The breakfast at Macarena is just as delicious as Bibure, so let me introduce it. First, the tomato juice. Unlike the thick puree-like tomato juice I had at Fratello Demikuni the other day, this one is liquid. It's refreshing and quite good. Bread. While it may not be freshly baked like at Bibure, the sweet bread here is distinctive. You can also take it to go. Omelette and more. The omelette has a hidden layer of meat sauce underneath, which is incredibly delicious. This kind of common dish really highlights the difference in quality. Minestrone. Drinking a soup with root vegetables in the morning makes you feel healthier. It has a traditional taste. Salad. The dressing has a slight sweetness along with acidity, making it refreshing and easy to eat as much as you want. It was tastier than the Jojoen salad. My favorite breakfast item here is the croque (baguette sandwich). It's just ham and cheese sandwiched between French bread, but the high quality of each ingredient really stands out. And it's huge. This alone makes for a satisfying meal. Yogurt with pear and muscat grapes. This is pretty much as expected from the appearance.

After several years, I revisited Macarena. Located at the foot of Mount Yotei, it offers the best location to enjoy French cuisine made with local Hokkaido ingredients. The vegetables, in particular, are incredibly delicious. The salt-boiled broccoli is especially outstanding. I always come here by car, so I can't drink wine, but I hope to stay overnight someday. I heard that the neighboring hot spring facility has a sauna and an outdoor bath with a view of Mount Yotei. I'm glad I came back here. Thank you for the wonderful meal!!!

Auberge in the midst of Hokkaido's great nature. I wanted to include a one-night stay in my travel itinerary, and it exceeded my expectations. The course meal showcased fresh ingredients, high skill, and a love for cooking. It was a true delight to be able to stay there. The room was simple and calming, which was also wonderful.

Makkarena in Shin-Kari is a place I have always wanted to visit, but the difficulty in making reservations and the need for a substantial amount of time off have made it a dream destination for me. This was my first visit, and I was truly soothed by the ambience that felt like a country inn. I refreshed myself in the communal bath before dinner, and then dressed up a bit for the restaurant. Each dish, with its vegetables that seemed to concentrate the essence of their flavors, was a delight that gradually seeped in. The dinner was served in a quite spacious restaurant, perhaps due to the many outside guests. I wonder if they also host weddings here? For breakfast, there were scrambled eggs with plenty of vegetables and incredibly delicious bread. I took a sandwich as a souvenir and left feeling completely satisfied. I can only imagine how enjoyable it would be to taste the essence of root vegetables in the winter. It makes me want to visit again!

I love Moriharu, so I visited this place as part of my journey to visit all the affiliated stores. It is an inn with separate accommodation facilities. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is reminiscent of the beauty of Biei. The salad is beautifully presented, with each ingredient having its own flavor, allowing you to enjoy various tastes in one dish. I enjoyed the broccoli by pouring sauce over it to savor the natural flavor. Moriharu Cafe had a similar appetizer, but the cooking method and presentation here are much more beautiful. The main fish dish had a strong flavor of white fish. The mugwort blancmange dessert has a rich flavor with the accent of mugwort, making it a taste that grows on you. Everything was delicious. It offers great value for the price.

I had Dejuner B. The simple dishes that bring out the flavors of the ingredients and the pleasant service made me feel a refreshing and gentle breeze. I would love to experience the winds of the four seasons at the "Wind Restaurant". *It was a girls' night out, so we were too busy chatting and forgot to take photos of the fish dish and wine...

On Sunday morning, the weather was nice so I decided to go towards Mt. Yotei. I contacted them to see if there were any available seats and they said it was fine. It's so nice. They serve dishes with lots of vegetables. They use local ingredients like carrots from under the snow, Lily root, and Makari pork. You can also stay overnight here.

I visited just before Christmas. The portions were huge and I was very satisfied. The sweet sweet leeks, tripe, delicious bread and butter, and the incredibly large pumpkin pudding for dessert were particularly memorable. It seems to also function as an inn, so I will visit again when I come to Niseko.

