I came after a long time. I hadn't been here for a few seasons, probably because of the coronavirus. This year, I thought I would come because it's local and I have time, but I found out it's completely closed for the winter season, so I hurried here (lol). The staff, there was a lady working, it was heartwarming and nice, but she also knew her job well, so I'm satisfied. They don't charge a service fee. I see, but I had a good time anyway. After a few years, it seems like the situation has changed, and it has become a good restaurant. Thank you. - Gazpacho - Broccoli boiled - Assorted appetizers - Knödel with sweet shrimp sauce - Charcoal-grilled Hokkaido beef fillet - Crème brûlée - Croquant - Seasonal fresh juice - Organic grape juice (white) - Herbal tea

I visited for lunch. The food was all delicious and you could taste the attention to detail. Especially, the mashed potatoes that came with the meat dish were really tasty. However, there were a few dishes that weren't explained and the service from the seemingly experienced male staff was cold, so I didn't feel comfortable using the restaurant.

Visited the restaurant for lunch on a national holiday with a party of two. We made a reservation about a month in advance, and it was necessary as some people were turned away without one on the day of our visit. There were two lunch course options available, and we opted for the 3800 yen course. The dishes focused on enjoying the natural flavors of the ingredients through methods like steaming, boiling, or serving them as they are. The restaurant had a spacious and open atmosphere, with large windows offering a view of the surroundings, creating a relaxing dining experience. Unfortunately, the vegetable garden outside was bare during our visit, which was a bit disappointing. Course Highlights (particularly delicious items are marked with ★): - Tomato... Simply a tomato, but surprisingly delicious ★ - Corn soup... Sweet and incredibly tasty - Campagne bread - Boiled broccoli... You get to make your own tartar sauce by breaking the boiled egg. The boiled egg was a bit plain, could have used more seasoning - Assorted appetizers... A beautifully presented plate with a variety of items like pate and pickles ★ - Braised pork cheek... The main dish, cooked in a Staub pot with a sauce similar to Salsa Verde. Some may have differing opinions on this dish, but I personally enjoyed it. The generous serving of mashed potatoes underneath was also delicious. - Fromage blanc ice cream... A light yet rich ice cream with a balanced tanginess, similar to yogurt ★ - Galette bretonne... A buttery and delicious galette bretonne, very tasty.

I enjoyed a French lunch at Bibure while driving through Biei. The casual atmosphere and very reasonable prices allowed me to have a special dining experience. I felt relaxed yet still had a sense of something unique, and I was completely satisfied with the service and food. I was moved by the experience that I could only have here, and I was glad I made the drive. I felt very healed and my heart was full of richness. The service was not too formal, but still warm and attentive, allowing me to have a fun time. Even though I chose the smaller course, I was full. The bread and wine went so well with the dishes that I couldn't stop eating bread. (The bread was kept in a hemp bag with a red bean warmer, which was also a healing point. I wanted to be in there too.) The seasonal vegetables were all deliciously sweet, but my personal favorites were the smoked fish appetizer and the pork cheek main dish. I also took out a lot of croissants and other bread, which were also very delicious! I definitely want to come back again. I am happy to have something to look forward to.

The Auberge featured in the guidebook was fully booked for accommodation, so I could only dine at the restaurant. I made a reservation in advance and was impressed by the interior design featuring Aalto lighting. There are two course options, with even the cheaper one being enjoyable. The service was a bit brisk due to being busy, but the dishes were truly delicious! Especially the broccoli steamed in Le Creuset and the pork cheek simmered in consomme soup were outstanding. The pork cheek was tender and lean, cooked in a light consomme soup made from vegetable broth, which was a rare and delightful twist. The croissant I took out was also excellent. I would love to try the breakfast with homemade bread served here. Therefore, I would like to revisit this place for an overnight stay next time.

I had been curious about Bibure for a while and finally managed to get a reservation, so I went there with high expectations. The result was... well... not great. I'll try to write my thoughts calmly without bias. First, the service. Despite having made a reservation in advance and the restaurant being empty, we were seated at a table away from the window, which was disappointing. Everyone else was seated by the window, except for a group from another country seated at the back. There was no explanation of the dishes, which was surprising. It was all written on the menu, but I would have liked to hear some unique stories about the ingredients and the restaurant. The food itself was delicious. The ingredients were fantastic. However, the way the vegetables, meat, and even the fish dish were served in a Le Creuset pot and then transferred to a plate felt very simple. I would have liked to see more creativity in the sauce and presentation. Maybe I was mistaken in thinking of this place as a French restaurant? Even the dessert, which was a large bowl of blancmange-like dessert placed on a plate, felt a bit too simplistic. The bread was delicious, as was the galette served at the end. The view, of course, was amazing. If you want to experience this atmosphere, it might be worth a visit, but personally, I think I'll just stick to the bread next time.

