Located in Shinjuku, this place has a good reputation. I made a reservation and went there. It's in the drinking area of 3-chome. On the 4th floor, the interior is slightly dim with an open kitchen. I was seated at the counter. I left the drink selection to the sommelier for pairing. First up was the sparkling wine. Excellent. The first dish was bluefin tuna carpaccio. The size and texture were great, and it paired perfectly with the salsa-like sauce on top. The minestrone had a strong cheese aroma, but it tasted light and delicious. The red snapper and alfonsino were both excellent. Happiness. And on this day, the main course was Tajima beef lamp. They really know what they're doing. The cooking was perfect, of course. It's amazing that they can deliver this level of quality not only with fish but also with meat at this price point. Great value. The conversation with the chef was enjoyable, and the sommelier was wonderful, bringing out wines one after another, making it so fun that the memories became hazy towards the end. I had a fantastic and enjoyable time. I will definitely go back. Items tried: Bluefin tuna carpaccio, white asparagus, soup, panna cotta, bread, mountain yam confit, snow crab sauce, minestrone, steamed red snapper, Katsuura alfonsino, homemade egg white pasta with sardines and celery, deer meat and tomato with homemade egg yolk pasta, Tajima beef lamp, white chocolate, pistachio, ginger gelato, choux cream, and pudding.

We visited as a family to celebrate my wife's birthday. We ordered the B course for 4 people at 16,500 yen and the initial beer & wine pairing for 3 people (1 person was underage, so had oolong tea), which came to 98,000 yen. The dishes, blending plenty of Japanese elements with Italian essence, were very fresh and provided some eye-opening experiences. Some plates could have been a bit more refined, but with 11 dishes and plenty of wine, I think the cost performance is good. Thank you for the meal.

I went to an Italian restaurant in Shinjuku with a reservation made by an acquaintance. I was a substitute because the person they wanted to invite couldn't make it. The restaurant is on the 4th floor of a building with a sushi restaurant on the 1st floor, and it's very convenient to access from Shinjuku Sanchome Station. The playful octopus bread served as a greeting (although they do greet you) was nice. It's more like a side dish, focaccia, but it tastes delicious with the olive oil soaked in well. It's inevitable that the wine goes well, so I continued with wine recommended by my acquaintance. The modern Italian cuisine also has a touch of Japanese taste. The sauces are delicious, but the way they cook the fish is exquisite, especially the golden eye snapper's skin and flesh in between are heavenly. The transition from two types of pasta to dessert was smooth, and I enjoyed it with wine until the end. I see, my acquaintance probably wanted to come with a woman instead of me. Thank you.

This restaurant is famous for its octopus bread. The appetizers and fish dishes were very delicious. Although there is no drink menu, they offered a variety of suggestions from alcoholic to non-alcoholic options. The dessert pastries were not too sweet and very tasty.

On this day, we landed at Haneda airport just before 5:00 PM. By the time we reached the city, it was probably around 6:00 PM. I wanted to dine at a restaurant with reservations available after 7:00 PM and enjoy delicious seafood, so I made a reservation at "Il Lato." Located on the 4th floor of a mixed-use building in Shinjuku Sanchome, it's a great location. The restaurant opened in February 2021 and has already won a Michelin Plate in 2022. They offer a seasonal omakase course for ¥16,500 (tax included). The first dish was a tartare of bonito from Kesennuma, which was a great start. The drink pairing was done by a female sommelier with excellent presentation, making the Italian wines very enjoyable. The chef, Shigeki Furui, greeted us with octopus bread. The next dish was grilled gnocchi with snow crab and lily root sauce, which had a fantastic texture and flavor. The menu also included dishes like minestrone, simmered greenling fish in broth, grilled bonito with red wine sauce, black abalone risotto, and more. The meal ended with desserts like mascarpone gelato with Yamanashi peaches and a playful plate of pudding and custard pie. The total bill came to ¥70,400 before tax, with an additional ¥7,040 for tax and service charges. The electronic receipt was clear and easy to understand. Despite indulging in the wine pairing, which was a bit pricey at ¥18,000, the overall cost-effectiveness of the dining experience was excellent. The seafood dishes were particularly impressive, and even though I wasn't feeling well initially, the food went down smoothly and improved my condition. I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied and would love to return to Tokyo just to dine here again. It was truly a wonderful dining experience at Il Lato. Bravissimo!

