Welcome. ---------- August 2018 ----------A popular bar located at the junction of Route R36 and Sosei River, where the old Ampontan used to be. I thought the previous store was surprisingly long, but the next one still has the same popular bar atmosphere. The team leader, Tetchan, is in charge of creating a lively atmosphere with about 10 seats at the counter, private rooms for groups, and a second-floor seating area. The menu mainly consists of fish and rice dishes, which are cheaper than individual items. The all-you-can-drink option is 500 yen for 30 minutes, but if you stay for 2 hours, it's 2000 yen. Recently, there has been a trend of no seating fees or appetizers at some places, and this is one of them. The snacks included miso pickled cheese, which had a smooth cream cheese flavor with a miso sauce that complemented it well. The oxtail stew was sweet and salty with a hint of ginger, perfect for rice. The assorted sashimi platter included horse mackerel, bluefin tuna, salmon, squid, mackerel, and scallops, each with its unique soy sauce flavor. The tower of sashimi was visually appealing but created shadows. The chirashi sushi included negitoro, mackerel, flying fish roe, salmon roe, bluefin tuna, and salmon, all with a generous portion of rice. The tempura made from corn had a rich buttery flavor, although it may have been slightly greasy. Finally, we received a toy from the fortune slip, and Tetchan bid us farewell with a happy smile. It was clear that he was loved by the regulars. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I came to Susukino for dinner with friends who gathered late. The restaurant had several private rooms, and although it felt narrow at the entrance, there were more seats in the back. The appetizer that came out, yukke? Tsukune? It looked like a red ball wrapped in seaweed, and when I tried it, it was like a tuna tsukune and quite unique and delicious. The sashimi was also delicious without any misses! The zangi was juicy and crispy. I think it's convenient and good for coming with family or friends.

I have been noticing a lot of casual izakaya-style restaurants popping up in Sapporo recently, so I was curious to try one out. During my first visit, the energetic staff were very responsive and quick to take orders for both drinks and food. The "30-minute all-you-can-drink for 500 yen" deal seemed appealing for those looking to drink quickly, but the overall prices were unexpectedly high, with the bill coming to over 8000 yen for two people. The food portion sizes were a bit lacking, but the overall experience was decent.

◼️Saburo Izakaya All-You-Can-Drink for 980 yen. No information on the table charge. Tom Yum-style summer vegetable yakisoba for 890 yen. Ume shiso tsukune for 230 yen. Grated ponzu tsukune for 230 yen. Secret Zangi for 730 yen. Assorted raw meat sashimi for 1,100 yen. Dotemotsu stew for 550 yen. Eel and dashimaki for 760 yen. Went to eat Picanha+PLUS steak with a friend but it was sold out and closing early. Feeling disappointed, decided to try another place. Checked out about 10 places with all-you-can-drink, but couldn't get in anywhere. It started raining, my mood was down, and I was about to go home. On my usual way back, I saw Saburo shining brightly again. Finally, a chance to enter Saburo! I was seated almost immediately after they finished cleaning up. The place was packed, must be a very popular izakaya. The staff, who seemed to be the iconic one, had a great attitude. The tsukune was a bit overcooked and tough. It was a fun experience. Thank you for the meal. ❤️❤️❤️

It's a popular izakaya. They offer a 30-minute all-you-can-drink deal for 500 yen. We ordered a draft beer, a three-item sashimi platter for 1,000 yen, and a set of three hand rolls for 650 yen. The complimentary appetizers were chopped green onions with toro and pickled daikon radish. The daikon radish had a nice texture and complemented the tuna flavor. The hand rolls came with nori for wrapping and a choice of bonito soy sauce or kombu soy sauce. The sashimi platter included bluefin tuna, fresh scallop, and yellowtail from Ehime. The scallop was sweet and large, while the yellowtail was light and delicious. The tuna was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The hand roll set had eel and egg, salmon and salmon roe, and a special mix of sea urchin, tuna, and salmon roe. The eel and egg roll was tasty. We also enjoyed Katsugen Highball, Furano Hasukappu Sour, and Sanmyaku Mizuwari drinks. It was a great place to enjoy seafood at a good value.

I visited this restaurant when I traveled to Hokkaido. It was very convenient as it was near my hotel! There was a wide variety of drinks and food, and even my friends who are not good with alcohol were very satisfied. I went there late at night and it was bustling. I will definitely visit again when I go to Hokkaido. I highly recommend it to everyone!

