"Ise Sushi Ekichu Store" is the second place for daytime drinking. After enjoying Otaru's specialty AKY and Chinese food, even though I was already full, I wanted to try some sushi since I was in Otaru (^ω^) I didn't want to sit down and eat leisurely, so I decided to stop by this place! Located in Ekichu, this shop offers standing sushi where you can enjoy the sushi from the famous "Ise Sushi" restaurant. I visited around 2:00 PM on a holiday... I waited for about 10 minutes. Since there weren't many customers lingering, I was able to get in without much wait (*´ω`) "◇◆ Chef's choice nigiri 10 pieces @ 2,750 yen ◆◇" The chef's choice for the day included tuna, cherry salmon, white fish, scallop, botan shrimp, firefly squid, snow crab, surf clam, salmon roe, and sea urchin for a total of 10 pieces. Each piece had just the right amount of wasabi smeared on it, making it easy to eat in one bite – which was great! The ingredients were fresh, and the rice was excellent as well!! Everything was delicious, so I couldn't resist ordering some additional fresh herring as well♪ As expected from a shop produced by the main Ise Sushi store, everything was delicious. Even though the prices are a bit high for standing sushi, I was satisfied with Otaru's sushi!! Truly impressive! The quality was top-notch, as expected from a shop produced by the main Ise Sushi store. There aren't many shops like this in Hokkaido, so this place might be highly valued. During the lunchtime on a public holiday, I waited in line for about 30 minutes with around 10 people. Surprisingly, I was seated at the counter of a small restaurant with only 6 seats quicker than expected. The chef was making sushi by himself behind the counter, while a female staff member was managing the restaurant. I ordered the chef's choice 10-piece nigiri and a glass of black label. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have the classic option. The sushi was served in the order it was made, 4 pieces, 4 pieces, and 2 pieces. They were all delicious! The preparation of the ingredients was very delicate, and each piece was seasoned perfectly, so I didn't even need soy sauce. It felt like each sushi had a specific seasoning that made it taste the best. Some people may have preferences, but I personally enjoyed all of them. I also tried some fresh sanma and murasaki uni, which weren't included in the chef's choice, but they were so tasty that I wanted more. I added a cold glass of sake. The price was a bit high for a standing sushi bar lunch, but I was satisfied because everything was delicious.

I wanted to eat sushi in Otaru! So, right after arriving at 11 o'clock from the airport, I visited this stylish standing sushi bar located directly connected to the station. The menu is on a tablet. They offer omakase sets, customizable sets, and individual orders. I chose the "omakase 6-piece" set. The lineup for the day included tuna, squid, salmon, sweet shrimp, shellfish, white fish, and more. The sushi rice had a subtle sweetness with a nice texture that I really liked. The toppings were well-balanced in temperature and flavor, creating a harmonious combination. The seasoning such as soy sauce and salt was already applied, allowing the flavors of the top-notch sushi to shine through in every bite. For example, the squid had a light sprinkling of spices instead of soy sauce. It was clear that the restaurant aimed for a unique and high-quality taste. The standout for me was the salmon, with its rich fatty flavor and sweetness that stood out. While the nearby Sankaku Market may offer a variety of options, I suggest starting your Otaru visit by stopping by here to enjoy the happiness and excitement of being in Otaru. It's a surefire way to begin your culinary adventure.

I had the "Omakase 8-piece" for 2,200 yen. The menu was on a tablet, making it easy for foreign travelers to order without stress. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. The sushi was delicious, though the cost performance may not be the best. I probably won't visit again, but it was an interesting experience for my first time at a standing sushi bar. Depending on timing, there may be a wait to get in. I had to wait for about 30 minutes due to bad timing.

