I wanted to try a variety of dishes and visited this restaurant for the first time. I'm glad I called ahead because it was fully booked with us and reserved customers. They have a variety of dishes such as sashimi, tempura, gnocchi, etc. And all of them were surprisingly generous in portion size! I only ordered lotus root tempura, but it came as a generous assortment as a service. Haha, all the dishes were delicious with good portion sizes and cost performance was quite good! I definitely want to come back again! Thank you for the meal!

I made a reservation for 7:00 pm on a weekday and visited. I chose the 4500 yen course with all-you-can-drink option and paid in cash, so I received a 100 yen discount. There were other dishes besides the ones in the photos, but I forgot to take pictures. Everything I ate was delicious. However, since the owner was running the place alone, I think it would be tough without a reservation for a course menu.

It was a company year-end party. I had been interested in this place for a while and finally got to visit. I pre-ordered the chicken tataki and tuna sashimi. The owner seems to be running the place alone, so it's better to order in advance for a smooth experience. Both the tataki and tuna were delicious and satisfying. I also ordered a tempura assortment, which was crispy and good, but there were some ingredients I didn't like so I couldn't eat much. The food made me thirsty and the alcohol went down easily. I also ordered a set of three spicy snacks, and the green chili was so spicy that it made me drink more. I got drunk and didn't pay much attention to the menu. I'm sure there were other delicious items, but I mostly drank and ended up not eating much. It's a shame because it's a good place. I want to come back and properly enjoy the food next time. We only had these dishes and it cost 20,000 yen for three people. Maybe we drank too much or the prices are high. Also, the restaurant allows smoking, but it seems like you can't smoke when regular customers are around. Just a heads up.

At a company farewell party, I couldn't take photos of the sashimi and chicken tataki next to my boss, and the abalone ended up being a photo after it was divided...(^_^;) The chicken tataki and tempura were especially delicious! In total, there were 9 dishes including dishes like chicken hot pot. The course cost 3,980 yen and included all-you-can-drink draft beer (classic), which was quite good. We also went as a group, and it was a bit disappointing that the drinks didn't come out quickly, but the food was delicious and the cost performance was good. Thank you for the meal!

The value for money is incredibly good and the taste is great. The chef's skills are impressive, truly a master of the craft! The only downside is that there are few staff members, so the drinks can be slow to arrive. Despite this, I have found a new favorite spot to frequent.

I had always been curious about this place and was surprised when I entered because there was no counter! The atmosphere seems lively for parties, and I indulged in using a 6-person table all by myself. The Satsuma local chicken sashimi was surprisingly generous in portion, but it was surprisingly light and I was able to finish it alone. It had a rich flavor of chicken meat, and when paired with the special soy sauce provided, it had a different taste. The tuna sashimi was neither outstanding nor disappointing, just average. Personally, I have only encountered truly delicious tuna twice before. Although this place is not focused on seafood, I think it is good enough considering that. The atmosphere, food, and prices are all to my liking, making it the top choice for year-end parties.

Located a little south of Odori Park, on the second floor of a mixed-use building, this restaurant has a noticeable sign but may be a bit hard to find for those unfamiliar with Sapporo. We opted for the course meal this time, which was reasonably priced and generous in portion. The interior is small, so it's recommended to make a reservation before visiting.

I enjoyed a few selected types of sake at the "Northern Sake Festival" held in Kitahiroshima and returned to Sapporo. I got a great deal on sake at half price through the restaurant's email newsletter! However, I had to order food worth over 1,000 yen per person. The dishes I had included bean sprout namul, tofu, and simmered tuna. The sake I tried included Maruda Shuzo ??? (usually 550 yen), Dassai Junmai Daiginjo 23% trial (usually 600 yen), and Eikun Junmai Daiginjo Summer White Chrysanthemum (usually 680 yen). All of them were delicious, but I didn't take any photos of the sake bottles this time. The staff at the restaurant seemed a bit clumsy or cautious, as they would not take another order until the previous sake was served at the table. I also tried the Umezuisho (680 yen) made from shark cartilage, which was refreshing and delicious. The Satsuma Jidori Tataki (880 yen) was a must-try, different from the one I had in Asahikawa. It was a bit too spicy today, but the portion was generous. The tempura assortment (980 yen) included thinly sliced vegetables, such as pumpkin, sweet potato, eggplant, udo (rare for this season), carrot, lotus root, and shiitake mushrooms, all crispy and delicious. The Wasabi soy sauce pickles (380 yen) and Maku Lai (680 yen), a mix of sea squirt and sea urchin, were perfect with sake. As my companion wanted rice, we also had a chef's selection of three nigiri sushi (680 yen) before moving on to the next restaurant, where we will meet the beautiful landlady.