The staff were polite and the food we ordered was all delicious. The seafood mini bowls had just the right amount of rice and high-quality ingredients. The Zangi was juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside. The Hokkaido potato butter was also amazing. Despite being a budget-friendly izakaya, the quality was top-notch.

Late summer with a fading white sky. The lingering warmth of the sun cooling down. After several days of good weather, it feels like autumn has fully taken over, with a hint of loneliness and melancholy in the air. It may be the reaction to the unusually intense heat of this summer, but looking back, it's hard to say goodbye. In this situation, what should I eat? The lunch menu board on the deserted street, which has been sparse for a long time, stood there looking desolate. I felt as though I was being stopped by the melancholy of a fleeting glance. I wasn't aiming for anything in particular. I was simply craving a satisfying meal. Alcohol disinfection and temperature checks have become a new normal that I have accepted. The enthusiastic shouts of the staff remained unchanged. But it was my first time having lunch at this familiar restaurant. There were famous dishes like Zangi and yakitori, sushi and grilled fish. Among them, what caught my eye was the "Saburo sashimi set meal." I left it to the cheerful female staff and ordered it. Even after 12 o'clock, the empty restaurant filled only with gaps felt blatantly gloomy, and the staff's enthusiastic shouts seemed to be trying hard to resist that. "Here is the Saburo sashimi set meal! We are prepared to take a loss!" Breaking through the gloom, what arrived was a selection of sashimi with no pretense of taking a loss. Tuna, medium fatty tuna, scallop, salmon, yellowtail, mackerel, horse mackerel, octopus, a lineup of eight varieties. While enjoying the colorful salad, I pondered how to tackle it, but slowly started with the octopus. The satisfying chewy texture absorbed the rice. Inadvertently, a quote from Karl Marx crossed my mind. "Man is the free being who controls his own destiny." Whether attacking the shellfish or the red meat next, the free being only needs to follow my will. The freedom to devour the lineup of eight varieties as I please. However, that freedom sometimes goes awry, and I underestimated the amount of rice. I miscalculated the optimal balance between the remaining sashimi and rice. The freedom that Marx speaks of, and the misjudged optimal balance of communism. Learning from a sashimi set meal that planned economy is unthinkable, I almost chuckled at myself. "The customer is leaving!" The staff's cheerful voice echoed in the restaurant as I left. Their refreshing farewell matched the clear blue sky outside...

When entering the store, there is hand sanitizing and temperature check. I have used this place for a party before. *Lunch Menu* Each for 750 yen: - Ken's Zangi Set Meal - Saburo Sashimi Set Meal - Yakitori Set Meal - Sushi Set Meal - Today's Grilled Fish Set Meal - Pork Cutlet Set Meal Comes with rice, miso soup, salad, and pickles. Rice is not included in the Sushi Set Meal. One free soft drink. I confirmed the contents of the Sashimi Set Meal and Sushi Set Meal with the floor staff. I asked if there was shimesaba because I like it. After listening to the explanation, I chose the Sushi Set Meal and requested green tea as my soft drink. Green tea was promptly served in a jug. Shortly after, the Sushi Set Meal was served. As a gesture of goodwill, the manager increased the 8 pieces to 10 pieces and added extra shimesaba. Thank you for your consideration. The 10 pieces include squid, shrimp, salmon roe, green onion and fatty tuna, flying fish roe, tuna, salmon, yellowtail, octopus, and shimesaba. There are no particularly high-end ingredients, but they are all delicious. I didn't confirm which ones were complimentary. There are two types of soy sauce, bonito soy sauce and kelp soy sauce. Since the vinegared rice is mild, I was recommended the bonito soy sauce. The sushi is soft and the size is just right for one bite. The mini salad is nicely colorful. The miso soup is seaweed soup. I would like to try the Sashimi Set Meal next time. (2021.07)

