During summer vacation, the children's choice was Hamazushi. At first, I thought it was just a cheap place, but when we sat down, I discovered they had options without rice! There were choices like sashimi and half portions of rice, which was great for those watching their diet. The sashimi options were limited to tuna, salmon, and yellowtail. The touch panel had Tanjiro's voice, which made the children happy, and my daughter was lucky to receive a pouch when she ordered a Sumikkogurashi character. The taste was definitely geared towards children. The sea urchin was a bit dry, leaving me with the impression of "is this all?". The customers included groups of students, student couples, families with children, and those looking for large portions. Cheap, fast, and the proof is in the popularity of Hamazushi. What even is "hamai" anyway, haha.

Well, in terms of the overall quality of Zencho Group restaurants nationwide, it's about average. However, the service here is slightly better than Sukiya. Leaving aside the quality of the sushi, such as the fish and rice, it's not too bad here. Unlike other places, the sushi doesn't seem to be rolling off the plate and traveling around for a few laps. Considering it's only 90 yen on weekdays, it's hard to complain.

It's been a while since I went to Hamazushi! It feels like the rice balls are a bit smaller than before? I chose the ramen from the side menu! I really like the quality for this price! It was very delicious!

Visit date: October 5, 2018. Went with a friend to Hamazushi because we were feeling a bit hungry. It was our first time at this chain. We like it because you can eat a little or a lot. Lately, we've been using it quite often. This time, we noticed they had a fair menu with bluefin tuna for 100 yen, so we ordered that along with a few other items. Of course, we also ordered the seaweed miso soup that we always get. The fair menu offers a lot of tasty options for a good price. At Hamazushi, the dishes you order come around on a conveyor belt with a cup that says "ordered items" on top. However, several sushi plates that we had clearly ordered were ignored and kept going around. It felt a bit strange, like they were intentionally skipping our orders. We left feeling a bit conflicted.

If you want to eat cheaply like fast food, it's okay to go to places like Hamazushi. There are two major conveyor belt sushi chain restaurants in Kushiro where you can eat delicious sushi, so if you want to eat good sushi, you should go there. However, if you just want to fill your stomach cheaply, Hamazushi is also a good option. I'm not looking for delicious sushi, just something like what you can buy at a supermarket. To be honest, there are many not-so-tasty sushi options out there. People in Kushiro have a discerning palate when it comes to seafood, so they can tell what's not good. But still, I manage to find a few things that I can eat, like tuna, mackerel, shrimp tempura, squid tempura, and natto rolls.
