The restaurant is easy to visit as the prices are not high. It has a big blue sign along Harumi Street. It is a bit far from Tsukiji Station, so it's often easy to get in on weekday nights, but there can be lines on weekends. They have a first floor, second floor, and a basement, so even when there's a line, they usually seat you relatively quickly. Normally, I order the Tsukiji menu for 1,650 yen, but today I got the chef's choice sushi for 3,850 yen. It included white fish, bonito, botan shrimp, mackerel, ark shell, horse mackerel, seared fatty tuna, conger eel, rolls, and I chose 2 pieces of each. I also ordered red snapper and sea urchin. Sea urchin is usually not available, but they had it today for an extra 550 yen. They served it in 3 pieces at a time, 4 times. I spent a little more than usual today, but normally it's good value for money.

Cheap yet delicious! However, there was quite a line. There were signs everywhere saying not to take photos, so I only took a picture of the exterior. This place serves authentic Edo-style sushi that is well-prepared. It's similar to casual sushi restaurants. They don't particularly age the fish, but they serve fresh ingredients with a little extra care. It seems like they're open late, so I'll definitely come back when in need.

I went to the restaurant on a weekday afternoon and surprisingly there was no line, so I was seated right away. I ordered the chef's choice sushi set for 4,180 yen, which included egg, flounder, bonito from Fukushima, shrimp from Hokkaido, mackerel, ark shell, golden eye snapper, kombu-wrapped sushi rolls, negitoro, squid negitoro, salmon roe, fatty tuna, seared eel, and fatty tuna. Everything was delicious and it was a great deal.

On the middle day of the three-day weekend, Sunday, I lined up to enter around 14:00 to 14:50. It was a hot day, so the air conditioning felt cold, but it's expected when dealing with fresh fish. The beer was ice cold and refreshing! The sushi had a good balance of rice and toppings, and the scallops were delicious.

"Sushi Dai" is excellent for its omakase nigiri. The anago (conger eel) in particular was superb, and I was impressed by its deliciousness. Being able to choose two items from the menu is a great service, allowing you to enjoy a variety of flavors. The atmosphere at the counter seats is also nice, and it was a fun time being able to see the craftsmanship up close. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

This sushi restaurant is also said to have the best cost performance. I visited for lunch and waited outside for about 15 minutes. I ordered the "Kachidoki" set for ¥3410 (tax included). I chose the shrimp as my favorite topping. The squid, golden eye snapper, and shrimp were delicious. The fatty tuna had a lot of sinew and the shellfish had a slight smell. If it was at the price before the price increase, it might be a good value. Various items are getting more expensive, so it can't be helped. Thank you for the meal.

This was my second visit for lunch! I ordered the chef's choice sushi set. Last time I visited during the pandemic, so there were only Japanese customers, but this time it seemed like more than half of the customers were tourists from overseas. Japanese sushi is delicious, so everyone wants to try it, right? haha Once again, I enjoyed the meal very much. The quality of sushi at this counter sushi restaurant in Tokyo is excellent for the price.

Every time I go to Tokyo, I may visit Sushidai in Tsukiji. They have a few courses available, but the recommended one is the omakase course. The price has increased by about 300 yen to 4180 yen. Additionally, they used to serve 10 pieces of sushi, 1 roll, and 2 pieces of your choice, but now it's only 9 pieces. The value for money at Sushidai used to be great, but with both visible and invisible price increases, it's a bit disappointing. It's hard to find a place these days that hasn't raised their prices. Regardless, the omakase course adjusts the speed at which the sushi is served, and you can request 2 pieces of your favorite at the end. The white fish had a nice texture and the fatty sea bream was delicious. The bonito had no unpleasant smell and was tasty. The botan shrimp was sweet and had a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The mackerel had surprisingly good fat content. The ark shell was large, chewy, and had a strong sea flavor. The horse mackerel had a good amount of fat and no unpleasant smell. The golden eye snapper marinated in kelp had a rich fat taste with a light aftertaste. The seared fatty tuna was a perfect combination of fat umami and smokiness. The conger eel was soft and fluffy, very comforting. For the 2 pieces of your choice, I always choose lean tuna, which was rich in flavor and had a good amount of fat on this day. The other piece was salmon roe, with a perfect popping texture and a gentle flavor. I also couldn't resist adding sea urchin for an extra charge, which was incredibly rich and creamy, a taste that lingers on your palate. Overall, Sushidai still offers consistently delicious sushi, even though the value for money has decreased with the price increase and portion reduction. It's still worth a visit at least once! Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at Tsukiji Station at 10 o'clock and found about 10 people lined up here 15 minutes before opening. I was able to get in on the first round.
[Order]
Ayame - ¥2,200
Oolong tea - ¥230
Nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) single item - ¥550
Everything was exquisite and melted in my mouth. The flavors were so good that I didn't need to use soy sauce. It was so delicious that I ended up ordering another serving of nodoguro. The only minor downside was that the wasabi in the rolls was a bit strong and made my nose tingle.
8 pieces + rolls + tamagoyaki for ¥2,200, I wonder if it's a good deal in terms of cost performance. However, considering the high-quality taste, good service, and the fact that it's slightly away from the crowded outer market in Tsukiji, I think it's a good value. Thank you for the meal.

