I stayed in Asahikawa city. I was looking for a place to eat and drink in the night city, but it's New Year's Day the day after tomorrow, so not many shops are open... In the snow, I came across this shop. I thought I couldn't go wrong with yakitori, so I decided to visit! Despite the bustling atmosphere inside the shop, I was able to be seated fairly quickly, but many items were already sold out. It's the night before a holiday, after all... So, let's order from the available menu one by one, shall we? - Quail eggs in soy sauce - Addictive kimchi - Chicken meat - Pork meat - Gizzards - Chicken tenderloin with wasabi - Sticky bacon - Cheese-stuffed meatballs - Buttered winter cherry - Chewy fried rice cake, and more I love Sapporo Classic beer♪ヽ(*´∀`)ノ I wait for the grilled dishes with quail eggs and chicken bone soup. When I was young, I used to go to yakitori places in the Sapporo area. I remember how happy I was when they gave me warm chicken bone soup as a service while waiting for my order to be ready for takeout... And now, to think that the soup is being sold in bottles, it's quite nostalgic ( ´ー`) With quail eggs and kimchi, my beer glass is empty. The grilled dishes are cooked perfectly and seasoned well, making the beer go down even smoother (ノ∀`) I love the atmosphere of yakitori places more than the food itself. The fact that there are solo customers on both sides who kindly informed me of the sold-out menu for the day makes me think it's a good shop♪ I also like the energetic staff who don't get overwhelmed by the bustling atmosphere in the shop (^^) I'll be back at another yakitori place someday. Thank you for the meal (^^)/

The popular izakaya restaurant Kushitori-san, where I often go to have a budget-friendly meal, seems to have raised their prices as well (>_<). The drinks are now about 30% more expensive, and the food prices have gone up by around 20%. For example, the Sapporo Classic draft beer used to be 350 yen, but now it's 495 yen... The seating charge of 200 yen includes a pot of chicken broth per group, which you can pour yourself, and grated daikon radish is served only upon request. The "Early Bird Highball" specials include various highball drinks like whiskey highball, gym highball, green tea gin and soda, and umeshu sour, which used to be 180 yen until 7:00 PM but now costs 245 yen until 8:00 PM. The "Daruma Highball" is now 345 yen (regularly 560 yen) during certain time periods. The "Super Spicy Aonanban Tsukune" has gone up from 155 yen to 195 yen. There are also new menu items like the "Stick Stick Chicken" for 300 yen and the "Adult's Meat Tofu" for 450 yen, both in small portions. Although I didn't order it this time, the favorite potato fries with anchovy sauce have also increased in price from 310 yen to 450 yen! While many other restaurants are also raising their prices, this place was known for being affordable, but that might change in the future...

