I bought it at a Hokkaido souvenir shop (*^_^*) It's a bit expensive, isn't it (・・;)? I was also tempted by the potato cheese, but I chose the Tobu Limited Pan Asparagus Pan (^o^)v It has a lot of asparagus in it (^ν^) The bread is quite big too (^q^) The corn bread is also popular, so (^_^) I want to buy it next time (・∀・)

I went to Tobu Ikebukuro for a bread festival event stall on a Sunday around 6:30 pm. I tried the Potato Cheese for 350 yen. It's an English muffin-sized bread with a chewy texture, filled with rich cream cheese and diced bacon. It has a burnt cheese topping on the surface. The bread apparently has mashed potatoes in it. It's best to microwave it a bit and then reheat it to make it hot and delicious inside. The cheese is rich and satisfying, with a gooey texture. Personally, I'm not a fan of uncooked bacon, but the combination of the burnt cheese on the crust adds a nice smoky flavor, making it a well-crafted dish. I would like to try the corn bread next time. It's a shame that some items were sold out, like the corn choux cream. The store is called Il Mattoncino Alru, but I wonder if the bread section is Bake Alru?

At Tobu Department Store in Ikebukuro, there was a "Hokkaido Product Fair" going on, and the bakery "Baked Alru" had a booth set up. It can get really crowded on weekends, and I think a lot of people enjoy it, but I quite like the "Hokkaido Product Fair" and tend to stop by when I have some free time. Even though the prices are a bit high, I know that in my head, it's hard to resist. It's a kind of magic, isn't it? According to other reviews I've seen, "Baked Alru" mainly sells their bread and cakes at events like this and through online sales. This time, I decided to buy a few items because they looked delicious. I brought them home and decided to try the curry bread first. It looked appetizing with cheese and breadcrumbs on top. So, I took a bite. The bread was soft, and the inside had a generous amount of authentic curry with meat and potatoes. The curry wasn't too spicy and was enjoyable. It was a curry bread with a satisfying amount of filling. I finished it in no time. It was delicious. I would definitely buy it again if I come across it. Thank you for the meal. P.S. The corn bread I tried later was also delicious with plenty of corn and a creamy soup-like cream.

Wow, I bought this with the thought that it might be a dough with a lot of butter kneaded into it. But when I cut into it, I was surprised to find that there was very little sponge cake. Quite luxurious. Is this white chocolate, I wonder? I jokingly took a bite, thinking it might be. Ugh... this is butter. More like buttercream? It's butter. It has some sweetness to it and falls into the category of sweets, but it's just so "buttery" that I was really surprised. (I didn't do enough research) It's delicious, but it's too rich to eat on its own, so I toasted some bread at home and ate it with the cream. Delicious. For those who love butter, it must be irresistible. For normal people, in Kumamoto dialect, it's like saying "what's this?" However, I couldn't finish it, so I tried it again 3-4 days later and thought, "Oh? It's... delicious." Somehow... I felt more of a condensed cream sensation than a buttery one. Maybe my tongue and brain got used to it? (laughs)

I purchased "Hokkaido White Milk Cannele" (2 pieces) at a Hokkaido local product event. The cannele, a familiar treat, has a slightly crispy surface and a fragrant aroma. In contrast, the inside is soft, which I enjoy. I was curious about how this one would taste. While it looks similar to a regular cannele, it has a unique twist. It is made with Hokkaido butter and milk, with powdered sugar coating the smooth surface. When I cut it with a knife, the inside was dense, requiring some effort. It has a slightly sweet taste reminiscent of condensed milk. I wish there was more of a natural dairy flavor and a different texture inside. Overall, it was a unique treat.

I don't know when my wife bought this cream puff, but even though I haven't been to Hokkaido, I'll pretend I went to Ebetsu City in Hokkaido and enjoy this delicious cream puff from a department store near Nagoya.

Hokkaido Sweets Series (self-proclaimed)
This time, I tried a "Cookie Choux" for the first time, which I had never heard of before. When you think of cookies, you might imagine something hard, but the dough of this Cookie Choux is surprisingly soft. However, it still has a nice crispy aroma. The cream inside goes really well with the dough, and when you bite into it, the cream almost spills out, giving you a sense of superiority.

When it gets hot, the symptoms worsen, it is a designated rare disease by the government. Unfortunately, there is no medicine that suits my rare disease yet. I was hospitalized for rare disease treatment in September last year, and in January, April to May, and again in September, October, and November this year. Your supportive comments were a source of energy for me during my hospitalization. I sincerely appreciate it. I was discharged for the fifth time this year, 12 days ago. During my hospitalization, I could only upload pre-written reviews, but I will reply to comments as soon as possible after discharge. I will try to give likes even during hospitalization. In the future, I plan to mainly upload past reviews that have not been reviewed yet. New visits will be limited depending on my health condition. "Baked Alru" is a confectionery shop in Ebetsu City, next to Sapporo. Currently, they specialize in online and event sales as they no longer have a retail store. In 2008, they opened a store called "Baked Alru" at Daiei Sapporo Asahikawa store (now Aeon Sapporo Asahikawa store). In 2010, they also opened a store called "Sugar Bar with Fresh Karinto" at Aeon Sapporo Kuwon store. In a conversation with the staff at "Sugar Bar," I mentioned that their shop is popular on Tabelog (a gourmet site). The staff replied that they are not familiar with the internet as they rely on traditional media for publicity. "Sugar Bar" closed down the following year. I happened to come across a confectionery fair featuring Hokkaido sweets at a supermarket near my home. There, they were selling sweets from "Baked Alru." Feeling nostalgic, I decided to buy some. The "Five Berry Luxury Cheesecake" is a colorful and impactful dessert. It combines the sweetness and sourness of five berries (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, red currant, and strawberry) with a cheesecake base. It pairs well with coffee or tea. I look forward to using it again at the supermarket's confectionery fair. Delicious, thank you for the treat.

