The Atka mackerel set meal for 1300 yen was amazing. They grilled it in the kitchen and it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The size of the fish was big and filling. Other dishes like pork set meals and rice bowls also looked voluminous and the pork looked like a good quality loin. I would definitely come back here in Kushiro to try other menu items.

I came here once with the desire to visit the fishing port nearby, and this is a restaurant on the first floor of the "Kushiro Fisheries Center". The inside is spacious, but it is packed with customers. After being seated, I looked at the menu and found that there are many set meals other than seafood, making it easy for people who are not fond of fish to dine here. I ordered the Special Seafood Bowl for 2,300 yen. My companion ordered the "Hamamatsu-cho Salmon Special Bowl" for 1,200 yen, which was displayed on the wall menu. The tray that was served included pickles, miso soup with radish and tofu, and a seafood bowl with 10 varieties. The contents may vary depending on the day, including tuna, shrimp, octopus, crab, sea urchin, salmon roe, etc. The freshness is a given, and the taste is naturally delicious. However, I felt somewhat unsatisfied. If you were to eat at a more upscale place, it would probably be more expensive. Perhaps I have become accustomed to seeing impressive dishes on TV lately, such as on "Human Documentary Omotenashi no Ten", and that is why I didn't feel impressed. It may also be because the image of the Special Seafood Bowl on this restaurant's website looked inferior compared to the actual presentation. My companion's "Salmon Special Bowl" apparently used salmon seasoned with a Chinese-style spiciness (similar to yukhoe). If I feel like it, I might visit the main store as well.

I visited the restaurant around 11 am on a weekday and there were no waiting customers. I ordered the seafood bowl for 1890 yen, and it was delicious without any complaints. However, I noticed that the taste of the fish was a bit blurry, maybe because it's summer. When I visited the same place in September last year, the fish was firm and fresh, so I guess the taste varies depending on the season. I would like to visit again in autumn.

I arrived at the restaurant around 10:00 in July 2023. There were many customers before me and 4 groups of customers after me. This restaurant is located in a port area away from the city center and has been open since 7:00 in the morning. It was my first time visiting this restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is quite spacious, making it a comfortable place to dine alone without feeling out of place. I ordered the Chef's Special Bento, which included sashimi (shrimp, salmon), grilled mackerel, fried white fish, zangi (fried chicken), potato salad, and plenty of cod roe. The sashimi was the most delicious part of the meal. The bento had a good amount of food in it. I actually wanted to have the curry, but it was not available that day. I heard that the curry at Kuchan Shokudo is really good, so I was a bit disappointed. Overall, it was a great experience to be able to have a meal in the morning at this restaurant.

Lunch was fully booked (^◇^;) I had the sardine sashimi set meal for 1,100 yen. It may be a bit pricey, but the sardine was very sweet and delicious. My husband ordered the crab fried rice for 890 yen, but it was a bit bland and not something we would order again. When you come here, you have to try the seafood!

Amazing!! I stopped by on my way to work and was treated by my senior to a luxurious meal. I wish I had more time to leisurely explore the aquarium as well. The seafood bowl looks delicious and filling, and for the price in the 2000 yen range, it's a steal. Thank you, Kushiro.

I had a seafood bowl. The sashimi was fresh and delicious. I don't like sea urchin, so I asked to have crab instead. You can change ingredients you don't like. The seafood bowl in the photo is not a special selection, but I am very satisfied. I would like to go again. They also serve breakfast from 7 am, which is nice.

I went for breakfast at 7 am. It was like a dining hall at the fishing port. I ordered the morning set meal (daily special) for 770 yen. The cost performance is great. It seems like you can get extra rice, and when you consider the egg over rice, the regular portion might not be enough.

This is a branch of a restaurant located near the fishing port in Kushiro. Although I was curious about the limited 5 servings per day special bento, I decided to order the popular classic menu on this day. I had the sashimi set meal (1400 yen) which included luxurious and flavorful lean tuna, thick and delicious salmon, plump and juicy large shrimp, and a well-balanced mackerel to finish, all of which made me thoroughly satisfied. Despite being a sashimi set meal, the fact that you can also enjoy the famous grilled mackerel makes it a great deal. The grilled mackerel is slightly smaller compared to the sashimi, but it complements the sashimi well. What surprised me was not just the fish. Firstly, the side dish of vegetables was fresh and crunchy, more like a salad than a side dish. I'm usually not a fan of side dishes, but this was the first time I enjoyed it so much! Lastly, the huge miso soup in a big bowl was a bold addition! With the opportunity to enjoy both grilled and sashimi mackerel, along with other outstanding sashimi dishes, I was completely satisfied with this set meal.

I went to have lunch on a regular day. I had been thinking of visiting this place for a while, but kept putting it off. Surprisingly, I was the only one in the restaurant. I ordered a delicious looking seafood bowl. It came with miso soup and pickles. The sashimi was all fresh and full of flavor. It's no wonder, being in Kushiro... The amount of rice under the seafood was just right for me. Among the sashimi, the tuna and shrimp were particularly delicious. If I have the chance, I would like to visit again. I'm also curious about the sushi restaurant on the first floor. I haven't seen the aquarium yet, so I'll check it out next time. Thank you for the meal.