The presentation was very skillful and beautiful. The cooking method focused on the ingredients, so it was delicious. However, I wish there was a little more creativity. Maybe because the expectations were high due to the high ratings, I felt a bit disappointed. My family all made faces when they tried the gazpacho, and I personally dislike eggs, so I wished they had asked if there were any ingredients we didn't like before serving it as is. The pate was delicious.

I stayed overnight and had dinner and breakfast. They served freshly baked pretzels for dinner and freshly baked croissants for breakfast. It was blissful. The freshly picked vegetables were all really delicious with simple seasonings, and I was so impressed. I can't quite reproduce it at home. I had a very luxurious time. Thank you very much.

Hokkaido is Biei. It is an auberge located in front of a field of rape blossoms. Despite the cliché title, as someone who usually lives among buildings, it feels like a dazzling paradise. The auberge consists of two buildings - one for accommodation and one for the restaurant. You can have lunch even without staying overnight. The concept design and production were done by Jushi Saito, the former editor-in-chief of "Senmon Ryori" and "Ryori Tsushin", who trained many chefs at "Biei Ryori Juku". Although Saito left a few years ago, his philosophy is still alive, and the high-quality cuisine and hospitality continue to thrive. On this day, I had lunch. The spacious interior is welcoming. When you sit down, they show you a plate of strawberries. The strawberries in Hokkaido are still delicious. They also offer fresh juice, which is hard to resist. I ordered the "Yume Chikara" set menu for 5,200 yen. The set included: 1. Shiitake mushroom soup 2. Asparagus with soft-boiled egg 3. Assorted appetizers 4. Knödel with sweet shrimp sauce 5. Chicken leg meat stewed in red wine 6. Crème anglaise with haskap sauce 7. Petit fours 8. Mint tea It was a very satisfying lunch. If I ever move to Biei, I will definitely visit this place frequently. I also bought some bread to take home, which was delicious. I can't wait to visit again soon.

I visited Asahikawa Design Week and heard about a restaurant owned by the famous architect Hiroshi Naito, so I decided to check it out. The unique view that can only be experienced here! The building standing in the midst of nature in green and gray tones. Upon entering the entrance, a lovely fireplace and a showcase of bread greet you. I bought four loaves of bread here and enjoyed them at my home in Tokyo, the quality of the wheat was excellent and very delicious. Not only the view, but the food also delights you with its presentation. The sound of bringing the asparagus, the artistic presentation using smoked mackerel, and the dessert combining cheese and cream were all delicious. I plan to visit every time I come to Asahikawa. It's only about 15 minutes from Asahikawa Airport and has a great location.

I made a reservation in advance and thought it might be crowded at that time, but of course it was crowded!!! It's a bit hard to get there without a car, but it was really worth going! It was delicious (*^^*) I was surprised by how tasty the steamed broccoli was.

One of the highlights of this trip was lunch at bi.ble. We ordered the "Kitano Kaori" course to fully enjoy our visit. From our table, we could overlook a barley field. Although we visited after the harvest, it must have been a beautiful sight when the wheat was still growing. I chose the seasonal fruit juice, which was the strawberry juice for this season. It was not a smoothie, but a richly crushed juice, delicious! My husband had the Haskap soda, which was slightly sour and refreshing. The course started with a cold soup, a Gold Rush corn gazpacho that was sweet and fragrant. It was served with a cornbread, adding a luxurious touch. Next was the broccoli with a tartare made of mayo, anchovy, and boiled eggs, which complemented the sweet broccoli well. The appetizer platter was beautifully presented on a birch plate, with a variety of dishes like carrot salad, pickles, and smoked herring pate. Each bite was enjoyable! The Knödel with sweet shrimp sauce was fluffy and the sauce was rich, served with risotto. The Hokkaido beef fillet was grilled over charcoal, tender and flavorful. The baked potato served with it was exceptional! The croissant, served hot, had a rich buttery aroma and a gooey center, a unique experience. The cream danish with Haskap sauce had a light texture and a gentle balance of sweetness and acidity. We shared the croquant as we were already full, and took another piece for takeaway. It was almond-flavored and perfect with coffee. It was a dreamlike experience, savoring the delicious Hokkaido vegetables and ingredients. A memorable and wonderful moment in Biei. Thank you for the amazing meal!

