I had a sudden business trip to Hakodate, and after finishing work, I went out for dinner (drinks). My local colleague suggested a Japanese and pizza restaurant. I had been wanting to try that place, so I visited "Soru," which serves stone oven pizza, Japanese food, and drinks. We ordered Margherita pizza, ham cutlet, tempura of fresh squid with ginger, salad, and enjoyed beer, lemon sour, and highball. The total bill was around 5,000 yen per person, considering the amount of alcohol we consumed. The food was delicious, and we had a great time. Thank you for the meal!

I visited for lunch. I added pork cutlet as a topping to my curry. The crispy coating of the pork cutlet and the juicy, tender meat go well with the curry. The location is convenient at Goryokaku Koen Station, making it easy for working people to have lunch here. The stylish restaurant plays jazz music in the background.

I went to "Soru", a restaurant serving stone oven pizza, Japanese cuisine, and sake. I missed lunch and realized it was almost 3 pm. I thought about going to a chain restaurant, but when I searched for places where I could still have lunch at this time, I found this place. When I entered around 3 pm, there was one group of customers already there and one person came in after me. There were no staff members in sight when I entered. I was about to give up on having lunch that day when a staff member finally appeared from the entrance (laughs). There were counter seats available, but since it was an hour before closing, I thought not many customers would come, so I chose a table seat. I quickly checked the menu and ordered the "Today's Meat Cutlet Set" and an iced coffee. The cutlet arrived shortly with salad and two side dishes, which made for a well-balanced meal. The "Today's Meat" was cheese cutlet. The original tartar sauce was delicious, and the side dish of rolled omelette was just the right amount of sweetness. When it came time to pay, the waitress apologized for not being there when I entered. I didn't shout or confront her, but just having this kind of consideration made a big difference in my impression of the place. I felt like going back to a restaurant where the staff members can show this kind of consideration, so I will definitely visit again!

A pizza place with a unique touch. They offer thin crust pizzas and pizzas made with buffalo mozzarella. However, compared to authentic pizza places, it feels like something is missing. Other dishes were delicious too. Although I couldn't drink alcohol this time, they have a variety of wines and sake available, so I want to try them next time. The restaurant has two floors and even on weekdays, it's crowded. It's better to make a reservation.

I walked past the entrance to Goryokaku Park near the intersection, directly across from Hokkaido Bank, and found that "Soru," a restaurant serving stone oven pizza, Japanese cuisine, and sake, was open for lunch. The interior of the restaurant is spacious, with counter seats, tables, and sofa seating. The dinner menu seems to prioritize quality over quantity. They offer five different lunch options that change weekly. This time, I had the hamburger set meal (excluding tax: 980 yen). With a variety of dishes, it gives off an elegant and appealing impression that would surely be popular with women. It seems like a suitable place to spend a refined lunchtime.

It's a calm atmosphere where you can enjoy a leisurely meal. Today's recommended dish, the homemade smoked salmon and mascarpone, spinach pizza was really delicious. Mascarpone is usually associated with desserts, but when heated, its creaminess stands out and the flavor intensifies! We also tried the meat platter and gratin, both of which were delicious. I would love to go back again.

The stone oven pizza is delicious. There aren't many options, but they are tasty, perfect with Sapporo Classic beer! They also offer assorted sashimi and meat dishes, which would go well with sake. There are tables with shades and also counter seats available.

I had used Soru in Honcho before they changed their name, but I hadn't visited since then. I bought a bento from Coop because they were selling them. It was 700 yen, cheaper than other Goryokaku Bar stores, but the hokke was big, fatty, and delicious.

I'm currently on a business trip in Hakodate, and today my wife came to visit. She loves Hakodate so much. The purpose of her visit was to see the "Hakodate Christmas Fantasy" event, which we come to see every year. Usually, she brings a tree from Canada, but this year, due to a hurricane, she got a tree from Hokkaido. The tree was beautiful as always! One of the highlights of the Christmas Fantasy event is the soup bar where various shops set up stalls. Since we usually spend time outside looking at the trees, having a warm soup is a nice treat. This year, I tried the shrimp soup from the shop that was last year's top seller, "Soru." The price for all soups is 600 yen each. The official name of the soup I tried was "Crispy Creamy, Juicy Shrimp Baked Pot Pie." It's a ridiculously long and unclear name, haha. The shrimp was not visible in the photo because it sank to the bottom. The pie was too big, making it difficult to eat (or drink?). The taste was okay, like a thin cream stew. It was a decent meal! Next time, I'll visit the actual shop.