After a long time, I felt like going and waited in line under the sun for about 30 minutes. I ordered the 2-piece chef's choice nigiri set. I toasted with a bottle of beer and enjoyed the fast-paced sushi serving. Although slightly small, 12 pieces came out, which was just the right amount. Everything was seasoned and delicious. My 2 favorite pieces were medium fatty tuna and shrimp. A correct choice! You can choose anything from the ingredients they have that day.

My favorite place to go for sushi is Tsukiji Sushi Dai, where I often visit. Usually, I go to the annex because it's less crowded, but this time it was surprisingly empty so I decided to go to the main building. I ordered the chef's choice course, which includes 11 pieces of nigiri and a roll, with 2 pieces of your choice. This time, I chose ikura and engawa as my favorites. I love the tamagoyaki that comes out first, with its subtle sweetness and inclusion of aosa seaweed. It always lifts my mood when I eat it. Today's selection included tai, akagai, kinmedai zuke, aji, and seared chutoro, among others. While it may not have the flashy knife skills of other high-end sushi places, the preparation is meticulous and the taste is excellent. It's like experiencing fast food Edo-style, with quick service typical of Tsukiji Market. I was full in no time. I'll definitely be back again!

The day before summer vacation, as a treat to myself, I decided to explore a sushi restaurant in Tsukiji alone. I was passing by and happened to see that it had many stars on Tabelog, so I went in. The first and basement floors were small, with seating for about 15 people, and it was almost full. I felt a bit nervous as I sat down. I didn't realize there was a second floor, which had table seating as mentioned on the official website. The interior of the restaurant was clean, the staff were friendly, and the sushi chef worked efficiently with a smile, giving off a good vibe even without any prior information. I didn't have much cash on me as it was my second stop, and there were no prices listed for individual items, so I nervously ordered the cheapest set. Each piece was explained in terms of its origin, and the freshness was evident with each bite. The shellfish was particularly delicious, with a nice texture and sweetness. The set also came with a soup, and at 1,870 yen, I was completely satisfied. Both my heart and stomach were content. They only accepted Visa for card payments. Normally, there's a long line at this restaurant, but I was lucky to get in without waiting on this Thursday before the Bon Festival. Next time, I'll make sure to have more money with me so I can visit again. I didn't take any photos inside the restaurant as I felt the sound of the shutter might be disruptive.

I went to Sushi Dai at an early hour, thinking it would be easy to get in. However, the counter downstairs was soon full within 30 minutes. It's still a popular restaurant. The reason for its popularity is probably the value of the set meals. There were many men eating alone. In the corner of the counter, there was a man drinking alone. When I tried to order oolong tea as my last drink, the waitress brought me an oolong high by mistake. But it's okay, I'll drink this, I thought I should be mindful of my body at the end, but it's like saying don't worry about that, and the smiling man. That's right. That's how you drink at a sushi restaurant. I nibbled on sardine sashimi and drank little by little. The squid snack was served with the claw attached, which was unusual. I nibbled on salmon roe and ate chawanmushi... When I saw the cucumber being peeled in front of me, it looked so delicious that I ordered a cucumber roll. I thought maybe it didn't have wasabi, so I asked for extra wasabi, but it turned out to be the type with plenty of wasabi. I had a few pieces of nigiri. The belly of the amberjack in front of me looked so delicious and it was indeed delicious. When I order squid or other items, I am asked if I want salt or soy sauce, but I always choose soy sauce. I think sushi goes well with soy sauce. While I was talking about this, the chef interrupted and said, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but sushi is a food that developed with soy sauce in Edo-style, so I think that's the correct answer." It was a nice exchange!

After a long time, I visited Sushi Dai. The annex is currently closed due to a shortage of staff. However, they are keeping the store as it is, and plan to reopen if they can hire more people. I ordered the omakase as usual. I noticed that the prices had gone up a bit since my last visit, but it was still a good deal. The omakase set cost 4180 yen and I also had some cold green tea. The sushi at Sushi Dai was as delicious as ever, with fresh ingredients and traditional preparation. It felt comforting to taste the strong vinegar flavor in the rice, like coming back home. I didn't feel like taking photos, so I enjoyed the sushi slowly while chatting with the chef. A couple of tourists from Australia sat next to me and mentioned that they came here because a guidebook had named it the best sushi in the world. I saw the guidebook and realized it was actually referring to the sushi place that had moved to Toyosu Market. I didn't correct them and just said that this place is amazing. They asked how to get to the big fish market, so I told them it had moved to Toyosu and is about a 15-minute subway ride from here. Later, I found out it's actually about a 12-minute drive, so maybe I should have suggested taking a taxi.

