This type of Chinese restaurant is often known for its generous portions and good value, but the one I visited this time was not as impressive. First, there was a discrepancy between the menu and the actual dishes. The Taiwanese ramen felt the most amateurish compared to other similar restaurants. In a way, it was easy to eat though (lol). The shrimp chili egg rice looked like it had three large shrimp in the photo, but in reality, there was only one small shrimp... Priced at just under 1,000 yen, it makes you wonder if the prices have gone up and that's why the quality has suffered, or if it was always like this. Disappointing.

I arrived at the restaurant attracted by the sign of shaved noodles. I chose the Leek and Liver Lunch for 780 yen, and upgraded to ramen for an additional 300 yen. The Leek and Liver flavor was delicious, with thin slices of liver and a bit less leek than expected. The Taiwanese Ramen had a light soup with star anise and minced meat. It was more like Taiwanese-style ramen than authentic Taiwanese ramen. The rice was not of high quality. I am curious about the Oyster Sauce Chicken and dumplings, so I will try the dumpling set next time!

It's been a while since I visited the Tomakomai area. A friend wanted to eat fried rice, so we stopped by this Chinese noodle restaurant on the way. The parking lot was full as usual. The menu is very extensive, but today we decided to order individual dishes since we plan to have dessert afterwards. My friend ordered Chinese fried rice instead of fried rice, and I ordered the seafood lettuce fried rice for the first time. The restaurant has clean and bright seating areas with partitions and tatami mats. They offer a self-service drink station with tea and coffee, which is nice. The lettuce fried rice was slightly moist, with shrimp, squid, and scallops mixed in, and the saltiness was just right. The texture of the lettuce was particularly good. The seaweed soup was also delicious. When I tried my friend's Chinese fried rice, I found it to be on the salty side, but I liked it. It had plenty of ingredients and was a good value for money. My friend enjoyed the Chinese fried rice so much that he ordered a bento box to go on our way back from Tomakomai.

A Taiwanese restaurant in Tomakomai. Today is my first visit in a while. The daily lunch specials are a good deal, but today I decided on the recommended mapo rice with yulun chicken and soup! The portions here are generous and the flavors are delicious. The lunch is also a great deal and highly recommended. Thank you for the meal.

I had been curious about it, but I finally got to go. I wanted to eat shrimp chili, but it wasn't on the lunch menu, so I chose it from the set menu. The portion was huge and there was a mountain of rice!! I was satisfied. I accidentally put my chopsticks on the bowl before eating. I'm sorry!

We made a reservation through Hot Pepper and visited the restaurant for the first time with three people. We ordered the set menu (salt ramen + fried rice) for 1,078 yen. We also had vanilla ice cream for 350 yen plus tax. The exterior of the restaurant looks like a former convenience store with a prominent red color. We arrived early but the restaurant was already open. The table seats have partitions which made it comfortable. All the staff are Chinese. The background music is reminiscent of Teresa Teng. The menu is extensive, but we decided on the set combination where you can choose your favorite noodles and rice for 980 yen plus tax. We chose salt ramen and fried rice. The ramen was a bit salty but the noodles were deliciously chewy. The fried rice was moist and flavorful. The ice cream was a bit hard as it seemed to be commercial grade. It's better to order it early. Coffee and tea are self-service and the coffee is a bit weak but it's complimentary. The set meal that my companion ordered had a huge portion with mapo tofu and a generous amount of chicken as a side dish. Many customers were taking food to go. More customers kept coming in. Thank you for the meal. Website: [website link]

I wanted to try a set meal at a noodle shop, so I ordered the "Koma Yaki Lunch." I wonder what it's like? When it arrived, it looked like a grilled meat set meal with pork koma as expected. But I wonder about the taste? Is it full of Worcestershire sauce? Spicy, with a sourness like vinegar when eaten with shredded cabbage, it's good. Is this a Chinese-style grilled meat set meal? I enjoyed it, finishing off with some pickled vegetables. Thank you for the meal today as well.

