Strolling along a street where there is a well-established ramen shop called Hachiya. It's been a while since I last visited. I've been to the standing soba shop at the entrance occasionally, but it's been quite a while since I walked around here. I knew about the seafood izakaya called SNS. They have an all-you-can-eat oyster deal, which I love. I was happy to visit this place as I had been wanting to try it. The menu has various options, with the top 3 being all-you-can-eat seafood grill in first place, oyster Jenga in second place (stack as many as you can in 20 seconds), and 1 pound steak in third place. In addition to these, there seem to be many other types of dishes available. The best part is the all-you-can-eat option. It always sounds good no matter how old you are. Oyster all-you-can-eat, seafood all-you-can-eat, and even crab. It must be so exciting for people coming from outside the area. Later, I realized that perhaps it might be better not to go for the all-you-can-eat option with just two middle-aged men haha. First to arrive were the raw oysters, which can also be eaten raw. I later tried them raw and they were really delicious. I guess I just love raw oysters the most. Next, scallops. These are also fresh, so maybe they can be eaten raw too. And then octopus. It's huge! What am I supposed to do with this? There's no way I can finish it all. I was served shishamo, clams, shrimp, and hokke. All of these were part of the all-you-can-eat deal. Oh no, I don't need all-you-can-eat haha. This is more than enough. The answer is, I just got a little extra scallops and oysters haha. I grilled the scallops and oysters. Be careful as the shells fly off when they're grilled. If they hit you, it can be quite hot and painful, so watch out. However, the process of grilling them is starting to feel troublesome for me as an older man. The scallops were delicious. I wish there was butter to go with them. Wait, was that silver container butter that I mistook for mayonnaise? The shrimp were also grilled perfectly. Once they turned red on the outside, they were ready to eat. Next, you have to peel the shrimp yourself. Delicious! But quite troublesome. I'm starting to find it bothersome to put in effort at izakayas. I need someone to peel and grill for me haha. I grilled the octopus. It turned out well. It was delicious but a bit tiring to chew. I cut it into small pieces but it was still too big. Octopus is best when thinly sliced due to its chewiness. I grilled hokke last. It was grilled nicely and tasted great with its fatty texture. However, one piece of hokke with a little sip of sake seems satisfying enough. The shishamo came wrapped in silver paper. It was delicious without any fishy taste. I also had enoki mushrooms and wasabi leaves. The all-you-can-eat system requires each person to order separate dishes worth over 1000 yen, so I started with enoki mushrooms and wasabi leaves. Delicious! There's quite a lot in there. If there was vinegared rice, I'd be completely satisfied. Butter corn. I've had this after a long time and it's still a hit. It's so tasty with butter, soy sauce, and corn all mixed together. Uni sushi. Uni on top of meat that's then seared with a burner. The meat was rare and the uni added a subtle flavor. It's a great combination. Grilled rice ball. This one is quite large. For women, eating this might make you quite full. It comes with a sweet soy sauce glaze and a sheet of nori on top. I'm used to grilled rice balls being served as is, but here, it comes with nori, which is nice. It's also sprinkled with sesame seeds. So, with that, I think I've had my fill of seafood all-you-can-eat. It was a great experience!
