My second partner pilgrimage was to Miyoshi-san. I bought from their crowdfunding campaign, but this was my first time dining at their actual restaurant in a long time, maybe around 30 years. The small gyoza comes in a set of 6 for 290 yen, and even though they are small, they are filled with juicy meat and delicious. The highball came in a can of Suntory Toki.

Nowadays, if you go to Sapporo, you must have a meal at "Miyoshi". Their curry and gyoza are a must-try! The curry is not too spicy, somewhere between medium and hot, but once you eat it, you'll start sweating for a while. The gyoza has a thin skin and a simple, delicious filling. The side dish of cabbage pickles that comes with it has a great texture and pairs perfectly with the curry. Honestly, the curry and gyoza flavors are both around a B-grade, but when you combine them, it magically becomes almost an A-grade meal. The combination of curry, gyoza, and cabbage pickles creates a wonderful set meal. This curry and gyoza with cabbage pickles also go well with beer, making it a great snack to enjoy with a drink. This is a restaurant I will definitely visit again on my next trip to Sapporo.

This was my third visit to Hokkaido. I arrived at Narita Airport via LCC to make the most of the Hokkaido & East Japan Pass, avoiding Keisei and taking JR instead. Check-in at Narita was not as smooth as expected, but when I landed at New Chitose Airport, I was ready to explore! I took the subway to my hotel, dropped off my luggage, and immediately headed out. To familiarize myself with the route from the hotel to Sapporo Station, I walked back and forth between the two. On my way back, I explored a side street called "Tanuki Koji" in search of a place to eat. Since I hadn't had lunch, I had been looking for a restaurant the whole time, but I wasn't in the mood for ramen, Genghis Khan, or offal. I couldn't find a place that felt right until I thought, "Maybe Yoshinoya is okay," but I wanted to try a local chain restaurant if possible. So, I ended up at "Miyoshi Tanuki Koji Store." It's not a restaurant I see in my area. They seemed to specialize in curry rice and gyoza, but I didn't want the combination and opted for the gyoza set instead. I bought a meal ticket from the vending machine. They offered large and small portions of rice as sides, but strangely, there was no small portion option for the rice in the gyoza set (or maybe I just couldn't find it?). The interior had only two types of tables - square tables for four people and oddly shaped tables for five people. There were three chairs placed separately, either for waiting or as spare seats. The gyoza had a darkish color and a minced texture (I prefer the ingredients to be visible), with a strong flavor, so I enjoyed it without soy sauce.

This business trip focused on exploring Sapporo's soul food. I visited Miyoshi, a place I had been wanting to go for a while. I purchased the Miyoshi set, which includes curry and dumplings, from the ticket machine. I arrived shortly after opening, so I was able to get a seat easily, but it quickly filled up. The curry had a nostalgic taste, and the dumplings were indeed unique and delicious! They had a distinctive flavor that sets them apart from other dumplings. This unique taste makes me want to come back for more.

I was skeptical about whether gyoza and curry would go well together, but they actually do! I purchased a regular size spicy curry at the ticket machine. It came with a normal tasting curry with corn in it, which was delicious in a Sapporo-style way. The gyoza were also normal tasting. But when mixed together, they created a strangely delicious flavor. I finished it in no time. I regret not getting the large size. This place has become a must-visit spot whenever I come to Sapporo.

I tried the popular menu item "Miyoshino Set" at Miyoshino. My way of eating it is to sprinkle a little garlic from the table seasoning on the curry. The spicy curry and garlic really hit the spot for me. Of course, the gyoza also hit the spot for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the flavors. Thank you very much.

Miyoshino is famous for their gyoza curry. They are a gyoza and curry restaurant chain based in Sapporo, Hokkaido, operated by Ten Food Service Co., Ltd. The gyoza is made in their own factory, so the taste is consistent. I'm not a big fan of curry gyoza, so I just ordered the curry for 430 yen. In this era of high prices, it's great to be able to eat curry for less than a coin. The taste is average, like a nostalgic Showa era flavor. It's a curry that you eat when you want to feel a sense of nostalgia.

