It's been 3 years since my last business trip to Sapporo. Even before I arrived, there were a few restaurants that I was eager to visit, such as SUAGE for soup curry and this ramen shop... "Ebisoba Ichigen Main Store." I was blown away the first time I tried it, and ever since then, I have made it a point to visit this restaurant every time I come to Sapporo. I was excited to see if my friends, Prash and M-kun, would enjoy it as much as I do. As I leisurely walked from Susukino's bustling district to the restaurant, I caught a whiff of shrimp in the air... Oh, I can see the restaurant now! Surprisingly, there was no line outside. This was a first for me, despite having visited this place several times before. Perhaps it was because it was still early, or maybe the impact of COVID-19. I opened the door and entered the restaurant. There was no one waiting inside either. We were seated at the counter right away. Now, time to order. Prash and M-kun ordered the shrimp salt ramen, while I opted for the shrimp miso ramen, all with a moderate amount of soup. The soup had three varieties, with a blend of tonkotsu soup, each labeled as original, moderate, or flavorful. We ordered a bottle of beer to share among the three of us and waited for our bowls to arrive. After about 7-8 minutes, our long-awaited Ebisoba Ichigen ramen was served. The aroma of shrimp was tantalizing. I couldn't wait any longer. Let's dig in! First, the soup. The tonkotsu-based shrimp soup was rich and flavorful. It was truly satisfying. The noodles were thick, and as I slurped them up, the shrimp flavor lingered in my mouth. The shrimp aroma that wafted through my nose was a delightful sensation. Although the initial excitement from my first visit was not there, the joy of reuniting with an old friend after a long time was heartwarming. Eating the noodles, sipping the soup, and repeating the process brought a small sense of happiness. Prash and M-kun also seemed to enjoy their shrimp ramen. If you're not averse to shrimp, I highly recommend trying this ramen at least once. It seems like they have expanded to other locations like Tokyo, so I would love to try it again if I have the chance. After finishing our meal, I glanced back and saw that the waiting chairs in the restaurant were now full... Customers were starting to line up outside as well. It's definitely a popular spot. I was relieved that my worries were unfounded. Ah, I'm full. Now, let's take a walk back to the hotel to walk off this meal.
