I have visited the Susukino main store several times, but this was my first time at the Sapporo Station West Exit store. The restaurant is spacious and has private rooms, so this might be a good choice for when you want to eat in a private setting. The famous Bibai grilled chicken is undeniably delicious. The soba noodles at the end were served in a smaller dish compared to ordering them separately, which made them more enjoyable to eat!

This time it was a night drinking spot. The timing matched the peak day and time, with both Torigen and Kuromugi not there, so I had high hopes for Fukuyoshi-san!! Sake, appetizer, chicken skewers, other 2 items, sake, sake, moon-viewing meatball, sake, sake, seared ginger mackerel, sake, sake, sake, and finally, motsu soba for 1133 yen. It had been many years since my last visit. The quality of the motsu is indeed different from the main store, and it may not compare to a certain popular motsu shop, but overall, the quality of the food was satisfying. Of course, the sake was flowing. And the finishing touch was, of course, the "motsu soba." The broth with the motsu skewers was just perfect. The soba had a nice chewiness, and the motsu soba as a finisher was exceptional!! Sitting at the counter... Thank you for the wonderful time...

I visited a restaurant with my coworkers. It's the season for farewell parties, so all-you-can-drink places are fully booked. We ended up drifting to five different places before finally finding one. We started by quenching our thirst with draft beer. We had the original Bibai-style tripe, a assorted sashimi platter, seared pickled mackerel, ham cutlet, rolled omelette, and a single pickled cucumber, among other dishes. We also enjoyed some shochu with grilled tripe skewers, which paired well with the food. The seared pickled mackerel was a great combination of flavors. The restaurant was packed, but we had a great time. Unfortunately, I forgot to try the tripe soba noodles.

Today, next to this Fukuyoshi, there is a monthly enjoyment meeting. I arrived early and got too excited, so this is my first time at Fukuyoshi. The evening drink set is 1500 yen. I ordered the A set and the skewers are as delicious as ever. My companion ordered the C set. The wine stew that came with it was delicious, it was my first time trying it. It looks like another person has arrived, so we are moving to the next table. Let's drink! Cheers!

Popular branch scattered in key locations in Sapporo city. All seem to be crowded even on weekends. Ordered a Super Dry as soon as I sat down at the central plywood seat. White smoke rising from all around the seats... Is this also a reason for the popularity of this type of place? Let's order some skewers, shall we? It may be taboo to call out "10 skewers of motsu..." like in the old days. But still, I feel like ordering chicken motsu skewers. Yes, if there are leftovers... they will go well on top of soba noodles. Even though I know there are freshly grilled skewers on top of soba noodles... I can't help but feel this way. This is also part of Hokkaido culture. Chicken dashi soba (half) for ¥418. The thick and sweet-savory broth is nice. The soba noodles soaking in it are also delicious. I mix in the leftover motsu skewers, green onions, and shichimi chili pepper, and slurp it all up. It has a deliciously sweet and salty taste that makes me smile. I'm curious about the motsu curry too... I went on a business trip to Sapporo with some young people who haven't been to Hokkaido much. I took them to a Hokkaido izakaya that doesn't serve seafood. We ordered dishes that were as Hokkaido-like as possible. The favorites were the Jagabata and Udo. Both are similar to things you can find in Tokyo but have a slightly stronger taste. They were fresh and different, which was nice. While Hokkaido is known for seafood, Genghis Khan, and ramen, this time we tried local dishes. They weren't incredibly delicious, but they were something we don't usually eat, so it was good. I recommended the Bibai yakitori, but they didn't really like it. It's hard to win over the hearts of young people.

This is just my personal impression, there is no ill intent, but this is not good. I entered around 17:30, the business should have already started for a while, but there were no customers and the staff gave me a dirty look. Seriously... I don't smoke, but I was shocked to see an ashtray on the counter, as shown in the photo. I haven't been to the main store, but I've been to the Susukino branch a few times and "Fukuyoshi" was my favorite. It's such a shame. I wonder if the main store (headquarters?) is aware of the situation at this branch. Even the grilled skewers and the smell of grilling were disappointing. I won't be coming back.

Sapporo Station area. I have some time before a Chinese banquet. I ended up writing this review out of order (≧∀≦) I'll have a quick drink first before heading to the venue. Oh, they have a drinking set! I'll go for that! Drinking set for 1,200 yen includes 2 drinks + Set A (tripe, squid, pork skewers, edamame). Highball please (*ﾟ▽ﾟ)ﾉ Highball and edamame arrived quickly. I like this speed! Skewers came within 10 minutes. I'll eat the yakitori from Fukuyoshi quickly before it gets tough! It's delicious when it's warm! Sprinkle lots of shichimi pepper on it, yummy yakitori (´∀｀) The balance of these skewers is excellent. The pork skewers were especially delicious^_^ Second highball! They serve drinks quickly here^_^ I finished the skewers, thought about ordering more, but I have a Chinese banquet coming up, so I just nibbled on the edamame while drinking! It's great for a casual drink! Thank you for the meal^_^