For better or for worse, I have a tendency to cut down on meal times during the day and night as my work concentration increases, and my sleep time also shrinks. Despite overcoming this onslaught several times in my life, aging dulls work efficiency and cognitive judgment, leading to a stagnating cycle. For the past two months, I have felt a loss of physical and mental energy, and even a loss of self-esteem. The future seemed dark, and the present was buried in rubble. However, I know from experience that this state is not eternal. When those nights finally start to revive, the neon lights of the shop seem like a glimmer of hope for the future. I was drawn to a corner of Susukino where the number of people was increasing little by little. As expected, the lively voices of young staff members broke the gloomy atmosphere in the sparsely populated shop. I sat at the back of the empty counter seats and ordered a one-hour all-you-can-drink deal, peeking at the menu. A glass of draft beer was brought to me. I drank the first glass in one gulp, as if washing away something in my heart, and asked for another draft beer. The alcohol seemed to bring out the fatigue and sleep deprivation that had been settling in. I first chose a sashimi platter with red tuna and mackerel, and then added "drooling chicken" and "Chinese cabbage kimchi". Confronting the fish and chicken, the overflowing freedom of drinking beer. Once again, the release from something that was hard to resist urged me to drink more beer. The spicy "drooling chicken" and the crispy onions with a good bite heightened my appetite and thirst for alcohol. After finishing the fourth glass of draft beer, the swirling fatigue dissipated with the alcohol. I ordered a highball and "pickled cucumber" and "salt and ginger zangi". The joy of the forgotten everyday life resurfaced. Enjoying this moment now without worrying about tomorrow is an ordinary but irreplaceable moment. The "salt and ginger zangi" arrived. I accepted the slightly over-fried zangi, the size of a fist, with the highball. The texture was strong due to being slightly over-fried, but the highball kindly accepted it. An hour of all-you-can-drink felt so short. A coat was essential for the still cold night in Sapporo. But in this night where I felt the cold, I felt joy...

Tomorrow is my day off from work, so we decided to go to a izakaya. I heard that there is a great deal called "GO to eat!" going on, so I searched diligently while on the train and managed to make a reservation (my husband helped, haha). We headed to a restaurant near the Genesis River. When we arrived and mentioned our reservation (made 30 minutes prior), they said they hadn't received the data yet. While many places only accept phone reservations last minute, we chose to reserve online. Soon enough, we were seated and informed that our reserved course (4,000 yen with all-you-can-drink, discounted to 3,000 yen with GO to eat) was available. We enjoyed a satisfying amount of sushi and steak.

After work, I was looking for a place to have a light drink and ended up stumbling upon a restaurant with 500 yen sashimi outside that caught my eye. I decided to enter, but was encouraged to register on an app. After registering, I received some free sashimi, which was not very impressive. I used a coupon from Tabelog for a 2-hour all-you-can-drink deal for 980 yen, but there was a requirement to order at least 2 dishes priced at 500 yen or more (sigh). I didn't want to lose out on the deal, so even though I was drinking alone, I managed to have 6 drinks (laughs). The 10 types of lemon sour were pretty good! I at least made up for the cost of the alcohol (laughs). I had the free sashimi, and for the 2 required dishes, I ordered a platter of 5 grilled skewers and enagawa with ponzu sauce. Unfortunately, there was no grilled saury as I had hoped. Drinking alone is not very cost-effective (sigh). Next time, I'll bring some colleagues along! Thank you for the meal.

After a consultation meeting, I visited a client's president at a popular izakaya that I don't usually go to. This place was a hit! They offer all-you-can-drink for 30 minutes at 500 yen with the option to extend. The izakaya menu was filled with delicious options like sashimi platter, simmered pork offal, chicken liver, salmon roe bowl, and corn tempura. I tried chicken liver for the first time and it was surprisingly delicious. The yellowtail here was incredibly fresh and thick! I highly recommend ordering it! We ended up ordering too much and had to call a staff member to help us finish everything. They also had soft drinks with free refills, which was a nice touch. I definitely want to come back to this place again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

It's been a while since we gathered. Our temperatures were checked at the entrance, and mine was 36.4 degrees. It seems we opted for a 5,000 yen course with all-you-can-drink. The organizer took care of everything. We started with a toast with a highball. The menu included sea urchin sashimi, a platter of 7 types of sashimi, crab salad, grilled hokke fish, grilled tsubodai fish, hairy crab, assorted tempura, beef, ikura and uni sushi, and dessert was melon. The portion was quite generous. We stayed until the last minute for drink orders. I wonder how many hours we were there. (Aug. 2020)

Upon entering, you can immediately feel the lively atmosphere with many customers. It's easy to imagine having a fun time and raising your spirits. The smoked salmon, grilled beef steak with green onions, seared fatty tuna, grated radish with ponzu sauce, and hand-rolled sushi with umeshiso are all delicious and traditional appetizers. The quality and taste are slightly higher than your typical cheap eateries, but worth the price or even more. Be careful, as it's easy to drink too much in such a fun place. Thank you for the meal.

