I had been curious about this restaurant for a while.
Atmosphere: The interior is spacious and very cozy. The vintage feel of the place and the experienced staff create a warm ambiance.
Food: I made a reservation for the 3000 yen course, which was the cheapest option available. Each dish was delicious and the portions were generous. They also had a great variety of drinks to choose from.
Overall: This restaurant is a great value for enjoying a relaxing evening with good food and drinks.

We came here to drink with three people looking for a cheap place. I visited this place about 3 years ago, but haven't been back since... I think they only offer set courses here? The 6-item evening drink set is 2100 yen (tax included) and the 120-minute all-you-can-drink option is 1700 yen (tax included). The table is already set with dishes like appetizers, assorted sashimi, vinegared dish, and two small side dishes. The small dishes include whale meat and whale bacon, as well as radish sprouts with sea pineapple vinegar. There are about 9 types of sashimi, but the freshness is... especially the raw baby fish is not good, bitter and has a fishy smell. The beer has a lot of foam (lol). The steamed mushrooms are okay (lol). The chawanmushi with crab is decent. The chicken wings are red... The grilled fish and the kajika fish on the rice are not too salty, which is good! I'm not a fan of the sake brand, so hot sake is a safe choice. I made a reservation a few days ago, so I wish they used fresher ingredients...

On 19/11/06, four of us welcomed a senior colleague from work who came on a business trip from Sapporo. The senior colleague's favorite is Japanese sake and Japanese cuisine. It had been two years since their last visit. We ordered the evening drink set for 2100 yen and a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option for 1700 yen. Despite the tax increase, the prices remained the same as two years ago, which we were very grateful for. The owner, who honed their skills at a hotel in the city, served dishes that perfectly complemented the drinks. Each dish used seasonal ingredients, which we appreciated. We drank and ate to our heart's content. "It's been a while since I've had such delicious food," I said. The senior colleague also seemed satisfied. A great Japanese restaurant in the streets of Paris. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

The boss suddenly decided to come to Asahikawa for work, even though it was a weekday. When I called the restaurant, they said it was fine to come. They asked if a drinking set was okay, and I agreed. When I arrived, there were already several dishes on the table. The sashimi was a bit dry, but that's okay. I wanted to have all-you-can-drink, but my boss can't handle alcohol well, so we went with hot sake instead. The chawanmushi had a lot of ingredients in it. We didn't take photos as usual, but we had oysters, tuna collar, and a mini rice bowl with baby kajika fish on top. The total cost for the food was surprisingly cheap at 2100 yen. We were so full that we said goodbye and headed to our favorite bar for more drinks. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a lively area in Asahikawa city called Pari. I'm starting to get used to the small streets in this city. Pari, well, it's a bit fancier and slightly more expensive compared to Furari. I finally visited a izakaya that I was curious about. They offer a great deal - a same-day reservation for a 6-dish evening set for 2,100 yen (food only) or you can add a 120-minute all-you-can-drink option for an additional 1,700 yen. Many seniors seem to enjoy this place, and the visual presentation of the sashimi and appetizers is impressive. I made a reservation over the phone just to confirm the evening set option, which seems to be a popular choice. The staff seated me at the counter where my set was already lined up. The staff clumsily asked me about my drink preference and then smoothly suggested the all-you-can-drink option. I decided to go for it and ordered a draft beer. The dishes were lined up in front of me, and I wasn't sure where to start. I decided to start with the appetizer plates. The edamame, scallops, smoked salmon, and shrimp were all delicious. The tarako on cucumber topped with crab miso was a nice touch. I quickly finished my drink and asked for a refill. The staff brought me a full glass of beer promptly. I then moved on to the sashimi - the tuna, sea squirt, squid, medium fatty tuna, scallop, button shrimp, and surf clam were all delicious. The sea squirt with vinegar, sea urchin, and herring roe were particularly tasty. I also enjoyed the grilled dishes - the grilled Atka mackerel and boiled corn were delicious. The steamed enoki mushrooms were a nice break for my stomach. I also had two oysters and enjoyed them. I washed it all down with local sake, trying both the special junmai-shu from the male Yamagata brewery and the Kuzuryu sake. I indulged in multiple refills of sake. It was a satisfying meal, and despite not having room for additional dishes, I was full. The bill was surprisingly cheap for the amount of food and drinks I consumed. It was a perfect fit for a frugal man like me. The quality of the ingredients and dishes may not be top-notch, but the value for money and the pleasant drunkenness made it worth it. I finished off with a chawanmushi that was on the table from the beginning. Overall, it was a great experience.