After seeing a lot of seafood dishes on Tabelog, my health-conscious antenna went up. Since they also offer lunch on weekends, I made a last-minute reservation to go there for a lighter meal in the evening. Despite my health-conscious intentions (haha), the food was so delicious that I ended up drinking more than usual. The sommelier's expertise was noteworthy, and I found myself really enjoying it, with a big smile on my face. The use of beans, vegetables, fish, and hot dishes reminded me of the Slow Food movement that originated in Italy. The high-grade fish Kin-ki from Shari-cho, Hokkaido (not golden eye snapper) might be a symbol of that. I couldn't help but think of the hardworking fishermen in the Okhotsk Sea. A specialty dish involved simmering bones for two to three hours to extract the broth, resulting in a rich and smooth flavor. Amazing. When I asked which wine would go well with the meal, the sommelier's recommendation was quite intriguing. If you ever have the chance, definitely try the course that includes Kin-ki! I want to avoid the misconception that it's just a series of seafood dishes. After Kin-ki, we were treated to the ultra-premium fish Nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), allowing us to indulge in luxury. The flavors of the two fish were completely different and refreshing. The handmade pasta called Tayarin was served with a generous amount of black truffle on top of two small portions. I was so surprised because even at home, we don't sprinkle this much seaweed on our soba noodles. I was embarrassed and had to ask, "What is this?" One dish used lamb instead of seafood, and it had a surprisingly milky taste. What's this?! Then came the luxurious Tajima beef, which was incredibly delicious. It turns out that the most expensive course is actually the best deal, just as the sommelier suggested. The overall experience of surprise, deliciousness, and enjoyment exceeded my expectations. And all of this for just a little over 20,000 yen, ignoring profit margins! I'm truly sorry. If you're looking for a stylish Italian meal, look elsewhere. I felt that the genuine conscience of this place is at a level that's hard to come by even in Italy.

I've been curious about this restaurant that can only be reserved by phone for a long time! The Italian dishes with delicious fish were amazing. They choose a delicious wine for you if you mention the type. The explanations of the dishes were short and simple, which was great. It was really delicious!! The cute octopus doll in front of the store ===========

I revisited Il Lato for lunch, having previously visited for dinner. They only serve lunch on Sundays. The lady who selects wines for you is skilled at pairing, so it's good to tell her your preferences and have her choose for you. This time, I had a glass of white wine for the first drink, and for the second drink and onwards, I had the 2016 Barolo from Italy, which is said to be a great vintage! It was slightly sweet and heavy but not too heavy, and very delicious! The lunch course included a lot: 4 fish dishes, bean minestrone soup, 2 pasta dishes (truffle topping +1500 yen), grilled Tajima beef and summer vegetable, dessert 1: peach compote and ice cream, dessert 2: classic pudding with Doraemon, and herbal tea with lavender. If you order coffee, it comes with milk in a cute container! The portions are quite generous. Women might not be able to finish it all. I'm used to eating course meals and have a big appetite, but for women, it might be a lot. Still, even if you prefer smaller portions, you might find the lunch course suitable. For a date, I recommend the smaller portion option. I hope this information is helpful.

I was curious after seeing it introduced on Ad-machi Heaven. I made a reservation at the counter. It was just the right amount of lively. I ordered the 16,000 yen course. I was overwhelmed by the numerous fish dishes. There were probably three dishes. Each one had its own personality, and the sauces were fantastic. The white wine went down smoothly. The pasta must have been handmade, as the texture and taste were impeccable. I wanted to eat more. The main meat dish. The cooking method and seasoning were exquisite! It was a bit pricey, but I would like to visit again.

This is a restaurant run by Chef Shigeki Furui, who has demonstrated his skills at restaurants such as Shinjuku Oriera and Minami-Aoyama Pegaso. Chef Furui often posts unique tweets on social media, particularly on Twitter. However, the dishes served at the restaurant are delicate and beautifully flavored, with Ohako fish dishes leading the way. On this day, dishes included Masunosuke, wild eel, Ainame, Kinmedai, and black abalone from Boso, all of which are impressive seafood choices rarely seen in Italian cuisine. The focus is on bringing out the natural flavors of the ingredients, with minimal external seasonings. It's quite unexpected to find such cuisine in a corner of Shinjuku known mostly for its drinking establishments. The wine selection is extensive, with options available by the bottle or glass to complement the dishes. The freedom to choose how to enjoy the wine is also appreciated. I look forward to visiting again when the colder season brings a variety of fish to the menu.

It is one of the most comfortable places in Shinjuku. They offer a wide variety of glass wines. The restaurant feels like an Italian-style seafood restaurant, with many dishes featuring gentle flavors that highlight the texture of the ingredients. It was a healthy course that didn't leave you feeling too full.

Visited for Sunday lunch with a reservation. The restaurant was fully booked. The interior is sophisticated casual. The staff were also very impressive. At first glance, it may seem typical, but once you taste the food, you can tell it stands out. The excellent cooking technique brings out the quality of the ingredients. Personally, if I'm paying 10,000 yen, I would want to be impressed, and I think this place is at that level. They are also able to create new flavors. The MVP today was the squid. While the seafood was outstanding, the duck was also quite delicious.

