On a certain weekday, I had lunch and had some energy left, so I bookmarked a restaurant located at North 6th Street, West 20th Street, which serves Korean cuisine. There is parking space for about 1 car. The interior of the restaurant is compact with a reception counter, and if there are available seats, they also offer eat-in service. The background music is K-POP playing at a decent volume. On this day, I ordered the "Janchi Kimbap (850 yen tax included)" and a local drink called "Watermelon Soda (360 yen tax included)" from the menu due to price considerations. After a while, the dishes were ready. The aroma of sesame oil rising up is pleasant. Let's take a bite... Hmm, it has a well-balanced flavor that can be easily accepted by Japanese people. The kimbap wrapped in Korean seaweed sprinkled with white sesame seeds contains fluffy vinegared rice with a hint of vinegar, and the main ingredients are tuna with lettuce, carrots, burdock, shredded egg, and pickled radish, I think? The portion was unexpectedly generous and satisfying. The complimentary egg soup was pleasantly sweet, and the soup base seemed to have a slightly different dashi flavor from Japanese ones. Next, the Watermelon Soda was... oh, it seemed to be a carbonated drink with watermelon flavor syrup, probably without any fruit juice. The Yan-nyeon chicken served as a service was... wow, the quite sweet sauce with a lingering spiciness after the fried chicken, and the nutty aroma of crushed nuts was excellent. It seems like a good appetizer for beer. Finally, I finished with a warm local tea. I realized that the pricing was slightly on the higher side, but it was nice to enjoy a proper kimbap. Maybe next time, I'll try a spicy hot pot dish? Thank you for the meal.
