This was my first time coming at night. I had made a reservation for one person to quietly enjoy some drinks, but in the evening, I got a sudden call from a group friend. I managed to get in by asking the restaurant and other customers for a favor. On this day, I decided to only eat my favorite things. I had some appetizers with my drinks and as for the sushi, you can see it in the photo. The gizzard shad was in season at that time. To be honest, I have never found gizzard shad to be particularly delicious.

On this day, the hirame konbu-shime and engawa were exquisite! Compared to sushi restaurants where reservations are difficult to get, the sushi at Jyanomi is far better. Many foreign and Japanese customers are satisfied, having decided that because a restaurant is popular and hard to reserve, the sushi must be delicious. Of course, these restaurants are not bad, but they are not worth waiting for a reservation. The true authentic sushi restaurants are those that have maintained tradition without riding the sushi boom.

The atmosphere seemed a bit intimidating at night, so I visited for lunch for the first time. Since it was Saturday afternoon, I called ahead before going. Walk-ins were being turned away, so it might be better to make a reservation on holidays. I had the Edomae bara chirashi with an additional piece of scallop. The sushi rice was seasoned with red vinegar, and the shari (sushi rice) was dark in color, which was unique. Despite being a lunch menu, the atmosphere wasn't too formal, and you can enjoy delicious sushi to your heart's content. My friend was impressed by the eel and scallop sushi. Next time, I plan to challenge the 10-piece sushi assortment.

A long-established sushi restaurant located in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. When talking about the history of sushi, this place cannot be overlooked. The variety of fish changes daily, such as the flounder marinated in kombu and the gizzard shad on this day, both of which were incredibly delicious. The red tuna and medium fatty tuna were also exceptional, making it a must-visit spot for sushi lovers. Every dish is top-notch and offers great value for money. It's a place you'll want to visit again and again.

[September 1st, Night 1/2] September 1st is the day when government personnel changes are announced. To avoid the rush, I decided to go early in the evening and leave promptly, so I made a reservation for 5:00 pm and arrived at the restaurant. For the first hour or so, I enjoyed a calm atmosphere while savoring some sushi. I had 2 types of sashimi, tamagoyaki (egg omelette), 9 pieces of nigiri sushi, 2 rolls, and 5 non-alcoholic beers before leaving. The highlight of the meal was the marinated (fatty tuna), which had a delicate flavor and smooth texture. Although I ate them out of order, the kanpachi (amberjack) had a firm texture and a sweet taste.

I used it for a business lunch meeting. It is a long-established Edo-style sushi restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Mitsukoshimae Station. The restaurant allows reservations online, and they were helpful in advising on dislikes of certain sushi toppings. The exterior and interior of the restaurant were clean and suitable for business meetings. I ordered the Nigiri set and sushi roll course, which came with soup. The sushi toppings were of good quality and delicious, but personally, I found the vinegar in the sushi rice to be too strong, making it too sour, and the rice was a bit hard. The use of red vinegar is a characteristic of Edo-style sushi, and the staff explained that the sushi already has flavor so soy sauce is not necessary, but I personally found it a bit off-putting. The taste of the sushi rice can be subjective to individual preferences and the restaurant's style. Overall, it was a good restaurant. It was my first experience at a long-established Edo-style sushi restaurant, so I would like to try other restaurants and compare in the future.

Visited the counter seats at the end of the bar on July 8, 2023. Despite the fair being held at Mitsukoshi and the staff being busy, the owner and staff were full of energy and brightness. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

