"Opened in the north of Nishimachi along the old Route 5, the long-established Otaru yakiniku restaurant 'Dainimon Nishimachi Store' was already bustling with a line of about 10 people in front of the store when I arrived, just over 5 minutes past the opening time. It took me about an hour to finally enter and be seated. The interior of the restaurant had a long corridor stretching straight back from the entrance, with the eel's sleeping area on the left side, the kitchen on the right, and the restroom. There were several 2-person and 4-person tables near the entrance, and some semi-private seating further back. I quickly looked at the menu, which was also available on paper, but orders were placed primarily through a tablet. The weekday lunch menu included options like pork hormone set meal for 800 yen, special beef bowl set meal for 950 yen, cold noodle set meal, warm noodle set meal, raw lamb set meal for 1,100 yen, premium kalbi set meal for 1,300 yen, beef tongue set meal for 1,700 yen, and special kalbi set meal for 2,200 yen. I ordered the 'three-point mixed set meal for 1,800 yen' with a choice of drink, opting for oolong tea. The food was served in about 7 minutes, consisting of 50g each of kalbi, sagari, and pork hormone, along with salad, kimchi, namul, rice, wakame soup, and the chosen drink. The standout feature was the quality of the meat, which was incredibly tender, juicy, and flavorful. The kalbi had a nice, elegant distribution of fat, while the sagari had a substantial thickness that was satisfying to bite into. The pork hormone was cut into large pieces, with a smooth and bouncy texture that was impressive. The seasoning was a bit strong for my taste, but it worked well for hearty eating. I ordered with sauce this time, but I would like to try it with salt next time. Lastly, about 'Otaru yakiniku,' it is customary to pour the soup into the leftover sauce and drink it, and you can order a 'finishing soup' from the tablet (for free). I won't comment on the taste, but for those who haven't tried it, I recommend giving it a go. I will definitely be revisiting with my wife for dinner. Thank you for the valuable information."
