When you come to Hokkaido, you almost always end up on Tanuki Koji. The further you go in, the deeper it gets, which is also charming. This time, I started from the always busy Shitamachi Wolf during the Autumn Fest. I wasn't really hungry, so I mostly just drank, but the menu had a great sense of style and there were so many intriguing options.

Located in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. Moving on to the third place of the day, haha. There are days when you just can't drink enough, right? Found a random place on the way back and decided to check it out. Let's go inside. Ordered: - Steamed oysters from Akkeshi (¥319) - Assorted sashimi (¥1,599) Went all out on seafood and enjoyed every bite. The oysters were delicious, plump and flavorful, whether raw or steamed. The sashimi was extravagant and the seafood was so tasty, I was completely satisfied. Good food makes me eat a lot, haha. The place was lively and popular. I'd love to come back for more delicious seafood. Thank you for the meal!

If this restaurant were in my local area, I would definitely become a regular customer. The food is all delicious (I forgot to take photos...), the oysters are incredibly fresh and the best I've ever had! The recommended sake is also very tasty, the atmosphere of the restaurant is cute, and it's a must-visit place!

I ordered a sashimi assortment for two people for 3,160 yen and the Sakura Hime chicken Karaage for 800 yen. It's been a while since I last visited. It was my first time since the COVID-19 pandemic, and the liveliness of Tanukikoji Street seems to be gradually returning. I thought there were more young people, but it was probably just me getting older. Thank you for the meal.

Somewhere where customers feel a sense of value and end up ordering a lot happily, even if the bill is high, is the kind of place they want to come back to. On the other hand, if customers sense that the restaurant is trying to rip them off, they will be put off and want to spend as little money as possible before leaving. This restaurant and its affiliated establishments seem to have a similar approach to customer service, focusing on the restaurant's perspective. The restaurant with a large sign on the prominent corner of 8th block of Tanukikoji Street caught my attention, and I decided to visit for the first time. It's a counter-only restaurant, with only two customers seated in the back. Surprisingly, the waitress asked me to sit next to the two customers in the back, even though there were plenty of empty seats. Feeling uncomfortable, I sat down and ordered a non-alcoholic drink. However, they were out of clams for miso soup, so they substituted with clams. As an appetizer was brought to the table, I mentioned that I don't drink alcohol, which led to a confusing response from the waitress about a seating charge. The appetizer was taken away without further explanation. The food that followed looked delicious and tasted good, but the plates were sticky. In the middle of the meal, the rejected appetizer was brought back by another staff member, leading to a repeat of the explanation. Despite the initial communication, the first waitress did not respond or acknowledge the situation. I would like to express more thoughts, but I will stop here. In general, customers want to return to a restaurant with good food and a comfortable atmosphere. Dine-in and take-out experiences are qualitatively different, as dining in involves seeking a special experience along with the food. My thoughts on this particular experience will remain undisclosed.

I have passed by this restaurant hundreds of times, but I have never been inside before. There are many attractive shops within a 30m radius, so this time I decided to try this new place. The counter on the first floor is right in front of the hearth, which is a great spot. I ordered some sake, grilled fish, and chose tilefish. I also ordered some buttered potatoes. Tilefish is a fish I have never tried on the mainland, but it was easy to eat and had a strong flavor, so it was a good choice. The tilefish was quite expensive, maybe due to a poor catch that year. The buttered potatoes were delicious, no need for further explanation. Overall, I felt that the cost performance was not great, but this izakaya allows you to experience the flavors of Hokkaido.

As I was walking down Tanuki Koji Street, I noticed that many restaurants had set up tables and chairs in the arcade area due to the pandemic, allowing for good ventilation while dining. I decided to stop by one of them and was pleasantly surprised. We were served a large portion of boiled tsubu as a complimentary appetizer. I also ordered zangi and bagna cauda, which were delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive.

After visiting a beer garden, I was in the mood for more outdoor drinking, so I walked along Tanukikoji 7-chome looking for a place with a terrace. I stumbled upon a lively restaurant and was drawn in. I found an open seat and ordered some Tsubugai (whelk) as a complimentary dish. It was great. Since I was already full, I only ordered some salted cabbage, which was perfect for a quick drink before moving on to the next place.

At the outskirts of Tanukikoji, just before Tanukikoji Market, there has always been a wolf sign that caught my attention. The sixth stop after finishing the Sapporo Half Marathon was a big hit. It was late at night, so there were only a few customers, and the friendly staff helped us choose various dishes. The oyster, sea urchin, and salmon roe treasure trove disappeared down our throats in no time. I will definitely visit again when I come back to Sapporo!

All-you-can-drink is great with coupons! The tuna was prepared well with the fat removed, which builds trust in their cooking. The Toro Taku is a mix-it-yourself type (laughs). They have Ikagororui, but no raw squid? The live octopus dance... they don't do that! Only butter bounced off (laughs). The tempura of fresh squid is good. Fossil-like namako vinegar... huh! Definitely a returned item (laughs). Gout portion... oh, this looks good! It's expensive though (laughs). The thick-cut salmon has a high-quality appearance, but the taste is not like mirin-dried salmon. It's good for dropping by or adjusting the time.