I went there because it was relatively inexpensive and had high reviews, about ¥13,000 per person. However, it was a very disappointing restaurant. After arriving, we ordered the ¥8,000 course. Here is the breakdown of the dishes we had: - Pickles → too salty - Sea grapes and seaweed → extremely salty - Assorted small dishes → bland and not tasty, too salty - Sashimi → 3 types, 6 pieces, not very good - Grilled fish → only dish that was okay - Nigiri sushi (8 pieces) → all very salty, almost unbearable to eat. Did they use salt in the rice too? Not tasty at all - Chawanmushi (savory egg custard) → a bit salty - Dessert → vanilla, but oddly salty. Overall, everything was too salty! Did they make a mistake with the salt? Is everything okay? For a relatively inexpensive place in Ginza, the taste was disappointing. It was just a few minutes from the nearest station. They had counter seats, table seats, and a separate area. The service was also quite bad. The efficiency of serving the dishes was terrible. It's frustrating to waste time. Standing sushi bars or conveyor belt sushi places are tastier, at that level. This restaurant is not tasty at all and leaves a bad feeling. Completely non-smoking.

I visited the restaurant "Hebi no Ichi Main Store" with a rating of 3.70 on Tabelog's Top 5000 in 2023. The location is in front of Mitsukoshi department store. The exterior blends in with the street, being a roadside shop. Inside, there are private rooms, counter seats, and table seats. This long-established restaurant, founded in 1889, started as a street stall. It is a famous Edo-style sushi restaurant named by a literary figure and has been loved by many. Their signature conger eel is very famous. The rice is cooked in a direct fire feather pot and seasoned with vinegar and salt only. The lunch course includes an appetizer platter, 10 pieces of nigiri sushi, rolled sushi, tamagoyaki, and miso soup. The lunch course is consistently delicious and the restaurant is not too crowded on weekdays, allowing for a leisurely dining experience. The conger eel and tamagoyaki are truly the specialties of this long-established restaurant. It is a great place to dine.

I went for lunch. I've been trying sushi at various restaurants lately, but the sushi here is the best. The vinegar rice without sugar and the pickled ginger with only vinegar are very addictive. The sushi looks beautiful and tastes delicious, with the rice gently falling apart in your mouth. Highly recommended restaurant. I will definitely go back.

I visited this restaurant for the first time upon the invitation of an acquaintance. It is a long-established restaurant with a history of over a hundred years, and the food was truly delicious. The meal started with pickles, which I found interesting, and when I asked, I learned that it has been a tradition since the restaurant's founding. I enjoyed the pickles as a palate cleanser between dishes. I usually don't like Nara pickles, but the ones here were exceptional! The homemade fish cake and the accompanying salmon roe were also outstanding. The sushi was all delicious as well. However, as a woman, I found the rice portion a bit too much. I'm not a big fan of sake, but the people I dined with were impressed by the variety of sake available. They also praised the excellent choice of sake to complement the chef's selection of sushi. Despite consuming a considerable amount of alcohol, the bill was very reasonable. I rated the atmosphere 3.5 because I wished the restaurant was a bit quieter and more serene. They mentioned that they are preparing a separate room, so if a calm atmosphere is preferred, using that space might be a good option. I would definitely like to visit again.

I had always wanted to visit this place, so I decided to have lunch there. I was a bit worried about the bara chirashi, but I started with the classic nigiri sushi. I ordered the Tsuki set (8 pieces of sushi, tamago, and a roll). The nigiri sushi was all incredibly delicious, to the point of being impressed. I was concerned about the portion size, but the roll was large and after having miso soup, I was completely full. I also added a grilled anago to my order, and it was the most delicious anago I've ever had in my life!! The price is 2-3 times higher than what I usually pay for lunch at an affordable sushi restaurant, but the quality was so good that it made me want to come back again.

Despite being a sushi restaurant, there is a trend of restaurants and sushi shops that prioritize their own convenience, with simultaneous start broiler-raised type restaurants becoming popular. Do these customers not know how to enjoy picking and eating sushi as they like? Instead of truly delicious sushi, they flock to overpriced Michelin-starred sushi shops that I have been banned from.

Had a first lunch with an important customer at Tatsu no Ichi in front of Mitsukoshi. After much consideration, we decided to visit this restaurant. The name itself is impactful, and the exterior and atmosphere were welcoming. The service was polite and the sushi was all consistently good! In one word: Excellent. The customer I brought was also very satisfied. Grateful.