I have been to China twice and both times I noticed the same smell. It must be the spices. But I can't handle those spices, so I opted for a dish with wood ear mushrooms and pork stir-fry, which should not contain any of those spices. It was a great choice! It was incredibly delicious! The portion was generous and I couldn't finish it all. I'm sorry. Thank you for the meal! This dish had a very authentic Chinese flavor.

It's lunchtime and the clock shows 13:45, most shops are on their lunch break. So, I headed to "Menya Chuka" where lunchtime lasts until 15:00. I quickly ordered the weekly lunch special "Yurin Chicken Lunch" and it arrived promptly. The restaurant is located in a former convenience store and the staff are not all Japanese, giving it a slightly suspicious vibe. The taste seems to cater more to Japanese preferences. The weekly lunch special includes free rice refills and a complimentary coffee after the meal, which is appreciated. The coffee is a bit weak, but still acceptable. Overall, the experience was satisfactory. I barely made it back in the midst of a fierce storm in Tomakomai City... The snow was knee-deep and the roads were in terrible condition. It seemed impossible to drive out without slipping. Exhausted, my companion said, "I want to eat Chinese food. Is there a restaurant nearby?" so we ended up here. I was also in the mood for Chinese food. - Mapo Ramen: It wasn't bad, but it wasn't delicious either, a bit of a mixed feeling. I was hungry, but maybe I should have just ordered regular ramen. - Gyoza (Dumplings) for 280 yen: I thought it was cheap, but the sear was light... - Ankake Yakisoba: Ordered by my companion. It was simply delicious. - Black Pepper Butter Edamame: I couldn't help but order it... The seasoning with butter was very tasty, but the edamame inside was just regular, which felt a bit off. I thought maybe it would be better if I took out the inside and seasoned it with butter. I might try that at home. Thank you for the meal!!

At lunchtime, unable to decide what to eat, I passed by a restaurant called "Chinese Noodle" after 1pm. Despite it being past 1pm, there were four cars parked outside. It's not a trendy or high-class Chinese restaurant, so I wondered why. I entered and quickly got a seat. I ordered the weekly special "Sweet and Sour Pork Set" and the "Spicy Ramen + Twice-Cooked Pork Rice Set." I forgot to check the reviews by "Shooting Star," a place I had visited before, until after ordering. It seems like "Shooting Star" also felt the same aura. The staff were not all from the same country, giving off a unique vibe. The taste was average, neither good nor bad. - Weekly special "Sweet and Sour Pork Set"……¥680 (excluding tax) - Set "Spicy Ramen + Twice-Cooked Pork Rice"…¥780 (excluding tax)

Taiwanese miso + fried rice for 780 yen. The Taiwanese ramen feeling is erased by this ramen. If it had minced meat on top, would it be Taiwanese? I realized that miso doesn't make it Taiwanese ramen. Normal is best after all. The fried rice wasn't greasy and easy to eat. It seems like this restaurant doesn't suit my taste.

I went to Tomakomai because there was a coupon in Sports Nippon. The menu was extensive and cheap. I tried the miso ramen with egg topping. I wasn't expecting much, but the noodles were overcooked? Am I the only one who thinks I could make this at home? It was ¥630, so I guess it can't be helped. When I tried to use the coupon at the register, they said they didn't know about it... I was disappointed... I should have gone to Ajinoo Ramen... I regret it.