The seafood bowl at the Kan Chan Shokudo restaurant is amazing. I skipped the luxurious breakfast buffet at the Lavista hotel, which includes unlimited salmon roe, and also passed by the Kachou Ichiba market's Kette-don. Instead, I drove my car straight to this popular restaurant located in the port of Kushiro. The fresh and delicious fish bowl here was truly divine. Each piece of fish was so delicious that it was almost moving. Indulging in luxury from the morning is forgivable. Many locals, probably regulars who work at the port, were dining here. The staff, who were mostly older women, greeted each customer by explaining the daily fish special (today we have hokke). The service was friendly and warm. All the regulars in work clothes were here for the morning special. I wonder what the pros in the field eat for breakfast. But I will definitely order the delicious seafood bowl again next time! When in Kushiro, I will definitely come back here!

In Kushiro, there is a restaurant called "Kush-chan Shokudo" that opens at 7 am for a delicious fish breakfast before the online meeting at 8 am on Saturday morning. It is located near Hokudai Street and only takes about 10 minutes by car from the hotel. We left the hotel around 6:40 am and arrived at the restaurant at 6:50 am. It was quite cold outside, so we waited in the car until the restaurant opened. As soon as it opened, 9 seats were filled, leaving only one table available. There were a few tourists and mostly locals. We ordered the sashimi set, which came with 4 kinds of sashimi and grilled mackerel for 1400 yen. The sashimi included flounder, sweet shrimp, salmon, and mackerel, each with 4 pieces. The miso soup had tofu and fried tofu, and a small dish of cod roe was also served. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and left the restaurant at 7:25 am, with plenty of time to make it to the online meeting.

Today's breakfast was at the "Kushiro Suisan Center" located in Kushiro Port, on the first floor at "Kush-chan Shokudo". They open at 7:00 in the morning. This restaurant is for people working at the port, so they offer a variety of affordable menu options. Today, I had the morning set meal (with fried egg) for 830 yen. It included half a portion of Kushiro mackerel, fried egg, rice, miso soup, natto, and salted squid. In terms of breakfast, it was pretty standard. They also offer seafood bowls, sashimi set meals, as well as other dishes like pork cutlet and stir-fried noodles in thick sauce, catering to those working at the port. It's a short drive from hotels on Kitaodori Street or near the station, about 10 minutes. If you're tired of hotel breakfasts, "Kush-chan Shokudo" with its daily changing menu might be worth trying out.

If you ate this at Tsukiji Market, they would probably charge around 5,000 yen. The freshness is exceptional. The sashimi is sweet and without any fishy smell. I wanted to try a variety of dishes, but for tourists, I recommend trying the special seafood bowl.

I visited Kushichan Shokudo for breakfast in Kushiro for the first time. The location is near the market office in Kushiro. It is on the first floor of the Fisheries Center. The exterior looks impressive with the Fisheries Center, and the interior is spacious with several tables for 2-4 people. It was 7:05 am. Since I had sashimi yesterday, I decided to go for grilled fish. I ordered the Eel Bowl for 1,160 yen (tax included) and the Grilled Silver Cod Set for 1,320 yen (tax included). The Eel Bowl was carefully deboned and had a rich flavor. The Silver Cod was thick and juicy, grilled to perfection. Next time, I will come back to try the seafood bowl. Kushichan Shokudo is open from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and closed on Sundays and holidays.

I arrived around noon and waited a bit, but the line wasn't too long. I decided to try the seafood bowl for 2200 yen. It was full of fresh and delicious ingredients. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere, with customers enjoying not only seafood but also curry dishes. I'm not sure if I'll go back again, but I was very satisfied with my meal.

If you go to Kushiro on a trip, be sure to have breakfast here. Since it is run by a local seafood processing company, fish dishes are definitely delicious. You can also enjoy luxurious seafood bowls at a reasonable price, but the recommended dish is the grilled fish breakfast set. The grilling technique is superb. I have never seen such plump mackerel before. I hope both tourists and locals will go and try it.

In Kushiro, I checked on Tabelog to find a delicious breakfast spot. Found a few options near the port. The earliest opening was "Kushichan Shokudo" which opens at 7 am. I arrived 15 minutes before opening and the area was quiet. I started to worry if they would really open at 7. But at 6:57, the place suddenly came to life and they opened right on time. Phew! There were many breakfast options, but I ordered the "Morning Set" with a side of grilled fatty sardines. When the "Morning Set" arrived, I was shocked by its lavishness. A splendid sashimi assortment took center stage, surrounded by sides like fried eggs, salted squid, potato salad, natto, and a big bowl of miso soup. It was a huge portion that I couldn't finish. Just the sashimi alone was a feast with fresh tuna, salmon, and sweet shrimp. The extra large sardines I ordered were also delicious with rich flavors. Totally worth the additional order. All this for just a little over a thousand yen. I envy Kushiro now.
