I've received this bread multiple times since my time in Fukuoka. Back then, I had no idea it was from such a renowned bakery. I simply thought it was delicious. But now, it's safe to say this bakery is the best in Japan, given its immense popularity and the deliciousness of its bread. Finally, I made it there after moving to Tokyo. It was a Saturday. Arriving 45 minutes before opening, there was already a line forming! Wow. By opening time, there were 20 people ahead of me. Despite only two staff members, they were incredibly attentive. They patiently answered customers' questions, exuding humility. It was truly impressive. And then it was my turn. I learned that you could buy bread by weight, starting from just one slice. What a relief! My freezer is always packed with bread, so I decided to be conservative with my purchases. Here's what I got: - Today's Adlib Bread: A chewy bread made from French wheat. No acidity, just pure chewiness. I couldn't help but devour it, especially with some olive oil. - ? Bread: Cut into triangles, also chewy. The taste of wheat is intense! - Half-cut Bread: Chewy with a slight acidity. I'm not usually a fan of acidic bread, but this one was so good, especially with toppings like prosciutto, arugula, and pork rillettes. I could eat it endlessly! - Pain aux Fruits Rouges: I had two slices. Made with only grape juice instead of water. It's filled with six types of nuts, eight types of fruits, and three types of peel. Such a luxurious bread! This is the bread I've been getting since old times. I used to think, "Wow, Tokyo has such delicious bread." - Special Rose: Also two slices. It has the scent of roses, with edible roses, peaches, strawberries, and more. This is a lovely bread, maybe for Mother's Day. - Chef's Adlib Bread: Two slices with three types of olives, tomatoes, and more. Perfect with wine! - Citron Lemon: It's shaped like a lemon, but it's not a dessert, it's bread! (I initially thought it was lemon cake, haha.) It's a refreshing bread with lemon peel inside. The shape is adorable. The receipt listed the items, but without the bread names, so I couldn't tell which was which. The Citron Lemon was easy to identify though! Its taste is truly remarkable, surpassing all the bread I've had before. And the hospitality of the shop makes it even better. With such qualities, it's no wonder it will continue to be popular. By the time I left, the line had gotten even longer.

There is a shop on the corner after 2 PM on Tuesdays. It has a glass exterior, allowing you to peek inside and see various bread for sale. Today's special is Adlib Bread with flavors like raspberry and cranberry. Although they look hard, they are actually soft and chewy, with plenty of fruit filling. The owner is very friendly and welcoming with a lovely smile. They accept cash only (it's best to avoid using ¥10,000 bills), and photography is not allowed. (☆4.03 860 reviews)

I visited around 14:30 on a weekday and there was only one person ahead of me, so I could make a purchase quickly. There were around 15 varieties, and I think there might be more if you go early. The service was as polite as I had seen in reviews, and they also explained the bread, which made me happy. Everything in the photos cost around 3,700 yen (with the croissant costing about 700 yen).

