I arrived at the restaurant at an awkward time before the movie, around 4 pm. Even though it was still before 4 pm, a group of young girls at a table in the back were having a great time. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter. It was past lunchtime, so the atmosphere was full of people enjoying drinks, but I couldn't drink since I had to drive and watch a movie later. I ordered my favorite Kimbap and water dumplings, a strange combination. At this time, even though I couldn't drink, they brought a mysterious bottle as a complimentary dish. It turned out to be kimchi-pickled soft-boiled egg, which was delicious. The freshly made warm Kimbap was amazing! The Kimchi on the side was also very tasty. The portion was generous for one person. I really wanted to drink beer now. Next, the water dumplings arrived. They stretched the dough after I ordered, so the freshly made dough was soft and juicy with plenty of ginger in the filling, very delicious. It was a shame I couldn't drink beer. I would love to come back next time to drink! The prices were reasonable, and it seemed to be a popular spot as young female customers kept coming in early.

I stopped by for a meal before the Susukino Festival. The entrance was a bit hard to find, but inside the building had a great atmosphere with a historical feel. The staff were all very friendly, making me want to come back again. I ordered Kimbap, Yangnyeom Chicken, Water Dumplings, and Spring Rolls. The Yangnyeom Chicken portion was quite large, so if you want to try a variety, it's best to order less. The Water Dumplings were delicious, chewy and tasty! The complimentary egg kimchi was also really good. The seating was semi-underground, and the restroom was a bit far on the 3rd floor. However, the restroom was very clean and well-maintained.

The other day, I tried to go to a few places on a weekday, but they were all full of inbound tourists. I walked a bit and decided to try my luck by asking at a restaurant, and luckily got a seat. The restaurant had both indoor and outdoor seating, and it might be nice to sit outside on a sunny day. They offer all-you-can-drink menu, and the prices are reasonable, so it's recommended if you plan to have more than three drinks. The food is Korean cuisine and not bad. I felt like trying it again next time.

I suddenly felt like eating gyoza, so I visited with a customer! There were many young women inside, so it might be tough for business entertainment! However, the gyoza was juicy and delicious. The all-you-can-drink menu was plentiful and reasonably priced, so we enjoyed ourselves.

On May 7, 2023, I went to a Korean-style izakaya in Tanukikoji 7-chome. Despite its Korean style, the name of the restaurant is Ethiopian, which is a mystery (laughs). This restaurant is part of the suEzou group, known for its various concept restaurants, so you can't go wrong with any of their establishments. When I had some free time and wanted to go out for drinks, my friend who loves Instagram-worthy places joined me. The restaurant had cute jugs and logos. The layout was trendy with neon lights, popular among young people. We sat at a table on the first floor this time. The gyoza, while not very Korean, was delicious with its chewy thick skin that traps the meat juices inside. Be careful as the juices can overflow when you bite into it (laughs). The logo on the plate was also cute. The appetizer was a flavored egg in a bottle, similar to kimchi seasoning, spicy and delicious. The egg yolk was runny, which I liked. The cheese dakgalbi was also tasty, with the cheese stretching and the meat being juicy. The beer jugs had the names of celebrities on them, which was funny. I wanted to take a picture with the food, so I waited to drink, but the foam disappeared. However, I used a trick to bring it back. My friend laughed and asked if there was such a method. Last time I came, I also had the chijimi, but every menu item goes well with alcohol and is delicious. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Tanuki-koji for dinner and was trying to decide what to eat when I happened to come across a restaurant with a sign that said "Ethiopia" but served Gyoza and Korean street food. I decided to go in and was seated at the counter. I ordered pan-fried, boiled, and steamed Gyoza to start, as well as Yamnyam Chicken and Kimbap. After a 10-minute wait, the food arrived. The Gyoza was delicious, both the pan-fried and boiled ones had the same tasty filling. The steamed Gyoza had a shrimp filling which was also very good. The Yamnyam Chicken and Kimbap were as expected. I also ordered a Lu Rou Fan, which was a Taiwanese dish, and it was also delicious. Overall, it was a restaurant filled with dishes from East Asia.

The portion size was huge! We ordered about 3 dishes and we were already quite full. Even just the appetizer and 2 dishes would have been enough. The taste was average, but I think the cost performance is good. Thank you for the meal!