・Gyoza・・・・・・・・・・280 yen (tax included) A friend recommended "Miyoshino's gyoza" during a conversation about soul food. It's about a 20-minute walk from the station, with some sightseeing along the way. We arrived at the restaurant close to the last order time. I thought we would order beer and gyoza, but unfortunately, the toilet was broken and they didn't have small bottles of beer, so we ended up ordering just gyoza. The restaurant is small, with a table for four near the ticket machine and a counter with two seats in the back. Since it was almost closing time, we were seated at the table for four where there were already customers. The water was served promptly, followed by the gyoza in just 5 minutes. We also got some cabbage pickles for some reason. The gyoza had thin skins and finely chopped vegetable fillings. It lacked the strong garlic flavor of a chain restaurant's gyoza and had a more subtle and gentle taste. I like this type of gyoza, but I wish the skin was a bit crispier. There was a man sitting across from us who was eating the "Miyoshino set" which includes curry and gyoza. It's hard to imagine, but if the simple gyoza goes well with the curry, it might be delicious. After leaving the restaurant, my friend said that it might be considered soul food. [Recommended for solo dining] 1 * (optimal) 2 (if you are used to it) 3 (depending on the case) 4 (impossible) We dined as a party of two. It's a fast-food restaurant, so dining alone shouldn't be a problem. Also, the restaurant is small and can only accommodate a limited number of people, so dining alone or as a pair would be safe.

It was awkward every time a group of two customers came in, as the staff would ask someone to avoid them. Starting from 30 minutes before closing, they would ask if it's okay to close soon, which I understand, but I couldn't help but feel anxious that someone might get angry. I wanted to eat more slowly. It would be better if they just set a last order time and didn't let any more customers in.

I had been curious about Miyoshino's Tanuki Koji branch for a while. The interior of the restaurant was small, with a quick eat-and-go atmosphere. I ordered the Gyoza Curry (mild) for ¥550 and Coleslaw for ¥120. I visited around 5 pm, so it was not crowded, and they served the food quickly after ordering. The gyoza was so delicious that I wanted to order more, and it paired well with the curry. The meat wrapped in the dumplings was tasty! You can choose between mild and spicy curry. They also have pickled ginger in a box for you to add as a topping. I would like to visit again.

Miyoshino's Gyoza + Curry, a menu with a unique concept that is popular in Sapporo, especially among the locals. I visited the store in Tanukikoji where you purchase a meal ticket at the entrance. Without hesitation, I chose the Gyoza Curry for 550 yen. You can choose between spicy and mild, so I picked the spicy option. While I had been to the restaurant before, this was my first time trying the Gyoza Curry. The curry came with three pieces of gyoza, and I wished there were a couple more. The curry wasn't very spicy, even though I chose the spicy option. The combination of gyoza and curry felt a bit underwhelming, like two magnets that don't repel each other but also don't attract each other strongly. The gyoza had a chewy and thick skin that didn't get lost in the curry, but I felt that having them as a set meal would have made their individual flavors stand out more. This is just my personal opinion, and it's best not to delve into the dynamics of their relationship.

I started my Hokkaido mini trip by eating some soul food to get into the Hokkaido mood. When I was transferred here, I used to go to Miyoshi's curry a lot! At first, I was a bit skeptical about the combination of curry and gyoza, but whoever came up with this idea is a genius! It was delicious!! Dishes tried: Miyoshi's set, including curry and gyoza, priced at 660 yen including tax.

I went to Sapporo! The main purpose was to attend the Snow Festival, but eating was also an important goal. This time, I wanted to try the soup curry that I missed last time, and also explore some soul food. Upon arriving in Sapporo, I dropped off my luggage at the hotel and walked to Tanukikoji Street. I checked out a few soup curry restaurants, but they all had long lines even though it was past 2 o'clock. I was too hungry to wait for an hour. Plan B: Soul food - gyoza and curry. The restaurant had an old charm, and the customers were clearly locals, mostly men. No women, no elderly, no children. Everyone was having gyoza curry, the only choice. I had some reservations about gyoza with curry, so I ordered the "Miyoshi Set" separately for 660 yen. Surprisingly, the gyoza was delicious. It had a good texture, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. I consider King of Gyoza to be Gyoza no Ohsho, but in Sapporo, this place is definitely on par in terms of quality. As for the curry, it tasted just as I had imagined. Despite visiting at an odd time, the restaurant was about 60% full at all times. Gyoza and curry have captured the hearts of Sapporo men. Thank you for the meal.