I visited the restaurant with a friend. It's a place I've been curious about for a long time, but the grandeur of the name made me hesitate to step inside. This time, I mustered up the courage and made a reservation. We had already ordered a set course, so all we had to do was wait for the food while enjoying some drinks. The wait was a blissful moment. The appetizers were delicious. The bean sprout namul had a nice acidity, and the tofu with hachomiso-style sauce was tasty. The tuna sashimi was lightly blanched and the mackerel was also delicious. The seared wagyu beef skewers were fresh and paired well with the sweet sauce. The skill of the chef in cutting the decorative rolled omelette was impressive. However, the tempura with lotus root, carrot, sweet potato, and shiitake mushroom seemed a bit over-fried, with a slightly burnt taste. The mountain vegetable mixed rice lacked a bit of flavor, especially when paired with alcohol. The ramen salad was overwhelming with its sesame mayo sauce, which may appeal more to younger people. It would be better if the sauce and salad were served separately so that diners could adjust the amount of sauce to their liking. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious at this place, but I visited while heavily intoxicated so I remember the taste of the food but not who I was with. I feel like I need to revisit soon, but I'm a bit hesitant because I might have caused some trouble for the staff last time. I'm a bit of a coward. However, I can guarantee the taste of the food, so if you have the chance, why not try the delicious dishes at this restaurant, Houchounin Yoshinori?

The restaurant is named "The Knife Man," but the sign on the storefront features an illustration more reminiscent of a deadly assassin than a knife-wielding person (laughs). However, the impact of the sign leads to high expectations, which are surpassed by the delicious dishes served! On this day, we ordered quite a variety of dishes, but there were a few standout recommendations. Among the vegetable tempura, the thinly sliced carrots and sweet potatoes had a fresh and crispy texture. The Satsuma jidori chicken tataki was cooked just right, maintaining its juiciness, and the garlic-infused soy sauce complemented it perfectly. The uni cream sauce with potato dumplings was incredibly rich and delicious. The sand liver sashimi was flavorful and had a unique texture. These four dishes were truly amazing and highly recommended! There were other tempting dishes on the menu as well. One minor issue was that the cleanup of a party room was left unattended for quite some time after the guests had left. Overall, the quality of the food was exceptional, and I would definitely recommend this restaurant for its casual yet gourmet dining experience.

On December 3, 2011 at 13:20 in Sapporo, Hokkaido, in the Chuo Ward, I had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant "Houchou-nin Yoshinori". I was invited by smile-hunter96, whom I had met through my blog, and we had a great time together. We started with a variety of dishes, including appetizers, sashimi, grilled chicken, tempura, and a hot pot with pork belly and chicken meatballs. The restaurant had a wide selection of drinks for us to enjoy, and we had a great time chatting about soba and sake at another restaurant called "Sakuratei". Thank you, smile-hunter96, for a wonderful dining experience, and let's do it again sometime!

I often use this place. Everything I eat is delicious, so I tend to overeat. In addition to the regular menu, there are also seasonal recommendations, so I never get tired of it. There are also many types of alcohol, so you can enjoy matching it with the menu. Not only do they have alcohol snacks, but they also have stone-grilled udon and rice dishes, so it's recommended for those who don't drink much alcohol. It's often fully booked on weekends, so it might be a good idea to make a reservation.

Knife Man Yoshinori
Theme: Alcohol
Around Susukino at night, I had a promise at 8 pm. On this day, before that time, I went to a shop that I had been curious about for a while. Knife Man Yoshinori.
There used to be a manga called "Houchounin Ajihei," right? I wonder if there's any connection.
Starting with a beer, the all-you-can-drink menu here is very diverse with reasonably priced shochu and sake included. And with a coupon, you can enjoy it for 980 yen for 90 minutes! Quite reasonable, right?
Appetizers
We were served three appetizers, each in small portions. The more variety of appetizers a restaurant has, the more promising it is.
Sashimi of Satsuma-jidori Chicken
The surface is crispy, and the inside is tender chicken sashimi, enjoyed with a mix of soy sauce and grated garlic. This goes perfectly with shochu! So, I quickly switched to shochu.
Squid Shumai
This probably contains squid paste. It's a must-try for squid lovers.
Shishamo Loin and Sashimi Platter
Nicely oily, the shishamo loin is delicious. The sashimi is just the right amount for a side dish.
Vegetable Tempura
Crispy vegetable tempura, delicious with matcha salt.
Leaf Wasabi
A personal favorite. I like mountain wasabi too, but this one seems more suitable as a drinking snack.
I would love to come back and enjoy the food and drinks more leisurely next time. I wish the all-you-can-drink time could be a bit longer...

I visited this restaurant with two of my work colleagues. The atmosphere inside the restaurant seemed more suited for women, so as guys, we felt a bit out of place (laughs). It was my first time there, so I looked through the menu. The set menus were quite reasonable. Later on, I found out that there are coupons available on various websites, making it seem almost like a chain restaurant. As someone who prefers independent restaurants, I had mixed feelings about this. The restaurant was quite busy. We started with the appetizer, which was okay. Then we ordered a sashimi platter since there were three of us. Despite the long history of Japanese cuisine and the dedication of the chefs, the quality was not much different from a chain restaurant. The grilled local chicken was delicious though. I could tell that the chefs were skilled, but I didn't feel much attention to detail in the ingredients. Considering the prices, it was understandable. I'm not sure if the restaurant is independently owned or operated by a sponsor, but it felt similar to a local chain restaurant. Perhaps because I usually prefer hidden independent restaurants, my overall satisfaction was not very high. This location may struggle if they rely solely on their customer base instead of focusing on the quality of their food. It's a good choice for groups and people who enjoy all-you-can-drink options.