◯Susukino Birth Yakitori Restaurant ~Asahikawa City, Hokkaido~ ◯Kushitori On this night, thanks to the client's arrangement, a group of 9 event members visited Kushitori, a yakitori restaurant that has been in business for 42 years and is mainly located in the Hokkaido region. First, we all raised a toast! Then, we were served a gentle chicken soup to warm up our stomachs before the meal. After that, we ordered a variety of dishes including Italian salad, edamame, chicken tenderloin with wasabi, mochi bacon, potato fries, zangi (fried chicken), tsukune (chicken meatballs), cartilage tsukune, chicken breast meat, premium beef sagari, roasted caciocavallo cheese, onion rings, tsukune with plum and shiso, pork wrapped in young ginger, gizzards, and chicken wings. It was our first visit, and even though each portion was large, the quantity was sufficient for 11 pieces plus additional dishes. They also had Hokkaido-specific items like roasted caciocavallo cheese. We enjoyed our meal and drinks thoroughly. We are truly grateful to the client. Thank you for the feast! At the shopping park, there is a restaurant called Kushitori in Asahikawa. I visited their main store nearly 10 years ago, and this was my second time trying their food. However, I realized that you need to arrive early, or else items will be sold out. Kushitori is a yakitori chain restaurant in Hokkaido that has expanded to Sendai and the Kanto region. When I arrived around 8 pm, the area was already bustling with activity due to the opening of Asahikawa Harete. Inside Kushitori, it was almost full with a variety of customers such as businessmen, solo diners, and women dining alone. The menu seemed quite extensive at first glance, but in reality, they had less than 30 types of skewers. As the night went on, many items were sold out, including chicken skin, gizzards, liver, and miso-marinated organ meats. I was disappointed that many of the items I wanted to order were unavailable. They also had fried items like potatoes, onions, and chicken skin on the menu. The seasonal specials included eggplant, okra, and "adult" potato salad. I was intrigued by the "Pecoros" item on the menu and learned that it refers to small onions in French, which are also known as pearl onions. For drinks, I opted for a ginger ale, which came in a glass with the Kushitori logo. They also served grated radish as a complimentary appetizer, and I wondered if it was free or charged separately. The chicken broth soup they served was delicious and went well with rice. I started with two types of skewers: bacon-wrapped mochi and pork-wrapped ginger. The bacon-wrapped mochi needed to be eaten while still soft, and the pork-wrapped ginger was a new and interesting dish. Next, I tried three types of skewers: plum and wasabi chicken tenderloin, and bonjiri (tail meat). Despite my initial low expectations, the yakitori at Kushitori turned out to be surprisingly delicious. I also tried a dish called "Kaiso-yaki," which was not listed on their website, and it featured a savory salt flavor that paired well with sake. The eggplant and chicken miso dango, as well as the ginkgo nuts, had a presentation that resembled traditional Japanese sweets. I also tried two types of tsukune (chicken meatballs) - one with plum and shiso, and the other plain. Although they didn't compare to my favorite yakitori place, they were still enjoyable. I wanted to try the gizzards, but they were sold out after the man sitting across from me ordered four skewers. In the end, I couldn't resist ordering some fried onion rings.

Last time, Kushi Tori was good. They are open from 4 pm on Sundays, so I visited early. First, I tried the Umeshu Sour with crispy chicken hearts. The freshness and grilling of the chicken hearts were surprisingly good, far exceeding my expectations! This is a winning dish. Next, I had the pork and asparagus skewer, which is a classic item. I thought it wouldn't disappoint, but it turned out to be disappointing. It wasn't inedible, but the size was too small and it was overcooked. The spicy tsukune looked mild but had a surprising kick to it. It makes you want another beer. This one is delicious. The meat-stuffed green pepper was as expected - a perfect beer snack. The bitterness of the pepper is irresistible. The Ponpochi had a unique chewy texture and good fat. It's amazing that you can eat this at such a price. The Chicken Garlic was a repeat order from last time. It increases your appetite and is a favorite among men. I couldn't resist ordering another Umeshu Sour. The chicken soup served as an appetizer was a nice palate cleanser, especially with grated daikon. Eating and drinking all of this cost me 1760 yen. It's great value for money. I feel like coming back again tomorrow. Thank you for the meal!

Today's first stop at the bar was at Kushidori Asahikawa Go-Nana Ten. I started with a strong draft beer and enjoyed lemon sour with green chili tsukune and chicken motsu skewers. The chicken skin was also delicious. I had the usual daikon salad and soup as the appetizers. The green chili tsukune was quite spicy. After finishing my lemon sour, I ordered a highball and moved on to the next place.

Welcome.---------- August 2021 ----------A yakitori restaurant in the area in front of Asahikawa Station, along the Kaimono Park Avenue, the birthplace of Hokkaido |o| °д°)ノAutomatic door〜 The energetic and friendly staff members are wearing face shields and masks for complete protection. It can feel suffocating, right? U-shaped counter, booths, and spacious table seating available. Happy hour with "Lemon Sour, Otokoyama Sour" (= ´∀´)ノCover charge of 100 yen is considered a cooperation fee, of course. Grated radish and chicken broth are refillable. I wish they had offered it for 100 yen before... I never knew you could get refills, and I never knew you could do refills. Maybe because of the current situation, there are quite a few items missing from the skewer menu. The "Chicken Breast Meat" is tender and has an exquisite saltiness, but it doesn't feel like it's domestically produced... The "Tender Miso Hormone" is soft and tender, with a thick hormone that has a sweet and salty miso sauce. The "New Ginger Pork Roll" has a crispy texture of fresh ginger and a refreshing flavor, with a sweetness in the pork belly. The "Hina Skin" has a light and crispy texture when grilled. The "Ume Shiso Tsukune" has a soft and coarse ground texture, with a sour plum and shiso flavor. It feels like a beloved local yakitori restaurant, but maybe because of the current situation, it doesn't quite give off the vibe of a skewer place, and there are not many people around...