I visited this restaurant for the third time and had Kimbap and Yangnyeom Chicken. In recent years, Sapporo has been experiencing a Korean boom, with a huge number of "fake" Korean restaurants popping up. However, this place stands out because they pay attention to the flavors and quality of their food. The Kimbap has a strong sesame oil flavor, rich taste, and plenty of meat and egg protein, making it a great option when you want a hearty meal. It pairs well with alcohol. The Yangnyeom Chicken has a moist sauce that isn't too spicy, making it enjoyable even for those who prefer sweeter flavors. Both dishes come in generous portions, so they are best shared with two or more people. The complimentary dish this time was kimchi-marinated boiled egg. On my first visit, I tried the dumplings, but after getting their Kimbap for takeout and loving it, I now only go for the Kimbap here! Both the Kimbap and Yangnyeom Chicken are available for takeout, so I highly recommend getting them to go if you have the chance to visit this restaurant.

The dumpling skin was thick and chewy, with a well-seasoned filling. The spring rolls also had a good amount of filling, but both dishes felt greasy. The pork bun was a bit too sweet for my liking, but that could be a personal preference. Unfortunately, the attitude of the staff preparing the food was poor, and everything felt greasy, including the table and condiments. The dishes were average overall, but I left feeling disappointed.

I've always been curious about this place as I pass by it often, but it's usually packed every time I try to go in. Finally, I managed to get a table this time! Despite the name being "Ethiopia," the menu mainly consists of dumplings and Korean dishes, which is quite interesting. The atmosphere is very unique, with a mysterious Asian vibe that feels like stepping back in time. We sat on the third floor, and the interior design was really special and cool. The neon sign for "dumplings" alone made it worth entering the restaurant. The appetizer, priced at 380 yen, was a jar of kimchi-flavored marinated egg, which surprised my companion. The third-floor seating was perfect for the ambiance. It's not a private room (just separated by cloth), so conversations can be overheard. The restroom is located on the third floor. It was a great experience that made us feel like we were traveling abroad. The grilled dumplings were 420 yen for 4 pieces, and you can order additional ones for 90 yen each, which is convenient for sharing. The dumplings were round and plump, with thick skin. Although there didn't seem to be garlic in them, they were delicious and juicy. The steamed dumplings were also 420 yen for 4 pieces, with the thickness of the skin varying between grilled and steamed dumplings. They use a blend of two types of wheat flour. Even without seasoning, the dumplings had a good flavor. The steamed dumplings were soft and had a strong ginger flavor. Since it was our second stop of the night, we only had drinks and dumplings. The wait for the food was quite long, probably due to a small number of kitchen staff, so be prepared to wait leisurely. It's not a place to go if you're in a hurry. This restaurant would be great for a girls' night out as a second stop. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

First visit to an Ethiopian restaurant in Hokkaido. The variety of dishes and the large number of seats make it possible to make a reservation on the same day, and all the dishes are delicious, so I recommend it. I went at 5 o'clock, but they said they were already out of xiao long bao, so I hope to be able to eat it when I go again.

I always noticed this shop on Tanuki Koji 7-chome being crowded whenever I passed by, so this time I decided to visit. Their specialty is handmade gyoza without chemical seasonings or garlic. I ordered the pan-fried gyoza and steamed shrimp gyoza. It took about 15 minutes from ordering to being served. While waiting, they served a tasty ajitama kimchi jar as a complimentary appetizer. It was delicious, but for 380 yen, I personally wouldn't pay for it. The gyoza comes without sauce, and you eat it with vinegar, soy sauce, chili oil, and pepper. The pan-fried gyoza had a chewy skin with a crispy bottom, and the filling was juicy and flavorful. The steamed shrimp gyoza also had a delicious chewy skin, and the quality of the gyoza was very high. If it weren't for the appetizer, I would definitely come back again because the gyoza was so delicious. Thank you for the meal!

