In 2022! This is where I had my last sushi meal of the year. I made a reservation in advance for my visit. The restaurant opened at 5pm, and there was no curtain hanging at the entrance. It seemed that they were fully booked for the day, so they were operating without displaying the curtain. I was seated at the counter, surrounded by mostly regular customers. I toasted with a bottle of Kirin Lager beer. The master, who seemed a bit gruff, asked what I wanted. Since it was my first time, I wasn't sure, but I asked if they could make a sashimi assortment, and he nodded in agreement even though it wasn't on the menu. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was dimly lit and had a calming and soothing feel. The sashimi assortment was served on a large plate, consisting of marinated mackerel, octopus, sea bream, and whelk. The marinated mackerel was incredibly delicious, with rich flavors. The sea bream had a firm texture and a sweet taste. The octopus was also flavorful and rich. I ordered the recommended sushi set for 6600 yen, which included squid, tuna (medium fatty tuna, lean tuna), ark shell, surf clam, shrimp, yellowtail, sardine, boiled clam, clam, conger eel, and rolled sushi (3 pieces). First, the rice! The rice was firm with well-defined grains and had a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. The squid had a nice chewy texture that I love. The tuna was the best I've had in 2022! The surf clam was so tender and flavorful. The shrimp had a firm texture with a hint of rawness and an incredible sweetness. This was also the best I've had in 2022! The sardine melted in my mouth! It was amazing! And the boiled clam, which is one of my favorites! It was so tender and flavorful, with an exquisite taste! The conger eel was also excellent. This traditional sushi restaurant that has been around for over 100 years exceeded my expectations with its incredible flavors! I think this place is a renowned establishment.

[Access] 200m walk from Asakusa Station [Interior] The interior of the restaurant has a dimly lit atmosphere. I visited during a weekday afternoon and noticed that many people were drinking alone. There are counter seats and table seats, totaling 36 seats. [Order] Upper sushi set for 3600 yen, including squid, red tuna, flatfish, sardine, simmered squid, simmered greenling, conger eel, and egg. Additional order of small skin. This sushi restaurant exudes a traditional vibe from the exterior! It may take some courage for first-time visitors to enter. The interior is dimly lit, giving off a nostalgic Showa era atmosphere! The chef is quiet and reserved, but his skills are top-notch!! The rice is on the firmer side, which I personally enjoy. All the toppings are delicious, and the simmered squid claws were particularly tasty. If you're looking for sushi lunch in Asakusa, I highly recommend this place.

I went to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Sunday. It was fully booked, so I recommend making a reservation in advance. Each piece of sushi had thick slices of fish, and I savored the delicious flavors. I enjoyed trying sushi with textures I had never experienced before, and it made me feel very happy. I highly recommend it for a special day.

Established in 1903. On this day, a 60th-anniversary commemorative performance of the Tokyo Entertainer Association was held at Asakusa Toyo-kan. I received a message that my good friend Kamikanda Hakuyama-san, a paper-cutting performer, would be performing, so I decided to attend. However, the main guest was Kamikanda Hakuyama-san. I couldn't miss this opportunity. At lunchtime, I called the restaurant but no one answered. So, I went to Tsunetosushi. After having lunch there, I still had plenty of time before the performance, so I explored the area and saw that Kinbun Sushi had its curtain up. "Oh, they're open," I thought, and ended up going to the sushi restaurant as well. (laughs) It seems that our restaurant doesn't answer the phone easily. Kinbun Sushi, which has been in business for over 100 years. The curtain with "司寿文紀" written from right to left is very much like that of an old-established store! Of course, the traditional Japanese building has a lot of history. It is quite rare for a sushi restaurant of this caliber to have a counter in a U-shape, with 5-6 tables in the back. The sepia-colored lighting illuminates the interior. The lights are hanging, but each one is tilted, giving the impression that they might fall at any moment. ◆Jouzushi (3,600 yen including tax) White cuttlefish, sea bass, red meat, mackerel, flat shellfish, octopus, conger eel, tekkamaki. The rice is quite firm. The vinegar-based conger eel has a taste that everyone will enjoy. Basically, it's cooked. The octopus and eel are very rich in flavor. The tekkamaki is a bit roughly made! (≧∀≦) ◆Ebisu Beer (800 yen including tax) By the way, there is a gas stove installed near the wall inside the counter, without a duct. The conger eel is grilled there. However, in the wooden building with a lot of history, a thought crossed my mind, "Is it safe to use fire there?"

