I asked the manager of the restaurant across from Okaeri if there was a place where I could have a drink during the day, and they recommended this place. It seems like the original Okaeri restaurant. They also serve food at Okaeri, but it was closed that day due to personal reasons. Luckily, they had one spot available for me. I ordered a Hoppy set and decided to try the herring namero and white shrimp salted roe from the menu. The waitress brought over a blackboard with the menu written on it. The menu was extensive! The staff were all women, and most of the customers were also women. Interestingly, many of them were drinking sake. I wondered if women were stronger in Hokkaido, but I also ended up ordering sake for myself... Well, I have to take a night bus to Nemuro later, so it's probably a good thing I didn't drink too much. Thank you for the meal.

I went to a restaurant I wanted to visit. When I got there, I realized that I had passed by it many times without noticing it. It's a small place with two floors. I ordered Sapporo Classic beer for 650 yen, an assorted sashimi plate for 850 yen, homemade spicy potato salad with half-cooked egg for 650 yen, and Ni-seko for 450 yen. The soup served as an appetizer was gentle and comforting. I started with beer and sashimi. The assorted sashimi plate had mackerel, salmon, and squid, all sliced generously and satisfying. The potato salad was delicious, especially with the homemade spicy oil topping. It paired perfectly with the dry sake I chose, Ni-seko. It was so good that I didn't feel the need to stay longer. Thank you for the delicious meal! It was tasty!

A place where you can enjoy delicious sake with a variety of appetizers. I haven't been drinking much sake lately... I vaguely remember going there a while ago, so I'm sorry. I recall that the creatively prepared appetizers were interesting and delicious, making the sake go down smoothly. For those who enjoy Japanese sake and shochu, this place is a must-visit. I will make an effort to write a proper review next time I go, haha.

At night, I happened to see information about canelés on TV. There seems to be a small boom going on, and I wanted to try them at a shop. I went with my usual group of friends. Even though they are only open once a week, it was lucky that our schedules matched. I remember Beast Kitchen being delicious when I came once at night. This time, we went to Reyna Labo. I was aiming for the shortcake canelé. We got two plain ones to go. There were also people who came just for takeout. The shortcake canelé had a fantastic visual appeal. The strawberries were sweet and sour, and the whipped cream was not too sweet. The canelé had a crispy exterior and a chewy interior. The sweetness was just right and it was very delicious. It's smaller than a regular cake, but the satisfaction level is high! I definitely want to eat it again. Thank you for the meal!

On Wednesdays, they do not serve lunch and instead become a take-out sweet shop. At night, it transforms into a place where you can enjoy drinks. Sapporo Cannele is available for 250 yen each, made with ingredients from Hokkaido. All the shops are trying out various business methods and soon the vine prevention will be over.

This is my favorite restaurant. I thought I had reviewed it, but apparently I hadn't. The memory of that time is a bit vague, but as usual, I was having a daytime drink. Everything I eat here is delicious, so I just want to say "please bring me various dishes" when I go. I want to go regularly, but my friends who would go with me are all from out of town, so it's hard to coordinate haha. It's okay to go alone, but there are quite a few regulars, so it can be intimidating. Anyway, it's a place where you can be happy with the food. I will definitely go again. Thank you for the meal!

