あみちき
Opened on April 1st, this shop is located in Tanukikoji 7-chome Arcade, offering handmade dumplings and Korean cuisine as its concept. The menu is so enticing that you'll definitely want to come back for more. Here are some of the items on the menu:
- Fried Gyoza: 462 yen
- Steamed Shrimp Gyoza: 528 yen
- Changja and Mascarpone: 528 yen
- Oyster and Garlic Chives: 715 yen
- Oyster Kimchi: Complimentary
- Otoshi (table charge): 380 yen
This area is full of amazing restaurants, but being on the outskirts, it tends to be overlooked. Perfect for a deep night out, the "Izakaya suEzou JAPAN" has been renovated. While it's a bit sad to see the old shop go, the new concept of offering various international cuisines like Taiwanese, Chinese, Italian, and Korean is quite interesting. It's easy to hop between the restaurants clustered in the 7th block, including the popular Hyakufuku in Toyosui. The interior remains the same, but the decorations now have a Korean street food vibe, which adds to the charm.
For drinks, they offer Chamisul, a Korean spirit, and they even provide free carbonation and ice, allowing you to customize your drink. The otoshi, a cute bottled kimchi egg, is absolutely delicious and a great conversation starter. The 1-item service card from previous visits can be used here too, which is very convenient. The Oyster Kimchi is a perfect accompaniment for drinks.
The must-try item is definitely the Gyoza, made from scratch with a chewy texture and plenty of ginger. Each dumpling is hand-stretched, so it takes a bit of time, but the juicy filling is worth the wait. While waiting for the Gyoza, the Changja and Mascarpone make for a great appetizer, combining spiciness with the creaminess of cheese. The Chijimi is another recommended dish, with a slightly crispy texture and a spicy sauce that whets your appetite.
There are so many other items on the menu that I want to try, especially the various dim sum options. I can't wait to visit again once things settle down with COVID-19. Thank you for the delicious meal!
