Finally arrived in Muroran! And curry ramen!! Super excited and looking forward to it! ★ Curry Ramen 830 yen Stir-fried bean sprouts in a wok to make the soup. Amazing aroma. This is definitely it. The soup has a good thickness, although not too thick. The aroma is really nice. When you drink the soup, you'll be in heaven because of its deliciousness! The spicy curry flavored soup is incredibly delicious. It's not just a curry-flavored soup, it has a deep and rich taste. Different from any curry ramen soup I've had before. The noodles are thin curly noodles. They are much thinner than I expected, which was surprising. They are cooked soft, and they go perfectly well with the soup. Seriously, it's so delicious!! The chashu pork is also amazing. It's well-seasoned and flavorful. There are unexpected ingredients like "wakame" and "Chinese cabbage!?" Probably Chinese cabbage, but honestly, they are not the most fitting ingredients for this soup, yet they play an interesting role. It exceeded my expectations. I will definitely come back to eat this again!!

I usually order "color ramen" on a whim, but this time I decided to choose "curry cold dipping noodles." The noodles were the same as the ones used in curry ramen, but served cold, and the dipping sauce was a slightly smaller portion of the same hot soup used in curry ramen. Personally, I prefer the regular curry ramen because the soup tends to cool down quickly in the cold dipping noodles. However, when leaving the restaurant, I noticed that there were many people waiting in line outside because it is a very popular spot. Thank you for the meal.

This restaurant is famous for its curry ramen. Many customers ordered either the curry ramen or the cold curry tsukemen. The curly noodles with spicy curry were delicious. I should have added bean sprouts as an extra topping. I also ordered a small rice. The rice with curry soup poured over it was also delicious.

Curry Ramen for 930 yen, Small Rice for 150 yen. Visited around 1 pm on a weekday for lunch. The place was full so had to wait outside for a bit. It was hot. I came to Muroran, so I decided to try the famous Muroran Curry Ramen here. Despite the hot weather of around 30 degrees, I still went for the Curry Ramen. We had to wait a bit for the order to be served. It seems like there was only one person cooking. The staff for serving were okay, but not many around. The ramen had thin curly noodles that mixed well with the curry. It wasn't too spicy, but had a nice aroma of spices. The sweetness of the sautéed vegetables also added a nice touch. The chashu was flavorful and delicious. I also enjoyed eating the rice and then mixing it with the curry soup inside. You can keep going in an endless loop with the pickled radish. However, with the scorching heat, you need to be mentally prepared to eat this dish. I left the place all sweaty. There is a convenient shared parking lot nearby in the shopping district.

I went during lunchtime on a regular day, just before 12 o'clock, so I waited in line for about 10 minutes before entering. I didn't hesitate and ordered the curry ramen from the menu. In less than 10 minutes, the noodles arrived. The spicy curry soup paired well with the curly noodles. It was my first time trying it, but it was delicious.

I revisited this restaurant because I was very satisfied last time. I arrived at 11:50 am. The seating rate inside the restaurant was about 60%. I ordered the large curry ramen for 980 yen. The ramen was served at 11:57 am. The curly noodles were delicious as they were coated in curry soup. The curry soup had a slightly thick texture. It paired well with the chashu. By the time I left, the restaurant was full and there was a waiting line.

I visited the King of Curry Ramen, the best tasting in Japan, at the Oshu Rumon Main Store. I arrived at the store at 11:20 am. I was the first customer today. After that, more and more customers entered the store. Of course, I ordered the curry ramen with extra chashu. It was delicious. I'm glad I came.

I visited during a business trip to Muroran. It's a pretty run-down shopping street with few surviving stores. When I visited around 12:10, it was full. The curry ramen with curly egg noodles was delicious, blending well with the curry soup. I would like to visit again.

In Muroran, there is a famous ramen shop that has recently changed ownership. Their curry ramen is a popular dish that attracts customers from far away. While most people order the curry ramen, some also opt for the miso ramen. The chashu is delicious, but the curry ramen seems to have deteriorated in taste over time, with a watery soup lacking the original vegetable flavor. If this curry ramen was served at a new restaurant, it would be acceptable, but for those of us who have been enjoying the original Muroran curry ramen for over 40 years, it was disappointing. It made us realize how difficult it is to maintain the original taste of a dish over time.

It may not be in a league beyond local ramen, but for some reason, it was worth eating at this shop in Muroran. On the flip side, because of this shop, there are no other options to eat at a different shop in Muroran, so it's a dead end. If you visit, be sure to try it at least once.

The history of Curry Ramen starting from the two "Aji no O" The first Aji no O, which had once closed down, was revived in 1967 in Iwamizawa City. A disciple named Koyanagi joined there, and in 1971, a branch was opened in Muroran, creating the second Aji no O. The following year, in 1972, it was relocated to the current location in Muroran and has been there since. It has now become one of the four major ramen shops in Hokkaido, following "Miso" in Sapporo, "Shoyu" in Asahikawa, and "Shio" in Hakodate. As of April 2023, the rating is 3.58.

