Feeling like a tourist, I visited Ramen Yokocho and decided to try out the famous old ramen shop "Higuma" that I've been curious about for a while. It's located towards the back of the Yokocho. The interior of the shop consists of only a counter with seating for about 7-8 people. It's impressive that they have been in business for over 50 years! The miso ramen is recommended, but I was also interested in the miso butter corn. I ended up ordering the most popular item, the rich miso ramen (1000 yen). Since there is only one owner working, you may have to wait a bit if there are customers ahead of you. It was served in about 15 minutes. The noodles were medium-thick and slightly curly, which I like. The soup seemed to be based on red miso, which was a bit different from what I imagined. The richness wasn't as strong as expected, but it was still delicious. The bamboo shoots were really tasty!!! I finished every last drop. It was a consistently delicious ramen that doesn't get boring. Exploring Ramen Yokocho is quite enjoyable. I look forward to going back again soon.

For me, this is a go-to spot after a drinking party. I love Ramen Yokocho, so I used to go there often. The shops near the entrance are popular among foreigners, while the ones in the middle are mostly Japanese. So, there are no long lines. Just note that the shops have limited seating, so it may be difficult to get in with a large group. My favorite is this Higuma shop!! Their miso ramen is the best. The noodles are delicious, but the miso soup is just amazing. The owner who carefully boils the noodles is great, and I love the shop itself. I think they also have a spicy miso? I remember trying it, but the miso flavor is the best! There are many other ramen shops, but I highly recommend trying this one. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely visit again.

The top choice for the last meal was miso ramen, but the first option had a long line, so I went to Higuma in the alley. It was full inside, but there was no line outside, so I waited about 10 minutes to be seated. I had the rich miso ramen. It was delicious, both the curly egg noodles and the soup. It was different from Tokyo-style miso ramen, with a deep and flavorful taste. I had quite a feast that night, but didn't feel any indigestion the next day. Good stuff. Thank you for the meal.

The other day, I had lunch with my junior colleague at Sapporo Ramen Yokocho, which I visited for the first time. There were several shops lined up on the street, so we took a walk around first. They all looked delicious! However, since it was a little before 12 o'clock, the number of available shops was limited. We decided to go to Higuma Ramen, where the ramen with ground meat caught our attention. The shop only had the manager inside, who was quite friendly. Soon after, some tourists also came in. I ordered the Higuma rich miso ramen with 3 slices of char siu on top. Meat! Meat! Meat! The dish was served efficiently. First, I tried the soup. It was less oily than the usual Sapporo miso ramen, with a hint of acidity. The toppings included ground meat, char siu, seasoned egg, bamboo shoots, and green onions. The noodles were curly noodles. In Sapporo, where miso ramen is typically rich, this ramen had a refreshing taste. I scooped up the ground meat with a perforated ladle and finished every last bit. It might have been nice to have some rice too. Thank you for the meal!

"Higuma Yokocho Honten" in Susukino Ramen Alley! Established in 1972, this long-standing shop offers the "Higuma Rich Miso Ramen" for 1,000 yen, with an additional 350 yen for 3 slices of chashu topping. It was delicious! This is the classic Sapporo miso ramen! The soup is thick and rich miso, as shown in the photo. It has a strong flavor and goes perfectly with the curly noodles. It was so delicious! I was completely satisfied with this bowl! Thank you for the meal!

It had been a long time since my last visit, but this was my second time here. When I come to Sapporo, I always crave miso ramen, but there are so many options to choose from. A gourmet friend recommended Higuma to me, and I had a good impression of it, so I decided to revisit. It did not disappoint. I watched as they cooked the curly egg noodles right in front of me, the aroma was enticing. They boiled the soup in a pot at the back and quickly mixed it all together. Some places use a frying pan to sauté the ingredients before boiling, but here it was done differently, and it was delicious. The piping hot miso soup had a rich flavor that truly embodied what miso ramen should taste like.

