This is a wonderful restaurant in the Hokuriku region that offers a full course by the master chef Ueki, born in Ishikawa Prefecture. It quickly surpassed a 4.5 rating on Tabelog, and I hesitated for a while, wondering if it was too early for me. The restaurant, located right next to Ushigoro, where I had my birthday party reserved, has an innovative design. I had been wanting to visit someday, and finally got the chance when invited by Kodansha. Here's a summary of the courses: 1. Sweet Melancholy Foie Gras with Shrimp and Cacao 2. Ripple in Sunlight: Awaji Eel, Corn, Red Snapper, Southern Claws 3. Clear Shiitake Mushroom with Soft Water and Noto Salt 4. Overcoming Rough Waves: Marinated Horse Mackerel with Salted Seaweed and Cinnamon Basil 5. Tropical Breeze Mojito 6. Fortunate Encounter: Lamb Loin with New Lotus Root and Bay Scallop 7. Invitation to Joy: Conger Eel with Wild Plants and Bonito 8. View from the Window: Grapefruit, Kiwi, Cucumber 9. Summer Rain: Pineapple, Ripe Nanko Ume Plum, Beets 10. Tiny Jewels Petit Fours The fusion of Americanized French cuisine with Japanese ingredients was surprisingly delicious. I had an amber moment, enjoying an unparalleled time with close acquaintances in both personal and professional circles. I was also honored to be invited by the familiar Tatsuo Kamo, and the second party took us to Roppongi. Kamo-san, who will turn 60 on August 17th, entertained us with his amusing nasal milk-drinking antics. Thank you very much.

It's French cuisine, but it uses plenty of domestic ingredients and has flavors that are close to Japanese cuisine. There are innovative combinations like foie gras × sweet shrimp × cocoa, but they're delicious, not just flashy. The menu has luxurious touches like choosing your own knife for the main course, adding to the experience. The modern atmosphere indoors, with the flickering flames of the fireplace, made for a fantastic time. The dishes were as follows: "Receiving Sunlight on Ripples" (Cockage, Cauliflower, Osetra Caviar), "Sweet Melancholy" (Foie Gras, Sweet Shrimp, Cocoa), "Flower of the Banquet" (Bluefin Tuna, Matsutake Mushroom, Autumn Truffle), "Invitation to Joy" (Wild Mushroom, Hair Crab, Consommé), "Arrival of Autumn" (Cutlassfish, Autumn Eggplant, Ginkgo Nuts), "Fortunate Encounter" (Japanese Black Beef, Shark Fin, Red Turnip), "Thoughtful Refreshment" (Pear and Lime palate cleanser), "Enveloped in the Breath of the Mountain" (Japanese Chestnut, Raspberries, Frangelico), and "Herbal Tea and Petit Fours Infusion vert et Mignardises." The portions were just right, leaving room for the tasty tea treats. Additionally, you can order cheese à la carte after the main course.

French culinary genius Chef Masahito Ueki's concept of "Japanese spirit meets Western talent" shines in this innovative restaurant. Stimulate your senses with dishes that blend excellent ingredients from all over Japan with French culinary techniques, perfectly paired with wine. The warm and modern ambiance, reminiscent of a resort in southern France's Provence region, offers a fusion of Japanese and French gastronomy.

I visited for a dear friend's birthday celebration and was disappointed to learn that the long-serving manager, Mr. Takase, had been transferred to another department. However, I had the pleasure of meeting the new assistant manager, Mr. Saito, and the manager. Their expertise in choosing dishes and wines that even impress my friend, a food enthusiast and wine lover, is truly commendable. The portions are just right for my decreased appetite these days. The restaurant interior ensures a good distance between tables, providing an enjoyable experience even in regular seating. Additionally, there are private rooms for 8 and 4 people, making it suitable for business use. There is a drop-off space and parking in front of the store, and the overall ambiance is surprisingly elegant for Nishi-Azabu.

The taste and service were excellent! I don't drink much alcohol, so I was happy they had a non-alcoholic pairing (Royal Blue Tea) that paired well with the dishes. The staff were well-trained, and overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant dining experience.

The restaurant I frequent the most in Tokyo. Lately, there have been many changes in sommeliers and service staff, which makes me feel a little lonely, but I want to continue supporting the growth of the restaurant. For appetizers, they served Amela tomato mousse with hairy crab jelly, topped with mozzarella cheese foam and caviar. Both the mousse and foam bring out the distinct flavors of the ingredients, making it a perfect dish for summer. The corn soup is not just sweet; it also has a hint of smokiness, adding depth to its flavor. I paired it with the familiar Azur Rose wine. The ayu (sweetfish) was served fried with a sauce that balances acidity and creaminess, and the slightly enhanced cucumber sauce was delicious. The bread seemed a bit different, with more grainy texture. The fish dish was horse mackerel served with crustacean sauce and squid ink sauce, enhancing its umami. The duck from Nanasawa in Kyoto was juicy with crispy skin—so delicious! Lastly, the dessert was a refreshing combination of peach and myoga, accompanied by adorable sweets. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

Birthday or anniversary, this is the place to celebrate. Whether it's a date with your significant other or a couple's outing, the atmosphere is cozy, allowing for enjoyable conversation while attentive staff occasionally join in, making for a delightful time. Moreover, each dish showcases innovation, with combinations of ingredients that make you wonder how they achieve such harmony. Every bite is a surprise, leaving you impressed. Located not far from Nishi-Azabu Crossing, Azure is definitely worth a visit. Treat yourself. Cheers!