Today, I visited Sapporo for an event at "Meshisakaba Tomu-ya" where my wife will be doing a kamishibai (paper theater) performance. Since Tomu-ya doesn't serve much food, we decided to have a meal before the event. We had some errands near the west exit, so we stopped by this place! It's the original Bibai yakitori restaurant, Fukuyoshi, located at Sapporo Station's west exit. I was impressed by the unique motsu (offal) skewers at Fukuyoshi in Iwamizawa, so I was curious about this place! It was around 4 PM, so it was not crowded. However, when we entered, the staff didn't notice us right away. We had to go further inside to get their attention. The service seemed a bit lackluster. I ordered a beer and my wife had tea. For our meal, we ordered soba noodles - half portion of motsu for me, and chicken broth soba for my wife. We also ordered two skewers each of motsu and chicken back. The drinks came quickly, but the presentation was sloppy. The soba arrived first, followed by the skewers. The half portion of motsu soba came in a small bowl with one skewer of motsu. I took the motsu off the skewer and tried the soba, which was surprisingly delicious. The broth was sweet and rich, with a strong chicken flavor. Then we tried the skewers. One had cartilage and the other didn't. After a bite, it was clear that this motsu was different from the one at Fukuyoshi's main branch. It was tasty, but not the same. The chicken back skewers were also different. The meat was cut larger, and the onions were different. The taste was good, but it was not the same as the main branch. It seems like Fukuyoshi's branch restaurants have a different taste from the main branch. They should stick to the main branch's recipe for at least the motsu and chicken back skewers. The citizens of Bibai would probably complain if they tried this. They should also improve the staff training. The food was good. Thank you for the meal!

I mistakenly went to the wrong place for months... finally realizing my mistake, I hurried over here. It's a beautiful restaurant. It was just after 5 PM, so it wasn't very crowded. I started with the evening drink set I was aiming for. You can choose from three types. Today I chose Set A, which includes edamame, three skewers, and two drinks. It's 1,200 yen, so it's easy to order. I was seated at the counter, with rows of sake bottles lined up in front of me. The Asahi Super Dry was nicely chilled. Some say it's salty, but I don't really think so, although I'm a bit worried if I'm consuming too much salt. I enjoyed the skewers that go well with beer, and I added two more skewers of motsu. This is the right way to enjoy an evening drink! I also added one more beer besides the set, so I had a total of three. It was delicious. I feel like I'll come running back here again.

This is a yakitori restaurant located just a few minutes' walk from JR Sapporo Station, which serves as the hub of Hokkaido's transportation network. Bibai City in Sorachi Subprefecture has a history of being a thriving coal mining town, and Bibai Yakitori was enjoyed by coal miners after work. The variety of offal skewers and chicken skin, as well as thigh meat skewers, are the soul food of the coal mining town of Bibai. Compared to typical yakitori, opinions may vary on these offal skewers. Personally, I am not a fan of offal skewers, but my colleague who came with me seemed to really enjoy them as he kept devouring the skewers.

Since before the pandemic, it's been about 3 years? I wanted to eat the crispy beef skewers at Fukuyoshi, so I visited the restaurant after a long time. But they were small and dry...lacking juiciness. It felt like they were just thawed and grilled frozen ones you can buy at the supermarket, not tasty at all. I wonder when it became like this? The regular chicken skewers were actually better. If other branches are the same, I might not come to Fukuyoshi for a while. It's really unfortunate to see a delicious Yakitori restaurant lose its charm.

Eating three skewers of Bibai-yaki is truly delicious. After enjoying three skewers, I feel completely satisfied.

When it comes to skewers around Sapporo Station, this is the place to go! Ice-cold beer and delicious motsu are the best combination! The motsu is the best here! The other skewers are also delicious, and I had a great time.

It's well-known for its delicious Bibai yakitori. It was excellent, but I prefer my kinkan (kumquat) to be a bit rarer. It might be difficult to have just kinkan on one skewer, but the whole skewer seemed a bit overcooked, a bit tough perhaps? I had it all with salt. Despite being so delicious, the restaurant was quite empty. Maybe because it's a Saturday night in the office district, but according to regulars, it's usually relatively quiet. Location conditions?? The price was good, and the first-year university student working there was good at spilling sake. Everything was good. It was delicious. It's a real local taste. Thank you for the meal.

The chicken soba is excellent. The grilled dishes are seared with gas and a gas burner. The chicken giblets are tough. It's nice to be able to drink craft beer around here, but often it's not available even if it's on the menu. However, I think it's good because you can eat chicken soba. The combination of fatty chicken giblet skewers, sweet and salty sauce, and firm soba noodles is delicious.