[First Visit on January 12, 2021] I'm on another business trip to Asahikawa starting from this day, this time for 2 nights and 3 days before returning to Sapporo to prepare for the first round of construction scheduled to start from Wednesday to Saturday next week. Compared to Sapporo, there is a lot of snow in Asahikawa city, but surprisingly the main roads are well cleared of snow, so I felt a little relieved. However, when I visited Rumoi in the morning, snow removal was not progressing, and the snow mountains along the roadside were quite something. (-""-;) For dinner tonight, I could have eaten in Sapporo, but I decided to visit "Kushitori Asahikawa Go-Nana Store" located along Kaimono Koen Street. As usual, there were not many people walking around Sanrok, and there were a few solo diners at Kushitori, but I didn't see any groups of 3 or more during my stay. I ordered 9 skewers, 1 draft beer, 2 highballs, an Italian salad, and pickles. This was my first time using Kushitori outside of Sapporo, but the taste was consistent, and the service depended on the education of each store and the individual staff's sense, providing a stable deliciousness and affordability. I was able to enjoy it without feeling uncomfortable as a solo diner. I didn't stay long and left quickly, heading to a ramen shop nearby for a finish. On a weekend in December, I had some errands to run in the city center. Since there was a lot of snow, I didn't want to bother with driving, so I took the bus. It was around 5pm, and I wanted to have a quick drink before heading back home. Despite the tough times we are facing, I thought I could relax a bit at Kushitoriya. Upon entering, I sanitized my hands, and I noticed that the counter seats were separated by acrylic partitions, while the table seats were divided by curtain rails. The staff were all wearing masks and face shields, ensuring a safe environment. Of course, I only took off my mask when eating or drinking. When I needed to talk to the staff or make additional orders, I made sure to put on my mask. Even though there were no large groups, most people who came in pairs also wore masks when conversing. The restaurant was taking thorough measures, and the customers were also practicing "mask dining" diligently. During the happy hour until 7pm, highballs and sours were half price. I ordered a "Yuzu Highball" for 158 yen (excluding tax) and decided to try the three limited-time menu items: "Stuffed Green Pepper" (149 yen), "Grilled Eggplant" (142 yen), and "Petit Coro Frank" (149 yen). The stuffed green pepper was delicious with the sauce. The Petit Coro Frank came in herb and cheese flavors with ketchup. Grilled eggplant is a common dish at home, but having it at Kushitoriya with soy sauce flavor was a nice change. For my second drink, I got a "Strong Highball" for 215 yen during happy hour. I also ordered "Tsukune with Ume Shiso" (131 yen), "Tsukune Cheese" (131 yen), and "Iburigakko Cream Cheese" (392 yen) because I was craving tsukune. As I started to feel a bit tipsy, I thought, "I want to drink sake." Especially after having Iburigakko, that feeling is natural. However, since I was enjoying the happy hour deals, I hesitated to order sake as it might be a waste. Then I found something interesting on the menu - a drink not listed but had a separate photo. It was a Sour made with Chitose Tsuru's "Hyakuhou," which was also half price until 7pm. I ordered the "Nigori Sake Hyakuhou Sour" for 168 yen during happy hour. This made me feel like I had a bit of sake. It was only 6pm, but prioritizing safety, I reluctantly decided to head back home.