Visited "L'atelier de Plaisir," a bakery highly praised on Tabelog with consecutive awards like Bronze and Top 100 Bakeries. Despite expecting some wait, I underestimated the crowd. Arriving just before opening, I found around 10 people ahead of me. I thought I'd make a quick purchase and leave, but alas, only three people were inside, each filling their bags to the brim, and the staff seemed overwhelmed. I finally got in after a 50-minute wait. The shop doesn't allow photography, and items aren't listed on receipts, making it hard to recall purchases. However, I managed to note down some items displayed outside during the wait. Inside, you specify what you want, with some items pre-cut or custom-cut based on your preference. The staff is polite, explaining each item's features and best ways to enjoy them. However, with multiple purchases, it's easy to forget what's what! Here are some items I remember: - Ancient Wheat Specialty: ¥530 (sold out upon entry) - Arla Foliage de Moule: ¥580 - Pleasure 2019: ¥490 - Weekly Amitié: 5 yen per gram - Special Rose: 4 yen per gram - Situron: ¥190 - Daily Misch: price not listed - Baton: ¥450 - Chocolate and Orange: ¥480 - Chef's Adlib Bread: 4 yen per gram - Staff's Recommended Bread: 3.2 yen per gram - Seasonal Recommended Bread: Coco: ¥590 - Pan a Ruir Rive: 7.8 yen per gram - Le Ban de Meteu: 2.6 yen per gram - Weekly Kuglof: Small ¥750, Medium ¥1500, Large ¥3000 - Pan Combre: 2.6 yen per gram - Recommended Bread with Sparta Wheat: unspecified - Bread with Nwa and Lesan o Fromage: ¥360 Back home, I shared some for breakfast and lunch, saving the rest for dinner. The Kuglof, with mango powder, six fruits, and two peels, stood out with its volcanic shape and syrup container. It was delightful. The Bread with Nwa and Lesan o Fromage, rich with cream cheese and black honey, might be too heavy for some. Overall, while taste preferences may differ, the plain bread, enjoyed with butter or ham, was a hit. Next time, I'll arrive earlier to choose my favorites. Thanks for the feast!

Arrived at 13:00. Some items were already sold out, indicating it's a renowned shop. Introducing the "Pan O Fruits Rouge 2022": A jewel-like experience in your mouth! Packed with numerous large nuts, fruits, and fruit peels – a fruity and nutty delight. The cranberry's acidity stands out as a distinctive accent. Enjoy the juicy fruits, crunchy nuts, and moist bread infused with fruit juices. The rebaking reveals even more fruitiness. Citrus peels add a delightful twist to the fruity taste. Featuring eight fruits like figs, golden raisins, cranberries, and six nuts including pistachios and macadamias. Three types of peels – orange, iyokan, and yuzu. Enhanced with a subtle vanilla bean fragrance. Introducing the "Baguette Paysanne": Different from previous baguettes, it showcases the taste of rye flour. Upon chewing, a sourness spreads, leaving a strong rye flavor. The exterior is crispy while the interior is moist and chewy due to higher moisture content. It becomes addictive! Finally, the "Pan O Coco": Offers a gentle sweetness with fluffy bread filled generously with mango and other sweet fruits. The large mango chunks enhance the sweetness, creating a dessert-like finish. The sweet citrus scent lingers. With rum-soaked mangoes, it's a unique and delightful bread that stands out from the rest!

Whenever I come to Soshigaya-Okura Station, I always want to stop by here: L'Atelier de Plaisir ✨✨. This time, I visited a bit earlier than usual and found a longer line than before, with about 7-8 people waiting outside and only about 3 groups inside. It operates on a system where you tell the staff what you want, and they get it for you. Today, I got my usual favorite, the Pain aux Fruits Rouges 20228, which contains 8 types of fruits, 6 types of nuts, 3 types of peels, and vanilla beans. It's priced at ¥3.8 per gram, and half a loaf is about 300 grams. I also got this week's Amitié, which includes mango, pineapple, cranberry, red raisins, golden raisins, green raisins, Sun Muscat raisins, orange peel, and lemon peel, priced at ¥4 per gram, with half a loaf also around 300g. Additionally, I bought a small Kouglof for this week, which is kneaded with vanilla beans and contains La France pears, golden raisins, red raisins, green raisins, cranberries, currants, orange peel, and iyokan peel, accompanied by a separate dropper filled with maple syrup. Upon returning home, I took photos of the beautifully cut bread (⋆ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈). The Fruits Rouges is an incredible combination that I always crave ✨✨, packed with deliciousness. This week's Amitié feels like eating a fruit confection, with a rich, concentrated natural sweetness. It's easy to forget it's bread (*´艸`). The Kouglof, although a pastry, was also packed with deliciousness, especially after drizzling the syrup over it before cutting ✨✨( ˶>ᴗ<˶). Both the owner and his wife are truly polite and provide wonderful service. Thank you for the delicious meal - I'll be back again ✨✨❣️

