Located along Route 12 in Ebetsu, I ordered the following dishes at a pasta restaurant:
- Carbonara: 890 yen
- Margherita with Tokachi mozzarella: 1,200 yen
- Quattro Formaggi: 1,390 yen
The Carbonara had a rich sauce with eggs on top, and it was made with fresh pasta. The pizzas were large and satisfying, loaded with cheese. The Quattro Formaggi, in particular, had an abundance of cheese and is highly recommended for cheese lovers. I also ordered the drink bar for an additional 300 yen, with the most popular melon soda being especially delicious. If you order dishes without the drink bar, there are many options under 1,000 yen. You can also opt for a large portion for only an additional 130 yen, making it a great value for your money.

The lunch menu has been changed. I understand the pasta, but the pizza is a mystery. By the way, please check the image for confirmation. On the top right of the lunch menu, it says "Pasta + 1 side dish," but I think the pizza is probably also "Pizza + 1 side dish" (not confirmed). The price for the lunch menu is 50 yen higher than the pizza alone (as of July 2023), so if the pizza also comes with a side dish, it would be clearer to write "Pasta or Pizza + 1 side dish." Is lunch cheaper with the drink bar included? But if not, it's strange that it's 50 yen more than the individual item... I still feel like a side dish should be included! It would be a good deal to get a salad for 50 yen, and the dressing is delicious too. I'll ask the staff for confirmation next time I go... I might forget, haha.

In the Nopporo area of Ebetsu City, along Route 12, there is an Italian restaurant with a spacious parking space around the building. My wife wanted to eat fresh pasta, so we decided to visit this place for lunch. It seems to be a chain restaurant mainly located in the Tokyo area, but for some reason, there is only one in Ebetsu, Hokkaido. The interior has a casual atmosphere with table seating. We were seated promptly as it was an early lunch, but by the time we left, the place was full, indicating its popularity. There were various menu options such as pasta and pizza, but we opted for the lunch set menu which was a good deal. I ordered the "Basil Pepperoncino (690 yen)" and also a half-size of the "Margherita Pizza with Tokachi Mozzarella (900 yen)" to share with my wife. The lunch set allowed us to choose a side dish, so I chose the "Soup of the Day," and I also requested a free upgrade to a larger portion of the Pepperoncino. The dishes arrived after about 10 minutes, and the pasta had a unique chewy texture which I had never experienced before. The menu indicated that they use special fresh pasta, so it might be a hit or miss depending on personal preference. The pizza was in the Neapolitan style, and even in a half-size, it was quite large, with a delicious crust. Considering the price, the portions were generous, and overall, it was reasonably priced. I think it's a good option when you want to eat fresh pasta.

The soft drink machine at the drink bar has been replaced with a new one, but the manufacturer remains the same, offering Coca-Cola. The new machine allows you to mix two types of drinks, such as Ginger Ale with Lemon. The Minute Maid Grapefruit juice is also still available and delicious.

I recently got hooked on a dish called "pepetama," which is a combination of spaghetti aglio e olio and carbonara. I tried making it at home while watching YouTube, and it turned out delicious. However, I couldn't find any restaurants that offer this dish. I came across a menu item called "Red Carbonara" at Popolamama, which is more like a spicy carbonara. It was tasty, but I'm still on the lookout for the perfect pepe-tama dish. The search continues!

Today's lunch was pasta at Popolamama. Personally, I love the aroma and taste of their pasta. Today, I had the Spicy Tomato Soup Pasta with seafood, my partner had the Bolognese (half portion), and my son had the Cheese Doria. The combination of the spicy tomato sauce and seafood is fantastic, and the sensation of eating it hot and steaming is irresistible. When you take a bite, the aroma of the seafood and tomato spreads throughout your mouth. It's just amazing. My son and my partner also kept saying how delicious it was as they finished their meals. This is a reliable restaurant that never disappoints. I will definitely be going back again.

