I went on a business trip to Asahikawa. My business associate recommended a delicious game meat restaurant called "5.7 Koji Flare" run by Game Bar Yamagami. The interior of the restaurant is stylish and chic. The appetizer was fried potatoes, seasoned perfectly. My business associate ordered "Kanjan Kejan". I asked what it was and found out it's snow crab marinated in garlic soy sauce and chili. It was delicious, especially when dipped in egg. Next, we had venison and broccoli ajillo. The dish was tasty, but the venison tasted similar to chicken gizzards, lacking in flavor. The highlight was the "Famous Ezo Deer Rare Cutlet". It was incredibly delicious, and I was surprised by how tasty deer meat can be. I enjoyed it with red wine. There was no gamey taste, indicating good preparation. Lastly, we had "Bear Hot Pot". The bear meat was tender and light, with a delicious broth and sesame. We ended the meal with a rice porridge with cheese, which was the perfect finish. The standout dish was definitely the "Famous Ezo Deer Rare Cutlet". It's a must-try!

I'm not a fan of game meat... especially deer, I don't really enjoy eating it (^-^; But, I'm curious about this new restaurant (laughs) so I'll stop by for a quick visit as a second stop. - House wine 500 yen I'll have the red wine~ - Appetizer 300 yen Wild boar char siu. The meat is tender and the flavor is rich, without any gamey taste. Okay! I was able to taste game meat with this... - Oyster oil simmered dish (normally) 400 yen Normally it comes with 4 pieces, but my friend doesn't like oysters so when I asked if they could make a half portion, they kindly agreed (^-^; The female staff didn't make a single unpleasant face and immediately confirmed with the owner. I like making this dish occasionally when I can get oysters cheaply. The rich flavor from the oil gives it a concentrated umami ♡ Maybe I should have just ordered one portion after all? (laughs) I'm not a fan of deer, but I like duck so maybe next time I'll try the game meat hot pot?

I like game meat and was curious about this place. Atmosphere: The restaurant is small, with a few counter and table seats where all customers can be seen. It was bustling with regulars and young men and women. Food: The menu offers a variety of dishes mainly featuring wild boar and deer meat. There is no gamey taste at all. The overall seasoning is slightly strong, but it goes well with alcohol. Overall: Despite the lack of gamey taste, the food allows you to enjoy the meat and the alcohol is delicious.

Opened just last November 17th in Asahikawa, a bar that serves rare "game meat dishes". The restaurant is located in the popular area of "5-7 Koji Furariito", where many popular shops gather. The interior of the restaurant, with its warmth and stylish wooden decor, exudes a cozy atmosphere. The friendly owner and staff welcomed us warmly. We started with a glass of "house wine" (500 yen, excluding tax) and ordered a side dish of "fries" (300 yen). Looking at the menu, there were many dishes we wanted to try, but we started with the "Ezo deer Tataki" (800 yen). The dish came with garlic salt, ponzu sauce, and wasabi as condiments. The meat was tender, juicy, and very easy to eat, without any gamey taste. It paired perfectly with the garlic salt. We asked the owner for a wine that would go well with game meat, and we ended up ordering the "Oriyamendi" (glass 1000 yen). Next, we tried the popular dish "YAMAGAMI Uni-Ku" (800 yen), which topped Ezo deer meat with sea urchin and salmon roe. Served in a black bowl with nori, the dish was luxurious and delicious. The combination of sea urchin, salmon roe, and Ezo deer meat was irresistible. Intrigued by the wild boar dishes, we ordered the "Ultimate Boar Sausage" (800 yen). The sausage had a rich flavor, and when sprinkled with Tahini spice, it brought out a hint of acidity, making it even more delicious. We also tried the "Ezo deer and broccoli Ajillo" (700 yen), which had a perfect combination of Ezo deer and broccoli. The deer's flavor infused into the oil, making it perfect to dip bread in. The owner's precise explanations of the dishes made us feel at ease and assured us of the delicious game meat dishes served here.

A truly exquisite game dish; highly recommended. Game dishes are rare in Asahikawa, but this one is incredibly delicious. Who knew game meat could taste this good! It's low in calories and the seasoning is superb. It's understandable why it's becoming popular in the current economic situation in Asahikawa. I recommend making a reservation.