This is curry ramen. I decided to try it when I visited Muroran. The noodles are quite curly to easily soak up the soup. The taste was average, but I was craving this flavor after drinking the night before, so I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the meal!

Curry Ramen for 830 yen. When it comes to Muroran, it's all about yakitori and curry ramen. I chose the curry ramen for lunch. And when it comes to curry ramen, this is the place to go! I arrived early so it was not crowded, but it gets busy during lunchtime. Truly a popular spot!! The curry ramen here is the highlight, with a slightly thick soup, curly noodles, wakame seaweed, vegetables, and thick slices of chashu. Mmm, it's delicious! It's no wonder it's become a specialty here! Maybe I should have ordered rice too!? The chashu is tender with a good chew, and the noodles are well-coated in the soup. I'm satisfied!

The soup was like a thick curry soup, slightly spicy. The noodles were thick and curly, a bit soft and soaked well in the soup. There seemed to be about 1.5 servings of noodles, which might be too much for some people. It's a delicious ramen that some may love and others may not.

The famous restaurant that made Muroran curry ramen very popular is Aji no Daio, and this is the main store. It is located in Muroran City Honcho, on the side of Muroran Station. The parking lot is a bit far, and the parking lot in the shopping street is designated for customers. On this day, it was a weekday, but during the Obon period, it was almost 2 pm and the restaurant was full, with two groups of customers waiting outside. It's truly a very popular place. However...①After waiting outside for about 10 minutes, when it was my turn, a staff member came out and said, "Please go to the back of the counter." I entered the store promptly, but inside, there was no staff to guide me. So, I thought the corner of the counter was available, so I sat there. However, another customer who had gone to the restroom came back and said, "This is my seat..." What's going on... Surprised, I confirmed with the staff, and they told me there was another waiting area further back behind the counter, so I should sit there. The staff seemed overwhelmed by the large number of customers. Inside the store, there are 7 counter seats, 4 four-person table seats, and 4 two-person tatami seats. Autographs of famous people are displayed on the counter, showing the greatness of the main store. They have miso, salt, and soy sauce ramen, but you have to try the curry ramen here. In fact, only regular customers order something other than curry ramen. The noodles are medium-thick curly noodles, and the curry is spicy with ingredients like bean sprouts, seaweed, chopped cabbage, chopped green onions, and 2 slices of chashu. Delicious! It feels like putting noodles in soup curry from a delicious soup curry restaurant. I had a preconceived notion that the main store is better than the branch, and indeed, the main store lives up to its reputation. When I left, there were about 12 people waiting in line. The main store is truly different. Now...②After eating, I received an urgent LINE message, and although there were other customers in the store, I ate very quickly, about twice as fast as others, so I thought it wouldn't be a problem if it's just 2 minutes in total. I replied to the message, but then a man from the kitchen immediately said, "There are other customers waiting, so..." and urged me to leave. I said, "Oh, I see, I understand," and left the store in the middle of the LINE message. The LINE message took less than a minute, but it was indeed crowded, so it might have been better to leave without causing any inconvenience. It's understandable that it's a popular restaurant, but in terms of comfort, the score is slightly lower. I may not recommend it to first-time customers on holidays or weekends. In terms of taste, I think this store is the most delicious among the Daio chain in Muroran, but in terms of customer service, being rushed, etc., it ranks second in the prefecture in terms of discomfort.

Visited for lunch on Sunday, approximately 8 years since my last visit. Arrived at 1:20 PM, there were 4 people waiting outside but we were able to enter the restaurant quickly. After sanitizing our hands, we were seated at a 4-person table inside. I looked at the menu on the wall and ordered the Curry Ramen for 830 yen with firm noodles. There was a confirmation on how firm I wanted the noodles - slightly firm, medium firm, or very firm. I chose medium firm. I'll keep it a secret that I hesitated between ordering the Shoyu Ramen for 760 yen, which my child loved when we visited on a family trip before. The Curry Ramen arrived after a 10-minute wait. It was a thick type of curry ramen with green onions, bean sprouts, cabbage, wakame, and two slices of pork shoulder chashu. The curry had a classic flavor that would appeal to everyone. Since it wasn't spicy enough for me, I added a lot of chili pepper from the table. The soup is said to be pork bone-based, but the curry flavor overpowered it. The noodles were extremely curly, almost like dried noodles. It's worth seeing. It had been a while since I had eaten here, but it tasted even better than I remembered. While the origin of Hokkaido's curry ramen is at Daio in Tomakomai, the origin of curry ramen in Muroran is here. Both places serve delicious curry ramen. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I decided to try the local specialty ramen from Hokkaido, known as the "Curry Ramen," also referred to as the 4th ramen. The Muroran Curry Ramen, which is said to be delicious according to former Morning Musume member Natsumi Abe, who is from Muroran City, has become popular nationwide. I was surprised by the generous amount of char siu in the bowl. The char siu petals are in full bloom, definitely worth the 300 yen. In addition to that, it comes with toppings such as menma, negi, wakame, and moyashi. [Soup] The soup has a dark color but is not thick, it's rather light and smooth. It's not too sweet or too spicy, and has a good depth of flavor. It's not too salty and leaves a lingering spiciness in the mouth. [Noodles] The noodles, which were hidden under the char siu, have a strong curl and are medium-thick. They are chewy and it's inevitable that they get coated in the soup. For more information about the toppings and details of the restaurant, you can visit the link provided.

