Second visit to "Asakusa ASATora" restaurant. This time, I went with some gourmet friends (or should I say, foodies), and there were three of us. The appearance of the restaurant is like any other small, casual izakaya. Some might be intimidated by the tough-looking chef, but don't worry, everyone there is really friendly. Now, recommending something you love and find delicious can be nerve-wracking. Until the first dish is served, you feel like you might faint... And then, the first dish "Red Clam and Aoyagi" is served. Oh! The friends I was with kept saying "Delicious~♪" as soon as they tried it. It felt like a 100kg weight was lifted off my shoulders. From the beautiful "Katsuo Sashimi" to the "Goto's Rock Oysters," I was convinced that this place is amazing. The creamy texture of the rock oysters, with no fishy smell at all, was top-notch! I couldn't miss my favorite "Dashimaki Tamago" and "Aji Fry," and when I asked for my favorite "rolls," they mixed up a variety for me - "Iwashi no Kaori Maki, Saba no Gari Maki, Kohada no Kappa Maki." The beautiful colors of the sardines are something to behold... I was moved. The owner, Asou-san, with his big body and big hands, is a very thoughtful person. As this is a small restaurant, reservations are a must. You can easily make a reservation online through Tabelog. I reserved the partitioned space at the back in advance. This restaurant allows smoking, so if you're okay with that, the counter seats are recommended. You can enjoy freshly made sushi right at the counter, which is a charm. This visit had even more impact than the last time, it was truly delicious. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

My wife and I had dinner at ASA Tora, which we had previously tried for lunch and found to be above our expectations. We started with two servings of shime saba (pickled mackerel, 300 yen each), as my wife no longer eats mackerel. I had both servings. For drinks, I had two glasses of Yosihikari soda (550 yen each) and my wife had oolong tea (390 yen). For food, we ordered the following dishes: Katsuo salad (990 yen, a salad with bonito sashimi), Nasu agebitashi (650 yen, fried eggplant with a delicate flavor), and Aji fry (700 yen, a delicious rare fried horse mackerel). I ordered the Omakase Jyukkann (3300 yen, which included nodoguro, shimesaba, kinmedai, hiragai, chutoro, otoro, shiroika, kohada, uni, and anago nigiri). The sushi rice was not too vinegary, and the nigiri were beautifully made and delicious. My wife had the Toro taku maki (600 yen) and Anago kyuuri maki (500 yen), both of which were beautifully made and tasty. This place is an ideal izakaya where you can enjoy proper nigiri sushi and delicious dishes like the Aji fry at a reasonable price.

A friend brought me to this place because they said the fried horse mackerel here is amazing! The location is within a 5-minute walk from Asakusa Station. We arrived at 7 pm and the restaurant was almost full. The fried horse mackerel (700 yen) is cut for easy eating. It is thick and moist inside. The fried horse mackerel at Arashiyama's Shin-Yashiki is also delicious, but the one here has a different kind of deliciousness! We also tried the sashimi of blackthroat seaperch and the tender octopus stew. Since our main focus was on the meal, I couldn't take many photos... Looking at the menu, they also have sushi, so this place seems enjoyable as a sushi izakaya as well! I definitely want to come back again!

The half-cooked fried horse mackerel is incredibly delicious! The fluffy conger eel tempura and corn tempura are also excellent fried dishes! However, everything I tried was very delicious. I ordered a set of 7 types of Japanese sake for 2000 yen, and it was a great selection. Items consumed: Set of 7 types of Japanese sake for 2000 yen, Horse mackerel tempura, Conger eel tempura, Corn tempura, Ishidai (fish) sashimi with egg yolk, Sashimi of chicken breast, Horse mackerel wrapped in perilla leaves, Seafood salad.

I went to see a comedy live at Asakusa Public Hall and stopped by this restaurant on the way back. I was grateful to be able to get a seat for two hours before the reserved customers arrived. The assorted sashimi was fresh and delicious. The tempura of horse mackerel was surprising with its rare inside, truly a first-time experience. The fish's zanki was also unusual. It's not just the usual menu at this izakaya, but unique dishes that make it worth visiting. The stylish atmosphere is typical of Asakusa, and it was a delightful two hours of delicious food on Tanabata.