After a long time, I enjoyed cycling around the hills of Biei. I made a reservation at "Vivre" for lunch. It has been 8 years since my last visit in 2014. The stylish exterior and the open table seats with a view of the Biei hills create a soothing atmosphere. You can enjoy a full course meal using plenty of locally sourced seasonal vegetables. I chose the "Kitano Kaori" course for 6400 yen. - Gazpacho (corn) - Boiled broccoli - Assorted appetizers - Kneel with sweet shrimp sauce - Charcoal-grilled Hokkaido beef fillet - Creme d'Ange - Croquant The vibrant green broccoli and the rich sweetness of the dish are irresistible. The innovative appetizers and the smoked herring showcase the natural deliciousness of the vegetables. The freshly baked homemade bread enhances the dishes, and the croissant is exquisite! The kneel is delicious, and the sweet shrimp sauce is fantastic. The charcoal-grilled beef fillet is crispy on the outside and rare on the inside, offering a luxurious umami flavor. The dessert and baked goods were also very delicious, leaving me fully satisfied. I had a wonderful time overlooking the hills of Biei. I also bought a Brioche Sandwich with Haskap (250 yen) at the bakery. It was soft and fluffy, with the tangy Haskap adding a delightful touch.

Bibure is a restaurant located on a hill with wheat fields in Biei, Hokkaido. It is a complex facility that includes an auberge, restaurant, bakery, and cooking school. It is located on the grounds of the former Hokuei Elementary School, which has been renovated into a place for young chefs to learn. Part of the Morie Group, a three-star restaurant in Sapporo, Bibure is quite large with many tables and a casual atmosphere. I opted for the cheapest lunch course at 3200 yen, which is inclusive of tax and a reasonable price. The menu is named "Spring Love," which seems odd for summer. The lunch course "Spring Love" includes: Gaspatcho and olive bread, French bread, Broccoli with anchovy and mayonnaise, Assorted appetizers (carrot, smoked herring, vegetable pickles, yam and carrot, pate on country bread), Ham and jambon blanc made with Biei pork, Croissant, Creme d'Anjou, Croquant, Coffee. The course is elaborate and offers good value for money. It is suitable for those not accustomed to French cuisine. However, the composition of the course could be improved, such as serving lighter canapes instead of heavy items like whole herring or yam. Additionally, the inclusion of a large croissant in the course was surprising and felt out of place for lunch. While delicious, the buttery croissant quickly fills you up. Overall, the experience was enjoyable but had some minor issues.

A must-visit restaurant when stopping by Asahikawa Airport or Biei. I made a reservation for 11:00 am on a weekday, arrived a little early, and also bought some bread (which is convenient for a long drive in Hokkaido). I ordered the 3,200 yen course with an additional 800 yen for fresh strawberry juice. The portion size was satisfying!

After a long time, I visited the restaurant at Biei Bibure. The bread sells out quickly, so I rarely get to buy it. However, after many years, I finally had lunch there. Everything was delicious. The steamed broccoli had a rich flavor, and the croissant was hot and fresh. The gnocchi with sweet shrimp sauce, risotto, and charcoal-grilled fillet were all amazing. For dessert, I had a fluffy cheesecake with haskap sauce. I am so full now. Thank you for the feast. It was a fulfilling time. The staff's service was also great. It's easier to drive from Sapporo via Asahikawa than from Mitsuke Lake in Mikasa. It takes about 2 and a half hours by car. It was a nice drive with my wife.

Auberge and vegetable French restaurant located on a hill in Biei. The cute building has large windows that offer a view of the wheat fields and Tokachi mountains. They also sell bread, and the bread served in the course is a highlight. Course: "Spring Love" for 3200 yen, named after wheat. Shiitake mushroom soup served in a Sprima bowl. The soup has a rich shiitake flavor but is not too heavy, very delicious. The French bread (Campanile) with whole wheat flour has a nice wheat aroma. You can have unlimited refills. Asparagus dish with boiled asparagus topped with mayonnaise and boiled egg. The texture and flavor of the asparagus are excellent, typical of Hokkaido. The appetizer platter includes carrot salad, smoked herring, meat pate, cucumber, and smoked yam in a birch bowl. The smoked herring stood out for its flavor. Croissant surprise served warm. It has a great buttery flavor, juicy and delicious. Homemade ham made from Biei pork thigh meat served with mashed potatoes. The ham is moist and thickly sliced, and the mashed potatoes are delicious with a creamy and flavorful taste. Creme d'Ange with cream, cheese, meringue, and haskap sauce. The meringue is light and the haskap sauce adds a sweet and tangy touch. Almond and meringue croquant with a crispy almond-flavored meringue. It's a light and enjoyable dessert. Coffee is served after the meal. For 3200 yen, this course is considered a good value given the quality and atmosphere. It's recommended to make a reservation before going.