Tomakomai. If you're coming from Chitose Airport, just go straight on Route 36. Even if they tell you to turn, keep going straight. It's on the left side before the dead end (T-junction). There are about 10 parking spaces in front and on the side of the restaurant. Inside, there are table seats and a slightly raised area. The atmosphere is like a typical Chinese restaurant with high dividers between tables. On this weekday around 7:30 PM, there were 4 groups of customers already there, with a few more coming in later. A lively group arrived later, speaking loudly in broken Japanese, making it a bit overwhelming. Looking at the menu, I was surprised by how cheap some items were. The lunch menu was even more surprising in terms of affordability. I ordered Taiwanese tofu, fried rice, pan-fried dumplings, and stir-fried cabbage and wood ear mushrooms, which was enough for two people. The pan-fried dumplings were only 200 yen for 6 pieces, and the fried rice was 350 yen. In total, it was under 2,000 yen for 4 dishes. The Taiwanese tofu was cold, spicy, and surprisingly tasty. The fried rice was a normal portion size and had a simple, lightly seasoned taste. The egg soup that came with it was interesting and had a unique texture. The pan-fried dumplings were average, but given the price, they were acceptable. The stir-fried cabbage and wood ear mushrooms had a unique flavor and good texture. I recommend pairing the fried rice with the Taiwanese tofu sauce for a great combination. Overall, the food was not bad, and I wonder how the noodles would taste. The attitude of the staff may not have been the best, but I accepted it as part of the culture. One thing to note is not to order too much, as the portions are generous.

All-you-can-eat and drink for 3300 yen. It's really cost-effective. Recommended items are stir-fried offal, three types of dumplings, and seafood lettuce fried rice. We went with six people, so we were able to enjoy a variety of dishes. Even ordering individual items, fried rice is 350 yen, dumplings are 200 yen, and draft beer is 350 yen, so the total is less than 1000 yen. It's a restaurant we'd like to visit again.

My partner seems to like fried rice (news to me). I was hesitant to just order fried rice at a ramen shop, so I searched for a Chinese restaurant and decided on this place. However, looking at the reviews, everyone seems to have mixed opinions. The storefront used to be a convenience store, and I couldn't see any convenience stores around, so maybe it should have stayed as a convenience store? Upon entering, a Chinese voice played on the sensor, which was a first for me and made me a bit nervous. The interior was dark, even though it was only a little past 1 pm, and the lighting made me feel like having a beer. Despite there being parking spaces available, the place was quite crowded. We wanted a table seat, but only a raised tatami area was open. I felt bad taking up such a large space with just the two of us. There was a diverse range of customers, which was reassuring. However, the menu was hard to read... even though it was in Japanese. Maybe because the menu was too extensive, the lighting was dim, or I just had low experience... So, I settled on the soy sauce ramen, which seemed easy to understand. My partner, after contemplating the extensive menu, decided on the fried rice and spicy ramen set. When we pressed the call button on the table, another Chinese voice played, and a staff member appeared. They took our order without writing anything down. With such a vast menu and a busy environment, it was amazing that they could remember everything without writing it down. While waiting, I wasn't bored due to the bustling atmosphere. I was a bit concerned that smoking was allowed, even during lunchtime, which is rare nowadays. In about 10 minutes, our order arrived. The soy sauce ramen came in a bowl that seemed like it could be used at a ramen specialty shop. The noodles were thick and chewy, delicious, but not quite suitable for soy sauce ramen, and it might get a bit challenging towards the end. The soup had a more Japanese taste than a Chinese restaurant, and overall, it was to my liking. As expected, the actual dish looked quite different from the menu photos, with plenty of ingredients! Nori, wakame, komatsuna, char siu, naruto, menma, boiled egg... maybe the ingredients change daily, which is why it looks different from the photos? My partner's fried rice from the set was tasteless in some parts, probably due to inconsistent seasoning. But it was a good deal with the set menu, so I didn't mind (as if it didn't concern me). The spicy ramen wasn't as spicy as expected. Thanks to the generous ingredients, we left feeling full. The extensive menu, good value for money, and the staff's excellent memory made it understandable why the place was always busy.