I made a reservation after calling ahead because it seems to be fully booked every day. I requested omakase sushi at the counter. I love the red vinegar shari without sugar here, and I am a big fan. The balance with the toppings is also excellent, making it hard to feel satisfied with sushi from other places. I will definitely visit again!

I visited this sushi restaurant for lunch on a weekday without a reservation. I ordered the "Edomae Sushi 13 pieces (8800 yen)" and was very satisfied with the quality and freshness of the fish. The sushi pieces were large and had a good texture. The price was reasonable for the level of sushi I received. The restaurant is small with only 9 counter seats, but it seems possible to get a seat without a reservation if you come at the right time. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience and would recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious sushi at a reasonable price.

[2023.5.9] After about half a year since I was allowed to sit at the counter seat on November 30th last year, I was able to somehow make a reservation from 16:30 to 18:30, limited to the evening opening time. Even though I am not a regular customer who visits frequently, I am happy that the owner and the staff each treated me appropriately. The "omakase otsumami" featuring homemade fish cake was delicious. The sweet tamagoyaki was fluffy and delightful. The nigiri sushi, as mentioned in the title, including horse mackerel, flounder fin, and white squid, were incredibly tasty. The kanpamaki roll featured fresh summer cucumber cut into thin strips. The rice, sourced from a contracted farm specified by the owner, along with the perfect balance of red vinegar and (I'll mention it again) delicious sushi rice, was truly delicious. The tekka maki roll, with shiny red tuna rolled heavily, was also flawless in its deliciousness.

I visited the long-established sushi restaurant "Hebi no Ichi" near my company, accompanied by my boss for lunch. I tried the "Tokujou Donburi," limited to 10 servings on weekdays. Unfortunately, the "Chawanmushi" I ordered was forgotten and I couldn't try it, which was a shame. However, the Tokujou Donburi was truly top-notch as the name suggests! I would like to come back to try the non-limited nigiri and also get my revenge on the missed Chawanmushi (laughs). Thank you for the delicious meal!

After a long time, my colleague and I went out for sushi. Usually, we reserve seats at the counter, but this time it was packed with regular customers, so we ended up in a semi-private room. We decided to split the bill and order whatever sushi and drinks we wanted. We started with a seafood appetizer of sea grapes, seaweed, and ponzu sauce, which I enjoyed because I like the texture of sea grapes. We then ordered a sashimi platter each, with various types of fish like squid, herring roe, mackerel, scallop, bonito, and more. I particularly liked the squid and bonito with grated new onion. We also ordered tuna, medium fatty tuna, flounder marinated in kelp, young sea bream, amberjack, cherry salmon, and sea urchin. We drank bottled beer, sake, and sparkling wine as we chatted. We also had cucumber rolls, spicy tuna rolls, and finished with tamagoyaki. The sushi rice, pickled ginger, and tamagoyaki were all delicious. Despite the noisy regular customers, we enjoyed our meal and paid only 14,480 yen for my share of the bill. It was a great dining experience.

The deliciousness that makes you want to repeat it over and over again ☆ The toppings are large and very delicious, and the red vinegar rice is addictive. The scallops and shrimp are so big that you don't see them often, and I was very satisfied! The shrimp is my favorite and it was so delicious that I indulged in 2 pieces..♪ The anago, which can be called a specialty, melts in your mouth and is fluffy, with excellent compatibility with the vinegar rice, it's the best! The deliciousness that makes you want to eat it at least once a month, so I will definitely repeat it soon.

Exploring traditional shops is also enjoyable. This place in Nihonbashi has a long history but a new store. The sushi had a slightly strong vinegar flavor. I ordered an eight-piece sushi set and then added my favorites like small skin, spring onions, horse mackerel, grilled squid, and marinated salmon roe. The vinegar flavor was prominent in the small skin, which may not be to everyone's liking, but I enjoyed adding my favorite toppings.