On the final day of our trip, we revisited "RESTAURANT maccarina" after 7 years. I had been looking forward to this visit since the day I was able to make a reservation. Just like last time, we made a reservation over the phone and received a confirmation letter by mail. It's a unique analog reservation style that I hope they continue. We arrived at 3:30 pm amidst continuous snowfall. Guests can park in the parking lot right in front of the restaurant, which was convenient. With only 4 rooms available for accommodation (1 deluxe room, 3 twin rooms), it's always difficult to make a reservation. Due to the pandemic, it seemed easier to book this time compared to previous visits. After checking in at the restaurant building, we relaxed in our room for a bit. The central lounge in the accommodation building allows guests to enjoy tea and alcohol freely, adding to the charm. It feels like staying in a villa and is quite enjoyable. Before dinner, we visited the nearby "makkari onsen." I highly recommend combining it with a visit to "RESTAURANT maccarina." The dinner menu was similar to our previous visit around the same season (1 month apart), so the experience was almost unchanged. There were a few points that caught my attention. Firstly, there were no individual menus placed on the table. While explanations were provided each time, it was disappointing not to have them readily available like last time. I was looking forward to enjoying game meat, but it was not served this time. The dessert portion was too large to finish. Since there are mostly adult customers, I would have preferred a focus on quality over quantity. As a repeat customer, there wasn't much excitement compared to the first visit. The aging of the accommodation facilities was a concern. I believe a bit more maintenance would make the experience more enjoyable. Overall, the customer service felt somewhat lacking in attentiveness. It was just two groups, including us, on the day we visited, but we had to wait for the staff a few times and the sommelier seemed to lack the atmosphere for an enjoyable experience. Perhaps visiting in a different season would have been better due to the variation in ingredients. There were some aspects that didn't meet expectations on this revisit after several years, so I plan to wait and see for a while. Thank you for the meal.

After a long time, I went to Maccarina and as expected, from the appetizers to the main dishes, both the taste and presentation were fantastic. It's truly a dining experience that delights all five senses. Every time I come here, I am impressed. It's not easy to find a meal that is both delicious and visually appealing like this. The cost performance is also excellent. #Hokkaido #Makkari Village #French #Foodporn #Foodstagram #Foodblog #Top100Restaurants #AssortedAppetizers #NapaCabbageinConsomme #CornPotage #RoastPork

An auberge located in Makkari Village, Hokkaido. It's surprising to find such a place here. I was hoping for game meat, but they didn't have any. The cabbage was served as is, which was hearty. A restaurant where you can taste the local ingredients of this area. Before dinner, you can enjoy a relaxing hot spring nearby with natural spring water.

Dinner review. I had an iced herbal tea drink. It was fruity, not too herbal, more like juice and easy to drink. The red color stands out. ★Soup Warm corn soup ★Seasonal vegetables and corn crepe You roll it yourself. Corn is delicious, but the crepe reminded me of a festival. ★Salad Abalone with garlic and parsley. Garlic sautéed shrimp, smoked sea bream, foie gras terrine, etc. Sticky was new to me. Fennel, which is a vegetable improved for the Japanese market. The sea bream and foie gras terrine were delicious. ★Charcuterie Ham, pork, sausage ★Palate cleanser Herb and milk sorbet Strong herb flavor, I liked it. It was unique, and I would buy it if it was available. ★Meat or fish I chose roasted Ezo deer. The addition of Shishito peppers is common lately. The meat was tender and not gamey. Rice It was Nanatsuposhi. It was like Luroufan... Crunchy mushrooms were delicious. But, wait, this is not a French dish, right? Luroufan?? There was no explanation either. ★Dessert It was a pie... I was not listening to the explanation, and my eyes were wide open at the visual. It looked like a dessert buffet, but... The initial vegetables were good, but Luroufan rice is against the rules. This is not French cuisine. The dishes were Japanese. It may be French-style, but I didn't understand. I was further disappointed with the dessert. The appearance and content were too ordinary, not different from a buffet. I wanted to enjoy more beautiful presentation and delicate flavors. They didn't offer bread refills or change the wet towels. The parking lot is far. The nearby parking is for hotel guests only. It might be good for dinner when staying at the hotel. In other reviews, there was mention of broccoli on a white plate. I think broccoli is delicious, but was it just boiled and served with olive oil? Even so, it can be done. I understand the desire to convey the deliciousness of vegetables from their own farm, but unprocessed boiled vegetables are just like what you can get from a farm... It's a farm restaurant. Perhaps this restaurant maintains a classical style as a pioneer in the group. It's not that the food is not delicious, but as someone who seeks surprises and excitement, it didn't meet my needs. If the price is not significantly different, next time, I will choose a different restaurant instead of coming here. The atmosphere of the spacious single-house restaurant on the large premises was nice. Thank you for the meal.

