I was in Nakameguro. RODEO. An Italian bar facing Yamate Street. The interior, with only counter seats, is limited in capacity, so early reservations are essential. Handwritten menus. I order various dishes while listening to the recommendations for the day. Starting with sparkling wine and Inca awakening chips (^ω^) *Click on the menu image to enlarge. Seared Sawara carpaccio. The seasonal cold Sawara is fatty and refreshing, with the aroma of karasumi and richness (^o^)ノノshi Sanriku oysters charcoal-grilled. The fresh oysters are large, just squeeze lemon and eat with oil in one bite. The taste of the sea spreads in the mouthヽ(´▽`)/ Hair crab miso gratin, with plenty of crab miso in white sauce. The tender crab meat goes well with the crispy baguette (≧∇≦)/ Omelette with plenty of Tokachi mushrooms topped with black truffles. The smooth eggs combined with both aromas are delicious (*゜▽゜)ノ The main dish is Kawamata Shamo, charcoal-grilled bone-in thigh. The crispy skin and tender meat of the Shamo with perfect cooking. The strong flavor of the meat, with pepper and mustard as a good accent (σ≧▽≦)σ Meat spaghetti with charcoal-grilled Wagyu hamburger and homemade demi-glace sauce. Break it on the noodles and sprinkle plenty of Parmigiano-Reggiano. The 2.4mm thick Manchini pasta has a chewy texture. The combination of coarse-ground meat flavor, demi-glace, and cheese is heavenly (≧∇≦)/ Catalana with crispy surface, served with mom's milky ice cream. The milky ice cream has a refreshing adult sweetness with melon liqueur. Enjoying the authentic Italian cuisine with carefully selected ingredients and charcoal grilling. Next time, I'll come for the tender chicken too~ o(^▽^)o

Visited "RODEO" in Naka-Meguro. It's a popular Italian restaurant known for its charcoal-grilled dishes. Recently, the Tokyo District Court (Business Division, Intellectual Property Division, Bankruptcy Division) moved around here. Personally, it's quite inconvenient, but with most hearings held online nowadays, it's not too bothersome (except for witness testimonies requiring physical presence). Setting that aside, this chic Italian spot in trendy Naka-Meguro caught my interest, so I made a reservation via Tabelog. Inside, it exudes a stylish ambiance predominantly in black, fitting the vibe of Naka-Meguro. However, contrary to expectations, upon entering, amidst diligent staff, there's a slightly misguided impression from one staff member, which was a bit disappointing. Could this be in line with Naka-Meguro's vibe? This impression lingered throughout. Starting with the slow-cooked grilled dishes and their signature pasta (this staff member was competent), my impression was a mix of one good and two so-so staff. The bonito carpaccio was traditional, while the grilled vegetable salad didn't leave much of an impression, just an average mix of grilled and raw veggies. The meat, deer and beef fillet, was cooked nicely, offering tasty lean cuts, although not particularly remarkable. The spaghetti with crushed hamburger steak, including the moment of smashing, was appetizing. Indeed, it was the most flavorful dish of the day. There's a slight discrepancy in service quality depending on the staff, which is understandable but having several staff members with a somewhat unpleasant demeanor compared to the good ones creates quite a contrast. It feels a bit unfair to the hardworking staff. Despite not liking to act superior as just a customer, I felt compelled to express this honest impression due to noticeable differences among staff members. Unfortunately, the overall rating of the restaurant seems to be gradually declining, perhaps reflecting honest feedback from diners. Payment was made by credit card, and as of today, they don't provide invoices. Please note, this account includes alcohol consumption and reflects personal impressions from the day. With that in mind, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant for the first time with a friend. It was a place I had wanted to go to for a long time based on reviews and word of mouth. The interior was surprisingly small, and we were seated at the end of the counter. Despite that, the staff in the hall attended to us very well, which warmed my heart. We ordered à la carte after being advised about the portion sizes. Planning to have wine, we ordered some appetizers and the main dish of venison. Everything was delicious, but the cramped seating near the entrance made the experience uncomfortable. Personally, I felt that it didn't quite live up to the rating on Tabelog (Japanese restaurant review website).

It's an Italian restaurant a short walk from Naka-Meguro station! ▼ What we ordered: Assorted grilled vegetables Garlic shrimp Cheese toast (tasty but heavy on the stomach) Crushed hamburger with pepperoncino (extremely delicious) And one drink each, totaling 5000 yen per person! The portion size per dish is small, so it's not great in terms of cost performance, but the taste is delicious!

Reservation made a week ago for Sunday at 8:00 PM. Received a confirmation call about 3 days prior. Enjoyed pear and burrata carpaccio, samartroffle omelette with foam, 2 craft beers, and white wine for around 10,000 yen for two people. Next time, we want to try the meat and pasta dishes. The staff was also great.

