I had lunch at the "Uo-ya no Daidokoro" in Nijo Market at 11:30, but the portion of the bowl was small and disappointing, so I decided to have something delicious since I was in Sapporo and headed to the "Tonkatsu Okome Sapporo Honten" at 12:30. The restaurant has a small interior with 14 seats (10 at the counter, 2 tables for 2 people). It was almost full, but I was able to sit at the counter without waiting. This time, I ordered the weekday lunch special "Rosu Katsu Set" for 1320 yen. It was served in just over 10 minutes. The katsu was very thick and surprising! And the center of the katsu was slightly rare! When I took a bite, the meat was tender and had a unique taste due to being rare, which was incredibly delicious. It was so delicious that I started to wonder what would happen if the tonkatsu was more expensive. And when I tried it with the recommended rock salt, the sweetness of the pork stood out and it became even more delicious, so I enjoyed the rest with all rock salt. The miso soup in the set was also delicious, and all of this for 1320 yen was a great deal! It was a very satisfying lunch. There seem to be many outlets in Tokyo, so I would definitely like to visit there. Thank you for the meal.

This is my second visit to this restaurant in Sapporo on a business trip. This place is famous for its medium rare pork cutlet, but last time, I asked them to fry it a bit more to suit my taste, and this time, I asked for it to be fried well. I'm sorry for my selfish opinion, but the deliciousness doubled. This time, I tried the recommended stem wasabi. You put stem wasabi on the surface of the meat and add a few drops of soy sauce. The perfect harmony of soy sauce, wasabi, and juicy pork. I highly recommend it.

I visited the restaurant in the evening around 6 pm. The place was about 80% full, and I was seated at the counter. I ordered the "Special Filet Katsu Set" for ¥2,500. After waiting for about 20 minutes, the dish was served. I enjoyed the filet katsu with rock salt and sauce. It was truly delicious, as expected from Chateaubriand.

Lunch on the 3rd day of a trip to Sapporo, Hokkaido. I've had enough ramen, so I want something more like a set meal. I also feel like eating some meat. There's a tonkatsu restaurant called "Tonkatsu Aoki" located just off Tsukisamu Street. It's a bit tricky to read the kanji, but it's pronounced as "Aoki" in on'yomi and "Mochinoki" in kun'yomi. Both readings are not showing up. I ordered the hire katsu set meal. It arrived in about 15 minutes. The crispy coating and well-cooked meat have a nice texture to them! The sauce on the table is good, but it's also tasty with salt or mustard. It's delicious! The only thing I would ask for is some dressing. I ate the shredded cabbage with the tonkatsu, but I finished the tonkatsu before the cabbage, so I ended up putting tonkatsu sauce on the leftover cabbage. Haha.

The deliciousness that goes beyond the common sense of tonkatsu! I saw a review saying that and I just had to go to this tonkatsu restaurant. And yes, it was amazing!! Incredibly tender. And the perfect crispy and juicy texture that really brings out the flavor of the pork. It was amazing. The 300g portion seemed intimidating at first, but I ended up finishing it all... I'm definitely going to gain weight... For those who like a lighter taste, I recommend the special tenderloin. Personally, I preferred the tenderloin over the other cuts. (No photos...) The sauce goes well with it, but try it with salt too. The parfait shop on the second floor is also amazing! (I will post about it separately)

Eating tonkatsu with salt. During my time in Tokyo, I was taken to a restaurant in Daimon and was really impressed. They have now opened a branch in Sapporo, and I have visited both the Daimon and Odori locations several times. This time, I had the top loin set with 200g of meat. I take a small plate and sprinkle different salts on each piece before eating. The different flavors of salt really make a difference and enhance the taste of the meat. The pork is fried to perfection, with a juicy and tender texture. The tonkatsu itself is flawless. The only downside was the side pickles.