At the Hokkaido exhibition held at Mitsukoshi department store, my daughter bought the following items for me: Milk Maritozzo for 410 yen, Cornbread for 324 yen each x 2, and Potato Cheese for 351 yen each x 2. She remembered that I was interested in Maritozzo, so she bought one just for me. We had the Maritozzo after dinner. When we opened the box, a very large Maritozzo came out. The generous whipped cream was very light. The plain cream was not too sweet, with a natural sweetness like rich milk. I understood why it was named Milk. Additionally, a sweet cream was used somewhere in the cream, and when it occasionally came out, it was surprising. The brioche base contained orange peel. It appeared occasionally while eating and added a slight fragrance. Overall, it was a very subtle flavored Maritozzo. The next morning, we cut the Cornbread and Potato Cheese to share with my wife for breakfast. The cornbread was full of sweet and delicious corn. When it comes to Hokkaido's cornbread, I remember the Biei selection, but this was also delicious cornbread. The Potato Cheese had a strong cheese flavor with fluffy potatoes and thick-cut bacon, which was a delicious combination. Thank you for the meal.

Arle's Maritozzo, Hokkaido apple baked in a kiln, Apple Pie, and Cookies Choux purchased at the "Autumn Hokkaido Fair" at Tobu Ikebukuro. Maritozzo is trendy but this one was just "bread and cream combined" and not that great. I really want to try the truly delicious one. The Cookies Choux, despite not being very crispy for a cookie, had a rich and delicious cream filling. Much better than Maritozzo. The Apple Pie was also moist and delicious. Highly recommended.

Luxurious rare cheesecake made with fully ripened seedless grapes and plenty of blueberries that can be eaten as is. The smooth rare cheesecake is made with natural cheese and Hokkaido fresh cream, topped with grapes and blueberries, and layered with fluffy sponge cake at the bottom. The grapes are flavorful and the blueberries have a refreshing sweet and sour taste. The rare cheesecake has a gentle and moist texture with a mild sweetness, making it easy to eat!

At the "Spring Hokkaido Product Exhibition" held at Meitetsu Emza in Kanazawa City, this store was also participating. There were various breads with different ingredients lined up, but this time I purchased only the "Spilling Corn Bread Butter Corn" for 324 yen, which looked delicious in the insert flyer. When I got home and ate it, I split it into two and the corn really spilled out. The taste was really delicious with the flavor of the corn, but there was hardly any butter flavor. Personally, I think it would be even more delicious if the butter flavor increased a little more.

I visited Daimaru Kyoto store for another errand and happened to stop by the Hokkaido Fair. The Hokkaido Fair is amazing! I ended up buying various things that caught my eye. One of them was the "Corn Overflowing Bread" that I saw in a photo. The bread was filled with corn overflowing from it. I was a bit skeptical because sometimes the actual product can be different from the photo, but I decided to give it a try. The Corn Overflowing Bread turned out to be exactly like the photo with lots of buttery corn inside. It was slightly sweet and soft, and the combination of butter, saltiness, and the sweetness of the corn was perfect! I also bought another soft white bread with sweet red bean paste inside. The Corn Overflowing Bread was more filling than it looked, and it was delicious.

I tried the "Furano Melon Pan Choux" that was being sold at a nearby supermarket. It is a large cream puff filled with plenty of cream inside. The choux pastry has a firm texture and is nicely baked.

Due to the impact of the novel coronavirus, Hokkaido food fairs across the country have been canceled, leading to excess inventory. As a result, they are holding temporary sales at their old store with special prices! They are offering popular "Sakumochi Choux" as well as frozen sweets, soft serve ice cream, and bread for sale.
~Cornbread Series~
Corn Bread: The name says it all. When you cut it in half, it's full of corn. The butter isn't too heavy, making it easy to eat.
~Cornbread Series~
Crab Cream Corn: The amount of corn is halved, but it's packed with cream. The crab flavor is so-so.
~Anpan~
Pumpkin: A baked bun filled with pumpkin and sweet red bean paste. Tasty.
High Cacao Chocolate: It's not too bitter, not quite like dark chocolate. The dough has chocolate chips and walnuts. The slight bitterness of the walnut skins is nice.
Cream Puff: Wow! It's big and full of cream. The crunchy bits here and there are a nice touch.

Corn is delicious, but the bread is also tasty. It may sound biased, but as a bread lover, I prefer bread over corn. Toasting it in a toaster makes it chewy and enhances its sweetness.