I made a reservation for 13:30 on the weekend and visited the restaurant. It is located in a peaceful countryside setting in Biei. There are two buildings in front of a wheat field, one is accommodation and the other is the restaurant. When I called two weeks ago, it seemed like the reservation was full but when I arrived, there were quite a few empty seats. There are three lunch courses with different prices depending on the meat choice - pork, chicken, or beef. I chose the "Biei Pork" from the 3,200 yen "Haru yo Koi" course. The course menu includes 6 items such as shiitake soup, asparagus, assorted appetizers, homemade ham made with Biei pork, cream d'anjou, and croquant. The bakery is also attached and offers bread. The bread is not all-you-can-eat, but the basic is one type of French bread (free refills) and freshly baked croissants are served once. The whole wheat flour French bread has a simple taste with a strong wheat flavor, which goes well with the unique shiitake soup. The shiitake soup is rich in shiitake essence and was really delicious! The asparagus with half-boiled egg and anchovy under mayonnaise was delightful. The appetizer assortment on a birch plate includes smoked herring, pate de campagne, and Japanese yam with cucumber. The Japanese yam had a refreshing sourness. The freshly baked croissant was steamy and incredibly crispy and fluffy. The butter was very rich and the texture was crispy on the outside and moist inside. The homemade ham made with Biei pork was boiled and tasty. The mashed potato side was so delicious that I wanted seconds. The cream d'anjou is a new texture cheesecake made with a mixture of cream, cheese, and meringue topped with haskap sauce. It was sweet but rich with a hint of acidity, and the haskap sauce added a nice accent. The almond and meringue croquant had a crispy texture with a good almond flavor and was surprisingly not too sweet. Everything was delicious, the service was excellent, and it was a very satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal!

Visited with my wife during a trip to Hokkaido. Located on the beautiful Patchwork Road in Biei-cho, with a fantastic view. Biei-cho is known for its delicious wheat, and this shop offers freshly baked bread. Many customers come just to buy bread. The interior is stylish like a cafe, with large windows offering a great view. You can't find this kind of shop setup in Tokyo. For lunch, they offer three course options. Since it was a special trip, I chose the main dish of beef fillet "Kita no Kaori" for ¥6,400. The first soup was exquisite - a foamy bouillabaisse with locally grown shiitake mushroom soup poured over it. Rich and delicious. Next, there was asparagus with soft-boiled egg and anchovy, made from this season's harvest. The appetizer was also served. The appetizer included pate de campagne, smoked spring fish, and yam pickle, with a generous portion. The asparagus was slightly early in the season and lacked sweetness, but paired with the appetizer, it was delicious. Then came the bread - campagne and croissant. The freshly baked croissant was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the butter was like cream. Amazing. The main dish of charcoal-grilled beef fillet, thinly sliced accompaniments that I thought were cheese but turned out to be sliced mountain wasabi. It paired perfectly with the red wine sauce on the meat. The small, carefully cooked potatoes were crispy and flavorful, a potato chip lover's dream. The mille-feuille was also crispy and delicious. Truly a top-notch lunch experience, I was completely satisfied.

The dinner is wonderful, but the big reason I love this place is the breakfast, so let me introduce that. Freshly squeezed orange juice. It's truly fresh orange juice, not only delicious but also seems good for the body. When I become rich, I want to drink freshly squeezed juice every day. Bread. Just like last night, you can take home any leftovers. I'm always so happy to receive bread here that I don't even need lunch after coming to VIVRE. This bread is the same as what they sell here, so it feels like a great deal to be able to enjoy it like this. Bread is the taste of happiness. Salad. Lettuce and carrots with olive oil and wine vinegar dressing. It's just a simple salad, but the balance of acidity in the dressing is wonderful. Cheese omelette with homemade bacon. This is incredibly delicious. The bacon has a smoky aroma, is thick, and has a strong pork flavor. It's like the perfect bacon. Charcuterie is definitely the way to go. Now, the long-awaited croissant. You can have a freshly baked croissant straight out of the oven. It's hot and hard to hold, but the moment you put it in your mouth, the layers crumble with a crispy texture, and the scent of butter spreads throughout your body. I don't know of a croissant more delicious than this. It's all about being freshly made, but the deliciousness of being freshly made is extraordinary. It's very hot, but eat it right away when it comes on the plate. I can't be friends with someone who eats slowly. So, I'm completely satisfied from the morning. The bread and bacon are just so delicious. It's simple, but that simplicity makes the deliciousness stand out. The vegetables at night are good too, but it's worth staying just to have breakfast. The croissant is a must-eat.