Wow, "Kushitori" is really something! I wasn't that drunk, so I remember everything. We went there with my wife, just the two of us, and she was saying, "It's been a while since we last came here." I've been to "Kushitori" alone three times after going with my wife, but I never thought, "Today was good." However, today was a great choice of restaurant. When we left the third place, my wife wasn't even thinking about going to a fourth place, and I knew that without her saying anything. She knew I wouldn't just quietly go home. "Shall we go to 'Kushitori'?" she said. I would have been fine with 'Kushitori' or any other place. We sat at the counter, which is usually crowded and hard to get a seat at 'Kushitori,' but today we were able to. I ordered beer, my wife ordered beer, and I ordered a sweet potato shochu with less hot water. When I said "strong," they had to put more shochu, so I said "less hot water," but they brought it with less shochu instead. It was too hot to drink and didn't taste like shochu at all. I told the waitress, "I said less hot water," and she brought the guy who made it. I explained to him, but he didn't understand, and it turned into an argument about hot water. I gave up and said, "Forget it!" After that, there were more incidents, and my wife seemed upset, taking it out on me. I guess I have to reflect on my actions sometimes. But today... well. The beer poured by someone who doesn't care about it is often not good, and my wife and I exchanged a wry smile. "Look, there's mochi bacon," as if I thought that would improve the mood. I ordered the mochi bacon. The mochi was soft and unpleasant, not because I was overjoyed, but because the texture was not mochi-like. The bacon was okay, but the mochi bacon here stands out for its cheapness. The chicken skewers are big and delicious, with a normal taste that's quite satisfying. On the other hand, the pork skewers have poor quality meat, but the taste is okay, so it's fine. But the quail eggs are what you should order. Don't put them on the same plate. Well, it seems like it's better to go home now. Let's go home.

I arrived in Asahikawa from Furano and checked into my hotel. After dropping off my luggage, I headed to 3・6 restaurant. Unfortunately, all the popular restaurants I had in mind were fully booked and I couldn't get in. It was my first time being rejected so many times in Asahikawa. The places I wanted to try were crowded with young people, making me wonder if it was safe in terms of COVID-19. Since I was hungry, I decided to peek into Kushitori restaurant. It was empty, so I decided to pass the time there and revisit the list of restaurants I had in mind. I ordered my usual highball and tried dishes like spicy chicken skewers, chicken with wasabi, salted hormone, miso hormone, and two eel skewers. Asahikawa doesn't seem to be as popular for Kushitori as Sapporo, but the food was delicious and reasonably priced. I enjoyed my meal and the eel skewers were a pleasant surprise at that price.

29/05/20 A group of 6 colleagues gathered for a social gathering at the workplace. It was the first weekend after the lifting of the state of emergency. It had been a while since we went out for drinks. Tonight, we joined the neighboring department's drinking party. Our boss sang passionately, thank you for your consideration! The time was 5:57 PM. Normally on weekends, we wouldn't be able to get in without a reservation. However, we were able to easily enter without one. It seems like the foot traffic in the entertainment district hasn't fully returned yet. Sorry for making the junior staff run to secure seats. At the entrance, there was hand sanitizer, and all the staff wore face shields (surprising). We were guided to a private room in the back. This is one of the top-rated izakaya chains in the region. They were very attentive and accommodating. However, once we started drinking, it was the usual yakitori! The beer was well-maintained, and we were grateful for the half-price highball until 7 PM. The grilled dishes were reliably delicious. We had light-hearted conversations and jokes. This is the kind of normalcy a salaryman should have. It made me happy. I'm grateful to the staff at the restaurant for creating a safe environment. I look forward to continuing our relationship. P.S. Happy birthday to the junior staff member!

Two glasses of draft beer, two skewers of chicken, two skewers of pork, and one skewer of chicken breast. After that, we went to Kushi Tori for a quick drink. It's cheap, delicious, and fast, making it a great place for a casual drink. Plus, you can get free refills of grated daikon radish and soup, so it feels like a good deal.

This might be my third visit here. It's cheap, delicious, and great for solo diners or groups. I haven't been here solo before, but the first time I came, I was overwhelmed by the "Mega Highball" and the strong, beautiful women who could drink a lot. It's a great place for those who can handle their drinks. I first came with friends to witness a mixer, and it turned out to be a fun debut at Torisuke. The mixer went well, and later there was a happy ending. This time, I revisited after a long time and enjoyed casual yakitori while reminiscing about old memories. I realized once again that Torisuke is amazing. The grilled chicken and seasoning are just right, and the variety of options and side dishes are plentiful. It's a wholesome restaurant that can be enjoyed in various situations. Thank you for the meal!

