Second visit to "Asakusa ASATora" restaurant. This time, I went with some gourmet friends (or should I say, foodies), and there were three of us. The appearance of the restaurant is like any other small, casual izakaya. Some might be intimidated by the tough-looking chef, but don't worry, everyone there is really friendly.
Now, recommending something you love and find delicious can be nerve-wracking. Until the first dish is served, you feel like you might faint... And then, the first dish "Red Clam and Aoyagi" is served. Oh! The friends I was with kept saying "Delicious~♪" as soon as they tried it. It felt like a 100kg weight was lifted off my shoulders.
From the beautiful "Katsuo Sashimi" to the "Goto's Rock Oysters," I was convinced that this place is amazing. The creamy texture of the rock oysters, with no fishy smell at all, was top-notch!
I couldn't miss my favorite "Dashimaki Tamago" and "Aji Fry," and when I asked for my favorite "rolls," they mixed up a variety for me - "Iwashi no Kaori Maki, Saba no Gari Maki, Kohada no Kappa Maki." The beautiful colors of the sardines are something to behold... I was moved.
The owner, Asou-san, with his big body and big hands, is a very thoughtful person.
As this is a small restaurant, reservations are a must. You can easily make a reservation online through Tabelog. I reserved the partitioned space at the back in advance. This restaurant allows smoking, so if you're okay with that, the counter seats are recommended. You can enjoy freshly made sushi right at the counter, which is a charm.
This visit had even more impact than the last time, it was truly delicious. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.