Tanuki Koji 7-chome entrance. The sign is big and easy to spot. Seating is available on the first floor at the counter and on the slightly raised second floor. In the summer, you can also drink outside. Before I started using Tabelog, I used to frequent this place. Since I started writing reviews, it's my first time here. They offer all-you-can-drink options. You need to order at least one dish priced at 500 yen or more per person. It might be a bit strict for a second stop. The raised seating area was a bit cramped, so I decided to just have one drink and call it a night. Oh? I didn't take any photos, but I ordered stingray fin!! It's a girls' night out. In the end, this is what we always come back to (・∀・). In the past, I used to have a good time here with staff members I knew, but it seems like things have changed a bit, including the menu. Hmm. Nostalgic. Since there are many girls who write detailed reviews about this place, I'll leave it at that. Now, onto the third spot (・∀・).

I went to a second bar for a girls' night out in July 2019. It was located at the corner of Tanukikoji 8-chome, not far from the previous bar. They have been in business for quite a long time, right? I used to go there when I was younger. I thought they had all-you-can-drink, but there was a rule that each person had to order at least one food item worth more than 500 yen. And we had to sit on the floor, which was uncomfortable. Also, the cover charge was 550 yen, which seemed a bit high for just some daikon with meat miso. I ordered grilled stingray fin as a snack, but it took over 30 minutes to arrive. It seems like they are short-staffed. Anyway, thanks for the meal.

This is Susukino. It's a second party with hospitality-filled nurses! Not the real nurses, but fake ones. The members were very calming, so I ended up falling asleep feeling safe. I may have been a bit careless, but I remember everything! It's a bit crowded and hectic, so I'll go quickly. We had a lot of mayonnaise like slime with stingray fin, and it was delicious! It took a while for the dish to come out, but it was worth it. Despite some ups and downs, it's a popular restaurant. The stingray fin was delicious! Thank you for the meal!

Sunday is the day of gathering. I arrived about an hour early. Near Tanukikoji 7-chome. Ruku was the only one waiting as the place was full. There were empty seats at the counter when viewed from outside. The two young women who entered before me were clearly visitors. They got a table, but for a lonely old man like me, it was full with reservations. The crowd between the souvenir shop and the hotel ahead is amazing. Inbound tourists are bustling. Japanese people are lurking in the corners. Heading back towards 8-chome, I saw Wolf-san with no customers. It was about 40 minutes until opening, and it was cold, so I decided to go in. The waitress was cute and friendly. If a customer stopped in front of the store, they would immediately open the door and ask, "How about coming in?" Quite a sales technique (laughs). First, I ordered a beer. I couldn't figure out the price of the beer as I looked around, but the brother behind the counter handed it to me. The waitress brought a menu and recommended the raw salmon roe. I asked for the price, and it was 520 yen. Okay, I'll have that. The cold beer was delicious. For 580 yen, I feel like there could have been a bit more in the glass. The complimentary dish was snow crab. The thin parts of the legs were dry and empty, with no meat to eat. The base of the legs was firmly attached to the shell and couldn't be peeled off. I had to dig it out with my fingers. The effort did not match the taste. The raw salmon roe arrived. Huh? It looks like it's dried out and lost its moisture. Even when melted in the mouth, the salmon roe did not return to its raw state, leaving a sense of emptiness. The only saving grace was the waitress talking to me. Oh, it's time already. When I tried to pay, the waitress in charge went somewhere after putting on her jacket. The bill was 1,836 yen. For just one beer, a complimentary dish, and raw salmon roe... Calculating backwards, the complimentary dish was 600 yen. The only thing that felt like the old town was the appearance of the restaurant. I just can't accept it.

Meeting with company seniors after a long time. To enjoy casual conversation, we chose a down-to-earth and friendly izakaya. Walking west on Tanukikoji towards the big signboard of the restaurant, we arrived. The entrance of the restaurant looks small, but there is also a second floor, so it can accommodate quite a few people. However, the stairs are steep, and the interior is quite old. We had already ordered the 3,480 yen course, so the dishes started coming out as soon as we sat down. The appetizer was crab meat with miso paste and seaweed. Even though the crab was frozen, just the fact that it was crab made us happy. The assortment of seasonal Hokkaido fish was not very large but had a good balance of sweetness and umami. The ikura (salmon roe) and seafood salad had quite a generous portion, enough for three people to share. The Tokachi beef charcoal-grilled with wasabi was tender and juicy. They used carefully selected ingredients, and the addition of mountain wasabi was nice. This is what adults enjoy. We finished it in no time. The steamed oysters from Akkeshi were quite small, but you could eat two per person. Since they are in season, they will become sweeter and richer in flavor as we move towards spring. Instead of the assorted tempura of Hokkaido vegetables, they served white fish tempura. However, maybe because it had cooled down, the fish was mushy, which wasn't to my liking. I like the idea of eating it with salt though. The seafood chirashi sushi had almost the same ingredients as the seafood salad. Hmm, I wish they could have made it a bit more exciting. For dessert, we unexpectedly got dango (sweet rice dumplings). It's convenient that they don't need to be made and can be kept in stock.

Appetizer 510, Potato salad with butterbur 350, Deep-fried pollock roe 550, Crab miso salad 590, Two highballs 480 each. Total 3197. Counter seats. Once the grilled dishes were ordered, the smoke became intense and my eyes started to hurt.
