I made a reservation for a party at 55 Building next month, so I stopped by this restaurant on my way back from the beer garden at Odori Park. The online reviews were good, but when I asked what "Kunimare +2" was, the staff couldn't answer. And when they asked me if I wanted warm or cold sake, I asked if they could serve it cold, meaning at room temperature, and they brought it chilled from the fridge. If they specialize in seafood, they should also study sake more. But the food was all delicious, and the drinks came quickly. For this visit, we opted for the cheapest all-you-can-drink option and only ordered one glass of Kunimare, so the total cost went up by 4000 yen per person for a la carte dishes. Maybe this restaurant is more suited for parties in terms of cost performance?

Family trip to Hokkaido! Yay, my first time in Hokkaido! The restaurant I went to, Izakaya Imari, is located just a 1-minute walk from Odori Subway Station. When in Hokkaido, you have to try the seafood - it's so fresh and delicious! We ordered plum wine soda, oolong tea, and orange juice for drinks. Of course, we also ordered more than enough oysters, which were plump and perfectly seasoned. The sashimi platter was amazing, with fresh and large pieces of fish. The medium fatty tuna was so tender and flavorful, and the sweet shrimp miso was a delight. The sushi, abalone, and sea urchin were all delicious. The beef steak was tender and tasty, and the tempura was crispy and delicious. The sherbet was a refreshing end to the meal. Hokkaido truly has the best seafood, and I can't wait to visit again. Everything was so delicious! Thank you for the wonderful meal! ❤️

Located near the Subway Odori Station and right in front of the Streetcar Shichome Stop. It's a convenient and easy-to-find spot. They offer a premium all-you-can-drink option for an additional 500 yen with their party course for 4000 yen. They also serve blowfish sashimi, making it a high-value party option. Another great thing is that they have completely private rooms. It's a great place to have a fun time with friends.

This time, I had been trying to make a reservation online for a while but it was always fully booked. Finally, I was able to secure a reservation and visited the restaurant. You can order a variety of meat, vegetables, and deep-fried skewers repeatedly. The course included sashimi and fried food, which was great. Unlike other all-you-can-eat places where it takes a long time for the food to arrive after ordering, the skewers and hot pot ingredients were served promptly. The only dipping sauce available for the hot pot was ponzu, and as a sesame lover, I was disappointed to find out they didn't have it when I asked the staff. It would be better if they offered a choice of sesame sauce as well. I would like to visit again in the future.

Even in these times, you can drink with peace of mind. Completely private rooms. However, the sound leaking from the next room is quite noticeable... Being a chain restaurant, they offer a wide variety of food, but the taste is generally average. There wasn't anything that stood out as particularly delicious. The raw oysters were decent, but at 300 yen for this size, it felt a bit expensive. The assorted sashimi platter seemed to be popular, but the fish was just average. It might be similar to buying fish at a supermarket and arranging it yourself. Well, it's cheap, so that's a plus. The fried oysters and tempura skewers were also just okay. There wasn't any particular dish that stood out, but it's a casual izakaya, so that's to be expected. The all-you-can-drink alcohol was typical for such offers. We stayed for about three hours with three people, and it came out to a little over 3000 yen per person, so it's definitely affordable. Looking at the receipt, there were items counted that we didn't order, but some items we did order were not counted, so in the end, it balanced out and we didn't end up losing money. Overall, considering everything... it's a good place for a casual private room gathering for a second round of drinks.

I made a reservation for a 3,980 yen course (with a 150-minute all-you-can-drink option) with three colleagues and visited the restaurant. We were guided to a private room with an open ceiling where voices could be heard, but it was definitely a private space! We started with a toast with beer and enjoyed the appetizer of high-quality tofu and fresh fish (sushi and sashimi). We then had a steamed hot pot with crab, abalone, oysters, shrimp, and vegetables with ponzu sauce. Next, we had a delicious beef steak with great seasoning and cooked to perfection. This was followed by a dish of white fish with a green onion sauce and fried items. The meal ended with udon noodles and a refreshing sherbet for dessert. The drinks were good, the food was tasty, and overall, I think it was a great value for the price.

After work detour series. On this day, I decided to have a light drink with friends near Odori Park before heading home, and we were intrigued by a sign in front of a building and decided to check out "Imari Odori Station Front Store". It's an izakaya with private rooms for each group. We took off our shoes at the entrance and were guided to a tatami room for four people. Since it was already past 9 p.m., we used a coupon for a 120-minute all-you-can-drink deal including Ebisu draft beer for 1050 yen, and ordered dishes separately. The first drink was taken by the staff, but for the second drink onwards, we used the touch panel on the table. The time between ordering and the drinks being served was impressively fast! Maybe because it was late and the kitchen was nearby. We just wanted something light to eat, so we ordered the seafood platter and assorted skewers (pork, local beef, asparagus, onion). The skewers were larger than those at cheap tempura shops and quite satisfying. You pour the sauce yourself rather than dipping the skewers. You can order individual skewers at a reasonable price. The seafood platter was quite impressive in terms of presentation. There were many types and it was a bit too much for two people. The freshness was decent, but the sushi was a bit average. Still, at 990 yen, it was quite affordable. I ended up liking the skewers more than the seafood, but there are other seafood options on the menu and with private rooms, it seems like a good place to drink cheaply with a few people. I'll come back again next time. Thank you for the meal!

It was a private room izakaya and I was led to a room at the back. Even though it was a private room, I couldn't help but notice the neighboring voices coming in. The drink selection was normal. There were quite a variety of food options. The beef with wasabi that I had was quite playful.

July 2018, First Visit
We gathered for a drinking party of the organization from when I was the boss, which usually happens at the end of the year. This time, the former squad leader from back then got promoted, so we decided to celebrate with just the people who could make it, but once again, people came from all over. The perennial organizer, who used to be a young member, is now a solid mid-level employee. It's nice to see everyone doing well. The organizer always chooses a cheap izakaya, so I wonder what it will be this time. First, we all raised our glasses to celebrate the former squad leader's promotion. The taste of the sake for this kind of celebration is exceptional. The sashimi and fresh oysters were also good. There were also thick-fried tofu, sautéed meat, and salad. There were other dishes as well, but I couldn't take photos. As always, we spent two hours chatting and reminiscing about the past. It was a fun time as usual. All this food and drinks for only 3,500 yen. The organizer this time, your skills have improved, and there's no doubt you'll continue to climb the ranks.
