On a Sunday night, we checked in late and checked out early for a plan that cost around 26,000 yen. We lined up just before 7 o'clock and were able to eat leisurely. The squid sashimi and salmon roe were delicious as expected. Also, the pudding was very sweet and rich. The tomato juice was also tasty. We ended up focusing too much on seafood and didn't eat much else, but it was nice to enjoy sake and sparkling wine in the morning. The shrimp bisque soup was also delicious. However, we should have checked out at 11 o'clock after all. We ate so much that we couldn't move! We might stay again just to have the salmon roe bowl!

The food here is incredibly delicious! Almost all the menu items are... Especially the soy sauce-marinated salmon roe, squid noodles, zangi (fried chicken), pork Genghis Khan, pumpkin croquette, Inca no mezame potatoes, red meat melon, pudding, rich milk, tomato juice, squid rice, kasube stew, grilled walleye pollack, grilled herring, asparagus, and scallop soy sauce grilled. It might be worth coming to Hakodate just to have breakfast at this hotel.

Dinner was a course meal for 9,000 yen per person. *Appetizers... all 5 dishes were delicious. *Aperitif... it was kumquat liquor, which was okay. Personally, I think plum wine would have been better. *Steamed egg custard... it had no ingredients but was delicious. *Hokkaido squid somen... it was delicious, I wanted more. *Shabu-shabu of beef loin from Nanai-cho... this was not good. The beef loin itself was not very tasty. The worst part was the sesame ponzu sauce, with both flavors overpowering the taste of the meat. Also, when we were instructed to boil the vegetables first to bring out their umami before shabu-shabu, as soon as we put the meat in, there was a lot of scum. My excitement plummeted. Wouldn't it have been better to just grill it instead of shabu-shabu? *Red miso soup... I have lived in Aichi before, and I don't think this is a typical red miso soup. If it tastes good, then there's no problem, but honestly, instant miso soup tastes better. *Western-style sweet soup... what is this? Why make regular sweet soup taste worse? *Brown rice coffee... if you're going to serve this, please give us brown rice tea or regular coffee. *Custom sushi (all-you-can-eat nigiri sushi)... the sea urchin was delicious, but the rest was at the level of conveyor belt sushi. There seems to be too many unclear preferences. Just provide delicious food. The breakfast buffet here was the best I've ever had, so the shortcomings of the dinner stood out.

I stayed at the newly opened La Vista Hakodate Bay ANNEX in February this year. In the lobby, there are welcome drinks and snacks available. The matcha latte is delicious! This time, I stayed with a dinner and breakfast plan. The dinner was a Japanese set meal with Hokkaido beef shabu-shabu and a sushi buffet. You can order up to 5 rolls at a time, and the uni, chu-toro, scallops, and snow crab were all fresh and delicious. The shabu-shabu paired well with the sesame sauce and the Hokkaido beef. At night, you can also enjoy late-night ramen with a choice of salt or soy sauce flavor. It's authentic and tasty! For breakfast, they continue the tradition of La Vista Hakodate with unlimited salmon roe, chu-toro tuna sashimi, and more. You can even enjoy sparkling wine or sake in the morning. They also offer black oolong tea and authentic tomato juice. The Hakodate pudding for dessert was exquisite. The large communal bath has a spacious open-air bath on the top floor with a great view. They provide Hokkaido's soul drink, Guarana, in the changing room, and there's also a traditional ice caddy.

The breakfast buffet in Hokkaido is truly impressive. The grilled fish and vegetables are plentiful, with thick and flavorful salmon. They even serve soup curry. And of course, there's unlimited salmon roe to top off a salmon roe bowl. While fancy hotel dinner buffets may offer similar options, I believe this breakfast buffet is top-notch.