◼️A renowned bakery run by a "Natural Yeast Master," where each bread boasts a combination of 2 to 4 homemade fermented starters, completely yeast-free. It's incredibly popular, with long queues and a tendency to sell out quickly. No photography allowed inside the store. ◆Le Pain de Metayer: A bread crafted from a blend of rye and wheat flours, using two different organic rye flours and three types of wheat flours, resulting in a subtle sourness and sweetness. Priced at 1g/¥2.6. ◆Sweet Lemon: Made with lemon and orange peels, shaped like adorable lemons, and priced at a bargain of 190 yen. ◼️The Store: Established in 2007 by Chef Yuji Tanaka, who emphasizes the joy and pleasure of baking, as implied by the name "PLAISIR," which means "pleasure" or "joy" in French. ◼️◼️The opening hours are late, but the store is located in a quiet residential area, attracting both local regulars and enthusiastic patrons. By evening, they often run out of bread due to high demand. The customer service is excellent, making it a truly outstanding establishment.

I arrived at the store at 11:46, and there were already 5 people in line. The store opened at 12:00, and I left after buying bread at 12:20. People entered the store in groups of 3 or 4, choosing bread. Since all options looked delicious and it was hard to decide, I recommend picking bread through the glass before entering. You can also buy slices of your favorite parts. I bought a half-cut one without knowing the weight, and it turned out to be more expensive than expected. However, the bread was very satisfying with a substantial taste, filled with nuts and fruits. The staff were extremely kind and provided excellent service, making the shopping experience enjoyable. ❤️

Today, I had the opportunity to explore some weekday-only shops due to summer vacation. I visited shops in Shinbashi and Musashishinjo before heading to Soshigaya-Okura, where I finally stopped by "L'atelier de Plaisir" to buy some bread. The shop has a simple exterior with brick-like walls and glass windows. Despite visiting after 3 p.m., the selection was somewhat limited, but I decided to purchase this week's Kugelhopf (¥750), Pain au Fruit Rouge 2022 (¥547), Special ROSE (¥356), and Plaisir 2019 (¥490). First, I tried this week's Kugelhopf, and it was delicious! The moist dough, infused with organic orange paste and vanilla beans, had a wonderful flavor. It contained a mix of orange peel, cranberries, currants, blueberries, red raisins, and yuzu peel, with a subtle hint of alcohol. Drizzling maple syrup on top enhanced its flavor even more, making it absolutely delightful! The Pain au Fruit Rouge 2022 had a slightly moist texture, made only with grape juice, and was packed with eight types of fruits, six types of nuts, three types of peels, and vanilla beans. The balanced mix of sweet and tangy dried fruits and crunchy nuts made it incredibly tasty and satisfying. The Special ROSE had a delightful aroma, and today's version featured strawberries, raspberries, white peaches, and cranberries, adding a lovely berry flavor. As for the Plaisir 2019, its crust wasn't too hard, and the crumb was pleasantly chewy with a strong wheat aroma and a subtle sourness. The combination of various types of homemade fermented dough, carefully selected wheat, and mixed dried fruits and nuts made these breads exceptionally appealing. The well-balanced flavors left a lasting impression, and I was more than satisfied with my experience. The staff's excellent service also stood out, and although the limited operating days pose a challenge for me personally, I look forward to visiting again, perhaps during a long weekend.

Between Zusshigaya-Oozora and Seijogakuenmae stations, there is a small bakery. When I visited a few years ago around 3 pm, they were already sold out, so this time I went at 1:30 pm and there was a small line. It seems the opening time has changed since my last visit; even at 1:30 pm, more than half of the varieties were still available. They specialize in bread with a dense mix of nuts and fruits. Buying a whole loaf costs around 2000 yen, but since they sell it by weight, you can get your preferred quantity and thickness. The staff is very friendly. It felt more like eating nuts and fruits than bread. The bread had a slightly tangy taste, and while it's undoubtedly delicious, I didn't feel it stood out significantly compared to other bakeries offering nut and fruit-based bread. Personally, I prefer bread similar to that of Vigo.

