My partner seems to like fried rice (news to me). I was hesitant to just order fried rice at a ramen shop, so I searched for a Chinese restaurant and decided on this place. However, looking at the reviews, everyone seems to have mixed opinions. The storefront used to be a convenience store, and I couldn't see any convenience stores around, so maybe it should have stayed as a convenience store? Upon entering, a Chinese voice played on the sensor, which was a first for me and made me a bit nervous. The interior was dark, even though it was only a little past 1 pm, and the lighting made me feel like having a beer. Despite there being parking spaces available, the place was quite crowded. We wanted a table seat, but only a raised tatami area was open. I felt bad taking up such a large space with just the two of us. There was a diverse range of customers, which was reassuring. However, the menu was hard to read... even though it was in Japanese. Maybe because the menu was too extensive, the lighting was dim, or I just had low experience... So, I settled on the soy sauce ramen, which seemed easy to understand. My partner, after contemplating the extensive menu, decided on the fried rice and spicy ramen set. When we pressed the call button on the table, another Chinese voice played, and a staff member appeared. They took our order without writing anything down. With such a vast menu and a busy environment, it was amazing that they could remember everything without writing it down. While waiting, I wasn't bored due to the bustling atmosphere. I was a bit concerned that smoking was allowed, even during lunchtime, which is rare nowadays. In about 10 minutes, our order arrived. The soy sauce ramen came in a bowl that seemed like it could be used at a ramen specialty shop. The noodles were thick and chewy, delicious, but not quite suitable for soy sauce ramen, and it might get a bit challenging towards the end. The soup had a more Japanese taste than a Chinese restaurant, and overall, it was to my liking. As expected, the actual dish looked quite different from the menu photos, with plenty of ingredients! Nori, wakame, komatsuna, char siu, naruto, menma, boiled egg... maybe the ingredients change daily, which is why it looks different from the photos? My partner's fried rice from the set was tasteless in some parts, probably due to inconsistent seasoning. But it was a good deal with the set menu, so I didn't mind (as if it didn't concern me). The spicy ramen wasn't as spicy as expected. Thanks to the generous ingredients, we left feeling full. The extensive menu, good value for money, and the staff's excellent memory made it understandable why the place was always busy.
