On the way back from Makomanai, it was a hot day perfect for shaved ice. I had seen a review by Mairevi about a shop I was looking forward to, and I realized it must be around here. Oh, here it is! I hurriedly stopped by. The entrance to the Sheep Hill Observatory is just around the curve, closer to the dome. You won't miss it with all the shaved ice flags lined up. It was a hot day, perfect for shaved ice, but I wasn't confident in finishing a large one, so I ordered the "Rainbow Shaved Ice" (300 yen) with condensed milk topping (+50 yen) from the cup shaved ice menu. The shaved ice I received in about 5 minutes was beautiful! It had vibrant colors of strawberry, blue Hawaii, melon, lemon, and orange. The syrups on shaved ice only differ in color and aroma, but they all taste the same, so even when mixed, it's delicious without any weird taste. It was beautiful, delicious, and I was completely satisfied! Next time, I'll try the large size ripe melon when I have someone with me! Thank you, "Amu Amu"!

After finishing lunch on a day off, I decided to try the shaved ice place recommended by Nocchimu. It was a hot day, so the shop was crowded. I ordered the shaved ice, of course. There were simple and slightly more expensive options, and this time I chose the premium ripe melon. I also decided to try the white dumplings with sweet red bean soup. The shaved ice had a homemade melon syrup made from ripe red-fleshed melons. The ice was not thinly shaved, but rather in small granules. The outer layer was slightly hard, and when I tried it, it had a light texture. However, it didn't taste very good, maybe because they used tap water for the ice. The syrup was not bad, but it was a shame that the ice wasn't very tasty. There was also whipped cream inside, but it became watery and lacked flavor. The white dumplings with sweet red bean soup had a chewy texture, with white dumplings topped with red bean paste, whipped cream, and soybean flour. There were other interesting syrups available, but the disappointing ice overshadowed them. Thank you for the meal.

Visited on July 31, 2022. The shop mainly operates on weekends and holidays only. Weekday operations are irregular, so it's best to check their Instagram for updates. I arrived on Sunday at 3 pm, but most of the items were already sold out, leaving only Mega Tomato for 700 yen. I ordered that and later found a cheaper shaved ice for 250 yen. They had flavors like Strawberry, Blue Hawaii, Melon, Lemon Orange, with an option to add plenty of condensed milk for an extra 50 yen, or get the Rainbow shaved ice for 300 yen. I thought the shaved ice might have been a better choice. Surprisingly, the Mega Tomato paired well with it. The shaved ice here doesn't melt easily, but I wish it was a bit sweeter. The portion was quite generous, probably around 500cc of liquid. I got a bit tired of it halfway through, but I managed to finish it. Still, I wish I had tried a different flavor.

On this day in Sapporo, the temperature is 33℃! I'm craving something cold. Maybe shaved ice would be perfect at a time like this? When I arrive, I see a kitchen car, shade tents, tables, and chairs. This used to be a place where they sold mountain vegetables. I park my car in the parking space and head to the kitchen car. There are 5 types of shaved ice on the menu board. I decide to order the tomato and ripe melon flavors, pay, and receive a redemption ticket. It seems like there are 5 staff members working here. I politely decline a drink, even though I really wanted a beer. I find a spot in the shade under the tent. The operation seems well-organized with the 5 staff members working efficiently, including the young ones. After a short wait, the shaved ice arrives. It is generously piled in a wide cup, topped with a lot of fresh tomato syrup. There are sweet, skinless cherry tomatoes on top. Hidden in the center of the ice is condensed milk. There is syrup at the bottom of the cup as well. The shaved ice is fluffy and not too cold, so it doesn't hurt my head or teeth. It's not overly sweet, which is nice. I can enjoy it until the last bite without getting tired of it. The ripe melon also has plenty of fruit flesh. It's also a high-quality dish. I would love to come back on another hot day to enjoy it again.

Shaved ice season is coming to an end, so I'm posting this review early! This year, I feel like I've been eating a lot of shaved ice ← I also saw this place on Instagram and was curious about it! - Ripe melon: Inside it, there's this squishy thing (!?) that's not cream or espuma, and I was wondering what it was as I was eating it (I couldn't taste the sweetness, so I thought it was soy milk cream). Turns out it was milk whip...! I couldn't taste the milk at all because my tongue was numb from the cold... so maybe adding condensed milk topping would be better. The melon was sweet and delicious! The ice was more like the crunchy kind you get at festivals. But it didn't give me brain freeze! - Staff meal: I thought the thing on top was soft serve, but it was milk whip (I associate white things with soft serve, so my brain went to soft serve). The sweet red bean paste was really tightly packed into a ball, so it felt like I was eating a ball of red bean paste. As a fan of chunky red bean paste, I was happy, but I wish I could have had it with mochi or whip cream. The mochi was quite soft and had a lot of moisture. I was curious about the pistachio and apple tea that I saw on Instagram, but when I got to the shop, they only had about three flavors... it seemed like they had just opened and were really busy, so I understand, but I would be happy if they could list the menu of the day. It was a day of hopping from one place to another with Sayuri-san, but I'm glad I got to try the shaved ice shop I was curious about! Thank you, Wu-ta-san!! (((orz