Arrived at 2 p.m. on a weekday without waiting in line. There were still plenty of pastries left, much to my surprise. With permission, I took a photo since I couldn't remember the names of the items. "Pain au Fruity Rouge 2022" had nuts incorporated into the dough, packed densely with nuts rather than just having them sprinkled in. I bought a piece for about 900 yen, sliced, and it was just under 15 centimeters. They mentioned a whole unsliced loaf would be around 2000 yen. I definitely want to try this again! "Plaisir 2019" wasn't super hard, more on the softer side. When you bite into it, there's a subtle wheat flavor that spreads. Reminds me of a madeleine with citron orange and lemon.

Walking from Sugahara Daizo Station, I can't help but feel excited, though I can only make this journey about once a year. I wonder if they'll have enough bread and how long the queue might be. But to my surprise, there was no wait, a great selection, and I even got permission to take photos inside the store – a heartfelt thank you! They were meticulous with product descriptions, making shopping a pleasure. Here's what I found: - Citron Bread: A bread baked in the shape of a lemon, with lemon and orange peel inside. - Special Rose Bread: Loaded with edible roses, strawberries, raspberries, white peaches, cranberries, it's a treat! - Pain de Fruits Rouge 2022: Made with grape juice, this bread contains 8 types of fruits, 6 types of nuts, 3 types of peel, and vanilla beans. The aroma of orange, iyokan, and yuzu peel is divine. - Chocolat et Orange: A bread with organic stone-milled flour, organic chocolate, orange peel, and almonds – a must-buy for orange chocolate lovers. - Weekly Kugelhopf: Made with organic orange paste, vanilla beans, and filled with oranges, cranberries, currants, blueberries, red raisins, and citrus peel. I love having it with tea. - Daily Mish: A rustic bread with high water content, they change the acidity and flour composition regularly. It's great for sandwiches with marinated vegetables or fish at home. The world of bread is fascinating. I'll cherish these delicious and beautiful breads.

I lined up before the store opened and bought 15 types of bread☆ I love hard bread, so it was difficult to choose because they all looked delicious. They're just too delicious♡ I've eaten at about 100 bakeries, but I've never had bread like this before! If there's a bakery similar to Plaisir, I would love to know. However, the line can be quite long, so it might be tough for those who aren't big fans of bread.

Even someone like me, who doesn't know much about bread, has known about Plesir for over a decade. I finally went to this bakery, which has been ranked number one for a long time. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes, I entered the shop. Naturally, I couldn't understand the bread or its descriptions just by looking (;^ω^), so I asked the staff for recommendations and bought the following three items. On my way home, I enjoyed them with red wine and prosciutto I bought at the Ito-Yokado in front of Ageo station, along with GERARD's Camembert cheese. First up was Plesir. It looks hard at first glance, but surprisingly, it's fluffy & moist inside. Even I could tell it was delicious, haha. Moreover, eating it with cheese and prosciutto, and sipping red wine made for the best combination (。→∀←。) Yummy!! The Kugelhopf seems more like a confectionary than bread? The Special ROSE contains edible roses and four types of fruit. Both were on the sweeter side, different from Plesir. They were delicious, but I wonder if I should have chosen more bread-like bread? That was my intention, after all (;^ω^) Well, since Plesir was good, it's okay (๑•ㅂ•)ok❢ Plesir 2019: 490 yen This week's Kugelhopf (small): 750 yen Special ROSE (one slice): 164 yen