Today we visited "Kibun Sushi" in Asakusa for our town sushi tour with gourmet and fishing friends. We enjoyed the nostalgic Showa atmosphere and delicious sushi. Thank you for the meal. We are looking for friends for quick lunches, cafes, dinners in the Ebisu area, as well as ramen and fishing friends. (laughs)

I stopped by near the Kaminarimon gate because I was hungry. I like the unique firmness of the shari at this local sushi place. The balance between the rice and the toppings is just right. I saw some older men drinking sake during the day and ordering sushi, and I felt a bit embarrassed for coming here alone just to eat quickly. But I didn't have much time, so I tried a bit of everything. I particularly liked the saltiness of the konoshiro and the deliciousness of the yellowtail and conger eel.

All of the dishes were delicious, especially the gizzard shad, sea urchin, simmered squid, and tiger prawns. However, I was bothered by the dirty sushi case. Also, entering a dimly lit restaurant without a greeting feels a bit disappointing.

Today, I tried the omakase (chef's choice) at Kibun Sushi for 7700 yen. I was able to make a reservation by phone the day before starting from 12 o'clock. The sushi was served in the following order: akami (lean tuna), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), karei (flounder), sumika (squid), akagai (ark shell), aji (horse mackerel), simmered squid, shrimp, kobashira (small scallops), simmered clams, sea urchin, anago (sea eel), and sabi maki. They fulfilled my request to include simmered dishes and sabi maki. The shrimp was slightly warm and perfectly boiled, showcasing the traditional style of sushi. The simmered dishes, including simmered squid, clams, sea eel, and shrimp, were all delicious. The sabi maki had both grated and sliced wasabi, adding a strong kick. Kibun Sushi never disappoints.

Asakusa, a shop located very close to Senso-ji Temple. It had a traditional atmosphere and being right in the heart of Asakusa, I was nervous about it being crowded, but surprisingly, it was not. I hesitantly entered the slightly dim interior and ordered the chef's choice sushi. Despite it not being busy, when the sushi was served, I immediately realized my worries were unfounded. It was delicious. The rice was quite firm, but it combined perfectly with the toppings, creating an exquisite flavor. I wish I had known about this place sooner. I brought my family and everyone was satisfied. Every piece of sushi was delicious, from the ark shell to the squid, fatty tuna, and clam. The quality at this price in Tokyo is amazing. A truly delicious restaurant. I will definitely be coming back, maybe in a different season. The old-fashioned register inside and the nostalgic Asakusa atmosphere gave the impression of a place where regulars sit at the counter and enjoy their usual dishes. The omakase sushi was 7700 yen, but even the cheaper sushi at 3600 yen would surely be satisfying. I look forward to visiting again in the fall. Thank you for the meal.

A friend's son from America came alone, so my child and I went to Kibun Sushi in Asakusa at night with the three of us. The 20-year-old boys seemed very satisfied with the dignified atmosphere of Kibun Sushi. We had an omakase course with 11 pieces of sushi, grilled fish, miso soup, and additional dishes like clam and tamago, totaling 15 pieces. The sushi is Edo-style with large toppings, very satisfying! The clams were huge! Impressive. And delicious! We were very satisfied with the meal at 10,000 yen per person.

In Asakusa, there is a historic Edo-style sushi restaurant. It has a traditional appearance. Alongside "Bentenzan Miyake Kojizushi," it is a long-established sushi restaurant in Asakusa. The old-fashioned interior exudes the atmosphere of a long-standing establishment, making you feel uplifted. At the counter, you can enjoy sake and sushi from noon. You can experience the daily life of Edo right in front of you. Recommended sushi: start with two pieces, akami (lean tuna) and chutoro (medium fatty tuna). The rice is extremely firm and blends well with the fish. The squid is very thick and has a strong chewy texture. The marinated flounder has a bouncy texture with a sweet flavor. The ark shell has a high fragrance and a strong sweetness. The small fin fish and horse mackerel: the small fin fish has a moist texture with a sharp acidity. The horse mackerel has plenty of fat. The sea urchin has a refreshing sweetness. The boiled shrimp is moist and warm, surprisingly rare for a long-established restaurant. The boiled clams and eel: the boiled clams have a good chewy texture with a rich and slightly bitter taste. The eel melts in your mouth. Ikura (salmon roe) roll. I also ordered the simmered squid as an extra. The simmered squid has a chewy texture with a deep flavor. Thank you for the feast.