One night, I attended an OFF meeting where people who love a certain thing gathered. It was my second time attending, after joining for the first time last year. The location was at "Washokudo Matsui" in the Paris Street in Asahikawa City, 4th Street, 6th block. It was my first visit. This time, there were 12 participants in the OFF meeting. We all raised our glasses for a toast. The course was 2 hours of all-you-can-drink for 4,000 yen per person. Here is the list of dishes served: - Appetizers (6 dishes) - Namako vinegar - Horse sashimi (turned out to be whale according to Kitadora's review on Tabelog) - Chawanmushi - Sashimi - Hokke - Dobinmushi (with maitake mushrooms or shimeji mushrooms) - Tuna collar - Oysters - Ochazuke In total, about 10 dishes were served. I was happy to see Kusaida-san, who I couldn't meet last year. I left during the second round, but it seems some went as far as the fourth round. Of course, the finale was a certain dish. Though it was a short time, I enjoyed talking with everyone. Thank you to the organizer and participants. I would like to join again. The food was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This day was not planned, but the first famous restaurant was unexpectedly disappointing, so we decided to move to a sushi or soba place. Then, as a last resort, we called Matsui-san and miraculously got a seat around 7:00, so we immediately decided to go! It was our first visit since they moved to the first floor! Matsui-san still had his cute smile and figure. The restaurant was surprisingly empty... I wondered if something had changed since I last visited, but then I noticed that almost all the other tables were reserved! Of course, it's Matsui-san we're talking about... As usual, the dishes kept coming out one after another without us ordering, and my two classmates who were visiting for the first time were amazed and impressed. We had a great time and were completely satisfied with the 2500 yen bill. It's not just cheap, it's delicious too!

I attended a workplace reunion with my colleagues, where we enjoyed the "all-you-can-drink for 1700 yen + evening drinking set for 2100 yen" deal. This time, we had colleagues from Sapporo join us, making it a great reunion. The restaurant is popular among our colleagues, and I highly recommend the evening drinking set. The owner, who used to be a chef at a Japanese restaurant in a local hotel, prepares high-quality dishes that go perfectly with drinks. The variety of drinks available for the all-you-can-drink deal is impressive, especially considering the price. I may have indulged a bit too much in tasting different types of sake that day. The restaurant, located in the historic entertainment district of Paris Street, is a bit compact with curtain dividers between tables, making it more suitable for small groups. I recommend making a reservation for a small group to fully enjoy the experience.

Here is the translation of the restaurant review:
I visited here under the guise of a year-end party for a married couple, with the reason being Mr. Matsui. It was my first visit in a while. During my absence, the restaurant moved from the second floor to the first floor (laughs). It seems like it used to be the site of an old bar (Balalaika) but has been completely transformed into a Japanese restaurant through renovation. It looks like they added a few more sunken kotatsu seating areas and reduced the counter space. The menu now seems to only offer the "Evening Set" (2100 yen). I've never seen anyone order anything other than the evening set before, so it might have been inevitable. They also offer an all-you-can-drink option for 1700 yen for 2 hours, making the total 3800 yen. It seems like there was a 100 yen price increase for each. The location went down, but the prices went up (laughs). Still, the cost performance is excellent. The meal includes 6 appetizers, sashimi, grilled dishes, steamed dishes, rice dishes, and more. It's quite filling. Plus, the selection of sake is amazing. Sake lovers will be delighted. After 2 hours, I was full and drunk (laughs). Thanks for the great meal. Oh, and the master is a really nice person.

I made a reservation for a drink-all-you-can course with two bosses from work for 4000 yen. The appetizers served by the owner, who was a chef of Japanese cuisine at Toyo Hotel, were perfect for sake! I enjoyed it until the end.

I may have had too high expectations because the reviews were good. There were indeed a lot of dishes and the cooking seemed to have some effort put into it. Maybe it was because it was a weekday, but the overall atmosphere in the restaurant was a bit lackluster, and the dishes lacked flavor and were all below average. The prices were reasonable, but I didn't feel satisfied. I probably won't visit again.
