Next to the Yoichi Station, there is a 2nd floor restaurant with a roadside station vibe. The cousin bowl (1,480 yen) with less rice (-100 yen) had vibrant pink-orange, thick slices of salmon. What impressed me was how the salmon's fat disappeared quickly, leaving a refreshing aftertaste. In Tokyo, salmon sashimi is usually fatty and creamy, but this salmon in the bowl was fatty yet not overwhelming! Is this freshness or just firm texture? Yum. The salmon roe was bouncy and bursting with flavor. The rice was flavorful and delicious. The bowl had a good amount of toppings, so reducing the rice was a good choice. The restaurant had a cozy diner atmosphere, usually lively and relaxed. Pay at the entrance, then wait for a free table. The friendly lady will bring your meal to your table. Be prepared to wait in line, as popular items sell out quickly. I waited for about 10 groups at around 1 pm (there was already a line forming on the stairs to the 2nd floor). If you have a specific dish in mind, it's best to go early. Enjoyed a hearty Hokkaido bowl, it was delicious! If you're sightseeing, I recommend visiting the NIKKA whisky distillery within walking distance. Reservation may be required?

At 11 o'clock in Yoichi, before visiting the Nikka Factory, we stopped by this restaurant for a meal. The parking lot was full, but luckily we found a spot as one car was leaving. We headed to the second floor dining area and there was a line, but it moved quickly. I was debating between the seafood bowl and my favorite shellfish vinegar rice bowl, while my wife ordered a smaller size crab and salmon roe bowl with vinegar rice and her favorite Munehachi flounder. We received a number at the register and waited for our order to be brought to us. The shellfish bowl was packed with scallops, Hokkaido surf clams, and sea urchin, which made me very happy. My wife was satisfied with her bowl and especially loved the Munehachi flounder. There were many tourists as well as locals dining at the restaurant. The quality and value of this place seem to be appreciated by the locals too. We also checked out the first-floor retail area on our way out, and it was equally impressive. Having a restaurant like this nearby would be dangerous indeed.

"Osakana Tengoku" refers to this! Due to the Chinese boycott and the mass occurrence of snow crabs this summer, scallops and snow crabs are now very cheap! With plenty of shelled clams included, all for 390 yen... I can't resist buying it for shellfish lovers!!

I had visited a few times before, but this time I took two friends who were visiting Kamisaki Shoten for the first time! We went on a Sunday around 1 pm. Location and Crowds: You can technically get there by JR train, but the schedule is not very frequent, so it's better to go by car if possible. We visited after visiting Kamiiso Misaki, and it was extremely crowded. We couldn't park in the store's parking lot and had to park elsewhere. Despite the crowds, people don't stay for too long, so the turnover is relatively good. When we arrived at 1 pm, some items like seafood bowls were already sold out. If you're aiming for a seafood bowl, it's best to visit in the early morning hours. Food and Taste: I ordered the hokke set meal with less rice and scallop sashimi. The hokke set meal was huge and thick, perfectly grilled, juicy, and not dry. If you like light flavors, you may not even need soy sauce. For an additional 50 yen, I added grated daikon, which was a perfect palate cleanser for the fatty hokke. The scallop sashimi was thickly sliced vertically, giving it a chewy texture. Since it's served raw, there was no fishy or frozen taste. It's a taste that you can only enjoy near the production area, and I recommend trying it if you have the chance to eat raw scallops. It cost 580 yen, which is incredibly cheap considering the quality. Other Information: The first floor is mainly for selling goods. It's not the typical tourist spot with high prices; rather, it's a shop used by locals where you can buy local seafood at reasonable prices. They also have local sake, wine, snacks, light meals, and locally grown vegetables. It's a great place for food enthusiasts. My companions bought items and had them sent home by frozen delivery, which is cheaper than buying at a touristy market. They also offer shipping services. This area has whisky distilleries and roadside stations, making it a great place to stop by. For tourists driving from outside the area, the area is best visited from early summer to early autumn. If you have the chance, I highly recommend stopping by on a drive and trying their delicious seafood items!