Everything was delicious, and the staff's service was pleasant. It was a wonderful birthday celebration. Thank you very much. In particular, the second dish, a kind of tuna tartare, and the changed meat dish were delicious. I still don't fully understand the complex flavors, so I think I need to study French cuisine more, but this meal was simply delicious. Well, who you eat with also matters, I suppose... haha 87,000 yen for 2 people.

It's our favorite restaurant as a couple. The moment you step inside, the soothing aroma and the blue and white-themed interior whisk you away to another world. Today, we visited for lunch for the first time. As always, the appetizers were beautifully presented, featuring seasonal ingredients generously used to create delicate and intricate flavors that pair wonderfully with wine. The modern and light French cuisine is truly remarkable, unique to Masauki-san. One great thing about lunch is that even when you're full, there's still plenty of time before bedtime. 😊 The variety and satisfaction rival dinner! We can't wait to visit again soon.

Located just a short walk from the Nishi-Azabu intersection. Although I took a taxi, it's tucked away in a maze-like alley where you might get lost if you walked. I made a reservation two months in advance for a birthday celebration. Probably the chef answered the phone and kindly discussed allergies, wine, and the birthday plate. We arrived a bit early, but they were able to accommodate us in the waiting area, which was helpful! The interior, predominantly wooden with a lovely fireplace, added to the serene ambiance. [What We Ordered] - Lunch Course × 2 (¥16,500 each) - Various dishes including salmon, green peas, hairy crab, white asparagus, seasonal fish, chicken egg, and more. - Bottled white wine (Puligny Montrachet, around ¥55,000) - Champagne glasses × 2 - Red wine glasses × 2 - Bottled mineral water × 2 We had a leisurely lunch with only two other parties that day. The wine list is on a tablet and though extensive, felt a bit pricey. Perhaps the wine pairing is recommended. We opted for a crisp white wine to counter the humid weather. The dishes were meticulously crafted with Japanese ingredients elevated to French cuisine. Starting with refreshing appetizers, the flavors gradually intensified towards the mains. All were delicious, but the accompanying vegetables, especially the white asparagus, were exceptional. The freshly baked bread was also delightful! The dessert plate featured intricate chocolate patterns and "Happy Birthday" written on it, complete with a candle, which was a nice touch. Even the petit fours at the end were impeccably executed. Despite not being too crowded, the service seemed to falter towards the end—bottle service stopped, and engaging in conversation with the staff became difficult. It's disappointing because part of the joy of dining at a fine restaurant is interacting with the staff. Nonetheless, the chef bid us farewell at the end. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

This was my first visit, and although I couldn't find much on Tabelog or Ikyu, I was blown away by the incredible food at such reasonable prices, the perfectly paired wines, the attentive service from a customer's perspective, and the ambiance of the restaurant. The sommeliers were also outstanding. Whether it's a special occasion or just a casual meal, I believe you'll always leave completely satisfied. I'll definitely be coming back. *Not all wines are listed.

I had plans to go to Omotesando and was looking for a good place to eat, so I made a reservation through Tabelog! Although I don't have a picture, before being seated at our table, we were first taken to a sofa seating area and served delicious tea (I think they said it was Oolong tea or Taiwanese tea...). It felt like a nice break upon arrival, which I thought was a thoughtful touch. The food was just as shown in the photos. For the main dish, you could choose between chicken and Wagyu beef, but I went with chicken because it seemed like Wagyu could be had anywhere. I was glad I did because I got to try various parts of the chicken, including breast meat, thigh meat, sausage made from the meat, liver, and other organs. It was a wonderful meal. Thank you very much.

Newcomer winery "AZUR WINES" from California's Napa Valley has opened a winery French restaurant in Nishi-Azabu, featuring renowned French chef Ueki. The ingredients primarily come from Ueki's hometown in Hokuriku, ensuring both deliciousness and visual appeal. The dishes beautifully blend Japanese and French elements, showcasing a premium quality. The paired wines complement the dishes excellently, demonstrating a sophisticated sense befitting a winery restaurant. The narrative-rich dishes, coupled with high-quality wine, enhance the overall dining satisfaction.

The restaurant exuded a sense of storytelling through its cuisine, with impeccable timing in serving dishes. The atmosphere was tranquil, with sophistication and no hint of arrogance. Despite its high standards, it felt welcoming, allowing us to seamlessly immerse ourselves in its ambiance. Each dish had a title and description, ensuring clarity and avoiding any confusion. The balance between explanation and mystery heightened the joy of exploring each course. The staff's attentive care and the surprise element at the end of our culinary journey were remarkable. The birthday cake, perfectly sized as envisioned, and the flavor of the post-course cake were exquisite. It was such an enjoyable adventure that I forgot to take photos.

