Italian Restaurant "Ristorante Rubero" in May 2023✨✨ Located just a step away from Meguro Street. A hidden restaurant renovated from a 65-year-old house. The owner is a sommelier and the chef changes frequently. The restaurant opened in December 2007. The restaurant is located in a back alley a 5-minute walk from JR Meguro Station. The interior has a calm atmosphere. How does the food taste (*´∇`)ノ ■Dinner ①Seasonal course 7,500 yen ②Chef's special course 9,000 yen ③Course Specialite 11,000 yen ■Chef's special 11,000 yen (tax included, 12% service charge, 600 yen cover charge extra) ⚫Chilled soup Carrot (Saiyo) Fennel Osaka fruit carrot, Saiyo. It's delicious, but... the cream overpowers it, and the flavor of the carrot is faint. ⚫Beltfish, loquat, bonito confit A cute appetizer with a nice presentation. The beltfish is seared but cold, lacking in umami. The bonito is also cold, but the combination with loquat is good. The appetizer has a good "presentation" but the finishing is too sweet. It's a shame they're not conscious of the temperature. ⚫Affettato Mist Italian ham could not be sourced, so domestic ham is used. The taste of the ham and prosciutto is decent. ⚫Premium mackerel breadcrumbs baked pistachio Beautifully baked mackerel. The crispy breadcrumbs are nice. But is it really premium? ⚫Tajima beef tripe green chili The Tajima beef tripe is rich and fatty, with a nice accent of green chili. ⚫Bottarga Aglio e Olio Limone Hmm, did they focus too much on Sicily? The pasta is a bit lacking in firmness, and the lemon's acidity is too strong, losing the unity of the pasta. ⚫Fregola lamb ragu mint Granular pasta with lamb ragu. It should be a classic dish, but... the lamb ragu has some sinew left, and it's a bit too salty. ⚫Tosa Akauushi charcoal-grilled aged balsamic dry-aged Tosa Akauushi. The taste is not bad, but it's too tough. If that's the case, it would have been better to go for a cheaper course with pork. ⚫Special tiramisu Noctilucent Tiramisu was well-made. ■Drinks ⚫Acqua Panna (750ml) 850 yen ⚫VARVARA BOLGHERI 2020 1,400 yen Italian red wine, made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The bottle is around 5,400 yen in the market. It has a deep flavor without any roughness. A nice choice. ■Service The service level seems high, but... ■Price One glass of wine, water, and chef's special for a total of 15,510 yen. 12% service charge, 600 yen cover charge extra. It's expensive. The chef's skills are still developing. The recipes are somewhat established, so there are no major flavor mishaps, but the finishing is too sweet (compared to top-tier restaurants). At this price range, the finishing is a bit concerning. It didn't suit my taste.
