Today, I felt like eating pasta, so I remembered this place called Chirorin Village where they serve spaghetti. It's been about 3 years since my last visit. The interior of the restaurant seems brighter than before. There are 10 counter seats, 8 tables for 2 people, and 5 tables for 4 people, so it has quite a capacity. Around 7:30 pm, there were about 6 customers already seated, with no one coming in after. I remember this place for its spaghetti, not pasta, being cheap, having a wide variety, and serving quite a large portion for the "extra-large" option. Looking at the menu now, it seems to have more of a family restaurant style with pictures. The variety is still wide, but it seems like they have increased the prices. There are quite a few items over 1000 yen. There are still some affordable options, though. I decided to go for the Chicken Cream Sauce for 750 yen, with an extra-large portion for an additional 150 yen. The waitress seemed like a new high school student, maybe just started today. She was taking orders alongside a senior staff member. I had to wait a bit since there were other customers, maybe around 15 minutes. When the spaghetti arrived, it was indeed a large portion as I remembered. However, there was a slight discrepancy. I recall the extra-large cream sauce being quite generous and dripping, but this time, there was clearly less sauce, with some parts having no sauce at all. The cream sauce had large chunks of chicken, providing a good bite. A little bit of spinach added a nice touch, and the flavor was quite good. But, the sauce was definitely lacking. Even though I could tell from the start, I tried to eat it with a balanced approach, but I still found myself lacking sauce towards the end, resorting to using salt, pepper, and Tabasco from the table. It seems like they might have cut costs, especially since the prices seem to have gone up. But that amount of sauce for the extra-large portion is not enough. For those who prefer extra-large portions, it might be better to choose a dish that is more mixed or stir-fried, rather than sauce-based. Nonetheless, you can definitely enjoy a hearty plate of spaghetti here.