I went on a Tuesday night. The restaurants and bars around Susukino seemed to be getting more customers back, as I had to try two places before finding a spot. This place is located on the first floor of a building a little north of Tanukikoji Nishi 1. It was past 7:30 pm and there were three empty seats at the counter, so I was able to get in. I started with a Sapporo Classic draft beer (600 yen). Delicious! It's my usual routine to start with a beer. It seems like they recently renovated, as the seating capacity has decreased. The counter and table seats are arranged in a slightly irregular manner. From the grand menu and recommendations, I ordered the homemade pickled mackerel with ginger and shiso (650 yen), cod chili (600 yen), and Ezo deer hamburger (1,050 yen). I decided to try the game menu as well, as the place is also known for its wide selection of sake. The first to arrive was the appetizer soup (350 yen), which was full of ingredients. Then the pickled mackerel arrived. It was topped with ginger and large shiso leaves. When dipped in the sauce, the fat on the mackerel made it delicious. The texture was tender. I quickly switched to sake. Here, you can choose from 60cc for 350 yen, 120cc for 700 yen, and 180cc for 950 yen, with a free choice of brands based on availability. Since I didn't recognize any of the brands in the fridge, I asked the staff for a recommendation for a dry sake in 120cc. I received the Jozan from Fukui. It was indeed dry and quite tasty. Next, the cod chili arrived. It was a deep-fried cod with chili sauce. The cod was thick and voluminous. I then ordered the recommended sake. It was the Niseko from Hokkaido. It had a slightly unique taste, typical of Hokkaido. Lastly, the deer burger arrived. The meat was ground quite finely, and I couldn't really taste the game meat. A bit disappointing. I stopped here. Throughout, the regular customers next to me were talking about the renovation. I would like to come back and take my time. Thank you for the meal.

During the gap in the COVID-19 pandemic, when flights from Haneda to New Chitose were around 6,000 yen one way, I decided to make a last-minute trip for a night of sauna and drinks. I took a Saturday afternoon flight to Hokkaido. I used to come to Hokkaido for work every winter, but it had been about 4 years since my last visit. Before hitting the bars, I freshened up at a famous sauna in Sapporo, and then headed to Beast Kitchen near Tanuki Koji close to Nijo Market. I arrived early in the evening and managed to get a seat at the corner of the counter for one person. As more customers started coming in, they had to turn people away. Despite that, the drinks were exceptional, with a wide variety of choices including my favorite sake brands. The atmosphere was especially pleasant as most of the customers were women. Drinks: Sapporo Classic draft, Sapporo Lager bottle, Tokujo (Special Junmai 2018, 2020) Snacks: Assorted marinated fish, Tulip fried chicken

After the whiskey specialty bar, we went to this place that the foodie was interested in. Apparently, if you get there by 5 pm, you can do a tasting comparison of three types of rice sake available only on weekdays. The interior of the place is small. It's mostly filled with female customers, so I couldn't go in alone (*^^*) I wonder how those male bloggers manage to go in so often (゚∀゚;) You really have to be a fan of women to get in there, I think w. But I'm a tough guy, so I took a deep breath and went in w. While my companion enjoyed the rice sake, I had a highball (^^ゞ As for snacks, we had dried fish roe for 450 yen and eel and egg for 1,200 yen. I thought the eel and egg for 1,200 yen was a bit expensive (^^ゞ But as you can see from the pictures, it was worth it♪ Instead of wrapping the eel, they just put it on top of a rolled omelet (; ゚Д゚) With some rice and sweet sauce, you could make an eel bowl! I wanted rice, but guess what!!! I found a Thursday and Friday limited special, mixed spice curry for 900 yen, so I went for that w. This time, the mixed spice curry was chicken meatball and turnip dashi curry, and oyster and mushroom butter curry♪ I was surprised that oysters go well with curry w. It was delicious. Now, let's head to the third restaurant where our third companion is waiting (^-^)

