I came to the Obihiro Museum of Art to see the "Shigeru Mizuki Exhibition" with my wife from GeGeGe. It's a day trip by JR train. After visiting the museum, we took a bus back to the station. Oh! The "GeGeGe Exhibition" was really good! For lunch... what should we eat? "When you think of Obihiro, it's Indian food, right?" That's right! So we went to "Curry Shop Indian Downtown Branch." It was crowded at lunchtime. Luckily, we were seated at a booth right away. I ordered Indian curry, spicy for me and regular for my wife. The price was 462 yen, which was nice. The curry arrived in just 3 minutes. Let's dig in! The curry was thick and rich as usual. I wish there was more sauce. Besides Fukujinzuke, there were green pickles and pickled ginger. It's unusual to have pickled ginger with curry, but it was surprisingly delicious! The spicy level for today was not too hot. Indian curry can vary in spiciness depending on the store or the cook. I poured some hot oil on the table to adjust the spiciness to my liking. It was perfect! GeGeGe seemed satisfied too. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal. We'll definitely come back again.

I tried the famous Indian curry at a restaurant in Obihiro. I was expecting the curry to be very thick and heavy, but it turned out to be surprisingly not so heavy. The spice flavor was strong and delicious. I ordered a regular portion, which was quite generous with rice. Drizzling hot oil over the curry added a spicy kick that intensified the heat.

Curry Series Hokkaido Edition: Indian Downtown Branch in Obihiro is a curry shop located near Obihiro Station, making it easy for tourists to visit. It is considered a soul food for the people of Obihiro. The shop opens at 11 o'clock, but it was already full when it opened, so we had to wait a bit. I ordered the Indian curry, which had a thick and delicious sauce. I chose the normal level of spiciness, but it would be okay to go a bit spicier. It was my first time seeing pickled ginger as a side dish at a curry shop, and surprisingly, it went well with the curry. Since the sauce changes depending on the type of curry, I would like to try other curries as well.

When you come to Obihiro, it's a must to try the Indian curry at Indean Curry. Just before the last order, I ran into an acquaintance! It seems like we all have the same idea! I had the Indean curry with shrimp and cutlet on top. It's consistently delicious! The ginger goes well with the curry! #HokkaidoGourmet #Tokachi #Obihiro #Curry #IndeanCurry

I have been to Indian Curry in Yodoyabashi and Marunouchi, but I heard that this place is different, so I went to Obihiro Machinaka. As expected, it was a popular restaurant with a line, but I was able to get in relatively easily. I was advised to try Indian curry with all the toppings instead of the usual katsu curry. I was indecisive, so I ordered Indian curry with all the toppings. The toppings included katsu, hamburger, eggplant, chicken, shrimp, and cheese, especially the shrimp was piled high, so I highly recommend it! The curry was mild, so if you like spicy, I recommend getting the spicy version. The prices are very reasonable, so I recommend getting all the toppings!

I visited around 18:30 on a weekday evening. There were empty seats in the restaurant, so I was able to sit down and order smoothly. When I sat down, the staff brought water and asked for our order, which may make some people feel a bit pressured if it's their first time there and they want to look at the menu carefully. However, if you let them know that you'll order later, it's okay. This time, I ordered the seafood curry with cheese topping. I know it's a bit too much, but I actually got the large size. The curry was served in about 5 minutes. It had a rich sauce with plenty of seafood, so it was very satisfying (even though it was the large size... haha). It was delicious, especially when I added lots of fukujinzuke. I finished the large curry completely. It was really delicious. I will definitely visit again when I come to Obihiro. Thank you for the meal.

It was the day of the Kachimai Fireworks, so I visited five different shops, but they all had long lines. Finally got in around 8:30 PM (during the peak of the fireworks). On that day, they only served Indian curry or shrimp curry. No toppings allowed. The photo is of the spicy shrimp curry. It was so spicy, but it had a rich and flavorful taste, so I couldn't stop eating it and finished it without needing water. It's so delicious that it's crowded regardless of the fireworks. What I really wanted to eat was the spicy seafood curry with tonkatsu on top. There are too many delicious restaurants in Obihiro, my stomach can't handle it all.

I went around 6:30 on a weekday, and there were mainly solo customers with a short wait. However, the turnover was fast, so I was seated quickly. The restaurant has a large counter seating area and has a welcoming atmosphere for solo diners, similar to a beef bowl restaurant. I ordered the basic "Indean" curry with medium spiciness. It was a simple Japanese curry with chunks of beef, and I finished it in no time. Takeout is also available, and they welcome customers who bring their own pots or containers. I thought that these affordable restaurants that attract young people can help revitalize the local area.

I heard about the local favorite soul food in Obihiro city and decided to visit. I arrived 10 minutes before opening and there was already a line forming. It seemed like most people were getting their orders to go. As for the curry, well... The curry had a very thick consistency with no visible ingredients, so I added some pork cutlet. Honestly, it was the least delicious curry I've ever had. Maybe it's just a difference in food culture.

Yone-chan, a Harley rider from Kansai, wanted to eat Indian curry, a soul food of Obihiro, so we stopped by on our way to Nakashibetsu. Indian curry is actually said to have originated in Osaka! It seems that many locals in Hokkaido are not aware of this fact. The owner of Fujimori Shokudo, who used to run Indian in Obihiro, was impressed by the Indian curry he had in Osaka and decided to create his own version of it at this restaurant. Whether it was a generous understanding or a close relationship between the two, it remains unknown. We ordered the Indian curry with cutlet, as usual. The universally delicious spicy curry of Indian never fails to satisfy. The cutlet is cut into small pieces, making it easy to eat. Indian is still the best! According to Yone-chan, it doesn't even come close to the Indian curry in Osaka. Well, as long as it was inspired by it, it's all good. It was enjoyable to have spicy curry after a long time.