Lunch in Sapporo is all about curry, right? I've been curious about Miyoshi for a while now, especially since I've seen Mitchy eating there. So, while in Sapporo, I couldn't resist trying Sapporo Soup Curry. Miyoshi offers a set with gyoza and curry rice for only 660 yen, which is really cheap! Both the gyoza and curry are delicious! It feels like a local soul food, and I can see why it's addictive! I can imagine enjoying a beer while eating these gyoza. I finished the meal thinking how good that would be.

A certain railway travel YouTuber visited this place, so I decided to give it a try. I ordered curry and dumplings. It's quite an unusual combination, I thought. The price was 660 yen. First, I tried the curry. It felt like something was missing. Next, I had the dumplings. Still felt like something was missing. Then, I decided to dip the dumplings in the curry sauce. That's it. This is the right way to eat it. Can you believe this miracle? I never thought that combining two things with such different flavors would create such an amazing result. I was really surprised.

I wandered into Furafura Arcade and decided to end my night with Sapporo's famous gyoza curry. As soon as I sat down, my companion ordered a Sapporo Classic beer, but it didn't go down smoothly. I nibbled on the service cabbage pickles while slowly sipping the beer. It seems like I've had quite a bit to drink. The buzzer rang, signaling that the dish was ready. The hot gyoza was served on top of the curry, along with sweet Fukujin pickles. I mixed the rice and spicy sauce with a spoon and took a bite. It's surprisingly easy to swallow... Maybe I was really hungry... Sapporo's specialty is a great late-night treat.

On the morning of the third day of my business trip to Sapporo, after enjoying some amazing sushi and other fun things last night, I am now switching gears to work mode. Today, I have a meeting in Sapporo near the station in the morning, followed by a lecture at the Hokkaido Government Building before heading back to Tokyo. Since lunch will be late, I decided to try the "soul food" recommended by a local, which led me to a small restaurant on Tanukikoji Arcade. I ordered the Gyoza Curry Spicy from the ticket machine inside the cozy shop and waited for my meal. The curry arrived after a short wait, and it was accompanied by some gyoza. The combination was interesting, not something I would have thought of, but it was surprisingly tasty. The portion was small, making it a good snack option. Overall, I enjoyed this unique Sapporo soul food experience. Thank you for the recommendation, Domisu-san!

The children who said they didn't like Gyoza Curry ended up sneakily trying it when we were eating and ended up liking it. They enjoyed it so much that we went back to Miyoshi's during our trip. The food was consistently delicious. You should try it at least once!笑

After witnessing the Chiba Lotte Marines' dramatic come-from-behind victory at the Sapporo Dome, I stopped by a place called Miyoshi on Tanukikoji Street for a solo celebration (laughs). Miyoshi's specialty is gyoza curry. Gyoza curry is a soul food in Sapporo, so I was unsure where to go for dinner, but when I found Miyoshi, I made a quick decision. I ordered the Jumbo Gyoza Curry and a Sapporo Classic beer in a medium bottle this time (laughs). The Jumbo Gyoza Curry was for two people (laughs). I polished off the complimentary cabbage pickles and emptied the bottle of beer, ending my solo celebration in a short time (laughs). As expected, it was simply delicious. #Miyoshi #TanukikojiStreetBranch #GyozaCurry #SapporoSoulFood #JumboisforTwoPeople(laughs) #SapporoClassic #SoloCelebration(laughs)

Since the Susukino store is no longer open 24 hours, I've been coming here a lot lately. I've been coming here since a long time ago, but I've lost count of how many times I've been here haha. On this day, my drinking buddies from Tokyo came, but we were turned away from two places in a row (temporary closure & fully booked), so I decided to take them to a local soul food spot nearby. They have a wide variety of alcohol options here, and if you order alcohol, they give you complimentary pickles - although it's a mystery if you can get refills haha. With set meals, you can get refills though. The Classic beer in a bottle was my friend's first time trying it and they loved it! The gyoza also had a rich flavor and was delicious! The curry was tasty too and went well with the gyoza. For my order, I asked for the gyoza to be extra crispy, and it turned out just right. The gyoza and curry here are really delicious! The pickles have a nice balance of flavors too. It's a place where you'll want to dip your gyoza in curry, it's that good! It's so delicious! I had a highball on an empty stomach for a light buzz haha. Oh, and before coming here, I was enjoying a can of beer while looking at the Sosei River. And so, the bar hopping started from 11 o'clock! This is the normal feeling I've had here since a long time ago, so I give it 3 stars. Hokkaido soul food is definitely better than King Shou, it's "Miyoshi" all the way! I really love it!
