イラマチ男タコ蔵
Aosan Sushi Toshizaki Shibuya, Toshizaki's second store, which I used to visit a few times when it first opened, but it became difficult to make reservations, so I drifted away. It stands just a little past the former famous restaurant "Kaimi". Master Tanaka, who hails from Amakusa, is still in his late twenties, but he exudes a solid and wonderful atmosphere. It's not easy to create this kind of atmosphere, even more so than making delicious sushi. And the sushi he makes is now much more beautiful than when the store first opened. It has become more unique, both in terms of the rice and the work, and it has diverged from the head chef at the main store in Shibuya, Master Mouri. I couldn't help but admire both Master Mouri and now Master Tanaka as individuals. Now, the dishes I had this time are as follows:
[Appetizers]
- Mozuku & Wakame
- Firefly squid with vinegar miso
- Cherry salmon
- Clear soup with clams
[Nigiri Sushi]
- Golden eye snapper
- Squid
- Sardine
- Horsehair crab
- Yellowtail
- Tuna
- Kojika (baby striped jack)
- Abalone with liver sauce
- Island shrimp & sea urchin
- Sea urchin
- Conger eel
[Additional]
- Smelt
- Meat
- Dried mullet roe
Master Tanaka's family seems to run a farm, and they serve meat sushi as the closing dish here. Depending on the meat they have that day, they may serve it as nigiri or hand rolls, or cook it differently. This time it was served as nigiri. After eating all this and drinking at a rapid pace, the bill came to about 15,000 yen. Even if you treat your date here, it'll only cost around 30,000 yen, which is cheaper than going to a bar in Nishi-Azabu afterwards. It's crazy. Complete price destruction. As someone who visits about 150 sushi restaurants a year, I can say with certainty that this place has the best cost performance in Tokyo. I had predicted in a review in January 2021 that "in the near future, it will be difficult to make reservations," and it has indeed become difficult. However, recently there have been some vacancies available, so I might start visiting more often. Thank you, Master Tanaka. It's cheap, delicious, fun, and amazing.