I would love to visit again. Just before I called, three cancellations happened, and I managed to slip in. Overall, the quality was impeccable. They elevate simple ingredients with high expertise, delivering a rare experience. Here's a summary of the dishes: - Potato Chips with Truffle Salt: Fragrant with a distinct sweetness of potatoes and a rich truffle salt. - Pear and Burrata: Light acidity of pears blends with the aroma of olives and the richness of burrata. - Chilled Corn Soup: Intensely rich, like drinking concentrated corn. - Bonito Carpaccio: Simple yet elevated by salt and olive oil. - Green Salad - Grilled Tripe: Easy to eat, intense, and well-balanced in flavor. - Mushroom and Summer Truffle Omelette: Bursting with mushroom flavor and balanced by the aroma of summer truffle. - Bresaola: Simple combination of aged aroma and Parmigiano. - Grilled Duck: Perfectly cooked to bring out the best of the duck's flavor. - Grilled Beef Fillet: Exceptional, tender, and soul-stirring. - Meat Pasta: Simple yet perfectly executed with a biancofon sauce and olive oil emulsion. - Milk Ice Cream: Richness and sweetness akin to compressing three Hagen-Dazs into half. - Blueberry Ice Cream: Smooth with a hint of cinnamon. All of this for $100 per person! Unbelievable quality! This is why dining at street-level restaurants is so enjoyable. Thank you for the feast!

The restaurant is located along a main street and its entrance may be easy to miss. It was crowded, especially during the Obon season, with no availability without a reservation. We ordered a variety of dishes including Oyster Charcoal Grill, Truffle Omelette, Meat Spaghetti, and Tiramisu. The complimentary potato chips were delicious, especially with the truffle oil, making them a perfect appetizer. The Oyster Charcoal Grill was perfectly cooked with a rare texture. The Zucchini dish was generously topped with cheese, complementing well with wine. The Omelette had mushrooms and truffle on top, simple yet the truffle aroma was prominent. The wild boar and pork had no gamey taste and a nice balance of meat and fat. The Meat Spaghetti was impressive with a large hamburger patty on top, visually striking and perfect for social media. It was filling and rich in meaty flavor. The kitchen can be a bit warm due to the wood fire, but it's enjoyable to watch the cooking process. Overall, every dish was delicious and showcased the flavors of the ingredients. We will definitely visit again.

It seems that everyone who lives in Naka-Meguro has heard of this popular restaurant nestled there. Despite its reputation for being difficult to book, judging from the reviews on Tabelog, it doesn't seem that hard to get a reservation. My friend was looking for someone to go with, so I decided to join in and visit this place. The interior exudes a chic atmosphere, with a cozy space of about 15 seats. There's only one table, the rest are counter seats. The small size of the restaurant and its unique homely atmosphere warmly welcome visitors. Surprisingly, there's no set course menu; instead, you order while listening to the staff's recommendations. They take all the orders at once, so each dish is served freshly made, and you can feel the heartfelt hospitality. From appetizers to mains, every dish has an amazing flavor. The freshness of the ingredients really enhances the quality of the food. The staff is excellent at gauging the pace of the customers and anticipating their needs before they even ask. While the food and service are satisfying, some might expect a bit more of a special touch given the high-end Italian price range. Nevertheless, it's delightful when they generously pour wine into your glass. Overall, the joy of choosing dishes and the heartfelt hospitality make this place charming, and I definitely want to visit again someday!

Check out another dating spot @naotaka_cafegram! Rodeo in Nakameguro has an Italian vibe, and entering through the noren (traditional fabric curtain), you might not realize it's a restaurant. It's a perfect place for anniversaries, birthdays, and the Christmas season! Just a 5-minute walk from Nakameguro, the entrance is low-key, but inside, it's a chic space with a black-themed atmosphere. The menu is so fantastic that just reading the names makes it hard to decide. I picked some favorites and asked the staff for recommendations. If you're unsure, feel free to use the menu as a reference. - Complimentary truffle-flavored potato chips - Signature bruschetta - Field and pear with burrata cheese - Grilled vegetable assortment - Meat spaghetti Bianco Cacio e Pepe - Wild boar pork shoulder loin - Catalana (type of dish) - Tiramisu The complimentary potato chips have such a rich aroma that you'd want to take them home! There are also seasonal fruits, burrata, meat spaghetti, and mains – all delicious! You'll definitely want to go back. I was finally able to secure a reservation amidst the difficulty, and I'm grateful to have been seated at the only table available. The atmosphere and the lingering aroma in the restaurant were already fantastic. Starting from the complimentary potato chips to the appetizers and main course, everything was delicious. They kept track of our pace and served each dish in order, allowing us to consistently enjoy freshly prepared food and making us feel well taken care of. The meat was tender, bursting with flavor with each bite, and a single piece made me feel like I could have three bowls of rice. Although I don't have photos, the bruschetta left a lasting impression, especially the way the cheese was smoked with wood – the best I've had among cheese-on-bread dishes. While it may not be a place I can frequent often, I'm eager to go again. Thank you very much.

