The cake shop typically offers around 10 types of cakes, but they also sell entremets and galette des rois, so the variety of fresh sweets isn't necessarily limited. Excluding Hiroo, this place is quite unique. --- Purchased Items (incl. tax) --- - Millefeuille Éritage (994 yen) ☆×4.2 Composition: Chocolate puff pastry + Coconut cream + Passion fruit & Mango jelly The chocolate puff pastry has a clear taste and a crispy texture. The cream, my favorite coconut cream from this shop, has a light melt-in-your-mouth feel with a rich flavor and aroma that I adore. It's lighter than usual. Pairing it with passion fruit and mango creates a refreshing yet flavorful combination that I love. - Charlotte au Poire Caramel (864 yen) ☆×3.6 Composition: Charlotte pastry + Caramel cream + Pear jelly mousse The Charlotte pastry is soft and fluffy. The caramel cream on top has a moderate viscosity and a strong but not overpowering flavor, which balances well with the other components despite the cake's large size. The pear jelly and pear mousse are light in contrast to the caramel, though their flavors are slightly subdued, they just about harmonize. - Other Millefeuille Vanille (994 yen) ☆×4.0 --- Purchased Items (incl. tax) --- As always, the seasonal millefeuille is delicious and satisfying. Although it's outside my usual area, I should be able to revisit. Considering taste and service, the options for cake in Ginza are very limited, so I'll definitely come back again. Overall rating: 4.0 → 4.1 (+0.1)

One word: Amazing. I've been wanting to try it for so long, but it's always too popular to buy, and the timing never worked out. Finally, after several attempts, I finally got to try it! And they even had a limited-time fig flavor! Of course, I got both. Before coming here this day, I couldn't buy the mille-feuille because the selling time didn't match, so I ended up buying all the other cakes in frustration... haha. Let me just post a photo. The first thing I tasted was the caramelized topping. It was so fragrant, rich, sweet, and delicious! It's sitting on a crispy pastry crust so perfectly. And the custard, it's the first time in my life I've tasted something so delicious! It's an incredibly rich vanilla flavor. Ah, I see. So this is the taste that was chosen as the best mille-feuille. Truly remarkable. The fig flavor also had the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, so it was delicious in its own right! The other cakes were all delicious in their own way too. They were tasty, but the mille-feuille here is just unbeatable. (Wait, if I switched to the chocolate one, wouldn't the photo be the same as usual? Is there no overall image of the mille-feuille? Something seems off, right? Those who thought that are already deep in the mire with me, haha. Because, you see, I put it in the fridge to eat later, but half of it was eaten by my family! It's too messy to show the cross-section.)

I enjoyed a perfect timing at the Frederick Cassel Ginza Mitsukoshi store in the basement 2nd floor of the 2023 Baimain-ten, where the popular mille-feuille is usually sold out. This time, just around noon, they had mille-feuille, seasonal limited edition mille-feuille with fig, and black fig tart lined up. I indulged in the mille-feuille for ¥920, the limited edition mille-feuille with fig for ¥1000, black fig tart for ¥920, and Mont Blanc for ¥900. The popular mille-feuille features Frederick Cassel's specialty Tahitian vanilla cream, which won the "Best Mille-feuille" award at the 2010 French Patisserie Union contest. It's made with a refined and rich cream, layered over three days to achieve a crispy pastry crust caramelized to perfection, both crunchy and flaky. The limited edition mille-feuille with fig has fig sandwiched in between. While the black fig tart is delicious on its own, they advised me that warming it in a toaster oven enhances its taste, and indeed, it was crispy and the sweetness of the black fig stood out even more. They kindly keep your order reserved after you've paid, which is very convenient for picking up after shopping. Thanks for the wonderful meal!

I purchased the Mont Blanc Joule cake around 18:30 on September 9, 2023. It cost 972 yen. The cake was quite popular and some varieties were sold out. Mont Blanc Joule is a French classic combining chestnut and blackcurrant flavors. The rich sweetness of chestnut, along with chantilly cream, meringue, and blackcurrant, creates a delightful layered taste. It's quite sweet, but the combination of flavors is exquisite.