Here is a review of Reina's canelé sales, which are held irregularly at this place! I visited because the timing seemed right! This time I couldn't buy the plain ones, so here is a review of the flavored ones, but to cut to the chase, both the cost performance and taste are highly recommended!!! All of them have flavors incorporated into the dough, and they are of a standard canelé size (slightly on the bigger side maybe). - Black Tea: The black tea flavor was quite strong! I prefer it to be strongly present, so I really like the canelés here! The taste of the liquor is also clearly felt, and the balance is good...! The crispy texture on the outside is thick, but the inside is filled with a jelly-like texture, creating a nice contrast between the outside and inside! (It's more jelly-like than chewy and firm, similar to French toast) When reheated, the black tea leaf flavor intensifies! - Matcha: The rough and crispy texture on the outside, with a moderate bitterness, makes matcha lovers very satisfied! Quite a bit of matcha is kneaded into the dough too! The liquor flavor comes through later, so it's well-balanced...! When reheated, the bitterness of the matcha increases! If you like bitter matcha, reheating is recommended! - Pumpkin: Among the three, this one was the softest. Is pumpkin naturally high in moisture content? The pumpkin paste on top is delicious, I want to spread it on bread and eat it! The inside dough didn't have much flavor. Just a hint of pumpkin maybe? When reheated, the crispy texture doesn't intensify, perhaps due to the high moisture content. It's a shame that the plain, pear, and red wine flavors were sold out. I'm sure the red wine one would have been delicious...! I need to check Instagram frequently and go back to this place...! The nearby udon and shime parfait shops had quite a long line of tourists, but personally, I think this shop is more recommended! (I didn't try the udon, so I can't really say anything about it though)

Beast Kitchen's charcoal-grilled chicken and summer vegetable spiced curry, and black sesame tantan keema curry combination curry for 1500 yen was so enjoyable! I love sitting at the counter in izakayas. The inside of the restaurant was so hot though.

Located on Tanukikoji 1-chome, this restaurant is situated along an L-shaped alley next to the Yamagoka family's house. I decided to visit after seeing a lunch sign outside. The interior was cozy, with only counter seats available, likely due to COVID-19 precautions. I ordered the "Reina's Daily Special Set (1,000 yen)", which included a main dish, mini chopped salad, rice, and soup. The main dish for the day was "Adult's Napolitan", which was probably spicier than usual. While the Napolitan was average in taste, the soup and salad were delicious. I would love to try a different daily special on another visit.

Sapporo Tanukikoji. Today's restaurant is Beast Kitchen. Located one street before Tanukikoji, in the alley between Yamaoka and Family Mart. Unexpectedly had an hour and a half to spare. Wondering what to do, they suggested a spot along the way to the next place, to avoid getting wet in the rain. They really know their way around here! I had heard of this place before, but I don't usually drink during the day, so I had never been here. It's a small place with 7 counter seats and 3 tables for 2 people. I thought it would be bigger. The wooden interior is bright and cozy. Visited around 3:30 pm with 2 customers already there and 2 more came in later. This place is known for its sake, but I opted for beer. The Classic beer for 600 yen was delicious. The appetizer was a vegetable soup. Perfect for the slightly chilly weather. Since I had more to eat later, I chose light dishes. Grilled broad beans with salted shrimp for 600 yen. I love broad beans, so I had to order this. They were sweet and delicious. Also ordered the Kinakari and Cheese Potato Salad for 550 yen. It's a must-have for me. The potato salad was seasoned to enhance the sweetness of the ingredients, with fluffy shaved cheese and black pepper as accents. The last dish was a comparison of raw and grilled shiitake mushrooms for 400 yen. I was surprised that the raw shiitake had no bitterness. It was a pleasant experience. The staff were all friendly and cheerful. I'll have to come back and take my time next time! Thank you for the meal.

*Non-fried curry bread (250 yen) I visited before the state of emergency was declared. In the refrigerator, you can drink any kind of sake for 350 yen for 60cc. I think there are quite good sake lined up, so it is recommended for sake lovers! This time, I took out a limited quantity curry bread, so I'm thinking of reviewing that (*'ω'*) I saw on SNS that it is currently limited to weekends and reservations until the day before. It is a small baked curry bread, so it feels very healthy. Inside the crispy airy bread dough, there was curry with an easy-to-eat spiciness. I wish there was a bit more curry. It left a neutral impression, but it's just right to finish with alcohol. There are no photos of alcohol or food, but they are all good. When things settle down with the coronavirus, I will visit for lunch again ♡