Located along Route 2020/436 near the Sozoro River in Susukino, there is a casual izakaya-style restaurant called "RAKU Warai," which is currently offering a limited-time all-you-can-drink deal for free. I decided to check it out since I love affordable drinks. Surprisingly, even on a weekday, the place was quite crowded with customers. The 120-minute all-you-can-drink deal for 0 yen is a steal, but there are two conditions: you need to register for the restaurant's LINE account and order at least two dishes priced at 500 yen or more per person. The food options are a bit limited and slightly on the expensive side, making it challenging to meet the 500 yen quota with just a few items. We ended up ordering four dishes for two people, including asparagus grilled for 690 yen, fresh vegetable salad for 690 yen, assorted grilled chicken skewers for 750 yen, and grilled yam for 500 yen. The food was decent, but I felt that it didn't quite match the prices. Overall, it was a clever business tactic to ensure that each person spends around 2000 yen even with the minimum order. The experience was before the declaration of a state of emergency.

Before the self-restraint, last daytime drinking at the 4th place. Already a bit drunk. I vaguely remember the taste of the food haha. All-you-can-drink for 0 yen. However, the food quota is quite strict. You have to order at least 2 items per person, each costing over 500 yen. By the 4th place, my stomach was already full. I went for something light to eat... Salad, this is refreshing and good. The vegetables are fresh. Grilled asparagus, well, it's a bit overcooked haha, tastes burnt. The grilled chicken is okay I guess? The grated yam looks exactly like in the photo haha. The food is all on the expensive side. Maybe need to double-check when not tipsy?

Day drinking at the fifth bar, the last one. The time is normal though. This place I've been curious about has really loud music playing. The drinks are mostly around 400 yen each. There was a group already there, so we had to wait a bit for a table to open up. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We ordered a matcha highball, cassis orange, fried corn, assorted sashimi plate (free with Instagram follow), and avocado with wasabi. The total came to 2057 yen for two people, and we paid with PayPay. Surprisingly, we got a discount and ended up paying even less! Just by following them on Instagram, we got a delicious sashimi plate for free. The seafood here is really good. The fried corn was also amazing, especially with the butter they provided. It was so tasty. We also pulled a fortune slip on our way out and got a 500 yen discount for our next visit (we got a small blessing). It's a great deal since there's no minimum spending required. Looks like I'll have to come back here alone for another drink! The restaurant was clean, spacious, and I really liked it. I want to become a regular here. Thank you for the meal!

On 2019/07/16/TUE, went to the popular izakaya "Saburou" and then decided to move to another place for a bit more drinks. Visited a newly opened izakaya along R36 for the first time. It seemed like the focus of the food was more on seafood bowls and it felt more like a pub that transformed from a popular dining spot at night. Therefore, only ordered highballs without food. The restaurant was always packed and doing well, but personally, I didn't find it very appealing. It's just my personal opinion, so please forgive me. Getting ready for tomorrow, heading back home now. Thank you for the meal.

I had a one-night business trip to Sapporo. After finishing work, I took the subway to Susukino. There are many options to choose from, but this time I decided to leave the choice to the young staff. I found this restaurant through a friend's recommendation. It may not usually be my first choice, but sometimes it's good to listen to the opinions of young people (lol). They had a regular menu and recommended menu items. Since I was in Hokkaido, I decided to go for Hokkaido-style dishes like clam, corn tempura, grilled squid, dotenabe, and assorted seafood. I wanted to order a classic draft beer, but they only had bottled local beer and only one bottle left. So, I went with the lager in a bottle and made a toast. The dotenabe was served quickly, and although it's more of a Kansai dish, it looked delicious (lol). The portion size was a bit small though. The other dishes didn't stand out much. Grilled squid is something you see in many places, so it wasn't very impressive. The young staff did their best, but the older gentlemen in our group found it a bit lacking, so we decided to move on to the next place. Despite that, considering we had sake, shochu, beer, and spent around 2000 yen per person, it's a reasonably priced option for the younger crowd. Thank you for the meal, and off to the next spot.