Millefeuille Vanilla 994 yen, Mont Blanc Jewel 972 yen, Chou Vanilla 594 yen. - Crispy pie crust and flavorful cream. - Great harmony between the tanginess of cassis and the rich Mont Blanc. - Chou cream is my favorite this time. - "Vanilla" means vanilla in French. Chou cream is popular, and Millefeuille is often sold out, so it's lucky if they have it. Sweets TOKYO Top 100 Stores 2023. [Evaluation Criteria] - 4.5 and above: Impressed!!! I visited Frederick Cassel in Ginza Mitsukoshi, which I've been curious about for a while. They offer a variety of sweets, including pastries and baked goods. This time, I bought baked goods for souvenirs and for home. For souvenirs, I got the Boîte Gourmande for ¥4,536, and for home, I chose the Sablé Matcha for ¥864. The Sablé Matcha is moist, crispy, and has a rich matcha flavor. It's delicious! If I have the chance, I'll definitely go back to try other products!

Located in Ginza, Tokyo, Frédéric Cassel is a French patissier and chocolatier with a store in Ginza Mitsukoshi, Chuo-ku, Ginza 4-6-16, B1F. Since 2003, Frédéric Cassel has been the chairman of Relais Desserts, and as of 2022, he holds the honorary position of chairman. A specialty of his shop is the "Millefeuille Vanille," which has gained popularity, winning the title of "Best Millefeuille" in a contest in the Ile-de-France region. It features a cream made with the finest Tahitian vanilla. While the reviewer has only tried the millefeuille, as Cassel is also a chocolatier, the shop mainly offers opera-style cakes. Unfortunately, the sought-after choux cream was sold out, so the reviewer opted for the vibrant macarons instead. The "Seasonal Macaron Assortment of 5" includes flavors like Chocolate, Chocolate Raspberry, Chocolate Passion, Vanilla Tahiti, and Pistachio Macaron. Frédéric Cassel, a renowned figure in French pastry, began his career at Fauchon at the age of 15. He later opened his own patisserie in Fontainebleau in 1994 and became the chairman of Relais Desserts in 2003, eventually becoming its honorary chairman in 2022. In addition to the flagship store in Fontainebleau, France, there are branches in Berlin, Casablanca, Kyoto, and Tokyo.

I bought it at the food section of Ginza Mitsukoshi. It seems to be a famous shop for mille-feuille, but I chose a chocolate-based one that my family likes. Opera 750 yen A coffee scent that doesn't lose to the scent of cocoa. Eclair 600 yen It's a rich chocolate cream. It's like the opposite of the cozy corner, but I like both. The packaging is careful, and on the way back to our house from afar, the tape was firmly attached and didn't move at all!

Mille-feuille Vanilla for 994 yen and Chou Vanilla for 594 yen. Among the cakes I've had recently, the mille-feuille was the best! The pastry was crispy, with a caramelized surface that added a nice touch to the cream. The cream was rich and fragrant, with a strong, flavorful taste. The chou cream puff had a crunchy pastry rather than a fluffy one, and it also paired exceptionally well with the cream. Both cakes were worth trying and were truly delicious!

The elegant Charlotte aux Marrons was delightful. Heading up to the 9th floor for dining, the interior was elegant with jelly and the exterior had a fluffy texture, delicately crafted and incredibly delicious. Sweet treats are my favorite! Can't wait to try Millefeuille next time. Thanks for the delicious meal! ⭐

On a Sunday afternoon, I headed out with the expectation that they'd surely be sold out, but to my surprise, there were still plenty of mille-feuille available! Unexpected! However, there was a sign saying "Today's Choux à la Crème is sold out!" What's that? Did they always have that? When I asked the staff if it was a new item, they seemed unsure. They showed me a picture, and it looked like cream puffs with cookie dough. I'll aim for that next time! After carrying it around for 2 hours in the scorching heat and returning home, it was slightly less crispy, but that's because of the heat! Can't be helped. I'm just grateful it stayed delicious even in this heat! Truly delicious ❤︎

Visited for takeout on a weekday afternoon. On August 2023, requested reservation at the store, then came to pick it up after finishing other errands. - Millefeuille Vanilla @ ¥993: Lives up to the hype with its rich flavor! A true French sweet, sizable in portion and with a strong sweetness. - Kawano Nakajima White Peach Tart @ ¥810: By the time I got home to eat it, the peach had changed color. It was a limited-time sweet available in August.