I didn't think I'd have a chance to visit this area, so I thought it would be tough to come here, but surprisingly, I had a chance to go to Kanagawa, so I was able to visit by chance. I was a bit worried because a review mentioned that photography wasn't allowed, thinking the staff might be difficult, but they were really friendly. The men were smiling, and even the motherly woman explained the breads politely. I ended up buying six types, and I was happy that I could buy them in small sizes by weight. It cost 3710 yen. The bread with various dried fruits and nuts was dangerously delicious. They also sold Kugelhopf, which was nice. However, it was sad that bread with coconut milk and black tea was already sold out. I guess I'd like to come around the time they open to try getting those. Well, it might be challenging though! (laughs)

I visited L'Atelier du Pain twice before, but both times they were sold out, which was disappointing. Determined to try again, I went on a weekday morning and managed to get there when they still had a few items left. I bought the Pan Complet. It's a popular bakery, reminiscent of Pan de Philosophie.

I thought it was about having a bronze bakery, but it turned out like this! I became a fan of this place. The combination of chocolate, orange, and almond nuts in this hearty bread creates a satisfying chewiness. It makes you crave milk. The bread-cake-like dough welcomes you with apricots, raisins, and various dried fruits, all deliciously incorporated. Firm bread with dried fruits inside! It's packed with dreams! It's the best combination! It's the most delicious bakery I've ever been to! You should try it at least once. Criteria for evaluation: □ Cost performance is high □ Payment by cash Scoring criteria [Overall score, taste, service, atmosphere]: 4.0 or higher: I want to visit regularly, confidently recommend to friends because it's so delicious 3.8 or higher: I want to revisit, can confidently recommend to friends because it's so delicious 3.7: There is a possibility of revisiting in the future because it's so delicious 3.6: It's sufficiently delicious when considering specialization or cost performance 3.5: It's just delicious 3.5 or lower: Not recommended

In the evening, at a renowned bakery in Soshigaya-Okura, there was still a wide selection of breads available. Despite the temptation to buy too much, I fought against it and carefully selected my breads. This week, I chose the Amitié and the Pain Provençal au Fromage et à la Tomate. Despite being a busy establishment, the customer service remained consistently pleasant. The breads were delicious to the point where each bite was savored.

Store Name: L'Atelier du Préjeu Location: Soshigaya-Okura, Bakery shop, approximately 5 minutes on foot from Soshigaya-Okura Station on the Odakyu Line. Walk along the tracks a bit, and you'll find this shop. The interior of the store prohibits photography. There are both male and female staff members, and both of them provide incredibly friendly and kind service. It was my first visit, and the shopping experience was very pleasant. The purchased bread included White Peach Kugelhopf, Chocolat et Orangette (Chocolate and Orange) - I forgot the exact name. Despite not being a fan of hard bread, the bread here is exceptional! I was impressed by the rich flavor and taste of these delicious breads. The White Peach Kugelhopf, available only during this season, was a fortunate find during my favorite peach season. It was incredibly delicious. The Chocolat et Orangette, despite being a hard bread, had a bold and tasty sweetness, not losing to desserts. It's sizable but easy to finish alone. The Orangette has orange peel inside, and it was delightfully chewy and tasty. All the bread was so delicious that I now understand why it's a Bronze-rated shop on Tabelog (a restaurant review site). I will definitely go back for more!

This time, I visited L'Atelier du Pétrisseur. I had some errands in Chitose Funabashi and when I looked for a delicious bakery nearby, I found one with a rating of 3.9 on Tabelog in the next station, so I decided to go there spontaneously. When I arrived around 3:00 PM, there were only a few breads left. It seems like a popular place, so visiting early is a good idea. They mainly offer hard-type bread, and all of them looked delicious. This time, I purchased a bread with raspberries in it. The outside of the bread is slightly hard, but the inside is soft and has lots of toppings mixed in, making it very delicious. I forgot the name of the product, and the content is a bit incomplete, but there's no doubt that it's a very tasty bread. Thank you for the meal.