We visited the Indian Curry Shop for lunch after exploring Tokachi Garden Hills on the final day of our 2-night, 3-day trip to Tokachi Obihiro. This popular curry restaurant offers three types of curry roux and allows you to customize your toppings and spiciness. I ordered the Pork Cutlet Curry with the basic roux, while my wife had the Indian Curry with the Indian roux, both with extra spiciness. The curry was simple yet flavorful, and the crispy pork cutlet was delicious. The Indian Curry was made with plenty of beef and a variety of spices, with a mild heat that was enjoyable for everyone. The prices were reasonable, and we were pleasantly surprised by how delicious the curry was. It truly lived up to its reputation as a soul food of Tokachi Obihiro. Highly recommended!

I went to the "Indian" downtown store in Obihiro City, Hokkaido. Although I have been to other Indian stores before, this was my first time at the downtown store. I went around 6 pm on a holiday, but they had run out of seafood and shrimp toppings, so I ordered the chicken cutlet instead. The chicken cutlet was cut into bite-sized pieces, making it easy for women to eat! When it comes to eating curry in Obihiro, Indian is the place to go, haha.

I went on a business trip to the eastern part of Hokkaido from July 11th to July 12th. The last stop was Obihiro, so we decided to go to the popular Indian curry restaurant. One of the employees from the company I was with had never been there before, so we decided to go. In the past, when staying in Obihiro, having pork bowl for lunch was the norm. However, lately, many hotels offer pork bowl as part of their breakfast buffet, so now it's become a tradition for me to visit this Indian restaurant. We went around 2 pm, so it wasn't crowded. However, during lunchtime, all the restaurants are usually packed, and many people also order takeout. The food was consistently delicious. If I ever live in this area, I feel like I would end up going there at least three times a week.

Order, Indian curry with medium spiciness and pork cutlet topping is surprisingly cheap and delicious! The Indian roux is the best! It's not too spicy but has a rich flavor with a hint of sweetness. The consistency is thick and creamy. It was poured over the rice in waves and I was completely satisfied. The pork cutlet is cut into easy-to-eat pieces, crispy and delicious. Thank you for the meal - goodbye!

I had heard about Indian curry being the soul food of Obihiro citizens and I had always wanted to try it. After finishing my errands, I wanted to grab an early dinner quickly while waiting for the airport shuttle bus, so I headed straight there. It was a Sunday evening, and the restaurant was about 60-70% full, with customers coming in continuously even after I arrived. There were also many travelers like me, pulling suitcases. I ordered the shrimp curry (I forgot to check the receipt, but it was in the 600 yen range). You could choose the rice portion and spiciness level, and also customize the toppings to your liking. Since it was my first time, I went with the standard option. In less than 5 minutes, the piping hot curry arrived. The shrimp were the typical frozen kind, but there were plenty of them and they were cooked just right, retaining a nice firmness. I had imagined the shrimp would be tough, but I was impressed by the texture, just lightly cooked. The curry sauce wasn't spicy, but it wasn't completely homely either, it had a deliciousness that made sense when people say it's addictive. The spiciness was just enough to give a little kick afterwards, perfect for someone like me who isn't a fan of very spicy curries. I already want to eat it again, thinking about the taste. Next time, I want to try the pork cutlet curry. Thank you for the meal! ✨

This was the best curry I have ever had. I ordered the katsu curry this time! The katsu was crispy and tender enough to chew easily, and it was covered in a rich curry sauce that had a deep flavor. It was really delicious. I will definitely go back when I visit Obihiro again.

I stopped by for a late lunch during my business trip to Obihiro again. There were three types of curry roux available - Indian, basic, and vegetable, but I chose the Indian spicy one. It was delicious! The rich flavor is somewhat addictive. Once again, I resisted the temptation to add cutlets or hamburgers as toppings. Simple is best. The price is also very reasonable at 528 yen including tax. The amount of roux is just right when considering the ratio with the rice, so there is no need to worry about running out. They probably always ask if you want a large serving, so the regular serving amount is quite generous. The spiciness, even though I chose spicy, is not that strong, so I would say it's somewhere between medium and spicy. It has become a taste loved by the people of Obihiro, and there are customers who come to buy it with their own pots. I wish they would open a branch in Sapporo.

I wanted to eat curry while on a business trip in Obihiro, and I happened to think of Curry Shop Indian in the downtown area. I had to wait a bit during lunchtime, but it was within an acceptable range. A friend had mentioned Indian when talking about Obihiro, so my expectations were high. I had the Indian Curry Plain, and it was delicious - the taste is addictive. They also had garlic and hot oil on the table, which is a style not commonly seen in Tokyo, so it was refreshing. The cost performance was outstanding, and I was glad I listened to my friend's advice. It was a great day overall.

The curry at Indian in Obihiro is a bit different from regular curry. I ordered the Indian curry with extremely spicy chicken topping. The food was served quickly and the spiciness was just right. The pickles on the table were also plentiful and delicious to eat.

There are famous Indian curry restaurants in Kansai and Hokuriku, but here in Obihiro, there are about 7 branches. They offer three types of curry roux - Indian roux, basic roux, and vegetable roux, with the option to customize the level of spiciness from 5 levels. I added shrimp to my Indian curry this time, and it was rich and slightly sweet with a mild spiciness. Without further research, it's unclear if you can eat the basic roux plain. I'll have to visit at least 5 more times to unravel the mystery. It's quite far though, Obihiro.
