Today we had a farewell party at Satsueki Kitaguchi area. There were 9 of us. We couldn't miss out on a private room, but gradually we are able to have drinking parties that resemble pre-COVID times.
- All-you-can-drink for 120 minutes (including draft beer) for 1,738 yen
- Toro Taku (appetizer)
- Nagaimo Tamagoyaki
- Secret Zangi
- Fried chicken cartilage
- Hokkaido potato fries
- Ham cutlet
- Delicious gyoza
- Salt tsukune
- Assorted skewers of 5
And more. I missed taking many photos. Cheers with beer as the keyword is "Good job!" Appetizer is Toro Taku. It's irresistible for me, a tuna lover. Nagaimo Tamagoyaki! It's good. Fluffy with mayonnaise and sauce. Today, I drank shochu on the rocks! A parade of brown fried foods! Zangi, fried chicken cartilage, potato fries, and ham cutlet! We indulged in classic izakaya menu items. 120 minutes passed in no time! Thank you for the feast.

I really didn't know any shops around Sapporo Station ^_^ Today, everywhere was full, and this was the only place I could make a reservation. When I went inside, it was really lively! The staff were calling out, and the salarymen were complaining about work... It really had that casual izakaya atmosphere. I opted for the all-you-can-drink option, and I was grateful that there was no limit on the number of dishes. I wasn't that hungry when I went, so I ordered sashimi, burdock, and zangi. It was really a typical izakaya menu. The prices were reasonable!

The first place was full, so I decided to try another one. After being turned away from a few places, I ended up at Saburo. The staff was friendly and asked if I had a reservation, even though I didn't. They seated me with a smile and brought out a delicious appetizer of tuna tartare. I ordered horse sashimi and grilled onions, both of which were perfect. We laughed about my experience at the first place and enjoyed our meal. Despite the initial setback, I had a great time at Saburo. Thank you for the good food and conversation. Time to move on to the next place! Thank you for the meal!

In February 2023, I casually stopped by Sapporo Station North Exit and lined up at Yodobashi Camera, then went to the popular izakaya "Saburo" nearby. The atmosphere inside was lively, with many salarymen enjoying their time. While the individual dishes were reasonably priced, the all-you-can-drink option was a better deal with the use of coupons. However, the conditions for the coupons varied, so it's important to choose carefully. I used the late-night discount on hotpot dishes, which allowed me to enjoy all-you-can-drink for 690 yen after 9 PM on weekdays. Beer was an additional 300 yen. Each person had to order at least 1,100 yen worth of food, and the all-you-can-drink lasted for 120 minutes with last order 30 minutes before closing. The green tea highball was 390 yen. The appetizer included negitoro with a small amount of chopped pickled daikon and grilled oysters from Akkeshi for 350 yen. The oysters were small and slightly overcooked, which was disappointing. The Hokkaido beef seared sukiyaki for 760 yen featured three large thinly sliced pieces of meat lightly seared, leaving the inside rare. The sweet and savory sauce with chopped long green onions and onions was okay, but a bit too spicy for my taste. I had about five cups of tea highball-like drinks, and even though there was still time left, I started feeling sick for some reason, so I decided to head home. The alcohol was served quickly, and the staff were energetic and friendly. Overall, it was a nice meal.

This is my first visit, but it turned out to be quite a rough visit. I came from Kanro, and then ended up at the karaoke as usual, but I stopped by here. Even though I suddenly dropped by and talked a lot, thank you for the pleasant response. I wanted to eat something raw after eating a lot. I ordered a sashimi platter with 3 types of fish and grilled oysters. The oysters were even more delicious than I expected. I hope to come here again next time. Still a long night ahead. Now, off to karaoke (laughs).

This is a shop located close to Sapporo Station North Exit. They have a wide variety of skewered dishes, and the tsukune (chicken meatballs) were delicious. They also have a good selection of drinks, making it a convenient place to enjoy a quick sour drink. Thank you for the meal!

2021/10 First Visit Finally, the restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic have been lifted in Hokkaido. However, gatherings of more than 4 people are still voluntarily restricted. On this day, after almost 2 years, I met up with some old friends to have a light drink. We had all changed jobs, but coincidentally ended up working at the same workplace after leaving our previous jobs. Although we work in different places now, it was a funny story to become colleagues again. Intrigued by the name "Daishu Sakaba" (Public Tavern), we decided to go in. It seems like it used to be called "Aiyoi" before, and it might be a common practice to restart under a new name. We were warmly welcomed by the lively staff, underwent temperature checks and hand sanitization. The "Otoshi" (appetizer) was Negitoro for 300 yen. The "Nomihodai" (all-you-can-drink) was 1,580 yen for beer. If you opt for authentic shochu, it will be 1,880 yen (excluding tax), which felt a bit expensive for a "public tavern." The "Sashimi Trio" was 982 yen (excluding tax) with tuna, mackerel, and salmon. Although the menu listed it at 870 yen, it was priced at 982 yen, leaving us a bit puzzled. The "Green Salad" was 591 yen (excluding tax), not really suitable for sake. The "Squid Salted Innards" was 345 yen (excluding tax), a store-bought item that was too sweet. The "Assorted 5 Skewers" was 727 yen (excluding tax), with each skewer priced at 160 yen. It was truly a long-awaited gathering with friends. We had planned to enjoy cheap drinks at a public tavern, but it turned out to be unexpectedly expensive. Well, considering how tough the industry is, let's support them.

Today, my girlfriend brought me a souvenir of the "Nagaimo Tamagoyaki" (600 yen) that we had at Saburo-san near Yodobashi Camera in the city. The tamagoyaki here was very fluffy and soft because it had nagaimo (Chinese yam) in it. It was served with sauce and mayonnaise, which is a unique way to eat it. We reheated it in the microwave, drizzled plenty of sauce and mayonnaise, and tried it. It tasted more like okonomiyaki than tamagoyaki, which was interesting. Although the fluffiness was lost a bit compared to when we had it at the restaurant, I still found it delicious. Saburo-san is a seafood izakaya where you can enjoy fresh seafood, and my girlfriend particularly enjoyed the fresh oysters. I would like to try some delicious seafood and sake at the restaurant next time. I can't wait to have some sashimi with my favorite Japanese sake. Looking forward to it! Thank you for the meal!

The restaurant is divided, making it great for drinking with friends. The miso-marinated cheese was delicious.