I entered the restaurant at 9:30 PM and luckily there were 10 seats available. I ordered the Higuma miso ramen for 1000 yen. Eating miso ramen late at night is my guilty pleasure. I absolutely loved Higuma's version, it's a bit different. It comes with a boiled egg, naruto fish cake, and coarse ground meat. The portion size was a bit small but the homemade aromatic oil really whet my appetite. I finished it all in one go. Delicious! I even drank all the soup. Thank you very much.

I visited Ramen Higuma in the Original Ramen Street. It's been 25 years since my father brought me here when I was in elementary school. The miso ramen was mild in flavor and the noodles were yellow like Nishiyama Ramen. It was delicious!

After eating yakiniku at GINGA, I tried to go to Sumire nearby but there was a long line, so I gave up and went to the long-established ramen shop Higuma in Ramen Alley instead. When I was in elementary school, my parents took me to the Sapporo Snow Festival for the first time, and the first ramen I ever ate was at Higuma on the way back. I couldn't help but be drawn to the nostalgia. I ordered Sapporo miso ramen for myself and rich miso ramen for my wife. I felt a sense of nostalgia with the simple old-fashioned miso ramen, but I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed, whether my taste buds have changed or the flavor has declined. I hope they can keep up with the Sumire series and do their best. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by Ramen Yokocho and decided to eat at this one place. It was a small place with only a counter, and the friendly owner was the only staff member, chatting with customers and managing everything alone. I ordered the miso ramen. I heard on TV that people from Hokkaido don't put butter on their ramen, but I tried it here. The owner mentioned that the broth was not too strong, and I found it to be mild and delicious, finishing every last drop.

The small and cozy interior of the restaurant. I had the butter corn miso ramen. First, I tried the soup before the butter melted, and it was delicious. When the butter melted, the soup became rich and the corn was crunchy. The noodles were incredibly delicious.

After enjoying Genghis Khan at Ajinoyama Hill, of course, the perfect way to finish off the meal is with ramen! I wandered around Ramen Alley. Such a nice atmosphere. The night is getting late, and the cold is starting to bite. After some hesitation on where to go, I ended up at Higuma. The interior has only a counter, and it's small, with only 6 seats. I ordered the miso butter corn ramen, of course. It's over 1000 yen, but since I'm here, why not! After a short wait, the bowl is passed over the counter to me. The miso aroma rises gently. I mix in the butter and take my first bite. Wow! This miso flavor is amazing! The richness of the butter adds to the deep taste. I slurp up the noodles. They have a good chew and great flavor. They use Nishiyama noodles. The curly noodles mix well with the soup. The corn is juicy and there's a lot of it. The sweetness is perfect. This is the best miso ramen I've ever had! My stomach was quite full, but I managed to finish the soup in one go. Thank you, Higuma. Until we meet again. Bon appétit!

Around 11:30 on Tuesday, November 15th, the small restaurant was only open for counter seating. The owner was friendly. * Miso ramen for 900 yen * Canned beer for 400 yen The noodles were curly noodles from Nishiyama Seimen. The flavor was not too strong, but you could still taste the miso. It was a delicious ramen that I haven't had in a long time!

Today's mood is miso. The taste is clear and unmistakably miso, which is hard to resist. When I eat rich miso, I always think, "I'm glad I ordered the rich miso!" But sometimes I also crave simple miso, it's strange^^; It goes perfectly with yellow curly noodles.

A shop in Susukino, Sapporo. It is a long-established shop celebrating its 50th anniversary. Located in Ramen Yokocho, I went there last night and it was incredibly delicious, so I went again for lunch today. I ordered: - Miso Butter Corn Ramen for 1100 yen I was surprised by how delicious it was! Underneath the green onions, there were plenty of bean sprouts soaked in the flavorful soup. The minced pork had a nice meaty texture and flavor. Melting the butter into the rich soup was so tasty. The noodles from Nishiyama Seimen were like al dente pasta. Even though the staff was different from last night, when I told them I had come yesterday, they gave me a free egg as a service. I've found a shop that I can't get enough of! Thank you for reading until the end. If you found this helpful, please save the restaurant and give it a like. Feel free to leave a comment, and I will reply. I hope this information can be of some use to everyone. My Instagram is also updated. HIDE GOURMAND【@hide06_21】

