I'm in Otaru on my way to work, wandering around Asari before heading towards the cherry blossom area. After climbing a steep hill and going down a bit, on the right side, there is "Kong Bakery" and a bakery attached to the "Sharing Wakou" vocational support B-type facility operated by the social welfare corporation Koushi Houonkai. The facility on the middle of the hill has a great location, facing towards Otaru Port with a beautiful view. There are about 7-8 parking spaces available. The entrance of the store has alcohol disinfection. The store opened in April 2020, so it's still relatively new and clean. The store has many windows, making it bright inside. There are bread displayed on the left side near the windows, a cash register counter on the right, and a kitchen behind the glass. The front area is a cafe space with counter seats overlooking Otaru Port, which is a fantastic location. I purchased a "Menchi Koppe" for 120 yen, which was a crispy menchi katsu sandwiched with shredded cabbage and a lightly flavored sauce. It was delicious and worth more than its price. I also bought a "Cream Pan" for 110 yen, which had a bit less cream and slightly dry dough. The prices are mostly in the 100 yen range, and they offer mainly deli and pastry bread. They don't have much in terms of hard bread. The couple who came after me seemed to be looking for everyday bread. They also offer cheap drinks like coffee for 110 yen and cafe au lait for 150 yen for takeout. In the upcoming season, how about taking a small break with coffee and bread while enjoying the view of Otaru during a walk or drive? Next time, I'll have coffee in the cafe space. Thank you for the meal.

I finally revisited the bakery after a long time because my days off didn't match their business days. I went a bit late, so some of the bread was sold out, including the coffee jelly bread I was looking for. I bought three items and had them for breakfast the next day. Warmed them up in the microwave. Curry bread (120 yen) - The curry inside was spicy and flavorful, a delicious curry! Croissant (70 yen) - It became moist after warming it up in the microwave, but it was sweet and tasty. Shrimp cutlet burger (170 yen) - The shrimp cutlet was juicy and the sauce added a nice flavor. I really like this one. I don't get to go often due to timing, but I love the bread here because it's delicious! Thank you for the meal!

A new bakery that provides employment support has opened in Sakuramachi this month. The name of the bakery was chosen with the desire to create a bakery with a strong and impactful presence like King Kong. It is located on a somewhat steep hill, but there is a fairly spacious parking lot on flat ground, so you can park with peace of mind. The interior of the store is quite spacious, with an eat-in area as well. I purchased the recommended items, a cream bun (110 yen) and an almond maple bun (100 yen). The service was friendly and energetic. I ate the buns at home instead of in the store. The cream bun had a light cream filling with a mild sweetness, and the bread part was not particularly distinctive. The almond maple bun had a crispy Danish pastry with a delicious almond cream filling. I personally preferred this one! I liked it so much that I will buy it again. This bakery has a good reputation among people I know. I hope they continue to do well. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal!