Restaurant and inn "Maccarina" in Makubetsu Village, Hokkaido ☆ On clear days, you can see Mt. Yotei next door, but this time I only visited for dinner at night. You can enjoy a course meal with fresh morning-picked vegetables from Makubetsu, as well as plenty of Hokkaido seafood and meat. Alongside the "seasonal vegetables" are marinated mackerel, cassava terrine, conger eel fritters, and foie gras terrine ♪ Next time, I would like to stay overnight and leisurely enjoy the daytime view!

During my stay in Rusutsu, I visited this restaurant. There are two entrances, but it's easier to find the parking lot if you enter from the side where Shin-Kaributo Onsen is located. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is lovely. We were seated and the staff explained the reserved menu in detail. They use plenty of Shin-Kaributo vegetables, and the taste of the vegetables is rich and delicious. The chef's homemade ham served with melon was a perfect match for the wine. For the main course, you can choose between fish and meat, and this time I chose the Hokkaido beef rump steak. It was a flavorful and delicious lean meat. The service and food were excellent, and I was very satisfied. The only downside was the corn soup, which was delicious but a bit too salty. However, I would definitely want to visit this restaurant again when I return to Hokkaido.

It was my first time doing the Macarena in 5 years. I made reservations twice this year, but each time an emergency situation occurred and I had to cancel. Third time's the charm - I'm glad the emergency situation was lifted. This was my first time using the lunch course, the Tradition course (6 courses) for 7700 yen. It includes appetizers, seasonal vegetables, choice of meat or fish dish, soup, 1 dessert, 1 coffee, and small sweets. The seasonal vegetable was leek, roasted crispy on the outside and tender inside. The meat and fish dishes were pan-fried beef rump and oilfish respectively. The soup was made with corn, not sure what type, but it was deliciously sweet without being overpowering. I hope to stay overnight next time since I had to cancel before, and I want to try their breakfast too (which is also really delicious).

I am having a hard time deciding on a place for dinner. Before leaving home, when planning dinner, I had bookmarked this place that a fellow reviewer had visited. When making a reservation, I was informed that there were two options for courses: 8,800 yen or 11,000 yen. Considering the portion size, I chose the 8,800 yen course. For the main dish, we all had Ezo deer grill. For fish, they had saury, which has recently become available in Hokkaido. For the appetizer, a colorful plate with salmon, scallops, kelp, and foie gras with plenty of vegetables was served. There are no photos, but the charcuterie was served on a separate plate with generous portions. The hot andouillette in the charcuterie was particularly delicious. A herb-infused ice cream was served as a palate cleanser. Instead of granita, they used milk for a locally sourced touch. The main dish was also delicious. The vegetables were locally sourced, and the ingredients were traditional without being too fancy. It's a classic French cuisine. The ingredients and effort are well balanced for the price. The wine selection was mainly French with some Hokkaido wines. They had eye-catching wines like Jacky Serrano and Pierre Peters champagne, and Domaine du Trevallon. It's nice that you can also choose wine by the glass. The dessert was also delicious. The restaurant is located away from the center of Makkari town, so access is by car only.

I stayed in Niseko and took a taxi for 30 minutes to go all the way to Makkari Village at night. Of course, it was to have dinner at Macarina. The chef, who is known for using Makkari Village's vegetables and meat to embody the terroir, has branded the village as a production area. The restaurant was chosen as the lunch venue for the Hokkaido Toyako Summit. In the middle of the village's fields, in a wonderful natural environment, there was the restaurant I was looking for. On this day, I chose the 8800 yen dinner. - Corn soup... Unfortunately, this was mediocre. I wanted them to rely more on the deliciousness of the corn because it's Hokkaido. - Broccoli... It was boiled in salt, and large broccoli was served in a large portion. You eat it with bacon and other sauces. I understand the desire for you to taste the fresh broccoli from their own garden, but it was too much in quantity. Is it innovative or just Hokkaido-sized? - Appetizer... Fish terrine, scallop, foie gras terrine, tomato, various vegetables. This was delicious without complaints. - Charcuterie assortment - Palate cleanser... Milk and herb sorbet - Roasted venison... Sweet pepper, potato puree, daikon radish, carrot, beets. The deep flavor of the potato puree was good. I felt the goodness of the vegetable ingredients. - Rice... Rice produced in Makkari. Pork ginger simmer. It was strange why rice was served at this point. It felt abrupt, leaving some doubts about the menu composition. - Strawberry milk ice cream. The strawberry and coconut terrine service was a bit lacking. As for the service, the new staff seemed to just mechanically explain according to the manual, without showing any effort to communicate with the guests. In a restaurant in such a remote area, warm hospitality should be more important. After settling the bill and passing by the open kitchen on the way out, none of the people in the kitchen, including the chef, acknowledged us or said goodbye. Not even a single staff member escorted us to the exit. The restaurant's guide aims for "a warm and relaxing moment," but the lack of warm service was the most disappointing part.