I have been here many times, but I think I mostly come on my first night. Even though it is a nationwide chain, there are only two stores in Hokkaido, in Ebetsu and Hakodate. Unfortunately, the Hakodate store has closed, so now there is only one in Ebetsu. It is always crowded because it is popular, even on weekends and holidays. I'm happy that they have a lunch menu. I ordered my favorite dish, the Peperoncino, in a large portion (lol). The regular portion is a bit small, so I always go for the large one. Today's soup was corn soup, which made me happy. The Peperoncino was served piping hot, and since it is made with fresh pasta, it was chewy and delicious with a strong garlic flavor. I love spicy food, so I was curious about the Habanero sauce, but it didn't go well with the Peperoncino so I didn't use it. I was satisfied with the large portion and ended up feeling full later on (o´艸`). The drink bar is well-stocked, so I recommend it. The set meals and Popo sets are also good. I am satisfied with my meal. I hope the Hokkaido representative, Popolamama Ebetsu store, continues to be a popular restaurant and keeps up the good work! I will come again. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch. It's been over 10 years since I last visited this restaurant. I had been away from Hokkaido for 10 years, so I was surprised to see that it was still here. I ordered the hamburger meat dish, please check the official name in the photo. I added extra portions for 110 yen, and the total came to 1100 yen. For a pasta specialty restaurant, it's quite reasonable. Although I prefer a different taste for fresh pasta, I think it's good that they are flexible with options like extra portions. Thank you for the meal.

It seems like the lunch menu pasta lineup has changed a bit, with the spicy Neapolitan pasta no longer available (that's all I know!) Update 2021/10: Spicy Neapolitan pasta has returned. It appears that the menu items are regularly rotated.

Today is the second day of my three-day weekend! The morning in Sapporo is cold! I lit the stove again today and read a lot of reviews. For breakfast, I had cup noodles. My wife and I went to the Nopporo vegetable direct sales store. On the way back, we noticed a pasta restaurant that seemed crowded. We decided to check it out. It turned out to be a chain store, not the local pasta restaurant I thought it was. We decided to go in anyway. The interior was clean and well-maintained. We were greeted warmly. I ordered the "Garlic Butter Soy Sauce Seafood Pasta" and my wife ordered the "Octopus Basil Peperoncino" from the lunch menu. The dishes looked great, with lots of seafood in mine and plenty of octopus in my wife's. The garlic slices added a nice touch. The pasta was chewy and delicious. Overall, we were satisfied with the quality and price of the food. I may not be a gourmet, but I know good food when I taste it!

This year's first review! 🎉 Oh wait, I just realized that I haven't written a review yet this year, haha. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great year ahead! In these times, it's important to choose restaurants that prioritize infection control when going out to eat. Popora Mama, where I visited for the first time, excelled in their infection control measures! They had hand sanitizers, staff wearing masks, and even acrylic boards in the middle of each table! It was a bit surprising to see the acrylic board right in the center, but it made me feel like I was in a drama scene where people were meeting with a barrier in between. Despite the slight difficulty in hearing each other due to the board, it was reassuring to dine in such a safe environment. We ordered dishes like Shrimp and Mozzarella, Avocado Genovese, and Caesar Salad. The pasta was made with fresh spaghetti, and the overall taste was decent. The wine and highball were good choices, and the price was reasonable. Popora Mama is a chain restaurant with locations in Ebetsu and Hakodate in Hokkaido, and I recommend it for those looking for a safe dining experience. However, the acrylic board in the middle made it a bit awkward for in-depth conversations, so we decided to move to Jolly Pasta next. Thanks for the meal! 🍽️🥂

