I love tofu dishes, so my family and I went to Ume no Hana for the first time in a while on a weekday night. When we arrived, there was only one other group there. The rest of the tables were occupied by a few groups in private rooms. The other group at the table left soon after, so we had the spacious and nice atmosphere all to ourselves. It was very relaxing. On weekday nights, they offer a coupon for a drink and tofu shumai. We were told that any drink besides bottled ones was included, so we tried the frozen plum jelly and green plum cider, which were delicious. The green plums were very soft and tasty! The cider was amazing. We ordered a set meal that came with eel steamed in a bamboo basket, meat, and tofu dishes. Of course, the tofu dishes were delicious, and we also enjoyed two slices of tasty meat cooked on a hot stone. Finally, we had the eel steamed in a bamboo basket, which was very satisfying. It seems that tofu dishes are more popular among women, as there were hardly any people there on a weekday night. It was a relaxing and delicious experience, so I highly recommend it to others! The private rooms were also very nice and would be great for business meetings.

On my birthday, my wife took me out to lunch at the restaurant called "Ume no Hana Sapporo". It was a special outing for us and we decided to try something different for my birthday celebration. We enjoyed the "Ume Lunch" which included various dishes such as small appetizers, steamed egg custard, tofu salad, simmered dish, deep-fried tofu skin, fried gluten, rice dish, pickles, tofu soup, and dessert. It was a wonderful time with delicious tofu dishes, and it truly made for a lovely birthday lunch.

On a certain holiday in Hokkaido, as I walked around enjoying lunch, I found myself wandering the city with a gap in my stomach. I ended up at a Japanese restaurant located on the 4th floor of Sapporo Shante. The restaurant was spacious with many private rooms and large table seats separated by white acrylic panels. Despite arriving close to the last order time, they kindly accommodated me. The background music was the soothing sound of a koto. I decided to be brave and order the "Monthly Lunch Set (2600 yen)" which was a full course meal. The meal started with a tofu salad that had a unique twist with fried yellow strips, greens, carrots, beans, crushed nuts, and a sweet and sour dressing. The sashimi dish with rolled yuba was delicate and enjoyable with wasabi and soy sauce. The sesame tofu with walnut miso had a nice blend of flavors. The simmered udo flowers with eggplant and greens looked appetizing, and the white sesame tofu salad had a lovely smoky flavor of Iburi Gakko. The steamed egg custard with ginger and burdock was smooth and flavorful, with surprises like shiitake mushrooms and mochi inside. The mushroom ankake with thick fried tofu and ginkgo nuts was elegant and delicious. The main dish of steamed autumn salmon with vegetables was slightly delayed, but the oven-roasted version was still tasty with pumpkin slices, taro, carrots, burdock, and tender salmon. The matsutake mushroom rice had a fragrant aroma, and the pickled turnip was refreshing. The yuba clear soup with yuzu was a nice finish, followed by almond jelly for dessert. Overall, I felt that this restaurant is more suitable for special occasions or gatherings, and it seems to cater well to those who prefer not to eat meat. Thank you for the meal.

Well, we had a special birthday celebration and made a reservation. (Just to clarify, it's not my 60th birthday!) We were a group of 5 adults and 1 child, so we opted for a private room to accommodate the 2-year-old who can't sit still. The room had a traditional Japanese table setting, and it felt like we were at a hot spring inn with a closet included. This year, I drew a great fortune on my New Year's omikuji and my zodiac sign was ranked number 1 for January, so it felt like a good occasion to celebrate. The dishes were elegantly seasoned and meticulously prepared. Unfortunately, I didn't take photos of the crab shumai, chawanmushi, or the finishing dish of oyster rice. It felt like we were dining in Kyoto or Kanazawa. We left feeling satisfied and the only regret was not trying the sake. On our way out, there was someone holding onto a chair, face flushed, clearly struggling. Thank goodness we had a private room. By the way, the restroom was exceptionally clean and equipped with a diaper changing station.

The plum blossom-themed course meal was delicious! It included a variety of dishes such as small plates, steamed egg custard, sashimi, tofu dumplings, tofu salad, deep-fried wheat gluten, fried tofu skin, beef sukiyaki, tofu skin soup, oyster rice, pickles, and black sesame ice cream with syrup. The portion size was quite large, so I recommend going on an empty stomach!