It was really great. I went there on a weekday morning around 10 o'clock, so it wasn't too crowded and I was able to eat smoothly. The uni bowl was priced at market price, so I was a bit nervous, but it turned out to be 3200 yen. It was cheaper than I expected, and I even added 1400 yen for 100g of extra uni ♡ My husband ordered the seafood bowl to share, and surprisingly, it was only 1500 yen which was a great deal. They mentioned that the rice portion was generous, but it was just right for sharing with our kids. We decided to come back again next year.

I went to Shikotsu and stopped by KakiZaki Shoten on the way back. I had the Atka mackerel set meal, which was incredibly generous in portion size. The fish was big, and there was also a lot of rice. I somehow managed to finish it, but my stomach felt like it was going to burst. And all of this for under 1,000 yen, it's unbelievable. The seafood bowl sells out quickly, so I need to go back soon.

A popular seafood bowl restaurant right by JR Yoichi Station. By 12:30, there was already a line stretching down the stairs. You have to pay first before ordering, so you need to decide what to eat. They even ask if you want sushi rice or white rice. Gotta be prepared, haha. The food is cheap and delicious - no wonder there's a line. I was impressed by the beautiful wooden tables. There's also Nikka Whisky nearby, which is great. I finished my meal in no time. Thank you.

Scallop bowl for 1,480 yen. Mini salmon roe bowl at Sushi Zouhachi for 300 yen with vinegar rice. The salmon roe is fresh and plentiful on top of the scallops. It gets crowded for a reason - delicious and affordable. I like the vinegar rice, it has a nice tangy flavor. The scallops at Sushi Zouhachi are thick and fluffy, not overcooked at all. The first floor restaurant is also cheap!

The grilled squid for around 1300 yen was delicious. However, the crab bowl for around 2500 yen was made with frozen crab and tasted watery. I ended up leaving half of it. If you want to eat something really delicious, you should go to a decent restaurant in Sapporo. Here, most people, including families and tourists, prioritize the price. Although I thought everyone was here to eat sea urchin, most people were actually ordering hokke set meals.

Just near Oshiri Station in Yoichi, the restaurant above the fish market is now a dining spot. I visited Sapporo and Otaru for sightseeing, but a local friend recommended going to Yoichi for seafood instead of Otaru. While Otaru has many seafood restaurants crowded with tourists, Kakizaki Shoten in Yoichi had a local atmosphere and was spacious and relaxing. The sea urchin bowl was incredibly delicious, so sweet that hardly any soy sauce was needed! It used to be a dining spot where you could bring fish bought from the market downstairs to be cooked upstairs.

I was told by a colleague at work that this place is delicious, so I decided to give it a try. I had heard that it's better to go in the early hours, but I ended up arriving in the evening after a long journey from Hakodate to Yoichi. As expected, some menu items were already sold out. I ordered the scallop bowl for 1480 yen and my daughter had the salmon bowl for 1280 yen. The taste was amazing, just like the Hakodate morning market. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. The prices also seemed quite reasonable. I feel like I could come back again, maybe to Otaru (Yoichi), so I will definitely visit again. Next time, I will try the grilled Atka mackerel set meal.

Sea urchin is the best, red is like a buffoon, white is like murasaki, and folded like myouban. Today, the sea urchin is in a brine for freshness. It's incredibly delicious - the sea urchin is melting into the rice, making the rice like a drink. The salmon roe is also a star. It could even be a double star. I want to eat it anytime. Sea urchin and salmon roe.

I arrived around 11:45 am on a weekday before the August consecutive holidays and waited for about 45 minutes. The turnover was fast. When I left the restaurant around 1:30 pm, the line had decreased to about one-third, but it seemed like they were running out of dishes. There are two types of sea urchin bowls, white and red, but the white sea urchin is from Yoichi. There are saltwater sea urchin and folded sea urchin, and the folded sea urchin is said to be plumper, so I chose the folded sea urchin bowl without hesitation. It cost 4470 yen. A whole folded sea urchin was served on top, very luxurious! It was incredibly delicious, sweet, and melted in my mouth. It might be unnecessary to go all the way to Shakotan! The topping of salmon roe is 50g for 780 yen. The scallop sashimi is 620 yen. It was fresh and chewy! The tsubugai sashimi is 880 yen. It was also fresh and deliciously crunchy! The draft beer was 380 yen. It's hot, so why not have two glasses! In total, it cost 7510 yen. Considering the quality and quantity of the food, this lunch is actually very reasonable, isn't it? I definitely want to come back next year at this time!