The classic foie gras appetizer was replaced with a salad of firefly squid and mountain vegetables, which was both traditional and special. Foie gras, while good, is becoming difficult to source and may not suit all guests' tastes, so this change seems to be in line with current trends. The highlight of this meal was undoubtedly the meat dish! The dessert not only looked cute but also tasted wonderfully reminiscent of spring. Thank you for the delicious meal.

The waiter provided impeccable service with precise timing for each dish – not too slow, not too fast. The cuisine exceeded all expectations, with a perfect balance of a tranquil atmosphere, meticulous presentation, and a variety of high-quality dishes. The simple yet flavorful seasoning showcased the full potential of the ingredients, delivering a profound and professional finish. Every dish, from the vibrant Sakura trout with caviar and Osetra to the tender spring lamb with clams and seasonal vegetables, evoked a sense of awe. The attention to detail extended to the impressive petit fours, and the wine selection complemented the experience excellently. The lunch course, priced at 16,500 yen, with an additional 3,500 yen for the premium Japanese beef, along with a glass of wine at 2,200 yen, made for a satisfying and memorable culinary journey. The menu featured delightful elements like smiling Sakura trout, seasonal delicacies like firefly squid, and the indulgent black Wagyu beef with black truffle. The dessert, infused with the arrival of spring and flavors of chamomile, citrus, and lemoncello, concluded the meal on a high note. The herbal tea, petit fours, bread, salt, and butter added the perfect finishing touches. The entire experience, from the warm service to the fresh and premium ingredients, left a lasting impression. The budget for one person, around 30,000 yen, was well worth the extraordinary culinary adventure.

I made a reservation for my birthday dinner with my parents! It's located about a 10-minute walk from Nogizaka. The area seems to have many stylish hidden gem restaurants! Upon entering the restaurant, there's a waiting area upfront where we were seated on a sofa until our table was ready. They served tea in small wine glasses that looked like they could be used for dessert wine. Chic, right? (laughs) I always find it amusing that with innovative fusion restaurants, you never quite know what to expect until the dishes arrive, which adds to the excitement! Course: 22,000 yen - Sakura Trout with Green Peas and Osetra Caviar - Tuna with Black Truffle and Swan Turnip - Spring Fish with Wild Vegetables and Wasabi - White Asparagus with Chicken Egg Sauce - Pufferfish with Rice and Bamboo Shoots in a Curry-flavored Kataifi - Wagyu Beef with Truffle and Spring Vegetables in a Rich Madeira Sauce Dessert consisted of two items, both served in adorable plates, offering a slightly unconventional yet delightful experience. - Mugwort, Rosemary, and Lemon "Dry Landscape Garden" - Chamomile Citrus and Limoncello "Arrival of Spring" They also provided a selection of petit fours including macarons, butter sandwiches, financiers, petit jellies, and chocolates, along with herbal tea, of which we indulged in a second cup! While we debated on opting for the drink pairing, we ended up choosing one champagne, one white, and one red wine, each priced around 16,000 yen per bottle. Though a bit pricey, it seemed to be the norm. Instead of a wine list, we relied on the sommelier's recommendations, which were presented one bottle at a time. This was a bit surprising, as we're used to having more choices, but our usual preference for selecting wines wasn't accommodated here (laughs). Additionally, despite reserving a whole cake through Tabelog, it was forgotten due to insufficient reminders and oversight on the restaurant's part. While it didn't bother me much as the one being celebrated, my mother seemed disappointed. High-end restaurants tend to raise expectations, and although they made some thoughtful gestures towards the end, it left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. As a family who enjoys hearty and voluminous French cuisine over innovative fusion, we were reminded of our preferences. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable to experience innovative fusion cuisine after a long time. Thank you for the feast!

On weekdays, I reserve and purchase bento boxes. This was my 120th visit. Recently, work has calmed down, so I've been dining in more often. It's been 20 days since my last bento. I ordered a mild Keema curry bento with pork, two portions of achaar, and onion seaweed, totaling 2600 yen. It's a suitable price for enjoying at home. It's my first time ordering two portions of achaar, which usually comes in generous amounts with the bento. There's always a variety in its flavor, sometimes more acidic, sometimes more spicy, but always delicious. What remains consistent is its texture, wonderfully crunchy, adding a unique feel to the meal. Having two portions might be too much at once, so I'll save one for tomorrow. Pork, which I've missed lately due to more vegetable-based toppings, fills me with energy. Its flavor is rich but not overwhelming, with a perfect soy sauce-like seasoning. The size of the cartilage varies, and too much can sometimes be too gelatinous, but when I'm craving meat, less is more energetic. The onion seaweed is fantastic, packed with the umami of Japanese cuisine yet healthy. Today, the infusion of seaweed was particularly excellent. The advantage of a bento is being able to absorb all the flavors, especially the last bit of curry sauce, like a vacuum, which is irresistible.