I went to Otaru to see ukiyo-e prints. Before that, I decided to have a late lunch. I was thinking of having soba at Yabuhan, but I found an empty seat at Ise Sushi and went in. It was Thursday at 2 pm. There were 3 customers before me and 2 after me. I was able to enter while they were still cleaning up. It's been a while since I last visited. I was surprised to see that they had changed to a touch panel system. First, I ordered a small bottle of Asahi Super Dry for 605 yen. It was really small. It's nice when you just want to have a little drink. The cold glass and cold beer made a nice sound as I poured it myself. The beer was so cold that the foam filled up quickly. Next, I had the Cold Chawanmushi with Rock Seaweed and Jellyfish for 440 yen. It was a cold chawanmushi topped with rock seaweed and wasabi. A great dish to enjoy with alcohol. I also had the Chef's Selection of 6 pieces of sushi for 1650 yen. Each piece had its own unique flavor, so I just ate them as they were. The squid, shrimp, surf clam, tuna, yellowtail, and salmon were all delicious. I finished my meal in 20 minutes and paid a total of 2695 yen. After a quick meal, I headed to Otaru Art Village to see the exhibition "Forms of Love in Ukiyo-e Prints." Various works by ukiyo-e artists were on display, and I was particularly interested in the works of Kitagawa Utamaro. I always wonder how much ukiyo-e art Nitirisan actually owns!

Visited around 13:00 alone without a reservation. It was the last day of Golden Week, so I was able to enter without waiting in line. The standing sushi bar, Ise Sushi, does not allow smoking and has a counter that can accommodate up to 6 people. As expected of a famous restaurant, the sushi was delicious. The store was clean, and the service was good. The tablet ordering system was interesting given the limited space. I had the omakase set of 10 pieces, along with sushi like rock seaweed with jellyfish, pickled herring, and herring marinated in soy sauce, as well as about 4 other pieces. I also had about 3 glasses of sake. The pickled herring was the most delicious.

It is a tourist spot, so most likely people will come by train. If you decide to go here, it's best to head straight there after getting off the train. Food: 10 pieces of sushi (around 3300 yen?). Looking at a photo from a few months ago, it was around 2500 yen, so the price has increased significantly. From left to right: lean tuna, amberjack, salmon, marinated kelp, squid, snow crab, abalone, scallop, additional 2 pieces, flounder, raw herring, salmon roe, sea urchin. The sea urchin portion was a bit small, but the rest were satisfying in size. The flounder was delicious. If the only difference is the absence of sea urchin and salmon roe, a slightly cheaper option might have been just as good. It's a great place to quickly enjoy delicious sushi from Hokkaido. I would go back when in Otaru. Even at 3300 yen, it's quite reasonable, but in the 2000 yen range, the satisfaction level would be even higher.

While the Ise Sushi in town is expensive, this place is more affordable due to its standing style. It's a recommended place for enjoying sushi casually or for food hopping. Previously, there used to be more variety or it was a bit cheaper. Despite being a standing sushi bar, it is significantly cheaper and tastier compared to tourist-oriented shops.

I stopped by the Ise Sushi at the station that I was curious about during my shopping trip. I had the chef's choice of 6 pieces for 1,650 yen, and the fresh herring was 310 yen. The sushi was well-prepared and delicious. It had been a while since I had sushi that tasted so good. I quickly finished my meal and left satisfied.

It's time for a trip to Hokkaido on 12/4. We took the train and arrived at Otaru Station. Walking on the snow was so much fun. We returned to Otaru Station and found a standing sushi restaurant near the station with lockers inside. We waited in line for a while and when we were called, we sat down (even though it was standing sushi). We ordered a set of 10 pieces through the touch panel. The tuna melted in my mouth and was delicious. The sweet shrimp was also amazing. The sea urchin and salmon roe were handed to us directly, not on a battleship sushi as I had expected. It felt luxurious. The sushi was well-prepared and we only needed to add pickled ginger and change our tea. The two staff members worked well together. It was the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to. Thank you for the meal. m(*_ _)m

On the first day of a two-night, three-day trip to Hokkaido, we planned to have lunch at the Sankaku Market right next to the station. However, we arrived at Otaru Station just before 11 am. I remembered that there was a standing sushi shop of the restaurant "Ise Sushi" we were going to visit that night inside the station, so we decided to give it a try. When we approached the shop, it was 10 minutes before opening on a weekday, and there were a few people waiting, so we joined the line (it was the right decision as it got crowded by the time we left). We placed our order using the touch panel at the counter. Although we were tempted by the various affordable set menus, we decided to choose our favorite sushi toppings as we were also planning to visit the market. As we watched the toppings lined up in front of us at the counter, they all looked delicious and it was a tough decision, but we ended up ordering fresh herring, medium fatty tuna, scallop, and sea urchin. It was such a luxurious experience to enjoy sushi freshly made by a sushi chef right in front of us at the station for a reasonable price! Everything was delicious, but the fresh herring we tried for the first time was especially tasty. It's amazing to have a casual and high-quality sushi restaurant inside the station, truly Hokkaido, truly Otaru! I definitely want to visit again next time I'm in Otaru.

