ワタシハ麺好きラーメンバッカ
I went to a restaurant near Kitashinagawa that I definitely wanted to visit while on a work trip in Shinagawa. I love niboshi (dried baby sardines), and when I searched for niboshi in Shinagawa, I found a menu called "Sannmi Ittai," but it seems that they don't always use niboshi depending on the day. So, I checked the daily combination on social media in advance, and today's combination was niboshi x oyster x asari - the perfect combination! The restaurant is on the second floor, and there was a line downstairs during lunchtime. However, the restaurant is spacious and the turnover is fast, so I was seated in less than 10 minutes. Most of the customers seemed to be office workers. I ordered the "Sannmi Ittai" in a large portion and also got a tororo (grated yam) bowl for only 50 yen, which is a great deal. If you don't opt for the special or large portion, ramen and rice together cost 1,000 yen, showing the restaurant's commitment to keeping prices low. The "Sannmi Ittai" for the day was served cold, which was much appreciated on a scorching hot day. When the ramen arrived, it was beautifully presented with vibrant pink chashu pork and green mitsuba leaves. The oyster paste also had a strong presence. The soup had a subtle umami flavor from the niboshi and oyster that spread throughout my mouth. In my opinion, the oyster's presence was dominant with a ratio of 2 niboshi to 7 oysters and 1 asari. Breaking up the oyster paste further enhanced the oyster flavor. The curly thin noodles and firm texture paired perfectly with the soup, and even in a large portion, the oyster ramen was delicious and easy to finish. The tororo rice had a simple, almost unseasoned taste, perfect for enjoying the pure flavor of tororo. It could also be enjoyed with the soup. Although the rice was a bit lacking, for 50 yen, it's hard to complain. If you want to eat a lot, opting for a large portion of ramen instead of rice might be a better choice, in my personal opinion. However, overall, I was very satisfied with this unique ramen that combines three ingredients, it was delicious, rich in flavor, yet not overpowering, and I could have eaten more and more. Thank you for the meal.