I visited the popular Italian restaurant Il Lato in Shinjuku Sanchome. It's an Italian restaurant where you can enjoy seafood dishes. They have counter seats and table seats. Many people seem to enjoy wine pairings, and there were also many solo diners, so I think it's popular among foodies. The dishes I had included bonito, octopus bread with Hokkaido cheese, taro gnocchi, minestrone soup, red snapper soup, cutlassfish with vinegar sauce, firefly squid and celery pasta, clam and bamboo shoot pasta with sansho pepper, Tajima beef lamp charcoal-grilled, ginger gelato, small sweets, and lavender tea. The seafood dishes were the main highlight, and it was enjoyable to try a variety of dishes. The gentle flavors that don't make you feel too full are also a nice feature. Thank you for the birthday plate. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

- Osteria Oriera, a restaurant by the former chef of a popular Italian restaurant in Shinjuku - An Italian restaurant with a focus on octopus dishes and seafood, but also offers delicious meat dishes like Tajima beef in the luxurious course - Despite opening in 2021, this restaurant has gained popularity and recognition, such as being in the top 5000 on Tabelog, among the top 100 Italian restaurants, and receiving the Gourmet Michelin award - The restaurant has 7 counter seats and 2 table seats, with a spacious and relaxed atmosphere similar to an open kitchen - Standard course (9900 yen) and luxurious course (16500 yen). This time, we tried the standard course, starting with octopus dish, ending with a Doraemon-themed dessert. It creates a friendly atmosphere in this authentic restaurant. The octopus dish reminded me of the Osteria Oriera from a few years ago, which was nostalgic for me - First dish: sardines with beans and vegetables - Second dish: squid with eggs - Third dish: minestrone soup - Fourth dish: red snapper - Fifth dish: conger eel - Sixth dish: Tajima beef (Gen?) Bolognese - Seventh dish: duck - Eighth dish: ginger ice cream with strawberries and cream - The dishes are simple yet delicious. The minestrone soup is especially tasty. The difference between the standard and luxurious courses lies in the quality of ingredients. The neighboring table's tuna dish caught our attention and made us curious. Even the standard course is satisfying, but we would like to try the luxurious course next time for the tuna and pudding.

I made a reservation for the seasonal chef's special course at an Italian restaurant known for delicious seafood dishes. The course included seared sardines and bean salad, focaccia with octopus, grilled spear squid with fuki-no-to sauce, minestrone soup, steamed red snapper with clam broth, oysters in butter sauce, beef bolognese, French rosemary lamb, ginger gelato, homemade financiers, and a Doraemon-themed choux cream. The seafood dishes were tasty as expected, and both the food and wine matched my preferences. I was so full that I couldn't even make it to the third glass of red wine!

"Il Lato" is a representative seafood Italian restaurant in Shinjuku, featured in the Gault et Millau 2022 guide. The chef, who previously worked at Osteria Oriera and Ristorante Pegaso, opened Il Lato. The restaurant has an open kitchen where you can see the cooking process, creating a lively atmosphere. The wine selection is mainly Italian, and the sommelier will recommend various options based on your preferences. The course menu includes a lot of seafood dishes, such as Mediterranean tuna in tomato sauce, octopus sausage with bread and focaccia, and a delicious minestrone soup. The main courses feature dishes like sweet bream from Hagi, perfectly grilled golden-eye snapper, and charcoal-grilled Japanese black beef. The dessert selection includes ginger gelato, strawberry pistachio cream puff, and espresso. The fish-focused menu ensures you won't get tired of eating, and the ambiance and service are excellent. The price for the course menu was around 16,500 yen, and with three glasses of wine, the total bill came to about 24,000 yen. The restaurant is located near Shinjuku-sanchome Station, just a minute's walk from the Marunouchi and Fukutoshin lines, and a 3-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station. The restaurant is open on weekdays and Saturdays from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Sundays and holidays from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Reservations are recommended, and the restaurant is closed on Wednesdays, with occasional irregular holidays. The restaurant does not have private rooms, smoking areas, or parking.

I went to a restaurant I had been wanting to visit for a while. The appetizers were yellowtail tuna, followed by octopus bread and tripe stewed in focaccia minestrone with red snapper sauce made from clam broth. Grilled red snapper (also known as blackthroat seaperch), pasta with fish collar ragu, roasted duck, and dessert were all very delicious.

I used the course menu for 16,500 yen. Including two drinks, it was around 21,000 yen per person. On average, every dish was delicious with a gentle and simple seasoning. The cost performance is good. The bread was surprisingly delicious, even compared to other popular restaurants known for their bread. Both pasta, meat, and fish were tasty, but having fish dishes consecutively felt a bit overwhelming. The dessert plate was cute. Good experience. (☆ indicates favorites) ☆Tuna ☆☆Bread... fluffy and tasty. ☆Taro Minestrone... modest portion Kinmedai (Golden Eye Snapper) ☆☆Sauteed Shirako (cod milt) with spinach and balsamic... balsamic was a nice touch ☆Menuke... delicious skin. Pasta with sardines and cherry tomatoes Anjurotti ☆Kobe beef... the beef was delicious, and the green peas were tasty too. Strawberry ice cream pudding and choux cream
