In November 2022, I visited Torinosuke, a small personal-owned izakaya specializing in Sapporo-style miso grilled chicken skewers, located near Subway North 12th Street. The restaurant is a standalone house decorated with lights, offering a typical izakaya atmosphere. They serve all-you-can-drink options starting from two people, but you can also order individual items which are relatively affordable. The beer, particularly the perfectly poured Sapporo Premium Beer at 490 yen, is served in frozen mugs. The appetizer, priced at 350 yen, is a refillable plate of fresh and sweet cabbage. I decided to try something new and ordered the "Whole Grilled Sardine" for 590 yen. It was a whole fish without any fishy taste, but it can get a bit boring to eat and watch out for small bones. Of course, I also had to try their famous "Pride Skewer Set" for 400 yen, which includes grilled chicken, miso pork, and tsukune (chicken meatballs). The chicken and tsukune were quite ordinary, but the pork with its sweet and savory miso flavor was delicious. With a wide range of menu options and a convenient and easy-to-use setting, Torinosuke is a great place to dine. Thank you for the meal!

Located right near Kita 12-Jo Station. Started with cabbage salad, cheers with a draft beer. The hokke fish has a satisfying size and rich flavor. The yakitori skewers are all delicious. The fresh sea bream tempura is crispy on the outside and tender inside, perfectly fried. The ham katsu has a homely taste, bringing a nostalgic feeling. All dishes are cost-effective, with a comforting and satisfying taste.

It was a neighborhood drinking party. I went with a bird-loving young lady. They have various menus besides just chicken, like assorted sashimi. Even at a typical izakaya, Hokkaido can offer quite a decent level. Amazing place!

In early November 2015, I had a girls' night out with a few classmates a few times~ We usually go out drinking until morning on the main street or in Susukino, but this time we had a gathering at a live house in Kita 12-jo. We started with some beer and snacks at the venue before the event started. It was pouring rain that day, but we made our way to Torinosuke near the subway station at 9:30 pm with empty stomachs. The place was packed with students, office workers, and girls, and there was only seating for four people available. Since one of us was running late, the four of us started with all-you-can-drink. It was the coldest day in November, so we quickly felt the chill. The cute glasses-wearing waiter brought us a mini stove and blankets to keep us warm, which was much appreciated. Despite usually drinking until morning, we planned to take the last subway home from Kita 12-jo. We reminded ourselves not to drink too much and not to end up staggering. However, my friends quickly forgot that and kept ordering drinks non-stop. The adorable waiter didn't seem annoyed by our loudness and kept serving us with a smile. The cabbage dish that arrived was huge, which surprised us all. The liver was a bit disappointing, but it was the first of the season, so we were happy. The cream cheese with salted kelp was delicious, and we all wanted to try making it at home. The ham and tomato salad was a bit too oily but tasty. The zangi disappeared quickly as we were all hungry, and it was slightly overcooked but flavorful. The ramen salad with sesame miso dressing was well-cooked and delicious. The oyster fry was tasty, even though it was a frozen dish. My friends also had ochazuke and onigiri. The food was rated 3.5, but the cute waiter's smile added to the overall experience. We had a great time at this casual izakaya with such heartfelt service. We made it back home on the subway with my friends who were a bit tipsy. Thank you for the meal!

The restaurant is located near Hokkaido University and many company offices, so there are a lot of students and office workers. The staff are friendly and you can always enjoy your meal comfortably. The taste of the food is consistently delicious, with no disappointments. Although the restaurant specializes in yakitori, they also serve fresh seafood sourced from various places in Hokkaido. There are daily recommended menu items, making each visit exciting. Additionally, from 5pm to 7pm, drinks are half price (excluding some menu items), which is a great service. Visiting this restaurant is definitely worth it!

First visit (March 2018) Two adults arrived at around 7pm on a Saturday night and were able to sit at the counter immediately. We ordered a drink all-you-can for about 1300 yen, but with a discount for following them on Twitter or Facebook, it came to around 1000 yen. We started with a beer. The drinks came out quickly after ordering, so we were able to drink without any stress. For food, we ordered a cabbage appetizer (free refills), a platter of 7 skewers, and a sashimi platter with a choice of three types. We forgot what we wanted for the sashimi platter, but one of the options was unavailable so we ended up with tuna (which was delicious, so it was all good).

I have been to many different restaurants, but this one has a slightly different menu compared to others. However, everything is delicious just like other places. Also, it feels more affordable compared to other places. They serve cabbage as a complimentary dish, and you can have as many refills as you want. Additionally, when I went, they had a special offer where you could grab a handful of french fries for only 150 yen, which made drinking very cheap. I love french fries, so I was very happy about this. I went with 4 girlfriends and we had a great time. I only drank beer, but it was delicious!

I went there after a long time, the miso mon was cheap and quite unique. The menu has been significantly revised. It's not amazingly delicious, but the low prices make it quite satisfying. It's always crowded, especially being in a student area. The saltiness is strong in general. The kitchen seems like a sauna. The chicken salt ramen broke a new record for its strength. "Tori no Kai" was originally a new concept for a chain with many local stores, but now they are independent with no relation to other stores. They are known for their raw cabbage and various skewers. The pickled miso is a specialty. Overall, it's a decent izakaya with a wide menu including hot pots and platters for large groups. The sashimi is mediocre, and the tuna is not great quality, but the portions are generous. It's more like a cheap student hangout with decent food and reasonable prices. It's always busy, and the service is surprisingly good and enjoyable.
