I visited this restaurant during my business trip to Sapporo around lunchtime. When I arrived, there were already people lining up outside. The prices were reasonable for the portion size, and the sushi was very delicious. The staff were polite and well-groomed. I will definitely come back to eat here when I visit Sapporo again. I ate a seafood bowl full set at Donburi Chaya Sapporo Nijo Market store! I think I ate snow crab for the first time in my life. Sea urchin is so delicious! The sweetness of the botan shrimp is addictive! I was able to finish this amount from 9 in the morning thanks to the overwhelming deliciousness.

Today's morning was spent at the Shin-Nijyo Market in Sapporo. Let's have breakfast at "Donburi Chaya" restaurant. Since it is Sunday, there is a long line already in the morning. Let's pass the time by playing a smartphone game. After about 20 minutes of waiting, we were seated at the counter inside the restaurant. It's a holiday treat, so let's have a morning beer. I ordered a Sapporo Classic draft beer. It tastes even better after a morning bath. After about 6 minutes of enjoying the draft beer, my special bowl arrives. It includes tamagoyaki, tuna, salmon, herring, botan shrimp, salmon roe, sea urchin, crab, and scallop. Although it's a seafood bowl, I was surprised to see tamagoyaki included. The seafood was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was filled with foreign groups and couples only, no solo males. Everyone seemed to take a lot of time for taking photos before eating and chatting after the meal. As a timid person, I could only eat quickly and leave. I wondered if having a thicker skin like that would make someone a winner in life. Let's head to the airport now. Thank you for the meal. Donburi teahouse. Located in Sapporo's Nijo Market, a place often seen on TV. It was my first time here! As expected, they specialize in seafood dishes. It was quite crowded. I think I waited in line for about 20 minutes. There were also visitors from overseas. Inbound tourism is increasing. I ordered the ikura, scallop, and crab donburi with a soup. It was delicious. The portion was generous and I left feeling full! Thank you for the meal.

Donburi tea house inside Nijo Market. New Market Donburi (¥2,980), Tuna Teriyaki Donburi (¥2,100), Scallop Butter Soy Sauce Grilled (¥600), Draft Beer (¥570). Oh? The desired restaurant was closed, so I decided to try this one. I entered as soon as it opened and looked at the menu. I wanted to have grilled saury, but it was only available from 9 o'clock. I ordered a bowl with tuna, salmon roe, and sea urchin while drinking a draft beer. The dish was served in a small bowl and seemed to be prepared by a part-time staff member. The dish was just pieces of fish on top! The miso soup was also watery and not to my liking. The draft beer was the only thing delicious, but it was priced for tourists!

I ordered the fishing ground bowl because the bowl with roe and salmon was not in large size. The roe tasted completely different from the ones sold in Tokyo. When you come to Hokkaido, you should definitely try the seafood bowl first. It was a busy time when I went, but the staff at the restaurant were very friendly and made me feel comfortable while dining.

Visited on 09/16/2022 at 13:00. Although there were empty seats inside the restaurant, the cleaning for COVID-19 prevention was a bit behind, so I had to wait for about 10 minutes. The surrounding seafood bowl restaurants charge over 4,000 yen, but this place offers affordable options. The line gradually got longer. I ordered the Fishing Boat Bowl with miso soup (scallop) for 2,480 yen. It was served in about 10 minutes. The bowl was small, but it had a generous amount of rice and delicious crab, sea urchin, and salmon roe. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Located inside Sapporo Nijo Market, "Donburi Chaya Sapporo Nijo Market Store" is a donburi restaurant started by the fishmonger "Marusei Chiyomizusan" at Nijo Market. They also have stores at New Chitose Airport and Otaru Sakaimachi Street, boasting fresh seafood directly from the market. The location is easily accessible from Susukino Station and Odori Station at Nijo Market. The indoor passage along the market allows you to enjoy market meals in a convenient location. The exterior design allows you to see how crowded it is inside. The interior has a fisherman town atmosphere with fishing flags and folk songs playing, resembling a Northern-style bar. There are about 7 counter seats and 6 tables. During Sunday lunchtime, there was a line outside the storefront, but we were able to enter without waiting as only half of the seats were occupied. They offer around 50 types of seafood bowls ranging from 2,000 to 3,000 yen, as well as 9 types of seared bowls, grilled dishes, sashimi, and more, making it a delightful lineup that may overwhelm you. After carefully examining the menu, we ordered the following on this day: - Ouryoudon (Large Fisherman's Bowl) 2,980 yen - Miso Soup 200 yen The dishes arrived in about 8 minutes. The fresh ingredients arranged in a radial pattern on a flat plate were visually stunning. The toppings included tuna, salmon, hamachi, enagawa, botan shrimp, snow crab claw, ikura, kazunoko, and tamago, truly a bountiful catch. We dipped each piece of topping in wasabi soy sauce, enhancing the fresh texture and unique flavors of each. The soft saltiness of enagawa paired well with the vinegared rice, and the salmon and ikura offered a distinct Hokkaido flavor. The recommended miso soup, not listed on the menu, contained baby scallops, providing a concentrated taste of scallops in each of the 4 small pieces. While savoring the deliciousness of each topping, the bowl was filled with a satisfying volume of vinegared rice. In Nijo Market, there are many seafood bowl shops, so if you're not sure where to go, I recommend this place. The ingredients are large and the portion is generous, so it's very satisfying. The staff inside the shop are like friendly old ladies, easy to talk to, and have a strong sense of service, making it a comfortable place to be. It's a popular tourist spot, so the prices are on the higher side, especially for items like Otoro and Chutoro, so a little caution is needed.