After finishing up some errands near Chitose, I decided to explore an area in Hokkaido that I had never been to before, and chose to visit Muroran. While heading to Muroran from Minami Chitose by train, I researched and decided to try various delicious local specialties. I arrived at Muroran Station and went to a place called Ajino Daio, known for its local specialty curry ramen. This restaurant is said to be the birthplace of Muroran curry ramen! Muroran curry ramen is the fourth local ramen in Hokkaido, following Sapporo, Hakodate, and Asahikawa ramen. It's located about a 6-7 minute walk from Muroran Station towards the shopping district, with a distinctive red exterior. Inside, there are counter seats, regular tables, and sunken kotatsu-style seating. Despite having quite a bit of luggage, the staff kindly allowed me to leave it there. I ordered the curry ramen (830 yen), of course. The soup had a surprisingly thick texture, with a noticeable spiciness and spice flavor. The homemade curly noodles paired well with the thick soup. The pork shoulder chashu was well-cooked and went perfectly with the spicy soup, adding a substantial presence. Other toppings included seaweed, green onions, and stir-fried bean sprouts. Personally, I felt that it was a dish worth trying while in Muroran.

In Muroran, Hokkaido, there is a curry ramen restaurant located in a quiet shopping street. This super famous restaurant has been featured on TV multiple times. The name of the restaurant is "Daio" and there are two locations, the Muroran main store and the Tomakomai head store. Both are separate establishments, and this particular store is the one that has attracted a lot of attention from celebrities. When I visited with a friend, we arrived around 5 minutes after the 11:00 opening time and it seemed like we were in pole position. More and more people came in afterwards and the restaurant quickly filled up. We ordered two servings of curry ramen. The regular customers were sitting in the tatami room and ordering butter curry ramen and other items not listed on the menu. The curry had a greenish hue rather than the usual yellow, and you could see small green grains in it. Was it coriander or seaweed? Leaving the color aside, the curry soup was very delicious and light. The noodles were interesting - they were curly to the extreme! I have never seen noodles like this before. They were cooked well, with a soft and slightly mushy texture that might divide opinions. The dish came with three large slices of chashu, bean sprouts, green onions, and seaweed as toppings. The noodles were so springy that they bounced around like a slinky, so be careful of soup splashes! Thanks for reading till the end. Ah, it was delicious! Thank you for the meal. Bonus: Shiratori Ohashi, Mount Usu, Mount Tarumae.

Around 1:00 PM, I visited a moderately busy restaurant with counter and table seating, as well as raised tatami seating. The place was not completely full, but there was a steady flow of customers coming in and out. The menu was displayed on the back wall of the restaurant, but most people were ordering the curry ramen with a side of small rice. I opted for the large serving of curry ramen priced at ¥930. The curry soup had a thick consistency with a base of dried fish, and it was served with short, curly noodles. The toppings included bean sprouts, cabbage, sautéed leeks, and soy sauce-flavored pork loin chashu. The ramen itself was delicious, with the curly noodles allowing the soup to cling on well. It reminded me of the curry soba soup from a nearby soba restaurant, and I found it to be a taste I would want to enjoy regularly if the restaurant was closer to me.

On Friday, before 12:10, there were only 2 people at the counter and we sat at a table in the tatami room. By 12:05, almost 90% of the restaurant was full, with customers including men in work clothes and families. The walls were decorated with signed posters, some of which were from celebrities like Hidetaka Kano, Hanawa, Orange Range, Akira Yasuda, and Keisuke Yamauchi. Many people were ordering curry ramen. The curry ramen cost 830 yen and came with homemade curly noodles that I had never seen before. The noodles were soft and tended to break easily, which bothered me as I prefer firmer noodles. Next time, I will have to remember to ask for firmer noodles. None of the other customers seemed to have ordered their noodles firm. The toppings included bean sprouts, large chunks of cabbage, fresh seaweed, and two slices of tender pork. The seaweed was fresh, which was impressive as most other places use dried seaweed. The pork was too soft for my liking. Overall, the ramen was tasty but I wasn't a fan of the soft, easily breakable noodles. I prefer the ramen at a different place. The restaurant also offered a paper apron service for members of the "Bunbun Club," featuring the mascot "Menbaru-kun" printed on it. However, as long as you eat carefully, the curry won't splatter.
