However, I was surprised by the price - a year ago, the regular gyoza set meal was 510 yen, now it's 580 yen, which is understandable due to the rise in prices. But the large gyoza set meal has increased from 630 yen to 800 yen in just one year! The portion of rice has increased from regular to large, but I felt that the price increase was a bit too much. It's disappointing to see Miyoshi-no-san, who used to be a friend of the common people, raise their prices like this.

On a Saturday evening, I saw the neon sign lit up, so I decided to go in quickly. I ordered a set of 6 dumplings and beer for ¥710. The dumplings, with a garlic aroma, were soft and delicious, and paired perfectly with Sapporo Classic beer. I quickly finished them and ordered the dumpling curry for ¥550. Hmm... oh, it seems prices have gone up. ¥550, huh. The taste didn't change, but there was a slight change in the mindset of the eater. THE Sapporo Dumplings were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It's great that they have continuous service like fast food places. On holidays, you can enjoy a blissful time with beer and gyoza before the sun sets. Crunching on the cabbage pickles while sipping on Sapporo Classic beer is a delightful experience. Miyoshino Gyoza is versatile - catering to various customer needs with their menu. The gyoza and beer set (6 pieces) costs ¥670, and it's easy to dive into the second round before the first batch finishes cooking. The gyoza is cooked perfectly with a nice chewy texture, and the balance between the soft filling and thin skin is just right. The staff at the Kotonishi branch are diligent, following the government's safety measures meticulously. It may seem simple, but it's actually quite challenging... impressive. It was delicious. I couldn't visit any of the restaurants I planned to go to, either due to unexpected closures, fully booked reservations, or repeated thunderstorms and tornado warnings. However, in the evening, I managed to visit a takeout place called "Miyoshi" in the Kotohni area. Miyoshi is a chain restaurant known for its curry rice and dumplings, with multiple locations in Sapporo and other cities in Hokkaido. I ordered a curry bento (spicy with extra rice) and a pack of dumplings, which cost me a total of 970 yen. The curry was mildly spicy with minced vegetables and ground meat as ingredients. The dumplings were soft and flavorful, although they were not freshly cooked. Overall, it was a quick, affordable, and satisfying meal.

I sometimes get takeout, but this was my first time dining in. The interior of the restaurant is a bit old but very clean. The gyoza was ready after pressing the buzzer twice. I like both mild and spicy curry. Today, I felt like having the spicy one (though it was more like medium spicy). The gyoza is delicious on its own, or dipped in curry.

You can help yourself to pickles as much as you like here. I eat pickles while waiting. It is brought to you in about 10 minutes. I eat it by dipping it in a sauce with plenty of chili oil. This is it!! Just what I wanted to eat. Next, I ordered gyoza curry. The curry here is always good. I saw Myrebi-san put chili oil on the curry, so I imitated it haha. This is delicious!! Miyoshi really is the best in terms of cost performance. And it's less than 600 yen for all this. The pickles here have just the right amount of saltiness. Unlike the place I went to before, which was abnormally salty. I wonder why that is haha. I wanted to drink beer, but I'll hold off and head home.

Especially the taste of the gyoza was unique, unlike anything I had tasted at other gyoza specialty restaurants like Osho. Miyoshi offers all-you-can-eat menus. I remember about 30 years ago, the curry was around 680 yen and the set meal was around 880 yen. The curry was all-you-can-eat! When a group of big high school students ate, there was even a "waiting for rice to cook" moment. The set meal had all-you-can-eat gyoza! I have a very nostalgic memory of filling my stomach to the fullest. Now, I wonder if they are using the gyoza bar. Drinking beer and eating hot gyoza is a great time. On this day, I had 2 beers, 3 pieces of gyoza, 18 pieces, and a mouthful of curry to finish. It cost 1585 yen. It was enough to satisfy my hunger and free time. I enjoyed eating and drinking alone. I think this is the daily meal I need.

The food at Miyoshino is not just delicious, but more like "I really like it." I visited because I was craving their gyoza curry, which I think was featured on a TV show. I ordered the Miyoshino set (520 yen) which includes curry, 6 gyoza, and pickles. You can choose between mild or spicy curry, and I went with mild. The curry is great on its own, or with the gyoza and rice - it's a really impressive set that even people from outside the area would be surprised by the gyoza curry. A friend who moved away always visits Miyoshino whenever they come back to town (laughs). The only downside was that there was a bit less curry sauce, but overall it was cheap, delicious, and satisfying!!

Local familiar taste! One of the restaurants I would like to see expand to the Kanto region! As someone who grew up with the taste of Miyoshi, for me it's not Gyoza no Ohsho, but Miyoshi haha. I completely forgot about the unlimited pickles, and when they came out, I thought, "Oh yeah!" and it made me tremble with nostalgia haha. Once I took a bite of the gyoza, the flavor brought back memories, and I just kept going back for more! Even though it's a casual restaurant, when you eat there after a long time, the memories from the past get embellished and boost the deliciousness! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Since the intended restaurant was unfortunately closed, I casually walked into Miyoshi's Kotoni store along the way, which had happened in the past as well. I felt a slight sense of déjà vu, probably because I was eating the same menu as before. The dumplings are nicely grilled. The service is reasonably fast, and the prices are cheap and convenient. Eating dumplings that I am used to and familiar with tastes better when eaten fresh at the restaurant than when taken out. As a routine, I used to mix soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil in that order as condiments. Dumplings that I have been familiar with since my teenage years as a soul food of Hokkaido. The curry rice also has the same unchanged taste from the past, perfectly fitting the taste of Miyoshi's curry. The rice at Miyoshi's tastes quite delicious. Even though Gyoza no Ohsho and Osaka Ohsho have expanded into Hokkaido, when it comes to gyoza in Sapporo, more than half of the people will think of Miyoshi. After watching a North-Pro Wrestling Sapporo event and staying in Sapporo, my go-to meal is the jumbo set meal with a bite of curry roux.

When you come to Hokkaido, you should definitely try the classic Miyoshi set for dinner. I ordered gyoza and added 3 into the curry, and the other 3 I had with vinegar and soy sauce.