I had the best meat sauce pasta paired with red wine at this restaurant. The roasted wild boar and pork were exquisite, and the eggplant with white liver was delicious too. It's been a while since I found a place that left me completely satisfied. The staff was attentive, bringing the menu before I even asked and refilling water promptly. I had a very pleasant time with exceptional service.

I visited here to explore Italian cuisine. They have a system where you order while listening to explanations from the staff about the menu written on a blackboard. The atmosphere is like a bar, perfect for drinks and snacks. We ordered a few snacks to accompany our drinks, and for the finale, we had pasta. We enjoyed two white wines and one red, all delicious! The standout dishes for me were the swordfish carpaccio and the grilled swordfish, incredibly fresh with a perfect touch of coarse salt. We devoured them! The grilled shishito peppers with tomato sauce were so good that we licked the plate. The grilled eggplant with cheese was tasty, but I felt it had a bit too much cheese. The venison and pork were both delicious, with no hint of gaminess, as everyone agreed. The mushroom omelet was a favorite too. As for the pasta, we tried three varieties: squid ink, tomato, and bottarga. The bottarga was particularly rich and enjoyable. Personally, I would have preferred the tomato sauce to be more like arrabbiata. The only downside was that the noodles were too thick, which is the most crucial point for me. If they could use thinner spaghetti noodles, I'd definitely come back. It was disappointing that the pasta noodles were so thick, considering how excellent the sauces were. But this is just my personal opinion. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

When I decided to challenge Italian cuisine during my summer vacation, it was quite difficult to find a restaurant that accommodates solo diners, and my lack of familiarity with such places made the selection even more challenging. Eventually, I settled on "RODEO" quite early in the process. What drew me in was the prospect of enjoying meat cooked over wood and charcoal, along with the impression from occasional mentions that it was a laid-back place with a fun atmosphere. I made a reservation promptly. The restaurant offers à la carte dining. While sipping sparkling wine, I struggled a bit to make my selections and ended up choosing "Grilled Eggplant," "Swordfish Carpaccio," the restaurant's specialty "Hamburger Spaghetti," and "Roast Wild Boar." For dessert, I opted for "Panna Cotta." I accompanied these with two glasses of red wine (Montepulciano) and post-meal coffee, amounting to just under 16,000 yen (including a 10% service charge). The impression I got was not quite that of a trattoria; rather, it felt like a modern interpretation of an "Itameshiya," a place that doesn't take itself too seriously. The service had a casual vibe (which might not appeal to everyone), but what they brought out was impressive. The dishes had real culinary prowess. Take the signature dish, "Hamburger Spaghetti," for example. While some might argue about its origins in Western-style eateries, the way they've managed to infuse it with a Bolognese-style essence yet still retain a hint of authentic Italian flavor is a testament to the chef's skill. The addition of shichimi pepper, suggested by the waiter, perfectly enhanced the taste. It's a dish that showcases the culinary expertise. I was also surprised by the simplicity yet perfect balance of the "Eggplant." Just grilled with cheese and breadcrumbs, but squeezing lemon over it brought out an amazing balance. And of course, the roasted meat was outstanding. As for the wine selection, they offered one type of sparkling wine and three each of white and red. The prices seemed a bit high, likely due to the impact of the strong euro, but they matched the food perfectly without needing to overthink, offering a well-rounded lineup. Even though the glass of wine seemed pricey, they were generous with the pour, especially for DOCG wines. It's common to say "delicious" after a meal, but finding a restaurant where the entire experience, including choosing from the menu, is genuinely "enjoyable" (not in a flashy or extravagant way, but in a straightforward manner) is rare. So, I intend to continue patronizing this establishment with care. As a starting point for my four-round Italian dining adventure during the summer vacation, it was a pretty good choice.