I am in Asakusa, Tokyo. This time, I am enjoying visiting traditional restaurants. I took the Joban Line from Tsuchiura to Kitasenju, and then the Tsukuba Express to Asakusa. It only takes about an hour to get there. This restaurant was established in 1903. They are known for preserving the traditional Edo-style sushi, using no sugar in the rice and offering rich, Edo-style sushi with unique toppings. I had always wanted to visit this place. It was a bit difficult to get through on the phone, so I didn't make a reservation. There was no line outside the restaurant. Luckily, my husband and I were able to sit at the counter without a reservation. The building was built in 1948 and had a nostalgic atmosphere inside. The owner was quietly working, and the outside noise seemed like a distant memory, making me a bit nervous. I had a Kirin Lager for 750 yen and the "Jou Sushi" set for 3600 yen, which included various types of fish and sushi rolls. The toppings were large, and the slightly firm rice had a unique taste. The crispy ginger had a spicy kick, and the rich, thick topping had a deep flavor. I felt the tradition of Edo-style sushi. I also tried the "Suigei Special Junmai" for 1000 yen. This restaurant is truly a sacred place for sushi lovers, where you can experience the depth of the sushi world. Sushi is really something special.

Established in 1903 (Meiji 36), the renowned sushi restaurant "Kibun Sushi" in Asakusa, a popular tourist destination, is housed in a Showa-era building that exudes a certain aura. I visited with my wife at the opening time of 12 o'clock. The unique atmosphere inside the restaurant, with its seasoned counter, is truly one-of-a-kind. I started with a Kirin Lager (medium bottle) for 750 yen before ordering the recommended sushi platter for 7700 yen each. The sumiika had a firm texture that melted in the mouth, making it my favorite among squid varieties. The kochi had a refreshing texture with a lingering umami flavor. The akami and seared toro were both firm yet aromatic, making me appreciate the deliciousness of tuna even more. I also enjoyed a glass of Tatenokawa sake for 1100 yen. The red clam was sweet with a hint of bitterness, while the kobashira had a moist texture with a satisfying chewiness. The sweet shrimp was rich in sweetness, and the simmered abalone was intensely flavorful with a hint of bitterness. The uni, horse mackerel, and shako were all delightful, each showcasing unique flavors. The anago was generously topped, offering a richness that is unmatched elsewhere. The tekka maki was a delightful end to the meal. Overall, I had a wonderful experience enjoying the flavors and ambiance of this unique and historic sushi restaurant. It truly felt like a sacred place for sushi lovers, and I felt like I had grown a little more mature during this dining experience.

Arrived at the store front on Sunday at 11:45. There was no one in line, no signboard out, and I was worried if I was in the right place... Gradually, people started lining up, and at 12 o'clock, the store opened, and I went inside. I didn't have a reservation, but everyone else did. Luckily, I was able to get in, but the customers who came after were turned away, so I recommend making a reservation if you have a set date and time. The atmosphere inside the store was very nice, with a Edo period feel. It really felt like Asakusa. I ordered the 7-piece sushi set for 3500 yen. The sushi, carefully made by the owner, was exceptional. The ingredients were good and seasoned, so only a little soy sauce was needed. It was a wonderful restaurant where you could enjoy delicious sushi and a relaxing atmosphere for 3500 yen.

[April 2023] A friend and reviewer from Osaka came to Tokyo, so I decided to show them around the Asakusa area. We also planned to have lunch in Asakusa. I had asked for their preferences beforehand, but they insisted on trying something typically Asakusa-style. Asakusa is known for sukiyaki, soba, tempura, eel, Russian cuisine, and the most recommended, Edomae sushi! I took them to my favorite spot, Kibun Sushi. Since it's a popular place, we made a reservation in advance. However, I couldn't get through on the phone when trying to make the reservation, which made me worry if the place had closed down. But it was just needless worry. We arrived a little early before the lunch opening time, and there were already a few people waiting outside. The restaurant, although decently spacious, seemed to have only one chef, so the seating was quite relaxed with ample space between tables. Although I would have indulged if I were alone, my guest was still recovering from an illness, so we decided to go easy on the food and drinks. We started with two bottles of Kirin Lager (750 yen each) and later switched to three glasses of Kami no Kawa (650 yen each). The menu included: - Assorted sushi (7 pieces) for 3,600 yen - Additional kobujime (price unknown) - Sumiika, tuna, flounder, scallop, sardine, small-boned gizzard shad, boiled squid, and tekka maki. We also added an extra kobujime. The size of the fish and rice was standard, with the fish slightly larger. The vinegared rice was just right, not overpowering. The sushi looked ordinary at first glance, but the harmony between the fish and rice was superb, creating a delightful unity in the mouth. The blending of the rice and fish, along with the perfect size, was exceptional. Every piece was delicious, with meticulous attention to detail. The boiled squid was particularly well-received by our guest from Osaka. It had a satisfying crunch and a sweet taste. This is what Edomae sushi is all about. Overall, this restaurant offers incredibly delicious sushi in a fantastic atmosphere. The chef works alone, so the pace is leisurely, but that adds to the charm. The nostalgic Asakusa ambiance and traditional Edomae craftsmanship make this place a gem in Asakusa. The bill for today came to 11,750 yen for two people. Considering the quality and quantity, this is a great deal. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Today, I went on a pre-tour of Asakusa with a friend and visited Kibun Sushi under the guise of a honeymoon trip. My friend made a reservation, but had a hard time getting through on the phone. We were worried that they might not be open. However, we managed to make a reservation for 12:00 when they opened and when we arrived, there were already several groups waiting. The head chef was the only one making sushi, so the restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere and they let us in with plenty of space, giving the impression that they were limiting the number of people entering. I recommend making a reservation before visiting. We wanted to enjoy the recommended sushi set of 11 kinds, but due to some circumstances, we decided to go with the seven-piece set and add more later. The seven-piece set included squid, red tuna, flounder, razor clam, sardine, small fish, simmered squid, rolled omelet, and gizzard shad (added later). The squid, red tuna, and flounder were all delicious and beautifully presented. The rice was firm and each grain was well-seasoned with vinegar. They were all good, but the most impressive was the simmered squid. The squid was well-cooked and the sweet sauce was incredibly tasty. The pickled ginger was also surprisingly spicy and tangy, which I really enjoyed. The chef was working alone, so the pace of serving was slow, which was perfect for me as a sake drinker. The atmosphere and food at Kibun Sushi, a long-established sushi restaurant in Asakusa, were delightful. I had a great time and would recommend it, especially if there is no line to wait in. Thank you for the wonderful meal! ♥(・∀・)♥