Ise Sushi Main Store has been awarded a Michelin star and is a standing sushi restaurant located in the middle of Otaru Station. I visited in the early afternoon and had to wait about 20 minutes before being able to enter. They seem to use the same ingredients as the main store, and the tuna was absolutely delicious. I entered with a baby stroller, and they allowed me to leave it outside, so I recommend it to those who want to eat delicious sushi in Otaru with children. The price was around ¥3000 per person since it's a standing restaurant. I would like to stop by again when I come to Otaru. Thank you for the meal.

This is a standing sushi restaurant inside Otaru Station. It was my first time eating sushi while standing. It's an interesting and very Japanese idea. They make the most of the compact space. I ordered the chef's choice of 10 pieces, and the sea urchin was the most delicious. Truly Otaru. It's a bit embarrassing to eat while being watched by the customers waiting behind you.笑

The main branch of Ise Sushi is a renowned restaurant featured in the Michelin Guide Hokkaido, but this Otaru Station branch offers incredibly reasonable prices. Although it is a standing bar, so you can't stay for long, you can enjoy the delicious sushi from this famous restaurant at a price similar to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. There may be a bit of a wait, but it's worth trying the taste of a famous restaurant while standing. Hello (^o^)/ I visited the charming city of Otaru, known for its glassware shops♪ This time, I decided to skip exploring new places and opted for this restaurant where you can enjoy tasty sushi affordably. I arrived more than 15 minutes before opening, but to my surprise, there was already a line. Unfortunately, I couldn't get in on the first try, but managed to be the second person in line for the second round. After waiting for about 30 minutes since opening, I finally got in. I ordered a small bottle of beer (605 yen) and the Chef's Choice 10-piece sushi set (2,750 yen) which included squid, rainbow trout, salmon, lean amberjack, scallop, surf clam, botan shrimp, snow crab, sea urchin, and salmon roe. I quickly made notes on my phone, took some photos, and started eating... it was quite a busy time (laughs). Dining alone allows you to fully appreciate the flavors. The sushi was simply delicious (*´艸) The sea urchin and salmon roe were served in hand-rolled sushi style by the chef, and I couldn't resist eating them before taking a photo (^_^;) I also added 2 pieces of flounder (407 yen) and 2 pieces of whelk (495 yen) before stopping myself from ordering more. I felt like I could keep eating forever Ψ( ̄∇ ̄)Ψ The whelk was incredibly delicious゚+.ヽ(≧▽≦)ノ.+゚ Although shrimp was on the menu, I felt it was still a bit too early for it, so I decided to pass this time. As we waited in line, more and more people started lining up. Before the store opened, there was a queue! This place has become very popular because you can eat authentic sushi at a reasonable price. This is a standing eating shop outside the station gate, open from 11:00 to 15:00. I arrived at 13:15 and got the front row seat. Luckily, it only took 5 minutes for a seat to open up. I ordered toro, scallop, shirako, eel x2, snow crab, abalone, purple sea urchin x2, red sea urchin, and two small bottles, totaling over 5,000 yen. It was a bit pricey but worth it for the quality in just 25 minutes.

There is a municipal parking lot right in front of the station (20 minutes free), which is convenient, so we use it every time. "Ise Sushi Ekichu-ten" is located inside Otaru Station. I would like to visit "Ise Sushi Honten" as well, but since the reservation time is undecided, I always use this place where I can casually drop by. I would like to visit the main store someday♪ We arrived a little after 1:00 pm and the counter was almost full with previous customers, but luckily someone was ready to pay, so we only had to wait for about 5 minutes before being seated. ● Chef's choice 6 pieces 1,650 yen per person The chef's choice menu offers 6, 8, and 10 piece sets, as well as a 3 piece set (with fixed toppings) and a customizable option, so you can freely choose according to your appetite. This time, I wanted something light, so I ordered the 6 piece set. If you have any ingredients you don't like, you can inform them when ordering and they will provide alternative toppings. The slightly small nigiri sushi was all made with fresh toppings and was delicious♪ One thing that caught my attention was the price. This was my third visit in 2 years, and... I was a bit concerned, so I checked the reviews from my previous visit.