★House white wine for 200 yen★2 kinds of cheese and prosciutto for 350 yen★Red Carbonara with iodine egg light for 800 yenLocated along the Enbetsu Nopporo 12 Line, this budget-friendly fresh pasta chain restaurant has only two locations in Hokkaido, including here and in Hakodate. It is always crowded with families, so I recommend avoiding weekends and lunchtime as the parking lot gets full quickly. I prefer to go after work, around 9 pm, when it's less busy. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced, with laminated menus that are so new they haven't been opened yet, so no photos. Oh, and the wine is only 200 yen! Can't resist that after a long day of work. The white wine is smooth and easy to drink. For snacks, I ordered the "2 kinds of cheese and prosciutto" which came with small mozzarella and camembert cheese with a side of prosciutto. The prosciutto was a bit on the small side, but for 350 yen, it was enough. There are also many other snack options priced around 300-400 yen. The Red Carbonara had a tantalizing garlic aroma and was creamy with a hint of habanero sauce, I think. I could taste the acidity of the tomatoes and there were slices of chili pepper for a bit of heat, but not too spicy. The fresh pasta was chewy and delicious, made with high-quality iodine eggs. The thick-cut bacon had a nice smoky flavor and there was plenty of it. Overall, the flavors were well-balanced and surprisingly good for the price. I was pleasantly surprised as I had low expectations for such an inexpensive place. It was a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal!

This time it's "Popolamama" again... We just came here the other day... But it's okay today... Because my daughter is here! (^-^) I love "Popolamama". I ordered the "Asparagus and Bacon Basil Peperoncino Pasta for 594 yen" this time. After making a mistake with ordering Napolitan last time, I decided to play it safe and go with my favorite basil dish. I thought basil-flavored peperoncino might be too strong, but it was actually well-balanced and delicious. It was more on the refreshing side. My daughter was also satisfied! Thank you for the meal (^o^)

It's been a while since we visited "Popolamama," one of our favorite spots. This time, we tried their Napoletana pasta with fried egg and sausage, priced at 810 yen. I was drawn to the fried egg and sausage! I know, I'm like a kid! But hey, you like what you like, right? The Napoletana pasta had a nostalgic and tasty ketchup flavor that most people would enjoy. Personally, I prefer a lighter, buttery version that my wife makes. She always wins in the pasta department! I'm not just saying this to be nice, she really is that good! It's mostly about personal preference, so don't take it the wrong way. Thanks for the meal!

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, so I decided to visit around 7 pm thinking it wouldn't be too crowded. However, it was almost full. The set menu was reasonably priced and delicious! Is this the right way to enjoy Japanese cuisine? I left with a satisfied and full stomach. There were so many pasta options that I couldn't try them all (laughs). I really want to come back here again. Thank you for the delicious meal! (๑´ڡ`๑)

Is this place familiar? I came here quite a while ago. It was around the time when they were talking about fresh pasta. It didn't really impress me back then. Today, my partner and I decided to visit the restaurant on a whim. As expected, it was almost full during lunchtime on a holiday. There were many families with young children and elderly people. We ordered the spinach peperoncino salad and my partner went for the all-in arrabbiata. We also ordered a half portion of Caesar salad and a half portion of fresh mozzarella margherita pizza to share. The salad arrived first. Hmm, the fried bacon in the Caesar salad was smoked and delicious. The spinach salad was really good too. Spinach used to have a strong bitter taste, but it seems things have changed. I wonder if arrabbiata is better than peperoncino here? My partner actually prefers peperoncino, haha. Anyway, what's the big deal about "fresh pasta" here? Do we really need to focus on that? I mean, in Italy, isn't dried pasta the main thing? Isn't fresh pasta not really a thing there? As for the pizza, it was thin and not chewy at all. It was soggy with olive oil and lacked basil aroma and cheese. Hmm, this was disappointing. Especially when compared to the pizza at Oonobono. I doubt I'll find a pizza that surpasses Oonobono's. Well, if I ever feel like eating spaghetti, I might come back here. They have a drink bar, so it's kind of like a family restaurant. It all depends on how you use it. As for me? I might revisit if the mood strikes.

The drink bar coffee machine has been replaced with a new one, and now matcha latte, cocoa, and cafe latte are available. The oshibori (wet towel) has also been renewed, with a larger size and no longer smelling like mint. Great improvements!

This is a reasonable and delicious restaurant. It is easy to use for families or friends, and they have a wide variety of menu options. The pizza has a thin crust, so it's okay to eat it along with pasta. They also offer half sizes, so you can be a little greedy.