[Order] Special loin cutlet set
For lunch in Susukino, I wanted to arrive at Escon by 12:30, so I aimed to be the first one there. I arrived 15 minutes before the opening, but there was no one there. I remember when I went to Ono-san in Kamata in the past, there was quite a line, but it seems the tonkatsu fever in Hokkaido is not that high. I entered smoothly at 11 o'clock and sat in the middle of the counter. I ordered the special loin cutlet that I had decided on from the beginning. Surprisingly, this restaurant has a woman in charge of frying, and the pork is from Hokkaido. It takes some time because it is cooked slowly at low temperature. The tonkatsu that arrived was like a true Kanto-style tonkatsu! It was thick, satisfying, and that's how tonkatsu should be. There were fewer types of salt compared to the main store, but it had enough flavor even without any seasoning. Although it took longer than planned, I was able to safely arrive at Escon afterwards, and it was a satisfying lunch. Oh, and the nostalgic song "Nanao Ka" that I often heard in college was playing, which surprised me. It was a nice touch. Thank you for the meal.

When I came to Sapporo, I wanted to visit Aoki's main store once. It's wonderful that you can make a reservation for lunch even if you're alone. Very much appreciated!! This time I ordered the special sirloin. As expected, it's 300 grams! It's so voluminous! It's also nice that there are various types of salt. Once I took a bite, it was incredibly juicy and I couldn't stop eating. I tried various seasonings, but all of them were delicious. Next time, I'll try the fillet. This is a restaurant I want to visit again.

I ordered the Katalosu pork cutlet set meal (300g limited quantity) for ¥2,000, along with stem wasabi for ¥100. The portion size was huge at 300g. They provide four types of rock salt, sauce, and soy sauce as condiments, but I prefer to eat it with stem wasabi and salt. The juicy oil paired with wasabi and salt is a perfect match. The miso soup had a strong ginger flavor, making it a great complement to the pork cutlet. I enjoyed it slowly, sandwiched between cabbage. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited the restaurant around 19:30 on a regular day. While the locations in Kamata and Hamamatsucho have long lines, it is often easy to get into the one in Sapporo without waiting. I ordered the special pork cutlet set (300g) for 2,200 yen. The menu now indicates prices excluding tax, resulting in a 10% price increase. However, I still think it's cheaper compared to other restaurants. It's delicious whether you eat it with sauce or salt!

Tonkatsu Omoi is a popular tonkatsu restaurant located a 3-5 minute walk from Susukino Station in Sapporo. Known for their thick and hearty loin cutlets, this restaurant was selected as one of the top 100 tonkatsu restaurants in 2022. While it is recommended to make a reservation in advance, you can also walk in on the day as there is usually not a long line, and they also offer takeout options. I tried their special loin cutlet set this time, made with approximately 300g of pork loin. The meat is fried slowly at a low temperature, resulting in a gentle cooking process that keeps the meat tender without becoming tough. The thick, juicy sweetness of the fat and the crispy texture of the coarse breadcrumbs are impressive. The various types of rock salt and the slightly spicy special sauce enhance the flavor of the meat and fat. The white rice and tonjiru (pork miso soup) are also delicious. This popular tonkatsu restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant on a regular night around 7:40 PM. Despite it being close to closing time, the restaurant was about 80% full. I sat at the counter and ordered the limited quantity "Katarosu Katsu set meal" and a bottle of beer. As described in the menu, the dish was quite meaty but also had a good portion size and tasted delicious.

On the final day of my spring trip to Hokkaido in 2023, I planned to have lunch at CURRY YA! CONG, but when I arrived at the restaurant in the rain, I was surprised to see a sign on the door saying that they were closed due to illness. Disappointed, I decided to go back to Susukino area and ended up at Tonkatsu Akaneya, a famous tonkatsu restaurant in Sapporo. I ordered the top loin cutlet set meal, which was made with Hokkaido-produced pork. Although the meat was a bit watery, the breading was crispy and the overall taste was great. Despite the challenges of finding good tonkatsu in the northern region, Tonkatsu Akaneya seems to be doing a good job. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited the restaurant in the early evening (18:15) on a weekday. It was my first time in a while. The place was about 60% full when I arrived, but it was packed when I left. I sat at the counter and ordered the "Special Pork Cutlet Set" for ¥2,500 and a bottle of beer for ¥600. The special cutlet was from the Chateaubriand part (230g) and was very tender and delicious. I tried it with Himalayan rock salt at first, but personally, I preferred it with mustard and tonkatsu sauce.