On a night illuminated by the moonlight, there stands a sushi restaurant in Tsukiji named "Sushi Dai". As you open the door, you are greeted by a serene atmosphere filled with the scent of wood, promising a blissful moment. Skilled artisans, with a sincere expression and narrowed eyes, skillfully prepare a variety of colorful seafood. The beauty of the sliced fish is like a sculpture, each piece of sushi meticulously crafted like a work of art. That night, a lone customer entered the restaurant. He was a traveler who had stopped by on his journey, captivated by the freshness of the ingredients and the artisans' skills. Seated at the counter, he was amazed by the artisans' work. Each plate of sushi brought to him unfolded a delicate flavor when he put it in his mouth. The fusion of fresh seafood and the artisans' dedication filled him with deep emotion. In that moment, it was as if he caught a glimpse of the fish's journey and the artisans' passion. There were other customers in the restaurant as well. Though strangers, they connected through smiles and heartwarming interactions over plates of sushi. The invisible thread woven through the meal mysteriously brought people together, creating a sense of unity in the place. "Sushi Dai", through the art of food and the encounters of people, quietly etches itself into the history of Tsukiji. The story behind the high-end sushi touches each person's palate, leaving a deep impression.

Arrived 30 minutes before opening on Saturday and was third in line! The line kept growing steadily! Sat in the underground seating area and had the omakase nigiri set of 11 pieces with a beer. Chose my two favorite pieces, medium fatty tuna and blackthroat seaperch. The sushi pieces were small, so I finished them all in no time. It was delicious!

In the Tsukiji area, it is rare to find a shop where a skilled artisan will make sushi right in front of you and serve it on sushi geta for only 1,000 yen. The lunch options are 1,000 yen for one serving and 1,500 yen for 1.5 servings, and they also offer chirashi sushi. We arrived around 12:30 and our order caused them to run out of certain items. Other customers were ordering a la carte dishes while enjoying drinks, so it seems that the lunch sets are limited in quantity. When you sit down, they place pickled ginger on the sushi geta and start making the sushi. Since it's lunchtime, they work quickly and serve the sushi promptly. The scallops were delicious with a hint of salt, and the amberjack was fresh and tasty. The service is traditional and straightforward, but considering the cost, it's not an issue at all. Since it's not the type of place where they anticipate your needs, don't hesitate to communicate your preferences.

I arrived at the restaurant on a weekday at 11:30 and had to wait in line for about 40 minutes before being seated at the counter on the first floor. I ordered the chef's choice, which allows you to choose two types of sushi at a reasonable price. The ingredients were fresh and thickly cut, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was great. I was very satisfied and would love to visit this place again.

I visited this place for the first time. I was in Tsukiji and wanted to eat sushi. I was hesitating because the restaurant didn't look very appealing in the pictures (I apologize if that sounds rude), but I decided to go in. There was no wait that day, but it seems like a popular place normally. I ordered the Chef's Choice, where you can choose two pieces of your liking. I thought I had to choose both at the beginning, but it was actually one piece first. I added a bit more to choose sea urchin. The Chef's Choice is not all served at once, but little by little. The sea urchin was sweet and delicious. The other pieces like horse mackerel, ark shell, marinated golden eye snapper, rolls, conger eel, seared fatty tuna, bonito, etc., were all delicious. The rice was just right, and overall it was a great sushi restaurant. For the last piece, you can choose any one you like, so I chose the fatty tuna. It was incredibly delicious. Miso soup was included, making it a great deal. I had a great experience at this restaurant. I would love to visit again when I come to Tsukiji. Thank you for the meal. I was too focused on eating, so I only have one picture, but I highly recommend this place!

I went to a sushi restaurant in Tsukiji with a friend and had some drinks. The restaurant is located closer to Tsukiji Market rather than the outer market. It had a counter on the first floor and table seating on the second floor. The place was bustling with foreign tourists. We started with drinks and sashimi at the counter. The fish was very fresh and the sashimi was excellent. The main sushi had small rice portions, allowing us to fully enjoy the fish. Every piece we tried was delicious, especially the hokkigai. The lively atmosphere, delicious fish, and drinks in Tsukiji got us really excited. Thank you for the meal.

I want to introduce a familiar restaurant where you can quickly enjoy delicious sashimi at night. As expected from Tsukiji, they offer a wide variety of sashimi. The cost performance is also good. The white mirugai (geoduck clam) was delicious on this day. The sake served was Otoko Yamahai, a dry type that goes well with appetizers. There are many foreign tourists, especially from Asia. It seems like this restaurant is listed in guidebooks.