I walked to the seafood-centered Nijo Market within walking distance from the hotel. It was a small market. The popular "Donburi Tea House" was already full, so I had to wait a bit before getting a seat. I ordered the "Chef's Special Donburi" for 2,980 yen. It didn't come with miso soup, so I ordered a scallop miso soup. The total came to 3,180 yen. The Chef's Special Donburi included thick rolled omelette (which was thin), tuna, seared salmon, squid, scallop, octopus, sweet shrimp (which I didn't notice), salmon roe, and sea urchin (which I think was there) according to the menu. The octopus was very tender and delicious. It was my first time trying raw squid. Overall, the toppings were thin and the rice was plentiful. Thank you for the meal.

In May 2022, I visited Sapporo and wanted to try sea urchin rice bowl and salmon roe rice bowl. So, I went to Nijo Market. Even though it was before 11 am, the market was quite lively with some food stalls having long lines. I chose a small shop in a narrow alley to experience a more authentic atmosphere. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I was seated. I ordered a draft beer and the Marusendon (assorted seafood rice bowl) for 4,980 yen. Checking the menu the shop posted on Tabelog last year on March 31st, the Marusendon was priced at 3,980 yen. It seems they have increased the price by about 1,000 yen, a significant 25% increase. Perhaps due to the impact of the pandemic. The draft beer was very delicious, a Sapporo beer. It tasted better than Kirin or Asahi draft beer. However, the rice bowl was disappointing. The sea urchin tasted strange, and I later found out from another customer that it was steamed sea urchin. Why wasn't I informed about this? The scallops were okay. The salmon roe was small and not very flavorful. The salmon was decent. The sweet shrimp was average. The tuna was also just okay. The crab rice bowl was not good. The meat was shredded and the flavor of the crab was lacking. The scallop miso soup was fine, but if I couldn't enjoy fresh sea urchin, I should have chosen a different shop. It's a shame that I came all the way to Sapporo and had this disappointing experience.

Today, I visited the Donburi Chaya Sapporo Nijyo Ichiba store located in Sapporo Nijyo Market. The menu had so many options that I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up ordering the Gyu-hi Donburi for 1880 yen. The bowl was filled with luxurious ingredients such as tuna, salmon, octopus, scallops, spot prawns, crab, ikura, and tamago. I enjoyed the abundance of seafood from Hokkaido right from the start. When in Hokkaido, you must try the seafood! I headed to Nijo Market, which is close to the hotel where I stayed. I used the Sapporo Waribiki discount, so I received a 2,000 yen Smile Coupon that I could use in Sapporo. I used the coupon at this restaurant, where I ordered the recommended Market Bowl for 1,980 yen (tax included) since they were out of sea urchin today. Thanks to the coupon, it was practically free (^^) The seafood bowl arrived in about 10 minutes after ordering. It was filled with grilled shrimp, sweet shrimp, scallops, salmon roe, tuna, yellowtail, salmon, octopus, squid, flounder, sea bream, squid eggs, and rolled omelette, all served in a regular-sized bowl with vinegared rice. I appreciated being able to use the coupon and enjoyed the satisfying seafood bowl. Thank you for the meal!