I had a bad day, so I felt like having a drink today, but I couldn't think of any open places at this time. Then I remembered a certain place that might work... Let's head there! I managed to find a seat at the counter. Time for a beer. I looked at the menu for one person and couldn't decide what to order. Today's appetizer was a Western-style octopus soup. The vegetables were cooked slowly and tasted deliciously warm. I thought I wouldn't be able to eat much, so I ordered a potato and onion sauce salad half portion. And maybe some vegetables too? I guessed right, the salad was a good choice for solo drinking. If only I could drink sake, it would open up more options. But I stuck with beer. Always beer. The appetizers went well with the beer. The place was bustling with what seemed to be regular customers, and personal names were flying around between customers and the staff. It felt a bit awkward for a solo diner... I quickly finished my appetizer, but the salad half portion was quite filling, so I ordered another beer. It felt like I rushed through it. If it's less crowded next time, I might try another place. That's the feeling I got.

Recently, a place called "Beast Kitchen" on Nakakoji Street, which has become a popular spot for daytime drinking, is gaining popularity. They are closed on Sundays, making it more convenient than "The Third Mockery Center" which is located nearby. The entrance door is left open, and there are outdoor terrace seats available. I visited on a Saturday afternoon and enjoyed a drink at "Tsuki to Taiyo Brewing", followed by "Shinkoju", and finally at "Beast Kitchen". There was one group of two customers already there, and another group of three customers arrived later. We sat at the counter and ordered two beers priced at 350 yen each. For food, we had the "Thick Ham Cutlet" priced at 350 yen, which was a unique stick-shaped cutlet, crispy and delicious. We also tried the "Small Eggplant Soaked in Dashi" priced at 450 yen, which had a great flavor of dashi and was perfect with sake or rice. The "Red Wiener" was like a nostalgic dish resembling ketchup-flavored spaghetti with sausage. Unfortunately, there is no photo of the "Fried Horse Mackerel" priced at 250 yen, but it was also delicious. When asked if we wanted soy sauce or sauce for the dish, we replied with "both", showing our drunken state. The portion size was small but perfect for drinking. We ordered another beer and the total bill came to around 3,700 yen. It's a great place for casual and affordable drinking, and I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I entered the restaurant around 20:00. I heard that the last order was at 20:45, so I hurried to place my order. The chicken dish with yuzu pepper flavor was a bit lacking in taste, but the texture of the cartilage was very good. The venison tataki was absolutely delicious, I couldn't stop eating it! The octopus Karaage had a well-seasoned taste and was very delicious, perfect for sharing with friends. They had a wide selection of Japanese sake, and there were even three groups of sake-loving ladies that day. The male staff members were friendly, making it a welcoming and cozy place. However, it was a bit cold inside.

This place is a paradise for sake lovers! The all-you-can-drink selection of local sakes is just too abundant and it's hilarious. The cute female staff said, "We drink everything except for the sake that arrived on the day," showing their high level of professionalism. Thanks to sharing drinks with my companions, we were able to taste 26 different kinds in just 2 hours. It's amazing. While sake stands out, the food is also delicious! Oh, this is really something.

I want to express my gratitude for having such a great restaurant in Sapporo. I went there for a daytime drinking session with my friends last time, and we all loved it. This time, we decided to go back for another round of daytime drinking. The quality of everything at this place is top-notch, and there are no disappointments. We arrived around 2 pm and luckily got a table. This time, we decided to take it easy on the alcohol and ordered some dishes. Unfortunately, they were self-regulating the sake, but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. The menu is a dream for any alcohol lover, with so many tempting options. We knew that whatever we ordered would be delicious. We started with chicken namero, grilled stingray fin, ankimo, and mushroom salad. We also had plum wine with soda, which was incredibly tasty. The soup that came as a starter was comforting and delicious. The chicken namero had a subtle yuzu flavor, and the stingray fin was perfect with sake. The ankimo with ponzu sauce was rich and elegant in taste. The mushroom dish was also a great complement to the vegetables. Before we knew it, the restaurant was packed again, just like last time. I definitely want to come back for lunch on a weekday or even for dinner. I must visit this place whenever I feel like drinking. It was delicious once again. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely be back soon.