I went to "RODEO," which has been said to be a popular restaurant located a 5-minute walk from Naka-Meguro Station! First off, it seems that from last year, you can make reservations via Tabelog, and we were able to easily secure one. There's no set course; you just order à la carte. For two people, the staff suggested that around four appetizers, one pasta dish, and one meat dish would be enough to fill us up. Here's what we had: ★ Potato Chips: These were served as a starter, and they were flavored with truffle, perfectly seasoned! ★ Corn Soup: It was served cold and although the portion was small, it was refreshingly sweet and delicious. ★ Flying Fish Carpaccio: Quite a shocker in terms of portion (laughs). It came with four small slices, lukewarm, with a somewhat subtle taste and texture. ★ Omelette with Tokachi Mushrooms and Truffle Sauce: You can choose to add truffle sauce or not. The inside was wonderfully gooey and irresistibly tasty. Adding lemon gave it a refreshing twist! ★ Ezo Deer from Matsumura in Hokkaido: Delicious! The skillful cooking brought out a perfect balance of texture, still retaining its tenderness. The simple seasoning really highlighted the flavor of the meat! ★ Charcoal Tokidoki Firewood Meat Spaghetti: A specialty! A massive hamburger patty sits atop the spaghetti, covered in meat sauce and generous amounts of Parmesan cheese. Breaking the hamburger and mixing it in creates a perfect ending to the meal. ★ White Wine (Sauvignon Blanc) - 1 glass ★ Lemon Sour - 1 glass All this came to around ¥8,000 per person. The food was tasty, and the ambiance was nice, but I couldn't help but feel like the cost performance wasn't quite there. At this price point, there are plenty of other delicious restaurants out there. Also, we didn't end up feeling completely full, so we went to another place afterward. The selection of wines by the glass was limited, and despite it being midsummer, the interior was uncomfortably hot (laughs). I think it would be perfect for a first date or a girls' night out because the atmosphere is truly lovely! I personally won't be revisiting, but I'm glad I finally got to try it since it's been on my radar for a while ♡

I've always wanted to visit RODEO in Naka-Meguro, where reservations are a must if you want an early time slot. Since I had plans to go to Ginza, I made a reservation about a month in advance this time. The restaurant has a stylish and cozy atmosphere. There were three of us, so we were seated at a table, and to start, my husband and I had highballs while our daughter had a blood orange juice for cheers! We were served a starter of Inca Wake-Up Potato Chips with Truffle Salt. Delicious! From the daily recommendations, we ordered the Chilled Corn Soup, Flying Fish Carpaccio, my daughter had the Caciocavallo cheese, while my husband and I had the Grilled Oysters. For meat, we ordered deer and beef fillet and the restaurant's recommended meat sauce pasta. The chilled corn soup was served in espresso cups, rich, sweet, and delicious! My daughter's excitement was rising. The flying fish carpaccio was also served in small plates but of high quality! After having the oysters and Caciocavallo, we ordered some dishes we were curious about before the main course arrived. Mushroom Omelette with Truffle, Long Green Chili Peppers, Grilled Offal, and a bottle of dry white wine! The mushroom omelette was sliced with truffle in front of us, and the mushrooms were delicious! The main meat dishes were also delicious. The recommended pasta was a voluminous dish with thick pasta boiled for 20 minutes, topped with crumbled hamburger steak, sauce, and cheese! The grilled offal seemed to have garlic butter? The surface was crispy and fragrant, and the fat melted in the mouth, very delicious. The final touch was curry! It was a bit like demi-glace, about 3-4 mouthfuls in quantity. There was attention to detail in the ingredients, each dish was of exquisite quantity and high quality, and the service from the staff who served us was excellent. I think it's a really good restaurant for enjoying delicious food while having a few drinks. However, whether we ordered too much or not, as a middle-aged couple, we ended up feeling a bit heavy in the stomach.

I visited a popular restaurant in Nakameguro that I had been curious about for a while. The exterior had a very stylish atmosphere, and I was excited as I entered. However, the seat I was assigned was right in front of the grill, and it was extremely hot. The staff explained that they had gotten used to the heat and their senses were a bit off, but they should consider managing the air conditioning for those who might find it too hot. There wasn't a set course menu; instead, they introduced their recommended dishes, and we ordered everything from appetizers to mains all at once. The complimentary potato chips served first were delicious. The chilled corn soup that we ordered next was rich, and perhaps due to the heat inside, it tasted even better. The flying fish carpaccio tasted like simple supermarket sashimi with olive oil and salt. Next was the mushroom omelet, which was tasty. The addition of summer truffle and fluffy eggs were excellent, although it didn't stand out significantly from what you might find at a trendy café. Then came the main dish, Ezo venison. It was a bit disappointing that there were no sides, but the perfectly cooked meat was incredibly flavorful. The last dish, their famous meat sauce spaghetti, was prepared right at the table, which was entertaining and delicious, leaving us fully satisfied. Overall, the food was good but not as exceptional as expected, more like your typical trendy café level. Despite sitting right in front of the grill, the air conditioning wasn't very effective, and it wasn't until we left the restaurant that we finally felt the relief of a cool July night in Tokyo.

The dishes served were all delicious, and what I appreciated the most was the wonderful ambiance of the restaurant every time I passed by.

I was introduced to this place by a friend, and I was really looking forward to it because the reviews were great. There were about four staff members, and the service from the female staff was excellent. However, the male staff members were very rude to the female staff, and I couldn't bear to witness it, so I left quickly. It was very disappointing, especially since I had high expectations.

The outer layer is grilled to a crispy finish, while the inside is served almost rare.