On the third day of my Hokkaido trip, I visited Yoichi. Originally, I planned to have seafood bowl for breakfast at the Sankaku Market in Otaru, but I heard that the seafood bowl at Kakizaki Shoten in Yoichi is even more amazing, so I changed my plan. It took about 1 hour and 20 minutes from Sapporo to Yoichi on the Hakodate Main Line. When I got off at Yoichi Station and headed towards the Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery, I saw a striking orange building on the left side, which was Kakizaki Shoten. The first floor is a long-established fish market called "Kakizaki Shoten," which has been in business for about 70 years. They started a seafood workshop on the second floor with the aim of allowing customers to enjoy fresh and seasonal seafood that can only be found locally. It was the first Saturday of the summer vacation season, and there were already about 50 people lined up when the store opened at 10 a.m. I arrived at the store at 8:50 a.m. and secured a pole position. The operation was to order and pay at the entrance counter as soon as you enter the store, and then decide on your order while waiting for your seat. After careful consideration, my companion splurged on the "Akano Shiozu Don" (also known as Ezo Bafun Uni), while I chose the "Iso Don" packed with various shellfish. We also ordered beer, cold sake, medium fatty tuna sashimi, and grilled North Pacific giant scallop as side dishes. It was my first time eating such luxurious and delicious sea urchin, and the Iso Don, filled with North Pacific giant scallops, clams, and scallops, was truly a masterpiece that filled my mouth with the scent of the sea. It was definitely worth getting up early and coming from Sapporo. If I ever come back to Hokkaido, I will definitely visit again. In fact, I might even plan a Hokkaido trip starting from Kakizaki Shoten when sea urchin is in season, especially during the summer. Thank you for the amazing sea urchin bowl and Iso Don.

I changed the Medium Toro Donburi (2300 yen) to vinegar rice (+50 yen). It was very fatty and melted in my mouth, just as described. The slices were thick, providing a satisfying bite. The portion of rice was generous, leaving me full after finishing it. The ingredients seemed quite fresh without any hint of a fishy smell. This restaurant is famous among Sapporo locals, with many saying "When you think of Yoichi, this is the only place that comes to mind!" The set meals and seafood bowls have fixed prices, but the Uni Donburi is priced based on the market. On this day, the Uni Donburi was priced from 8000 yen. The popular seafood bowl tends to sell out around late morning to early afternoon. I visited around 4 PM, and they were already sold out of the seafood bowl. Yoichi has many sushi restaurants, but honestly, I don't find any of them particularly delicious. If you're craving sushi, I recommend going to Nemuro Hanamaru in Sapporo for better quality. In comparison, Kakizaki Shoten offers larger portions and good quality ingredients, making it a good value for money. They also serve delicious grilled fish dishes at a reasonable price, like a large Atka mackerel set meal for around 700 yen. Overall, I had a great meal!

I visited the restaurant around 2:30 pm on Saturday, skipping the lunch rush. Even then, there was a long line and I had to wait for 30 minutes. I paid first and found a seat inside. I ordered a salmon and ikura rice bowl. The salmon was so delicious, it melted in my mouth! Eating it with ikura was luxurious, but the salmon was so delicious that it moved me. I also got to taste the crab and ikura rice bowl, which was also delicious.

A seafood restaurant near Yoichi Station. Run by a long-established fishmonger, the shop showcases fresh fish on the first floor. On the second floor, you can enjoy seafood bowls, grilled fish, sashimi, and more. I ordered the seafood bowl for 1,580 yen! The fish slices were thick and fresh, providing a satisfying meal! The prices are reasonable and there are plenty of seats, making it easy to get in. It's easy to see why this place is popular.