Located in Makkarimura, Hokkaido, "Maccarina" is a French restaurant known for its excellent vegetable dishes. The village is near the famous ski resort of Niseko, surrounded by lush greenery and the majestic Yotei mountain. The restaurant was opened in 1997 with the aim of showcasing the village's high-quality vegetables. The chef, known for successfully branding the village's vegetables, is highly respected in the area. The restaurant was even chosen as the lunch venue for the first ladies during the 2008 Hokkaido-Toyako Summit, solidifying its reputation as a prestigious establishment. With a spacious interior seating up to 60 guests, Maccarina offers a variety of seasonal dishes that capture the essence of Makkarimura. The dinner course, priced at 8,800 yen, features dishes like warm corn soup made from locally grown corn. While some dishes may not stand out, others like the juicy venison and delicious mashed potatoes shine. The service may vary, but the picturesque location and quality of ingredients make Maccarina worth a visit, especially for a leisurely lunch with a view.

At the foot of Mt. Yotei, in the village of Makkari, there is an auberge called "Maccarina". The chef, who has worked at renowned restaurants in France, served lunch to the first ladies of various countries during the Lake Toya Summit. It has one Michelin star. With only 4 rooms for accommodation, it's hard to get a reservation, so we visited for dinner as visitors. Surrounded by the forest, the dining area is located within the forest, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The space is quite large, with ample seating and waiting areas, creating a comfortable flow of energy. Chef Shinichi Sugaya is from Hokkaido. After gaining experience at restaurants in Tokyo and Sapporo's "Molière," he went to France. He honed his skills at legendary restaurants such as "Taillevent," "L'Astrance," and "Le Moulin de Mougins." We started with vichyssoise, a cold and well-seasoned soup that awakens your taste buds. Next was broccoli boiled in morning-harvested salt, served simply on a white plate. It was delicious, but I personally prefer broccoli prepared in other ways. The salad that followed was exceptional, with a variety of vegetables and herbs that were not only beautiful but also delicious. The main dish was flounder with a tomato sauce, followed by a simple yet delicious bread and butter course. The meal finished with a milk and tarragon ice cream, a beef loin main dish, a side of pork simmered with locally grown rice, and strawberry-focused desserts. The meal was reasonably priced considering the quality and atmosphere. The classic style of the dishes may not appeal to everyone, but the wonderful location and ambiance are truly special. If you are not staying overnight, consider pairing your visit with a trip to the nearby "Makkari Onsen."

Lunch at 2021/8★dejeunerB for 5700 yen (excluding a 10% service charge). Celebrating an uneventful birthday, one of the good things about getting older is the priority for the vaccine. The lunch had three courses priced at 5700 yen in the middle. For a toast, I went all out with champagne for 1540 yen. ・First course: Appetizer - Beautiful! Fresh vegetables with added meat and seafood, topped with pate de campagne. ・Second course: Seasonal vegetables - Steamed broccoli with salt. Delicious with or without sauce. ・Third course: Cold soup with potatoes - A gentle flavor with a perfect amount of salt. ・Fourth course: Charcuterie - Homemade ham and prosciutto, along with perfectly ripe red meat melon. The ham was slightly rare, moist, and delicious. ・Fifth course: Main dish (fish choice) - "Turbot with bouillabaisse sauce." The skin was crispy, and the mild white fish with the sauce was excellent. The vegetables complemented the dish perfectly. ・Sixth course: Dessert - A strawberry-filled dessert on the sweeter side. ・Seventh course: Petit fours & drink - Herbal tea with natural flavors, served generously in a pot. The dress code was casual and clean attire was recommended. The view outside the window of lush greenery added to the luxurious and relaxing lunch experience. Thank you for the delicious meal.