Visited for a second party in Asakusa. Ordered sashimi of sardines, sea urchin, rolled omelette, shrimp fry, and grilled conger eel. Everything was delicious and the alcohol went down smoothly. However, the grilled conger eel was a bit watery and personally felt like it lacked enough grilling, which was a little disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

A izakaya in Asakusa. Located a few minutes walk from Tobu Asakusa Station, behind the station. I made a reservation using the Tabelog reservation function for this visit. The restaurant has a fairly small interior with mainly table seating, and that's where we sat on this day. This place offers a variety of seafood dishes on the menu. We ordered a sashimi platter, sushi rolls, grilled mentaiko, fried salmon, tempura, etc. The food was of high quality and considering the quality, the cost is quite reasonable at around 5,000 yen even with drinks. If you want to enjoy delicious fish in Asakusa, be sure to give this place a try.

There was a restaurant that had turned me down a few times when I tried to walk in on the same day. It seems like it's better to make a reservation online because they often have availability online. There were several customers who were turned away when they tried to walk in. I ordered sashimi, horse mackerel fry, seafood salad, and vegetable tempura. The sashimi and horse mackerel fry were recommended! All the sashimi was delicious and fresh. There was sardine sashimi, which I was hesitant to eat because sardines usually have a lot of small bones, but this one had none and was very tasty. The horse mackerel fry was also delicious, with a slightly raw and fresh taste. However, the vegetable tempura was honestly not that great. The batter was too thick and soggy. If you're going just for the fish, it seems like a good place to visit.

Today, I had a dinner meeting here. I love the rare fried horse mackerel they serve. It came with an all-you-can-drink course. The taste is delicious without any fishy smell. The staff was friendly and made the meal and drinks enjoyable. Thank you for the meal.

The sushi was just the right size, not too big or too small, making it easy to eat. In addition to the sushi, the minced tuna and sashimi were also delicious and satisfying. I was surprised that despite its unique appearance, the Gyaru sushi was actually delicious. I would like to visit again if I have the chance.

I made a reservation online and visited the restaurant. It's a small place, so it can get crowded. I ordered firefly squid, assorted sashimi, sea urchin sashimi, horse mackerel fry, and a beer to start. Then I switched to a limited edition sake recommended by the staff and enjoyed it. I was surprised by the rare horse mackerel fry. For the finale, I chose my favorite sushi toppings. The menu is varied, from classics to recommendations. You can create your own course and have a great time. Personally, I don't like smoking during meals. I wish the restaurant was non-smoking.

I visited this restaurant on a friend's recommendation. Since it's spring, we tried the firefly squid, broad beans, and blackthroat seaperch sashimi. Everything was delicious! Especially the firefly squid, you could really taste the care taken in preparing it. The sushi was also bite-sized and easy to eat. The only downside was that there was a two-hour time limit. We ended up taking our time drinking and didn't have enough time to fully enjoy the sushi... I wish we could have tried more variety.

First Visit 202304 (No.4384) 1. Purpose of visit - Selected as a lunch spot while gathering material in the Asakusa area. 2. Shop information - Genre on Tabelog: Izakaya, Seafood, Sushi - Opened on June 14, 2021 - A highly rated Japanese sushi izakaya in this area - Business hours: Weekdays 16:00-24:00, Sat 13:00-24:00, Sun 12:00-24:00 - Closed on Mondays (or the following day if it's a holiday) - Seating capacity: 20 seats 3. Crowded conditions & atmosphere on the day - Visited around 12:05 on the weekend with 3 customers already seated and 7-8 customers coming in later. - The spacious interior, predominantly white, exudes a friendly and bright atmosphere. 4. Customer service - Service was as per the manual. 5. Ordered items - Otoshi (Squid liver) 300 yen - ASA Tora's specialty Bubble Roll Set (One drink included) 1,990 yen Opted for a small glass of draft beer, but the size was disappointing. The "Bubble Roll," served in 14-15 minutes, was a thin roll with a moderate amount of sea urchin and salmon roe on top, which was tasty. However, the promised "Instagram-worthy guaranteed!" fell a bit short. Thank you for the meal.