It had been 4 years since my last visit. I arrived at 1 pm and there was already a long line. The location of the stairs had changed since my last visit, which was not surprising considering the long line. After waiting for about an hour and a half, my companion ordered a bowl of chirashi (they always order the same thing) and I ordered a bowl of white sea urchin with 50g of salmon roe on top, along with grilled hokke and grilled squid as additional toppings. My companion was worried if we could finish all the food, but we managed to eat everything without any problem. The price of the white sea urchin bowl was half of what it was last time, and after seeing the portion size, it made sense. If there were no additional toppings, it would have been quite plain. Overall, the food was delicious and we ate a lot. The seafood bowl was sold out, but at that price, I would like to try it next time. I will have to come early in the morning for my next visit!

White Urchin Bowl (Murasaki Uni) 4520 yen Surf clam sashimi 650 yen Flounder sashimi 500 yen When it comes to summer, it's all about sea urchin. And when it comes to sea urchin, it's about Shakotan, Rishiri, Rebun, and Miyako. This time, we visited Shakotan to eat sea urchin. This place offers high-quality sea urchin from Shakotan, including Yochi's, at a reasonable price. This was my third visit. We arrived late, so they were out of the red urchin bowl (uni soaked in saltwater), but we opted for the white urchin bowl (Murasaki Uni without saltwater soaking). There was a long line of 50 people on the first day of the three-day weekend. I was worried that with so many customers, the quality of the sea urchin might not be good, but the amazing thing about Kakizaki Shoten is that they served us large, thick, and firm female sea urchins from Yochi. The taste was outstanding, with no unpleasant odor, just a burst of deliciousness. With the increasing demand for Japanese sea urchin worldwide and rising prices, it is unbelievable that we could enjoy such high-quality sea urchin for only 4520 yen. I would definitely want to come here every day during the season.

On a regular lunchtime, I arrived around 10:30 and the restaurant was almost 90% full. It's truly a popular spot. There weren't many foreign customers, maybe because of the time? I ordered the seafood bowl (1,580 yen, additional 50 yen for vinegar rice) and today it had crab instead of shrimp, perhaps due to the rough weather recently. The uni bowl was also quite expensive at 8,320 yen. The seafood bowl had thick snow crab, flounder, salmon, yellowtail, red tuna and fatty tuna, surf clam, scallops, tamago, and ikura in the middle, a total of 10 varieties. The rice portion was generous, and I was extremely satisfied with the delicious and affordable meal that filled me up completely.

I arrived on a Tuesday morning around 10 o'clock, prepared to wait in line for a place where you can eat delicious food cheaper than in Otaru. When I got off the train, two-thirds of the people who got off were heading straight to the shop. The end of the line was around the stairs, and I waited for about 30 minutes to reach the register. After paying first and sitting down, I raised my hand when my number was called, and the staff brought the food to me. It was my first time, so I ordered a seafood bowl and a grilled fish. I wanted to try sea urchin too, but the sea urchin sashimi was 100 yen cheaper than the sea urchin bowl, so I ended up choosing the grilled fish, which cost a little over 3000 yen that day. After waiting for about 10-15 minutes at my seat, the seafood bowl arrived! Instead of shrimp, there was crab in it that day. There was a generous amount of salmon roe, scallops, salmon, egg, medium fatty tuna, and surf clam, more than I had expected, and the price for this amount was amazing. Especially the salmon was fatty and delicious, and the scallops were sweet and tasty! The grilled fish, priced at 490 yen, was surprisingly large. The flesh was soft and had a great texture. Delicious. This would probably cost around 1000 yen if you ate it in a city. The miso soup that came with the seafood bowl was also delicious. By the time I left, it was lunchtime, and the line had extended all the way down the stairs. I also took a look on the first floor, and I was surprised by how cheap it was. You can also have it delivered, but the shipping costs are high, so I decided not to. Next time, I want to try the sea urchin.