A shop in Susukino, Sapporo. It is a long-established shop celebrating its 50th anniversary. I was unsure where to go in Ramen Yokocho, but the name sounded good so I decided to try it. I ordered: - Higuma Kokumiso for 900 yen (Miso ramen recommended for those who like rich flavors, made with a sauce used for meat miso and additive-free homemade aromatic oil to bring out the richness and depth of flavor) - Sapporo Classic canned beer for 400 yen. I was surprised by how delicious it was! This ramen is so tasty! I couldn't believe there was such a delicious ramen in the alley! Under the green onions, there were plenty of bean sprouts soaked in the soup. The minced pork was so meaty! The meat miso was rich and deep in flavor. The noodles from Nishiyama Seimen were like al dente pasta. I found a shop that I might get addicted to (*^▽^*) Next, I want to try the miso butter ramen. Thank you very much for reading until the end. If you like, please "save the shop" and "like" it. If you leave a comment, I will reply. I hope this review can be helpful to everyone, even a little. ▽I also update Instagram: HIDE GOURMAND【@hide06_21】

More than twenty years ago, I had delicious miso ramen at a drive-in on the way to Niseko Ski Resort in Hokkaido. Since then, I've been on a quest to find my favorite Sapporo miso ramen. I found a shop that serves my preferred miso ramen, although it may be a different type of miso from what I had before. The menu offers various options, but I usually go for either "miso" or "rich miso" depending on my mood. Some people prefer the soy sauce-based ramen, which has a unique flavor different from Tokyo's soy sauce ramen. However, I always go for the miso ramen. The noodles are yellow, medium-thick, curly noodles unique to Sapporo (different noodles are used for soy sauce ramen). You can see that they carefully boil the water and cook the noodles behind the counter. The miso broth is quite sweet and has a gentle miso flavor, not spicy. The soup pairs well with the noodles, creating a delicious combination. It's not overpowering and remains tasty until the last sip. The rich miso has a meat miso flavor that adds richness and depth to the overall taste. It has a stronger saltiness and spiciness, but the sweetness of the miso base is comforting. The standard toppings include green onions, chashu pork, menma (bamboo shoots), egg, and meat miso, making it beginner-friendly. The chashu pork is not the typical braised style but rather a roasted pork that is flavorful without being too salty. The shop has a small, square counter that can seat about ten people (like most ramen shops in Ramen Alley). The operation during lunchtime is a bit slow as there is only one person managing, so there may be some waiting involved. However, the careful preparation makes the wait worthwhile. If you're lucky enough to find it not too crowded, you'll become a regular customer in no time.

Higuma Kokumiso Ramen for 900 yen is located near the Nikka Whisky intersection, right next to the original Sapporo Ramen Alley. I flew from Kushiro to Sapporo and arrived at the alley around 8:30 PM on a weekday. Some of the shops were closed, so I decided to go to this place as my second choice. There were a few counter seats available, so I was able to get in quickly. This place doesn't use a ticket system, you order directly from the owner who also handles the payment while cooking. They have a special menu called "Night Crying Ramen" only available at this location, giving it a Susukino nightlife vibe. I decided to try their recommended Kokumiso Ramen. The noodles are not cooked in a pot but in a pan, and they change the water for each batch. The flavor was as expected, with a deliciously rich taste. The combination of miso and animal fat is unbeatable. The noodles were the classic yellow curly noodles of Sapporo ramen. The minced meat and the perforated ladle were tempting me to order rice. In terms of richness and thickness, on a scale of 1 to 5, this place and Tenho are the only two shops with a rating of 4 for both. It's not about being extremely rich, but rather about maintaining a good balance where each flavor comes through. If I come back next time, I might end up coming here again, in addition to trying other shops. Delicious, thank you for the meal.

I used to look forward to meeting the veteran staff working late at night at Higuma, but this time when I went to Sapporo, the shop was closed. On the last day, I went a bit earlier and found the shop open, but the usual staff was not there. The current staff told me, "That person has retired." So now, they close around 10 pm because there is no one to work late at night. It's a bit sad, but the taste of Higuma remains delicious.