This shop has an atmosphere that seems to draw you in every time you pass by. Unfortunately, the place I wanted to go to was closed until the 11th, so I decided to visit my second choice. In the summer, there were groups drinking outside the shop, which was a nice sight. Despite being located in East Africa, the interior of the shop had a Korean street food vibe. It was a three-story building with old wooden stairs, giving off a Spirited Away vibe. The menu had Korean dishes as well, and the handmade dumplings were recommended. I ordered the following items: Handmade Korean Namul (390 yen), Avocado Kimchi - surprisingly good, slightly sour, delicious; Bean Sprout Namul - strong raw taste, Carrot Namul - sweet, delicious; Spinach - refreshing with a hint of sesame oil, delicious. Each dish had a unique flavor and was delicious. I also ordered the pan-fried dumplings (420 yen) - chewy skin with juicy meat filling, delicious; Korean Spicy Ramen (580 yen) - recommended by a reviewer, addictive flavor, delicious. I also got a takeaway of pan-fried dumplings (420 yen), Yangnyeom Chicken (580 yen) - soy sauce-based, rich and flavorful. My favorite combination of dumplings and spicy ramen was the best. The complimentary dish was kimchi-pickled boiled eggs in a jar, which was unique and delicious. It was a fantastic summer night. Thank you for the meal!

I visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening because you can enjoy beer on the terrace on Tanuki Street. Yannyeom Chicken: 580 yen, it's a generous portion for the price. It comes with some lettuce. The sweet and spicy flavor goes well with beer. Korean five-ingredient spring rolls (2 pieces): 380 yen, also a generous portion. It's packed with ingredients, maybe even natto. Handmade Chijimi (pork and kimchi flavor): 580 yen, a thick Chijimi. It has a homemade feel to it. Overall, these three items filled me up. Unfortunately, the Uri Gyoza was sold out, but they were in the process of making more dumpling wrappers, so I couldn't try them. I'll definitely try the Gyoza next time. Thank you for the meal.

I found this restaurant when I went to an Italian restaurant in the same group the other day. I stopped by during my errands. This area is not crowded, and you can enjoy a peaceful meal with plenty of space. When I entered the restaurant, I was told that even one person could sit at a table, and I was guided to a semi-basement table. It's a luxurious way to dine alone, which is not something I usually do. I was interested in the pork belly chashu on the menu, but I really wanted to eat gyoza, so after some thought, I ordered kimchi fried rice. I also ordered jasmine tea as a drink. The jasmine tea was served promptly. The fragrant aroma is delightful. The staff even asked if the temperature was okay, showing good attention to detail. The kimchi fried rice was served in about 10 minutes. It came with namul, soup, and gyoza. I tried the namul first. It's simple, but it seems like a good dish to nibble on later. The main dish, fried rice, had a rich flavor. It probably goes well with alcohol, but since alcohol wasn't available, I paired it with jasmine tea. The aroma of jasmine tea and the fried rice complemented each other well. The kimchi on top was also delicious. I tried one with vinegar and pepper. The chewy skin and juicy filling were delicious, but I preferred the combination of vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil. The fried rice had a strong flavor, so the tea was refreshing. The soup was seaweed soup, gentle in flavor. The gyoza was so delicious that I felt like I could eat two more. I thought it would be delicious to eat them with a lemon sour in the evening. In these circumstances, it's quite difficult, but I'm happy that I could have lunch at a place that I can only visit at night. If the situation improves, I would like to visit this restaurant at night.

I went for lunch on Tuesday. This restaurant is located on the west side of Tanuki Koji with a noticeable curtain hanging outside. There are quite a few similar-looking restaurants nearby, so they might be related. I arrived at exactly 12 o'clock. The menu only had lunch options, with dishes from Chinese, Korean, and Ethiopian cuisine. I ordered the Samgyupsal-style soba rice set (800 yen), which comes with soba rice, namul, soup, and white kimchi, along with a drink. I chose jasmine tea. This is a new restaurant that opened in April. I had been wanting to try their dumplings but ended up going for lunch instead. The food took about 10 minutes to arrive. The soba rice was different from what I had imagined - it was simply soba noodles and rice served together. The Samgyupsal was miso-flavored, with sliced pork belly stir-fried in miso sauce and topped with crispy fried garlic. It was a bit too hard to chew. It tasted better when wrapped in lettuce. The dish also came with fried noodles and a sunny-side-up egg, giving it a Nasi Goreng vibe. The namul and kimchi were average, and the soup was Chinese-style. The portion was generous and left me feeling satisfied. Bon appétit!