Asakusa ASA Tora (seafood izakaya) opened in June 2021 in Hanakawado, Taito-ku, Tokyo (Asakusa). Located just a 1-2 minute walk from Asakusa Station, it offers high-quality delicious seafood and drinks. The restaurant is slightly off the main tourist area on the north side, making it a hidden gem in the Asakusa area. Recommended dishes include Maguro Chutoro sashimi (1,200 yen), ASA Tora's signature Aji Fry (700 yen), Iwashi no Kaori Maki (990 yen), Uni nigiri/gunkan (920 yen), various sushi and rolls, Toro Taku Maki (650 yen), Namida Maki (350 yen), draft beer (600 yen), and various types of sake. The seafood quality is top-notch, surpassing typical izakaya standards. The Maguro Chutoro and Iwashi no Kaori Maki are visually appealing and taste exquisite. The Aji Fry is unique with a rare tender meat and crispy coating. The menu offers a wide range of seafood dishes, including sushi and rolls. There are also 10-15 types of sake available, making it enjoyable for sake enthusiasts. However, while the one-plate dishes are of high quality, the sushi is average, with dry rice and seaweed. The sushi and rolls were mediocre in terms of portion and taste. Depending on the sushi chef, the impression may vary. Overall, Asakusa ASA Tora is a high-quality seafood izakaya, but for sushi, there are other options in Asakusa with better value. It is recommended to focus on the seafood dishes and use it as an izakaya rather than a sushi restaurant for a more satisfying experience.

My partner and I, along with another friend, decided on this sushi restaurant the day before and it turned out to be a huge hit! Even though I always want to eat a lot of sushi, I often can't finish it all. However, at Asatora, the rice portions are small, so I was able to enjoy all my favorite toppings without any waste. The taste was also amazing. Despite eating and drinking until we were full, I was pleasantly surprised that the bill came out to be less than expected, around 9,000 yen per person. I was so shocked that I had to double-check the total. I think even students on a date can afford this place, so I highly recommend it! ✨

When it comes to Asakusa, Hoppy and stew are must-try dishes. This place is recommended for when you want to go bar hopping or enjoy delicious, high-quality food at a reasonable price. The rare fried horse mackerel and horse mackerel namero are especially delicious. The Gal Sushi (3 pieces for 1,350 yen) and assorted tempura (1,450 yen) are also recommended. Other dishes like dashimaki tamago (600 yen), chicken and wasabi (550 yen), and fried eggplant in broth (650 yen) are also available. Enjoy your meal!

The fried horse mackerel was delicious! I recommended it to my friend and they wanted to go, so this time we went with three people. We made a reservation for the buri shabu course in advance, and planned to add other dishes if we wanted. Everything we had after the fried horse mackerel was additional to the course. Personally, I love buri so of course it was delicious, but the fried horse mackerel is a must-try. Everything we had this time was delicious without any disappointments. My friend also said they want to try the sushi course next time, so we will probably visit again.

It's a hidden gem that was recommended to us, so we visited with a close friend. The restaurant, called "ASA Tora," is known for its fish dishes and sushi prepared by the former sushi chef. It's located just a 5-minute walk from Asakusa, but the narrow alleyway entrance might make it a bit hard to find. The young chef, around 30 years old, and a young assistant, along with a part-time female staff member, were running the place. We sat at a table and ordered drinks, then carefully looked over the extensive menu. We ended up choosing cucumber salad, dashimaki tamago, sashimi trio, and shirako tempura. The cucumber salad was plentiful and delicious, while the dashimaki tamago was a bit on the salty side. The shirako tempura was incredibly tasty, with a rich and creamy flavor. We also tried the buri shabu-shabu, which was light and refreshing. The grilled horse mackerel, served with seaweed and shiso, was a great choice. And the highlight of the meal was definitely the crispy and flavorful aji fry. Overall, we had a great dining experience and the bill came out to around 5000 yen per person with a coupon. The aji fry is a must-try.

Asakusa Station, 5 minutes walk, "Asakusa ASA Tiger". This time, I ordered a la carte after being seated. Ordered items: ☆Pickled Mackerel ¥1200 ☆ASA Tiger's Specialty Fried Horse Mackerel ¥700 ・ASA Tiger's Specialty Bubble Roll ¥2000 ・Fatty Tuna Roll ¥600 ☆Sardine ¥250. The appetizer of vinegar seaweed was refreshing. The pickled mackerel was rolled in a way that I couldn't have imagined from the menu name! The aroma of seaweed and overall balance were good. The ASA Tiger's specialty fried horse mackerel was perfectly cooked, moist and tender. This is a mackerel that you can enjoy with drinks! The ASA Tiger's specialty bubble roll had a bubbly appearance. The seasoning of the salmon roe was good! The fatty tuna inside the roll was also delicious. I also wanted to try the version without salmon roe and sea urchin! The fatty tuna roll was a stable choice. It's just delicious, the ultimate goodness. The sardine had a strong flavor of green onion oil. You can eat 10 pieces for ¥2500. It's great that you can enjoy authentic sushi dishes like this a la carte. It was a restaurant that I had been curious about for a long time. It was my second stop after having business nearby, but it was really good. I would like to visit again slowly.