Long time no see! I met up with my enthusiastic singing boss and a colleague from the neighborhood, making it a group of three. It was the first time drinking with my neighbor colleague since I moved. Our original plan was to go to a yakitori restaurant called "Flirty," but everywhere was fully booked on a weekday (tears). So, we ended up here. I used to frequent this place, "Kushitori," when I was on a business trip in Sapporo. We only had one beer each because there was a time-limited special on highball drinks until 7 PM. In Asahikawa, they have a limited edition potato fry, which we promptly ordered. The food here is consistently good, and the prices are reasonable. We enjoyed our skewers and kept ordering more drinks. My colleague's bottle was emptied in no time. Excuse me, may I have a bottle of sweet potato shochu and some ice and water, please? The party started at 6:30 PM and ended at 9:40 PM. I think I can catch the bus home somehow. This is a casual yakitori chain originating from Sapporo. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Sarudori-san had been getting takeout from this place all the time, but finally decided to dine in to try out something special. They started with grated daikon radish as a complimentary appetizer, which was refreshing and tasty. They also enjoyed the complimentary soup. They toasted with beer and ordered a special dish that can only be eaten at the restaurant. The Mochi Bacon special, with five different toppings on four skewers each, was delicious. They also ordered various other skewers like black-haired wagyu rib roast, potato, chicken liver, gizzard, and pork. Everything was delicious, especially when paired with beer. They concluded that yakitori is the best after all. Cheers to delicious food!

There are two locations of Kushitori in Asahikawa. This time, I went to the one closer to the hotel for a late-night snack. We received grated daikon as a service, but the soup did not come. Maybe because it was past 10 o'clock? Usually, grated daikon and chicken soup come as a service first. I go to various yakitori places, but I always end up at Kushitori because it's delicious and affordable. It was the perfect way to end the last night of the Heisei era. I recommend the "chicken cooked rice," which takes about 30 minutes but is worth the wait. It's delicious on its own, but it's even better when you add chicken broth and eat it as ochazuke! My companion said they come to Kushitori mainly to eat the "chicken kamameshi," and I agree. I also love it. The stuffed bell peppers were also very delicious! Overall, everything I tried was delicious. They are currently having a fair featuring mochi bacon and hormone, where you can enjoy various flavors with these two items. It was delicious. Looking forward to Reiwa as well!

When I lived in Sapporo, it was common to see subway stations nearby with a similar image... However, in Asahikawa, there are only two stores in the drinking district, Sanroku area. There are always waiting customers, but today it is empty. Even in those two stores, the side menu varies slightly. Today, I'm in the mood for this one. I decided to visit after a long time and found Mr. ○Fujita, who used to work at the Asahikawa main store. When I lived in the Higashi ward of Sapporo, I used to visit the Motomachi store nearby for drinks, and the student part-timer back then is now the store manager. I didn't know him well enough to call him like my child, but he remembered my face, and I am happy to see his growth. 【Okunokaze Special Junmai】580 yen 【Sapporo Classic】380 yen There were new menu items that had changed during my absence, so I ordered them. 【Mochi Bacon 5-piece set】820 yen - Iso-be style mochi bacon 180 yen - Cheese mochi bacon 180 yen - Mochi bacon 150 yen - Mochi bacon with butter soy sauce 180 yen - Mochi bacon with mentaiko mayo 180 yen It's a 50 yen saving (^-^; The mentaiko mayo is delicious among these. 【Spicy Aonanban Tsukune】150 yen The spiciness varies depending on the day (^-^; Today it's mild. 【Chicken Dakimomo】220 yen It seems to be chicken breast wrapped in chicken skin... The skin's fat is juicy♪ Although I didn't order it, they also have one-item dishes such as beef tripe hot pot, ray fin, and grilled fish, which were not available at the Motomachi store. It seems to be thriving, so I hope they will expand their stores more. ♬

I had some time before a drinking party, so I decided to have a drink since it was cold outside. I sat at a seat for one person, ordered a beer, and also ordered two skewers of chicken. Everything was normal up to that point, but... after I placed my order, a man who seemed to be the manager appeared and said, "We are a yakitori restaurant, so you can order just one skewer if you want." It was as if he was implying that because they are a yakitori restaurant, I should order at least one skewer. It was unexpected for a man who seemed to be the manager to make such a comment without confirming the customer's order. I'm not sure if it's a lack of employee training or if that particular staff member is not suited for customer service. I might go back to the restaurant again, so I hope they will be more careful to avoid such interactions with other customers.

This is my first time at Kushitori-san, the 5.7 store. They are open on weekends from 3 pm. The inside is full of older men and women. Everyone loves kushidori! I always order the pork miso roll and other skewers. It was delicious. It's casual and affordable. The best! Thank you for the meal!