It seems that they have started lunch service during the state of emergency. They offer four lunch sets: 1) Pork belly char siu rice set for 800 yen, 2) Lu Rou Fan rice set for 750 yen, 3) Kimchi fried rice set for 800 yen, and 4) Yukgaejang ramen set for 850 yen. Rice refills are free and come with a drink. I ordered the Yukgaejang ramen set with oolong tea. The oolong tea was served in a chilled glass right away. It took a bit of time, but everything except for the dumplings was served first. The set includes a small portion of rice, soup, 2 dumplings, namul, and a drink, making it a good deal. The Yukgaejang ramen had a boiled egg in it and plenty of coarsely ground meat. It wasn't too spicy and easy to eat. The medium-thick curly noodles were chewy. The dumplings had a thick skin and were crispy on the outside, with hot broth bursting out when you bite into them. They paired well with the freshly cooked firm rice. I finished by making my own rice bowl with the leftover rice, half-cooked egg, ground meat, and namul on top. The Chinese seaweed and green onion soup was also delicious. All of this for 850 yen is a great deal. (June 2021)

I visited "Suezou Japan" after a long time, but the name of the restaurant had changed and I couldn't tell what nationality it was. It's a restaurant that specializes in dumplings. Appetizer: something like pickled eggs in kimchi. It comes in a jar and is spicy. Pan-fried dumplings: 420 yen, the skin is chewy and sweet. Steamed shrimp dumplings: 520 yen, the shrimp is plump. Taiwanese minced pork and cheese spring rolls (2 pieces): 380 yen, rich flavor that makes you crave rice. Drooling pork chashu: 580 yen, the chashu is tender and the sauce is exquisite. Homemade chijimi (pork ball): 580 yen, plenty of vegetables. It's not crispy. It's sad that Suezou Japan is gone, but it feels like a promising new addition. Thank you for the meal.

Opened on April 1st, this shop is located in Tanukikoji 7-chome Arcade, offering handmade dumplings and Korean cuisine as its concept. The menu is so enticing that you'll definitely want to come back for more. Here are some of the items on the menu: - Fried Gyoza: 462 yen - Steamed Shrimp Gyoza: 528 yen - Changja and Mascarpone: 528 yen - Oyster and Garlic Chives: 715 yen - Oyster Kimchi: Complimentary - Otoshi (table charge): 380 yen This area is full of amazing restaurants, but being on the outskirts, it tends to be overlooked. Perfect for a deep night out, the "Izakaya suEzou JAPAN" has been renovated. While it's a bit sad to see the old shop go, the new concept of offering various international cuisines like Taiwanese, Chinese, Italian, and Korean is quite interesting. It's easy to hop between the restaurants clustered in the 7th block, including the popular Hyakufuku in Toyosui. The interior remains the same, but the decorations now have a Korean street food vibe, which adds to the charm. For drinks, they offer Chamisul, a Korean spirit, and they even provide free carbonation and ice, allowing you to customize your drink. The otoshi, a cute bottled kimchi egg, is absolutely delicious and a great conversation starter. The 1-item service card from previous visits can be used here too, which is very convenient. The Oyster Kimchi is a perfect accompaniment for drinks. The must-try item is definitely the Gyoza, made from scratch with a chewy texture and plenty of ginger. Each dumpling is hand-stretched, so it takes a bit of time, but the juicy filling is worth the wait. While waiting for the Gyoza, the Changja and Mascarpone make for a great appetizer, combining spiciness with the creaminess of cheese. The Chijimi is another recommended dish, with a slightly crispy texture and a spicy sauce that whets your appetite. There are so many other items on the menu that I want to try, especially the various dim sum options. I can't wait to visit again once things settle down with COVID-19. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I went on the opening day of 4/1! They seem to have a strong focus on dumplings... So, I decided to try the pan-fried dumplings. It takes a bit of time as they stretch the dough after you order. When the dumplings arrived, they looked thick and delicious. When I took a bite, the juicy meat burst out! It was surprising. You have to be careful. The chewy skin is exquisite and very tasty. It goes well with alcohol. Unfortunately, everything else besides the dumplings was just average... But I have high expectations for this place in the future. It's great to see more places where you can enjoy dumplings.