In February 2019, I visited a popular Chinese restaurant located in the northern part of Tomakomai City, along Meino Kitadori. As the name suggests, it is a Chinese restaurant that also serves ramen, offering a wide variety of ramen dishes. The restaurant also has a rich selection of alcohol and can accommodate banquets, operating until 12:00 AM. The lunch set menu I tried allowed me to freely combine six types of noodles and nine types of rice dishes for 780 yen. I opted for the classic combination of "shoyu ramen" and "chahan" for my first visit. The ramen had standard toppings such as chashu, egg, menma, and bean sprouts, although the chashu was a bit unique. However, the soup lacked depth and the noodles were slightly disappointing. The chahan, on the other hand, was decent for its price. The restaurant's main appeal seems to be its generous portions and affordable prices. During lunchtime, they offer a variety of set menus for 680 yen, which includes the main dish, rice, soup, salad, and even free coffee with the option to add ramen for an additional fee. Overall, while the taste may not be exceptional, the restaurant is a good choice for those looking for a filling meal at a reasonable price. I look forward to trying other Chinese dishes on my next visit.

It's Sunday afternoon, and I decided to visit a Chinese noodle restaurant for the first time (better late than never, right?). Usually, I watch the TV show "Rumored Tokyo Magazine" on Sundays, and I particularly enjoy the segment "Try It Yourself!" where they try cooking different dishes. Last time, they made sweet and sour pork, which happens to be one of my favorite dishes, so I was really craving it. After finishing some errands at the hardware store, I thought about where to eat the sweet and sour pork. It was around 2 PM, and I would finish shopping around 3 PM, so I needed a place that didn't have a break in between. I thought about a Chinese restaurant called Warm China, but then I remembered a new place called Noodle Chinese, which used to be a Seven Eleven. I had been avoiding it because of the name and the small space, but after reading some positive reviews, I decided to give it a try. The restaurant seemed popular, and I was curious about their menu. I ordered the sweet and sour pork and decided to add fried rice to my meal. My wife ordered the Eight Treasures dish. The food arrived quickly, and the fried rice was delicious with a good amount of ingredients. The sweet and sour pork was also tasty, although I prefer more vegetables in it. Overall, it was a satisfying meal and a good value for the price.

After a long time, I encountered a hit! of a shop with the opposite meaning... In front of Komadai Tomakomai High School, it used to be a Seven-Eleven, then a soup curry shop, and now it has come to this. It's hard to explain, but this shop emits a suspicious aura (is it the name of the shop? the appearance?). I read reviews from everyone and entered the shop with some preparation. The inside of the shop is surprisingly clean and well-maintained. There is a button on the table to call the staff, and each time you press the button, a Chinese announcement echoes in the shop, saying "Ni hao! △□※×◎...". It was just a coincidence, but both the seats in front and behind me seemed to have Chinese customers, and Chinese was flying back and forth. It felt like a mini local trip. By the way, the staff also seemed to be Chinese. Hokkaido Yakisoba 780 yen The naming is also full of suspicion. For some reason, a fork is already stuck in it... It's really suspicious. First, the noodles are flat noodles about 4mm thick. It has some burnt marks, but it doesn't feel well-cooked. The sauce is salt-based, but unlike typical popular Chinese dishes, it also has a slight soy sauce flavor and a mild taste... And the amount of sauce is "overwhelmingly small", with a large amount and variety of ingredients, but very little sauce to coat them. So, you can't enjoy the vegetables and noodles comfortably. In the latter half, you end up feeling like you're just eating noodles and ingredients, so you try to get through it by changing the taste with vinegar, but finishing it is impossible. The soup is also thick, junky, and mysterious. Suspicious... Even for those strong enough to still want to eat after reading this review, please go with determination and self-responsibility! There may be some hits in other menus, but this shop is probably best enjoyed as a place to fill your stomach with set menus or lunch menus.

■Knife-cut noodles 820 yen. The flavor is slightly plain but not bad. Considering the price and portion size, it would be appreciated by those who prioritize those aspects. A usable restaurant.