I had the pork cutlet lunch for 1320 yen. I was so impressed by how delicious it was at the end of last year that I decided to go back, and it's been 4 months since then. For those who like pork with a bit of fat, I highly recommend the pork cutlet lunch. The meat is very thick, but they cut it thinly which makes it easy to eat. The balance of fat is excellent. The meat is cooked perfectly. The thickness and cutting width are just right. Also, the way they serve the cabbage is beautiful. And the miso soup is delicious with a hint of ginger.

I wanted to have tonkatsu for lunch in Susukino after a long time, and I decided to try the one I had bookmarked. It was a great deal with plenty of cabbage, and I was pleased with the rare frying method they use. The color was solid, and the tonkatsu was very tender. I think this will become popular. It was delicious tonkatsu that I had after a long time. I would like to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I used it for lunch and made a reservation online the day before. It's very convenient to be able to reserve for lunch. I ordered the Hire Katsu set meal. The tonkatsu had a good balance of fat and was both firm and tender. It was the best for hire (pork loin). I like tonkatsu with sauce and mustard, but it also tastes a bit lighter with salt and a little lemon. The tonjiru (pork miso soup) at Tonkatsuya is delicious. Just rice and tonjiru alone make for a satisfying lunch. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Visited at 6:30 PM on April 6, 2023. "Tonkatsu Aoki" is a well-known restaurant in Tokyo and a regular at the prestigious Hyakumeiten (Top 100 Restaurants) list. I visited their Susukino branch in Sapporo this time. Accompanied by my trusty companion Matsuba-kun, we were relieved to find the restaurant just 100 meters away from our hotel. Upon entering, I was seated at the counter with four other groups already present. A unique feature of "Aoki" is the different types of pork used at each branch. The Susukino branch uses "Hokkaido SPF Pork." I ordered the limited edition "Katarosu Katsu Set Meal for ¥2,200." I prefer Katarosu as it has a good balance of fat and lean meat. The deep-frying process takes time, and my meal was ready in about 15 minutes. The slight pinkness left in the meat is intentional, as it finishes cooking with residual heat. I started my meal with various types of rock salt instead of sauce, as recommended by the staff. The four different salts provided added a nice variety to the experience. The meat had just the right amount of fat and was not too heavy, making it easy to enjoy. With 300g of meat, the rice and miso soup were not enough, so I ordered extra servings of rice and miso soup, along with free refills of cabbage. The miso soup, made with the same pork, had a perfect balance of flavors. I finished my meal feeling satisfied and not overly full. As always, the tonkatsu was delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This is a selected restaurant for the Tonkatsu Hyakumeiten 2022. It is located in Susukino, Sapporo. The restaurant uses locally sourced SPF pork from Hokkaido. I made a reservation and visited the restaurant, which is conveniently close to my hotel. The counter seats are spacious and very comfortable. The clean and traditional Japanese interior is accompanied by Okinawan folk music playing in the background, which was a bit surprising. I ordered the recommended Special Loin Cutlet Set (2,200 yen) as it was marked as a "recommended" item on the menu. While I have found the pork at other locations of the same group in Tokyo to be a bit fatty, the pork at this restaurant had just the right amount of fat and was very delicious. The cutlet was also incredibly thick. They also had Himalayan rock salt on the table, which is my favorite way to enjoy tonkatsu. The food was served in about 15 minutes. I also ordered Stem Wasabi (110 yen) which paired well with the tonkatsu. I enjoyed a bottle of Sapporo Classic beer (660 yen) to complete the meal. It felt great to have Sapporo beer while in Sapporo. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. (Review rating: 3.62 out of 5)

I arrived around 6 pm on Saturday and about 80% of the seats were taken. I ordered the hirekatsu, which is cooked rare in the center as stated on the menu. They also pay attention to the salt, so it's not boring. It's nice that you can eat it with either sauce or salt.

On Fridays, at the end of the month, and at the end of the year, I always go to Aoki for lunch. The food is always delicious, but I always end up eating too much and regretting it. The top sirloin steak is 200g for 1500 yen (excluding tax), and the lunch set is 170g for 1200 yen (excluding tax). I'm torn between the two, but I usually go for the top sirloin steak.