After returning from Vomero-san's trip, I went to Ginza Mitsukoshi and wanted to buy a lot of things. I managed to go to Frederick Cassel-san without hesitation, around 1 p.m. on a weekday, without waiting. It was really the best on a weekday. 1. Millefeuille Vanilla (920 yen): Caramel and cream with crispy pastry. Absolutely delicious, though the price is high, it's worth it. However, it's quite difficult to eat. 2. Chou Vanille (550 yen): This got me! While the Millefeuille was impressive, I was blown away by this cream puff. The rich cream was incredibly delicious. I've been trying various cream puffs lately, but this is one I want to come back to. The price is about half of the Millefeuille, so it's more affordable. Thank you for the treat.

I revisited [the store] for gift shopping and ended up buying cookies and financiers for myself as well. You can tell the difference just from the fragrance of both. The cookies are so delicate that the word "untie" fits perfectly. It's the first time I've had such crumbly cookies. They're light and irresistible, so it's dangerous. It looks like baked goods from here will be my new obsession for a while. In the morning, the selection is good and there is no waiting time, so I recommend it!

I visited Frederic Cassel Ginza Mitsukoshi Store located in the depachika (basement floor) of Ginza Mitsukoshi. This place is famous for its mille-feuille. What I tried: - Mille-feuille: It lived up to its reputation with its crispy layers. The mille-feuille was indeed delicious! - Tangram: A crispy tangram with a rich chocolate flavor, offering a sophisticated taste that adults would enjoy. It was delicious too! I think it's perfect as a souvenir. I'll definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I went around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. There weren't many customers, as expected. I bought an opera (810 yen) and a lemon tart (756 yen). Despite their simple appearance, they were delicious with creamy texture. I'd like to try the mille-feuille next time. Thank you for the meal!

Located just a minute's walk from Ginza Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, "Frederic Cassel Ginza Mitsukoshi Store" is a patisserie that opened in 2010 (Heisei 22). It operates in a corner of the basement second floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi. I visited on the weekend and purchased a chocolate assortment and macarons. Here's what I bought: - Chocolate Assortment - 5 types of macarons - Pistachio - Chocolate Raspberry - Chocolate Passion - Vanilla Tahiti The chocolate assortment offers a variety of distinctive flavors, each blending rich cocoa aroma with its unique flavor, resulting in a deliciously rich taste. The macarons, though small and cute, are outstanding in flavor! While all of them were delicious and hard to choose between, personally, I preferred the chocolate the most. Both the chocolate and macarons would make fantastic gifts and are incredibly delicious. I'll definitely be visiting again. (Note: Photography is prohibited inside Ginza Mitsukoshi, so only sweets photos are available.)

I had been wanting to try Frederic Cassel's mille-feuille for a long time! It was often featured on TV, so I made sure to call ahead to reserve one. They mentioned several instructions over the phone, like how I couldn't pick it up before 1:00 PM or right at opening. When I arrived around 2:30, there were plenty of mille-feuilles displayed, but unfortunately, the choux cream, another popular item I had reserved, was already sold out! On the left: Chou Vanille for 550 yen (excluding tax), on the right: Mille-feuille Vanille for 920 yen (excluding tax). As I expected, the mille-feuille was quite challenging to eat and ended up messy (laughs). However, the taste was superb, and although one serving is usually satisfying, I would love to eat it again if given the chance. It's just pricey... it would be awesome if I could receive it as a souvenir (laughs). I thought the cream in the choux cream and the mille-feuille might be the same, but they were indeed different (laughs). The pastry was crispy, and it was delicious too.

I chose the Chocolat Assortment for 2,970 yen and the Bois de Biscuit for 4,320 yen. I tried the Chocolat Assortment, and it was delicious with the aroma of almonds and hazelnuts, along with a crispy texture. The Bois de Biscuit had two types of cookies – one with a slightly bitter dark chocolate and the other with milk chocolate. Both were incredibly tasty.

I visited Frederick Cassel's bakery craving delicious cake. "Tangram": layers of various chocolate routes stacked enticingly, offering a delightful texture when combined with the final cookie dough layer. "Opera": a traditional French pastry showcasing skillful craftsmanship, blending chocolate sweetness, coffee bitterness, and macaron accents. It was a truly enjoyable experience indulging in these delicious chocolate cakes. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