The appearance of the restaurant makes it hard to tell if it's open or not. However, I saw a curtain hanging and lights on inside, so I decided to go in. The interior had a charming historical atmosphere, it was a really nice space. It's an old sushi restaurant. The owner is not very friendly, and you can tell they treat regulars differently from first-time customers. The sushi was all delicious. The rice might be a matter of personal preference - it was firm with a core. Many reviews mention the good balance between the firm rice and the toppings, but personally, I found it too hard. When I asked for a grilled or simmered dish, they offered a high-quality fish, clearly showing they knew their stuff. Despite feeling a bit looked down upon, the food was truly delicious. It's worth trying out this traditional Edo-style sushi restaurant.

I visited the long-established Edo-style sushi restaurant, Kibun Sushi in Asakusa. I saw it on YouTube and wanted to come. I made a reservation to coincide with the opening time at 5:00 PM. It was a Monday and at first, I was the only one there. Later, a few more customers started to arrive. By the time I left, just before 6:00 PM, there were four people, including two foreigners. I heard that more customers start coming in around 6:30 PM. I ordered the recommended sushi set for 7700 yen. It consisted of 11 pieces. The rice was quite firm, almost like eating sake lees. The seasoning was light, allowing the flavors of the toppings to shine. I prefer slightly softer rice, but I enjoyed the unique texture. There were two pieces of tuna, one lean and one medium fatty. The simmered clams and squid rice were outstanding. The unique flavors were delicious. I usually only eat conveyor belt sushi or packaged sushi, and I've only had high-end sushi a few times, like under 20,000 yen in Nagoya. So, I may not have much experience, but I thought it was incredibly delicious.

The interior of the restaurant exudes a sense of history. I entered as soon as it opened, but it quickly filled up with customers. It was the most delicious sushi I've had recently. If I go to Asakusa again, I definitely want to stop by this restaurant! Thank you for the meal.

Today, I visited the famous restaurant "Kibun Sushi" in Asakusa. Despite the crowded streets due to the coronavirus, I was able to enter without waiting in line. The restaurant was spacious with only two other customers. I ordered the cheapest sushi set (7 pieces + norimaki) for 3,600 yen. The pickled ginger was quite spicy. The selection included dried squid, hokke fish, medium fatty tuna, bonito, surf clam, scallop, simmered squid, and tekka maki. Every piece was carefully crafted and well worth the price. The sushi here is different from what you typically find at other sushi restaurants. It's not bluefin tuna but medium fatty tuna, and there are unique items like hokke fish and simmered squid. Everything was delicious.

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. It feels like a world away from the hustle and bustle outside. The owner's demeanor is just right - not too friendly, not too distant. The recommended sushi set of 11 types for 7700 yen was excellent. The squid ink, halibut, red clam, fatty tuna, sardine, shrimp, sea urchin, simmered clams, surf clam, conger eel, and dried gourd roll were all delicious. I added extra halibut and fatty tuna. The bottled beer and hot sake we had were also great. The slightly firm shari rice gradually grew on me, and the nori seaweed had a fantastic aroma and texture. The seared surf clam was incredibly flavorful, and the simmered clams and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Everything was delicious - I'm glad I came here. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