I was able to enjoy the softness of yuba while feeling the beauty of Japanese aesthetics. The entire restaurant exuded the beauty of traditional Japan, and I thought it would be nice to bring my foreign friends here. The yuba had a rich soybean flavor, making me think, "With all this isoflavone, I can become more beautiful and feminine." The other side dishes and rice were also very delicious!

I went to eat tofu kaiseki cuisine with my sister-in-law to celebrate her husband's birthday. It was a menu that we wouldn't normally choose. The course menu and à la carte options were abundant. You might wonder what tofu kaiseki cuisine is, but it includes a variety of dishes. There were appetizers, gratin, shumai, and yudofu (soft and chewy) in miso sauce (which was delicious). We also had yudofu in hot spring water and tofu in soy sauce-based broth. The overall taste was gentle and sure to be popular among women.

I revisited Ume no Hana. The menu changes with the seasons, so it's always exciting to come back. You can leisurely enjoy delicately flavored dishes here ^^ Lately, I've been ordering individual dishes when I visit, but this time I tried the course menu. I had the Ume no Hana course with yudofu and yuba soy milk shabu-shabu course. I usually have richly flavored meals, so I come here to enjoy a soothing meal with gentle flavors ^^ Course menu includes: - Meio Tofu - Yuba simmered dish - Ohitashi - Chawanmushi - Sashimi - Specialty Tofu Dumplings - Oshinogi - Nabe dish: Yudofu and pork soy milk shabu-shabu - Namafu dengaku - Yuba tempura - Yuba gratin - Yuba clear soup - Seasonal rice dish - Pickles - Dessert Overall, the dishes have an elegant taste, and I leave satisfied. My recommendation is the Namafu dengaku! Thank you for the meal.

I visited the Plum Flower restaurant in Sapporo. It's a place I frequent often, but this was my first visit this year. Since they had their spring menu available, I tried a variety of dishes from it.
- Spring Tofu Salad
The grand menu tofu salad with sakura shrimp sprinkled in it had a great texture and aroma.
- Steamed Clams in Pot
The gentle broth really stimulates the appetite. And you get to enjoy some clams at the end.
- Hakata Jidori Chicken Karaage
The karaage was crispy and juicy.
- Fried Tofu and Chawanmushi
This is a must-order dish for me whenever I visit here. The gentle broth really seeps through.
- Tempura Shiba Ebi with Seasonal Rice
The tempura shiba ebi advertised at the entrance was crispy and fragrant, making you crave for rice immediately. I had it with the seasonal rice, which was bamboo shoot rice, and it was a delicious combination.
Whenever I want to experience that gentle broth flavor, I come here. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited Ume no Hana. It is located on the top floor of Sapporo Shante Building. When my body craves for a gentle dashi flavor, I come here. It's recommended to make a reservation in advance as sometimes you may not be able to get in without one. I particularly enjoy dishes like chawanmushi and agedashi tofu, where you can really taste the dashi. The course menu starts from around 4000 yen, but this time I ordered a la carte. I visited at the end of the year and enjoyed a leisurely meal. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The other day, I was taken to a tofu specialty store. It was luxurious. I think they were careful not to let me get fat before this week's event. Also, I had dental treatment recently, so I can't eat hard foods much... It was a meal full of overflowing love. With three people, a 720ml bottle of sake is empty in about 30 minutes, so it's gone quickly. What a dilemma. If it had been a 1.8L bottle, it might have lasted for about an hour. Thank you for the meal ♡

I have always wanted to visit this place. My daughter took me there after making a reservation the day before. Since the reservation was made the day before, we went for lunch at 2:00 pm, which was the last time slot. It was quiet with few people, and we were able to enjoy our meal slowly. I tried the limited-time frozen plum soda for 500 yen while waiting for the food to arrive. The plum jelly served as the ice and remained flavorful even after some time, which was really delicious. This time, I had the Colorful Lunch for 2,600 yen, which included various dishes like tofu and yuba chawanmushi, tofu salad, yuba tempura, and more. I also bought a souvenir for 830 yen. The yuba soup with seasonal rice and pickles was particularly tasty. There are other set menus available, and I would love to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The dashi broth has a gentle flavor. This time, I ordered a la carte instead of a course meal. I came here as autumn began. I enjoyed seasonal dishes such as wild boar meat and matsutake mushrooms. My favorite dish to always order here is the nama-fu dengaku.
